Tolland02 - self-promoter

Mr. Haworth, Thank you for your interest in Wikipedia. I appreciate Wikipedia because I spend most of my life here getting information for fictional novels. My last novel INVASION USA, I must have spent 1,000+ on Wikipedia researching the past, present and future. My books have sold over 12,000 copies, my ebook Reader downloads, another 1,000 just this year(2011). In the US I am beginning to get known. I might not be famous like J K Rawling, but many people mention my futuristic description of the world and where its going. May I suggest, Sir (and my Grandmother lived in Purley and I have walked barefoot from Purley to Croyden, where my uncle (retired) still lives) that you read my latest novel. If you think it's not worth while, then I will gladly accept to be removed from Wikipedia. Email me at [redacted] and I will send you a copy. I can send you a PDF.file, or Kindle or Android file (ePub or Mobi) so that you can read my fourth novel on any EReader. Sincerely, — Preceding unsigned comment added by TOLLAN02 (talkcontribs) 23:35, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

  • Wikipedia is not the place to promote yourself or your novels. When you become notable someone with no COI will write about you here. The words are J K Rowling and Croydon - e-mail me contact details for your uncle and I will look him up. May I suggest that instead of dreaming up fictional novels, it would be more productive to write real novels? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:52, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Yes , my Uncle ran and I believe used to be Mayor of Croydon, his name was Derek Millard. I wish you good day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TOLLAN02 (talkcontribs) 12:50, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Nepal Risk Reduction Consortium move

Dear RHaworth, I am inquiring as to why the Nepal Risk Reduction Consortium (NRRC) was moved to NRRC (without redirect).

When I conduct a Google search for the NRRC or Nepal Risk Reduction Consortium, I am directed to the deleted page. I am concerned that most people will simply close this page without selected the NRRC link.

Is it possible to have the page redirected automatically to the active page so people will have a chance to read and understand this important initiative about disaster risk reduction in Nepal. Thanks for your time and contribution, -- 202.52.246.210 (talk) 04:01, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

  • Count yourself lucky - I normally ignore anonymous messages. There is clear policy that we do not need a title like Nepal Risk Reduction Consortium (NRRC). We put the article on the full name as I have done and for the initials we create a redirect as I have done or add them to a disambiguation page. Google has now found the article on the full title. I am surprised how low it is in the list - Google usually places Wikipedia articles near the top of any search. Unfortunately a Google search for NRRC currently only returns the deleted title - and way down the results list. I do not see any justification for changing things - in future you will know to keep name and intialism as separate Wikipedia titles. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 08:36, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Wufoo

I believe Wufoo is of enough significance to require a WP page. I'm happy to improve/enter into discussion about whether or not this is a defensible position. So why have you deleted it and NOT provided a discuss this speedy deletion link in accordance with WP policy? Can you provide such a link? If not I will recreate the page (and try to improve it) until it is either accepted or a proper discussion can be entered into. In good faith, The Yowser (talk) 08:11, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

  • What is a "speedy deletion link". The whole point of speedy deletion is that it is for articles so bad that they do not need discussion before deletion. Yours was, I admit, borderline between speedy and AfD. But it was derisorily short (it had even less text than the previous version - e-mailed to you) and lacked links to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. I suggest you create a proper article and submit it via AfC. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 08:53, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Oh I see. As I said as a new person it's not always easy to find explanations and the page had disappeared compeltely hence not seeing the copvio thingy. I'll re-write the PG article. JJ Money Stub

Hi, I'm new to Wikipedia and I would like to create a stub for JJ Money. However, I have checked and there is no article under this title but there is a notice saying that an article has been deleted under this name. Your talk page was listed for me to contact you, and I was wondering whether you would be able to direct me in any way. Thanks, K1078 (talk) 13:48, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for your response. Firstly, I should say that I am completely new to Wikipedia, so please accept my apologies if I've misunderstood the purpose of the talk page. I noticed that you had proposed removal of the HIFA2015 page and I thought that I should respond to you by providing some reasons why it should be retained.

