Slovenly is a word I find myself using quite a bit at the moment. Slovenly is what I think of anybody who leaves a message here about an article and fails to provide a wikilink to the article. How do you expect me to read the article if you don't link to it? Even if the article has been deleted, you should still link to it.
I reserve the right to ignore any message which does not provide links where appropriate, has no heading, is in the wrong place on this page, has not been signed with ~~~~, is anonymous, etc.
And if that sounds like a grumpy old man, it's because I am ...

Winston's Wish charity

Hi Roger, we have vastly improved the page for the charity Winston's Wish and would like it to be restored as we now feel it meets guidelines. The article is neutral and we have added a number of references to national publications. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 135.196.165.98 (talk) 08:05, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi Roger, still no further forward with our page despite hugely improving the neutrality and referencing of the article. Please could you advise how we reinstate our page. Many thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 135.196.165.98 (talk) 12:51, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

Roger, you blocked our username, so I can't log in on the computer I'm using. Yes it was I who wrote the above. — 135.196.165.98 (talk) 16:03, 25 April 2014 (UTC) Liam, Winston's Wish.

  • What's with this surreal "yes it was I …" message. We can presume it was you because the IP address is the same. Whaddya mean "like it to be restored" - the log clearly shows that I restored it on April 4. What is the point of this edit which you have done twice? The article has already been submitted - why submit it again? Please reply.
Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your organisation is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:34, 25 April 2014 (UTC)
Erm, I think that "yes it was I" was in answer to part of your 'wikify!' message which mentions the procedure for IPs.--Launchballer 23:06, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

Yes, it was in response to the Wikify message re: procedure for IP addresses. Taking the advice that you stated, trying to do things right. -- Liam, Winston's Wish. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.67.53.172 (talk) 18:42, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

We still see this on 'project page' - "This page has been deleted. The deletion and move log for the page are provided below for reference. 11:14, 4 April 2014 RHaworth (talk | contribs) moved page Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Winston's Wish to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Winston's Wish without leaving a redirect". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 135.196.165.98 (talk)

  • You did not answer my "why submit it again" question. For goodness sake! Read the log entry. All edits at Wikipedia:… have been moved to Wikipedia_talk:… . There is nothing at Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Winston's Wish to restore. We do not put articles in more than one place as you had done and for AfCs Wikipedia_talk: is the preferred namespace. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:15, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
Here is another question I would like you to answer: our recommendations about COI are very clear. Why do you think that they do not apply to you? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:47, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi Roger, I'm really sorry that we appear to have irritated you. This was not our intention. If it wasn't obvious, you are speaking to somebody who is not familiar with Wikipedia. I have done my best to read up on Wikipedia policy and protocol, and can only apologise if we unintentionally haven't followed this at any stage. It should be noted that I am doing my best to follow your advice, hence following your procedure for IP addresses. To answer your question, I submitted our article again because I made numerous changes to the text, adding references from national publications. This was on the advice of the user who declined our original submission. I thought that was the correct thing to do. The whole process has been made very difficult by having our username banned by yourself. We clearly do not intend to vandalise or do any harm to any pages, we just want to create a page for our charity. To answer your second question, I do not feel that your recommendations "do not apply to us". Not at all, Roger. I have written the entire article in a neutral tone and backed it up with over a dozen independent, reliable and national publications who have extensively covered the work our charity does. Having researched Wikipedia, I notice many smaller, more localised charities have their own Wikipedia pages, with fewer references, and clearly written by employees. Having made considerable effort to research and write the Winston's Wish piece in a neutral tone, I am struggling to see why we are still being denied having a presence on Wikipedia. 135.196.165.98 (talk) 12:47, 28 April 2014 (UTC) Liam, Winston's Wish. 28.4.14.

  • "Made very difficult by having our username banned" - what a totally ridiculous statement. If you really insist on continuing to edit, create a new account with a name that gives no hint of your connection with your charity. Is that too difficult a concept to understand? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:34, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

A beer for you!