If I understand you correctly, this is not actually necessary; it's better to just go ahead and make amendments? If that is the case, I'd be very grateful for any more help you can give as to how the article could be improved to adhere to Wikipedia's requirements.

Thanks again, Martin Carroll (talk) 14:55, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

  • Yes, as I said in the AfD nomination, "rather short on independent references". But did you not see when you wrote the above, that others have had already done your job for you? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:23, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Online Ambassadors: Time to join pods

Hello! If you're planning to be an active Online Ambassador for the upcoming academic term, now is the time to join one or more pods.

Extended content
(A pod consists of the instructor, the Campus Ambassadors, and the Online Ambassadors for single class.) The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) explains the expectations for being part of a pod as an Online Ambassador. (The MOU for pods in Canada is essentially the same.) In short, the role of Online Ambassadors this term consists of:
  • Working closely with the instructor and Campus Ambassadors, providing advice and perspective as an experienced Wikipedian
  • Helping students who ask for it (or helping them to find the help they need)
  • Watching out for the class as a whole
  • Helping students to get community feedback on their work

This replaces the 1-on-1 mentoring role for Online Ambassadors that we had in previous terms; rather than being responsible for individual students (some of whom don't want or help or are unresponsive), Online Ambassadors will be there to help whichever students in their class(es) ask for help.

You can browse the upcoming courses here: United States; Canada. More are being added as new pods become active and create their course pages.

Once you've found a class that you want to work with—especially if you some interest or expertise in the topic area—you should sign the MOU listing for that class and get in touch with the instructor. We're hoping to have at least two Online Ambassadors per pod, and more for the larger classes.

If you're up for supporting any kind of class and would like me to assign you to a pod in need of more Online Ambassadors, just let me know.

PS: There are still a lot of student articles from the last term that haven't been rated. Please rate a few and update the list!

deletion of IIT HOME

I feel there should exist a page on IIT HOME since there is a page on FIITJEE, which is also an eductaional institute of India. IIT HOME is really one of the best institutes of Maharashtra so I request you to reconsider about your decision. – Shyamli rao (talk) 05:27, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

  • From the "Welcome to … impelled by a mission to restore back the glory" to your signature at the end, your submission was hopelessly unencyclopedic. Also, it was a straight copyright violation from their website. If you can demonstrate that this cram school is notable, study existing Wikipedia articles for style, etc. (FIITJEE is not a good example - nor indeed are most of the others in category:cram schools in India.), prepare a draft and submit it via AfC. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 08:08, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of directed panspermia

Hello RHaworth, I submitted a WP page on directed panspermia and it appears to have been deleted because there is already a panspermia page. However, it concerns mostly natural panspermia, while directed panspermia is different, as it concerns the deliberate spreading of microbial life in space. Specifically, we shall soon be able to plant life in new solar systems, with basic consequences for future life on cosmological timescales. This has been the subject of peer-reviewed research articles, and is also generating popular interest, for example, a recent article in New Scientist, discussions in maganzines, on radio, and on many websites. The subject is evidently noteworthy. The article is also well documented with 28 references to scientific literature.

The subject involves technical considerations of interstellar travel including launch, propulsion and navigation; target selection; mechanisms of capture; selection of microbial payload, icluding extremophiles; and the survival of microorganisms in space and in new planetary systems; selction of microbial payload. Also signficant are ethical considerations of motivation and possible objections. These subjects are reviewed in my submitted article but far too extensive for a section in another article.

Please read the existing directed panspermia section under panspermia and the submitted artcicle, and I trust that you will agree with these arguments. Therefore, I would like to request that the submitted article should be reinstated.