Thanks for handling the "Qn magazine" and "Yale Insights" articles. Your "prod" approach to the "Qn magazine" article is **much** better than my intention to move the article to Yale Insights; the article is poorly written / outdated, and most of its external links are broken. Thanks again. LukasMatt (talk) 10:52, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

Bit9

I would like to create a Wikipedia article on the subject of Bit9, a computer security company. An article was submitted on this subject about five years ago and it was quickly deleted due to notability and spam concerns. I believe that a new article can survive notability objections as the company is now an important participant in its field. Here is some proposed text as a start to the new article, for your consideration. Additional material is available to expand the article. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Paul (User:Lpgeffen) (talk) 18:29, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

If I found that in mainspace, I'd A7 it there and then. Put that in a sandbox, such as User:Lpgeffen/Bit9, and then expand it.--Launchballer 19:57, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

My page on User:Lpgeffen/Bit9 has been updated for your comments. Paul (User:Lpgeffen) (talk) 20:27, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

I recommend we keep all the discussion on one place. That article contains far too much unsourced stuff in my opinion. DYK recommends one statement per paragraph.--Launchballer 20:36, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

Suggest we use the Talk page for the article to discuss changes rather than User talk pages. Paul (User:Lpgeffen) (talk) 20:38, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

  • My question is: why do people like you and Mminetti (talk · contribs) (see this) have to be so long winded? Bring your draft up to article standard and then submit it via AfC. If it gets accepted then removal of the protection on Bit9 will be uncontroversial. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:41, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

The article has been made shorter. What other recommendations do you have? Paul (User:Lpgeffen) (talk) 13:16, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

  • As I have already told you, when you think it is ready submit it via AfC. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:25, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Admin's Barnstar
I've seen you do quite a bit of admin work in my watchlist so i think you deserve a star Retartist (talk) 11:57, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

I was too slow - I was going to decline the speedy and PROD instead. There actually was a credible, albeit sad claim of notability: according to the article, this is the first student organisation at nl:De Nayer Instituut (Sint-Katelijne-Waver) to invite the participation of women. Best might have been to redirect to the institution, but we don't appear to have an article on it and my Dutch/Flemish isn't great. Any ideas? Yngvadottir (talk) 12:36, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

  • No action needed until someone produces a) an English article about the Instituut and b) an English version of the club article which is not a stub copied from here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:00, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

Armenian greetings

Is it possible to transfer a deleted page back to a sandbox state for further improvement? Parev RHaworth, some time ago i created Armenian church greetings, it was a great moment for me. It was subsequently deleted as it similar to another page Armenian greetings. Not so great moment. That page was in turn 'transwikied to another project'. Ouch.

I'm no longer able to view my original offending page and I miss it dearly. Any chance you can work some administrator magic and pop it into my sandbox where i promise to toil away and make it wikiworthy? Big thanks in advance and please pardon my wiki-ignorance as I'm still a wiki-newbie. Hey, this double bracket thing is fun and easy! -- Berj1999 (talk) 18:17, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

  • The person who tagged it as transwikied did not actually give details of whither it had been transwikied. But I have found a copy here. Please do not attempt to repost it here. Wiktionary may well accept it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:34, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

Someone who keeps on misusing DAB's

Okay so I did make one after someone misused this guy Ernest Becker (disambiguation), which I moved to here as well Ernest Becker (director of athletics), there is another instance recently where he did this a couple times and I made a DAB page for later on it. I sent him a message but not sure if he understands. Don't know what to say. — Wgolf (talk) 22:13, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

  • And I don't know what to say because I have no idea who you mean by "someone". — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:39, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

The person I meant was the one who started the article of Ernest Becker (director of athletics). Wgolf (talk) 22:41, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

Ha ha okay, that is good-I did do a g7 on one earlier but after a person made a dab page for someone with that name (well it was a variation) I knew it be a good idea to just redirect. I actually have found quite a few pages as of late I put afd's on. Well good luck editing! Wgolf (talk) 22:40, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

Respected sir , why did you deleted Mr Rakesh Biswas wekipedia page ...i am suzie, administrator of rakesh biswas. I have provided most relevant references for Rakesh Biswas — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1.38.22.85 (talk) 05:38, 26 April 2014 (UTC)

Please note that another IP address has just edited your userpage asking about that page.--Launchballer 10:32, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
  • On reflection, I will talk to this IP address because I definitely do not want you to create another account. The Rakesh Biswas page was quite rightly deleted three times by three different admins but none of them was me. Indeed, why do you write to me instead of one of those three admins? Please reply. Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks this guy is notable enough for a Wikipedia (note the spelling) article. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:38, 26 April 2014 (UTC)

Design Board International

Hello RHaworth, I totally understand the reason why you have deleted my article. (G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement of this). Actually I was editor of the content of Design Board's website and I didn't realize that in fact this is copywright information. How can I restore the article? Will it be enough if I delete the copyright information? Thank you. WeLoveDesign (talk) 19:26, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

Students' Ethnographic Association

Hi! I can't really agree with the reason (A7: Article about a company, corporation or organization, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject) why you deleted the article Students' Ethnographic Association. I wrote a message with an explanation but nevertheless it was deleted without discussion. PavietranySzar (talk) 19:55, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks that your association is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:13, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

I think that the conflict of interest you are talking about doesn't really exist. I'm neither employed by the Association nor get money for any kind of promotion or whatsoever. What is more it is a non-profit organisation. The information I gave was presented in a neutral manner and was aimed at informing, rather than promoting. I'd like to underline that this organisation is the only one in post-soviet countries which is recognised by UNESCO as an expert in the field of intangible culture. Taking this into consideration I hope that you will change your mind and restore the article. Thanks PavietranySzar (talk) 20:52, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

  • My accusation of COI is based on your contributions history which is usually a very accurate indicator. I am unwilling to restore it, you have not set up an email address so I have taken the kinky step of posting it to be:user:PavietranySzar/sandbox. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:29, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

Shep Gordon

Why did you delete the Shep Gordon wikipedia page? — (name withheld. via email)

  • I assume that: a) you do not have a Wikipedia account and b) you are referring to the page that I deleted on 2013-09-09. The entire content of that page was: "Shep Gorgon is a fictional fictitious character from the world of the legends". The real Shep Gordon may well be notable so why don't you: create an account and then create an article about the guy? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:29, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

Deleted Darlene Johnson article

Hi there, I am just sending you this message to let you know I am currently working on the copyright issues of the deleted Darlene Johnson article you recently deleted. I would also like to say in regards to the copyright issues, many of the issues pointed out to me were to do with names of events or awards which I can not avoid. I will re-post the article once I have worked on it and had it submitted for review. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kailab42 (talkcontribs) 06:54, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Blue Cone Monochromacy

Hi RHaworth, I am writing you this note to ask your help about the article blue cone monochromacy. I think this page should be published because it is a rare retinal diseases and needs a proper page on wikipedia like many other eye rare diseases, eg.: retinoschisis, Leber's congenital amaurosis, retinitis pigmentosa, choroideremia, Stargardt disease. Blue cone monochromacy is a disease similar to the previous ones and rare and I strongly believe it needs a page on Wikipedia. I'm currently part of BCM Families, a group of patients affected by this diseases. We have been working toward the developement of a cure with a group of doctors around the world and our aim is to make people aware of this eye disease. I have 10 years of experience about symptoms, genetic inheritance, aspects and features of this disease.

I also need your help to put order inside Wikipedia about the articles "Monochromacy" "Color Blindness" and "Blue Cone Monochromacy". The last one is infact a well defined genetic rare disease while inside the page "Monochromacy" and "Color Blindness" many different conditions and diseases have been reported together without an order. I need also your help because the exact name of the disease is Blue Cone Monochromacy but this disease it is also known as "Blue Cone Monochromatism" and "X-linked Achromatopsia" so I'd like the 2 last names be linked toward Blue Cone Monochromacy. I put at the end of the article the links toward BCM families and blueconemonochromacy.org. These links represent years of efforts in the creation of a web community made of Blue Cone Monochromacy affected patients, but I can remove these 2 links if you think it is necessary.

Thank you for your help best regards Renata Sarno, PHD — Preceding unsigned comment added by Renata.sarno (talkcontribs) 16:08, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Don't even think about about contributing here until you have spent some time learning how to format wiki articles, eg. the section numbering in your submission or the horrible formatting of your list of examples above. It is not a matter of removing links it as a matter of showing that this is a well-recognised medical condition by adding links to references outside of the medical literature. I suggest you create a draft article in User talk:Renata.sarno/sarndbox and then ask at talk:monochromacy whether a separate article is justified. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:34, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

"Utterly pointless"

Hi RHaworth, I would disagree that this edit was "utterly pointless", I would have said the bet options were to either undo both edits, or leave it: it is far easier to read when they are each on an individual line, as the article creator put them originally (albeit with a space at the start). What is gained from a block of refs, if they are each on a new line the editor can open each ref and know which ones they've opened. Thanks, Matty.007 16:53, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

  • I unreservedly withdraw the utterly. Read as "fairly pointless". As you well know, what is needed is conversion to proper references. They will remain each on a new line in the edit box which is where it matters. How they appear in the rendered text is unimportant. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:02, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
    • OK, thanks for the reply. I prefer to have refs on separate lines normally when I find links so they are easy to go to, but if it's only me... Thanks, Matty.007 18:06, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Boaz Keysar Page

Hello, I have been attempting to post a page on Boaz Keysar, renowned research psychologist but it keeps getting moved to a talk page. I am a new user and accidentally made it a talk page instead of a project page first. How do I submit the article to be a project page and delete the talk page? Thank you, Mads.776 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mads.776 (talkcontribs)

  • The preferred namespace for AfC submissions is Wikipedia_talk:. You have already submitted it for review. At one level you just sit and wait ages for it to be reviewed. But you can go on improving it and my main suggestion is to cut it to about a quarter of its present length. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:02, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Sockpuppets

So, you tagged User:Agganoor and User:Ygbvani as possible sockpuppets of User:Nsmutte, but you didn't open an SPI, or just summarily block either user? How does this help anything? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:46, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Amendment: I see you have blocked the socks, but taken no action on the master. You're sure this isn't just a case of three editors doing similar work? (Has the smell of three students working on the same homework assignment.) WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:02, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

  • I agree that the edits to Hypercholesterolemia do suggest three students. The fact that all their edits have been reverted and their inappropriate redirects have been deleted is not much reason for blocking since they do seem to be good faith edits. I will give very sympathetic consideration to any request for unblocking coming from Nsmutte (talk · contribs) on behalf of the other two. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:54, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Amperage Marketing

Hi Roger, I was working on putting together Amperage Marketing with a few of my coworkers, but it appears the page has been deleted. It was a bit slim as it was just starting out and was just being shared with others for their input (I didn't have all of the info I needed on my own). The company is the result of the merger of Henry Russell Bruce (a company with 40+ years of history) and another company in the area. We'd hope to fill out the Amperage page to match or exceed the detail/information provided by the HRB page.

Is there any way this can be restored so we can include more information and fill out the details regarding the merger that caused the company to form? Is there anything in particular that the page is missing or has done improperly that we should address? I've set my preferences to allow for email from others as you mentioned. Thanks for your time and what you do, Kurt — Preceding unsigned comment added by KZeni (talkcontribs) 19:54, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Done improperly!! Mainly editing at all with your declared COI. Just because you have got away with edits to HRB is no reason to approve your creation of a new article. "Unique combination of capabilities and expertise" is pure spam which has no place on Wikipedia. We need independent refs not your website and press releases . Above all, even if you insist on shouting your name all the time, you are not allowed to do it on Wikipedia. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:54, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

I see what you mean. I pulled that spammy text from elsewhere as I wouldn't have said that myself... I did remove spammy text if I noticed any, but it appears some slipped through, my bad. I had envisioned the article would be given a second pass (or more) to make it correct. I'll see about revising it to remove any offending content. KZeni (talk) 22:31, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Bespoke Post

Hello! I understand Bespoke Post was deleted since it was incomplete, but is there a way to recreate the article and save for later (without submitting the page for review)? It seems that we have to write the whole article in one time. Thank you. William contributor (talk) 14:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Yes, of course there is a way - it is called a userspace draft. But in your case please do not create one. I'm actually not part of this organization/company at all, I'm a consumer of their services/products, so I believe there is no COI in that case. Isn't what Wikipedia is about? That someone from outside a company/event/etc. thinks it is awesome and wants to write about it? Was it mainly an issue of references? Thank you. William contributor (talk) 15:03, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

Darina Takova Foundation

Please study the article Darina Takova Foundation. I don't undersand why this article is deleted. Darina Takova Foundation is a solid and serious foundation in Bulgaria. You have deleted the article philosophy of silence posted by me on 29/04/2014 terming it as a case of ‘original research’ which assessment is incorrect because the sources on which the article was based verily speak about the kind of silence the Hindu texts care to define and which silence I had intended to highlight. In fact, I had simply quoted in a particular sequence those very words which have been used by the authors upon whose texts I had relied. I had conducted no original research whatsoever. I do not have a copy of the said article; do provide me with a copy so that I can do a re-work. Can I place a request with you for its un-deletion? Thanks. Aditya soni (talk) 02:25, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Aditya. I nominated this article for deletion. The article is clearly not encyclopaedic even before going into its original research status. I dont think 'undeleting' it will be of much use. Regards, Jayakumar RG (talk) 09:31, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

I have understood your suggestion including the title suggested, but I need a copy of the written matter to re-work on. Do provide me a copy of the deleted article. Please do not disappoint me. You have also deleted what was for long my user page. I was initiated by my father when I was in college. Since then I have continued to study and re-study the Vedas and ancillary texts, and also Hindu astrology, about which events I cannot boast. Therefore, I had nothing to write about myself. For your information, I am a Commerce Honours Graduate and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. That is all, and nothing much to talk about. This is the reason why I have failed to interact with my fellow contributors, editors and administrators. But,I intend to continue contributing to Wiki so that I can pass on to others what I have understood and learnt. God bless you and Jayakumar. I shall pray for both of you, your happiness and rise in your respective personal and professional spheres. Namaskar.Aditya soni (talk) 11:06, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

I'll redo the deletion thing as soon as, but like YOURVoice from earlier this month, we're looking at a micro grouplet looking for publicity in the run up to next month's elections... doktorb wordsdeeds 21:10, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

Regarding the multiple deletions and salting of Liberty GB and the likely deletion of Paul Weston (politician), may I suggest that the pages be redirected to British Freedom Party instead? Cheers. Ivanvector (talk) 21:59, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

Cheers RHaworth. doktorb wordsdeeds 07:53, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

I don't think that's good enough. The original was deleted by User:Sphilbrick because and only because it was created by a banned user. I only found out when I tried to create the article myself. As per procedure, I contacted him to get approval to recreate the article, having no idea who the original editor was or what the article said ( see User talk:Sphilbrick#Liberty GB). I supplied a link to my draft version (User:Emeraude/temp). Sphilbrick agreed that the article was only deleted because of who it was created by and there was no reason why I could not do it. But when I came to do so, I see that you have deleted another attempt (though I do not know what it said). Doktorbuk is close when he describes Liberty GB as a grouplet; but so what. The party has attracted widespread coverage with what is probably a well-rehearsed stunt, but it is nevertheless a party contesting an election at national (or rather, international) level. In years to come, the articles on the European 2014 election, on the South East constituency and others are going to mention Liberty GB, and readers will have no way of knowing what they are/were and no way of finding out from this Encyclopaedia. I write as a (retired) political scientist; I am frequently frustrated by Wikipedia's and other sources' coverage of politics, elections especially, where I have no way of knowing what the parties mentioned stand for or who was involved. The fact is, there is very little to say about this group, but it needs to be said somewhere, and to suggest it is redirected to British Freedom Party rather misses the point that this is not the British Freedom Party! I request that you reconsider. Emeraude (talk) 09:12, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
  • I deleted Liberty GB for lack of notability. It receives only passing mention in the BFP article so there is no justification for a redirect. If you disagree, raise the matter at DRV. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:24, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
An editor has asked for a deletion review of Liberty GB. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Notifying you on behalf of Emeraude. Cheers. Ivanvector (talk) 18:33, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
I must apologise. I should have done this myself but got so frustrated trying to navigate the DRV template that I ran out time. Emeraude (talk) 18:38, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

Hello, please review the deletion of the dj embro article in Wikipedia. Have a nice day sir. Airamiano (talk) 23:43, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

Deleted Bad Voltage

  • I think it bad that you deleated Bad Voltage within hous of creation. The majority of users involved in this are in the US and you havent even given them time to see and contribute to the page before deleating it. It is not just a replication of an existing web page, but crioniocling a new podcast. Many podcsats are documented on wikipedia, and there is a place for this one. Please resore at least for long enough for the community to chip in and expand the item. — Stuart Ward UK (talk) 15:03, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

Bad Voltage is a humerous pod cast for people interested in Free Open source it is fronted by Jono Bacon (The Ubuntu Community Manager), Jeremy Garcia (founder of LinuxQuestions.org, one of the largest Linux communities on the web), Stuart Langridge and Bryan Lunduke.

Jono and Stuart made the Lug Radio Podcasts between 2004 and 2009 which became a hit in the UK and US. Bad Voltage is the successor to Lug Radio which started in 2013. It's also a growing community.

Please reinstate this page at least long enough for us to flesh it out so we can demonstrate the significance of Bad Voltage. — Warren-Hill (talk) 19:38, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

  • Perhaps you should join up with Amperage Marketing whose similar request is currently also on this page. How can you expect an article totally devoid of references to survive? Text emailed to Stuart. Learn to use your sandbox for drafts and a spell checker all the time. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:05, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
  • All we are asking for is sufficent time to allow the Bad Voltage community to fleash out this page. I am not attacking you, but your policy of deleating pages within hours of creation. Especially as the community involved here is spread around the world. So it takes a littel time to get all the text together for an article. Articles don't suddenly appear fully formed. I did add the stub to indicate that it was a work in progress. Stuart Ward UK (talk) 14:32, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
  • You may have all time in the world to flesh out the page - am I stopping you? Please reply. Did you see my advice to use your sandbox for drafts and a spell checker all the time? Please reply. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:05, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
  • But a sandbox is only accessable by a single user. We are a diverse community across several time zones. So yes I could work on an initial version and post that up when it is ready, but I cant get other members of the community to contribute. That is the whole point of wikipedia that it is a community produced. All we are asking for is enough time to show relavance and compose a signifcant artical before you go and delete it. Are we supposed to form the text on another site before bringing it to wikipedia. Where I have worked on other atricles that someone is proposing to delete we usally have several days to work on it before the hammer comes down. I fully understand the need to remove spammy items like the Amperage Marketing you mentioned, but this is in a compleatly diffrent catogory. Stuart Ward UK (talk) 16:30, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
  • Totally ridiculous. Anybody can edit User:Stuart Ward UK/sandbox. Sure there are strong conventions that you do not mess with someone else's user page but if you invite people to edit then it is perfectly OK. You have already included the {{stub}} template so you have already given that invitation. But if you don't like a user sandbox, create it in the draft: namespace. Please use a spell checker - I use Opera which has one built in - but you may need to turn it on. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:01, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

molecular bio databases

I don;t feel entirelya confident using a7 on databases, and I know it does not apply to computer programs. That doesn't mean the batch of articles is at all satisfactory, and I've given the user some advice to either combine the material into one article or expand the separate articles. I'd appreciate it if you gave him a few days to do it before sending it to AfD. I think that if I were to work on these, I would almost certainly be able to show them notable,, but there's too much work to do on them for me to want to do it myself, when its his job. But guidance is better than deletion.. DGG ( talk ) 00:44, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

Genmymodel

Hello, I am contacting you to see why you deleted the page GenMyModel. It was deleted without discussion. The page is not the same as the page deleted in February 2013. Could you please explain your decision? Regards, Ben. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.215.131.34 (talk) 07:32, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

  • There is very little difference between the two versions and certainly there is no evidence that the product has become any more notable since the AfD decision. I suspect you are another sock puppet of TomOnTheWeb (talk · contribs) but if can provide sound evidence of notability, go to deletion review. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:42, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

user:Douglas Nelson Turner

Why did you delete my user space without talking to me? Douglas Nelson Turner (talk) 14:52, 3 May 2014 (UTC)

@Douglas Nelson Turner: Sadly, The Herald moved your user page and talk page into draft namespace thinking they were drafts, without bothering to ask you. I asked to have those pages moved back. Since you had been using your userpage as a sandbox, the admin foolishly chose not to move it back, but simply deleted it. I'm sorry for what coding you lost. You might ask for that content to be restored. Chris Troutman (talk) 04:04, 4 May 2014 (UTC)
  • Since it all began with my mistake, I am sorry for that. Methought it was a draft and carried it right to the draft page. Sorry for that. So, per WP:REFUND, is it possible to restore the content.?? The herald 11:25, 4 May 2014 (UTC)
@RHaworth: I apologize. I see that you moved what had been his user page to User:Douglas Nelson Turner/sandbox. I didn't notice that. Chris Troutman (talk) 09:47, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
  • At last! I hope that Douglas Nelson Turner and The Herald will take careful note. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 00:03, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

Chris Griffin (Entrepreneur)

Hello. I'd like to contest the deletion of Chris Griffin (Entrepreneur) created by me on April 30th and deleted on May 1st. The article was deleted under A7: Article about a real person, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject. Chris Griffin is a notable British businessman, who founded Godskitchen, a dance music superbrand in the 90's, and Global Gathering, one of the largest annual dance music gatherings in the world. Latterly, he was a Director of British global clothing brand Superdry and was solely responsible for establishing the brand's presence in over 120 countries. He is also listed amongst the 50 most powerful people in online retail in the UK. Please could you reconsider deletion of this page, or provide further advice on how I can rewrite the article to meet expectations. Thank you. LWight (talk) 18:44, 3 May 2014 (UTC)

  • We felt the references were insufficient. I am happy to email you your text but read this. As a variant on my usual COI mantra, please tell me what other subjects you intend to write about here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 08:06, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

Thanks. I've read your page of advice and I'd like to revisit the referencing for this article and resubmit for your consideration. Please could you email my text and I'll work on the referencing today. Regarding other subjects, I have an interest in the contributions that lesser-known business men and women have made to the UK, specifically from digital channels such as online retail, media and television. It is likely that I will make several contributions over the following months. For instance, I intend to write about the founder of HIT Entertainment, who brought us Bob the Builder and Chuggington, amongst others. I hope this satisfies your query. LWight (talk) 08:39, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

Please could you kindly email me the text as mentioned above? I would like to revisit this in the next few days. Thank you. LWight (talk) 13:28, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

Thank you, I've now received it. Much appreciated. LWight (talk) 18:03, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

I have now revisited the referencing for this article Draft:Chris Griffin (Entrepreneur) and have improved both the reference sources and citations. I've submitted for further review today. I hope I've followed the appropriate protocol during this process. Thank you for your help thus far. LWight (talk) 15:37, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

Copyvio needs admin intervention.

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. ...or there will be one soon. Why?

Policy shortcut WP:DCV says,

"If a contributor has been previously clearly warned of copyright infringement but persisted, they may be reported for administrator attention to the administrators' incidents noticeboard."

I wrote here:

"... IIRC it's standard, for the article history to remain, for copyright reasons; we MUST give attribution. To the deleting admin, @RHaworth: please restore the history and merge properly in future. WP:Merge: "Merging pages does not require intervention from an administrator", but this improper merge does. WP:Copying_within_Wikipedia#Attribution_is_required_for_copyright guideline too.

Despite the ping and recent activity, the apparent copyvio persists; no history for RAGEMASTER because you deleted it. --Elvey (talk) 23:08, 3 May 2014 (UTC)

Ok, it's been >12 hours since you wrote that, and left...? --Elvey (talk) 20:41, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

Biochemic tissue salt

Hi RHaworth, I see the page biochemic tissue salt has been rendered a redirect page after it was tagged for speedy deletion on 21 April. I was not active on Wikipedia that time and could not contest the nomination. As far as I understand, CSD A10 does not apply here because it is not a duplicate of List of Schüßler cell salts. List of Schüßler cell salts is only a list of the 12 cell salts whereas the page biochemic tissue salt was intended to be the main page. The page has a lead; the page discusses the principles of cell salts, and I was going to elaborate the article by including their uses. All these are not covered and cannot be covered in List of Schüßler cell salts simply because it is a list page. The page Biochemic tissue salt is well-referenced, and has the scope to be improved. Now, if someone creates the list page first, it does not hinder us to create the main page. Would you reconsider the move please? I am looking forward to your reply. Thanks. -- AsceticRosé 15:26, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

  • So what action is needed that requires admin rights? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 00:03, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

I could not understand. Please clarify. --- AsceticRosé 16:13, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

  • Please look at the edit history. There have been no admin-type deletions on this title. All the edits are there in the history. So why does it need any action by me? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:36, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

Epigenetics of partner preference

Hi, I am a Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Texas at Austin. I would like to discuss your reasons for deleting the page epigenetics of partner preference. It seems that you think that this article was redundant with the page Epigenetics. However, epigenetics has become a massive field that is touching all facets of biology and behavior. As such, it seems appropriate to have an introductory page and page(s) that focus on specific topics in which our understanding has recently expanded.

The Epigenetics of Partner Preference page was a semester-long project by three undergraduate students. It contains information and explanations that are not contained in the current Epigenetics page.

The reason that the students did not just add to the Epigenetics page is that we thought that doing so would highjack the page and change its focus from a general introduction to a highly focused discussion of one topic.

The students did include a general introduction of epigenetics within their document-perhaps this is what led you to flag it as redundant? They included the general introduction so that the page could be understood on its own. However, the bulk of the article did not overlap with the Epigenetics page. Perhaps, the general introduction should be removed but the page itself kept?

This students were encouraged to write this article to contribute to the common good and advance the general public's understanding of epigenetics. Does the wikipedia community prefer that students not be encouraged in this manner?

None of us are experienced contributors to wikipedia. However, I am an expert, and my students are very well informed, in the field of epigenetics.

Please note that the Epigenetics of Partner Preference page was not a vanity page. My own field of expertise is the epigenetics of alcoholism. Thanks, Theflyelectric (talk) 22:07, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

  • The last state of the article is now at User:Michellegarza/sandbox. The phrase "insult to Wikipedia" springs to mind: "we are not interested in learning wiki markup, we just want to publish our essay". Before you do anything else you must convert all the links to Wikipedia articles to proper wikilinks. Having done that, you could raise the matter at deletion review but I suspect it will be rejected as original research. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 00:03, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

HNL 15

It's Real. NHL 15 is not a hoax. EA announced it and the NHL are actively promoting the cover vote. TheGRVOfLightning (talk) 08:00, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

  • Why should the Environment Agency announce it and why should the National Hurling League be promoting it? And what on earth is a cover vote? Ie. do not talk in abbreviations. The entire content of the article was: "NHL 15 is a game similar to nhl 2k09 so fuck off" but it did not even have the wikilink. If you create a proper article it may well stick. But it might be better to wait until the game is actually released. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 08:56, 7 May 2014 (UTC)