I hope that this is the right way to contact you and request reinstatements. Please let me know if I need to do anything else, and if so, please explain in non-technical terms as much as possible what should I do and how to do it. Please post the answer on my user page or e-mail. Thanks, AbrahamDavidson — Preceding unsigned comment added by AbrahamDavidson (talkcontribs) 00:26, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

Consideration In My Opinion At The Moment - Also, The Minimal Mention Of "Panspermia#Directed_panspermia" In The Present Main Panspermia Article Does *Not* Seem Sufficient For This Very Important Topic In My Opinion - That Said - In Some Ways, The Material In The Newly Proposed "Directed Panspermia" Article Seems Similar In Basic Notions (in a much more extensive way of course) To The (less extensive?) Geograph tags

Thanks for the note. I had to guess which tag to use in circumstances you have noticed when putting a Geograph picture into an appropriate category. Could you advise which tag should be used?

Photos from the Geograph project (which provides the best photos out there) have mostly been uploaded by a bot which of course cannot work the Category out and so they come with a template tag beginning "{{Uncategorized-Geograph| ", which contains the necessary detail of location and date. When I have put a Category on such a picture, all I do is to remove "Uncategorized-". That seems to do the trick, and certainly it leaves a valid template with the information about the picture. Is that not correct? Deleting the whole "{{Uncategorized-Geograph| " tag, much of the information is removed, so I am not convinced that you are right. — Howard Alexander (talk) 21:51, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

  • I assume you are replying to commons:User talk:Hogweard#Geograph. It might be useful to create a {{gbmapping}} tag using the full 6 figure grid ref rather than the 4 figure one in the {{Uncategorized-Geograph| tag, but if the description contains a {{Location dec| tag then creating a gbmapping tag is not vital. Apart from that, what other useful info. is there in the {{Uncategorized-Geograph| tag? And it most certainly must not be converted into a {{geograph}} tag which serves a totally different purpose. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:05, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

Foregen

I've put together a new article for Foregen, a non-profit advocacy group. I believe I have addressed the concerns raised by previous administrators and would like to submit a new version for approval. Thank you! My new version: User:Zerth11/draft. Zerth11 (talk) 03:05, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

  • At least eight people have decided the group is not notable. So you must raise the matter at deletion review. The problem is that the group is inherently non-notable - the vast majority of circumcised men are, I believe, perfectly happy with it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 08:26, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

Okay, thanks! I'll look into the deletion review process. Also, I'm not sure about those other two accounts you mentioned (SSpaiser and Theknowledgeofthewiki). This account is the only one I've ever signed up for or used. Zerth11 (talk) 03:05, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Foregen. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Zerth11 (talk) 03:14, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Hello RHaworth, the file you deleted is my own, original work. I am the photographer, and I hold legal ownership of the image. The file has been deleted before I have even had a chance to contest the speedy deletion nomination. Please advise on this situation; I will monitor your talk page. Thanks. (I had posted a similar message to Logan's talk page, as notifying contributor, but have not had a response yet.) Janggeom (talk) 08:02, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

Hello again RHaworth, I am aware you are a busy person (being an administrator), so I appreciate your time in responding. I could meet your request to upload an original image file (with EXIF data intact)—but I choose not to, as I consider that this would compromise my rights as a photographer too significantly. Some photographers might be comfortable with releasing their original files for all and sundry to edit; I am not, having had poor experiences with this kind of thing before. As an alternative, the rheetkd.com website's director/owner has agreed to be contacted directly by Wikipedia or its representatives to verify that I (Janggeom) am the photographer who created the original image and holds copyright on it. You are welcome to contact rheetkd.com, ask to speak/correspond with the person in charge, and present your question from there, if you so choose. Separate to the issue of truth, my granting of permission to rheetkd.com to use the image predates my granting of permission to Wikipedia to use the image, so from my point of view, if one of the two has to be rescinded then it will be my permission to Wikipedia. If for any reason my moral and legal ownership of the image is not sufficient to restore the image for use on Wikipedia (under the terms specified when I first uploaded it to Wikipedia in 2007), so be it. I understand your position on being dubious about my assertion of authorship. Thanks again for your time. Janggeom (talk) 15:45, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

  • If you want your images to be on Wikipedia, then you must supply evidence of permission being granted by rheetkd.com. If you forward an e-mail from rheetkd.com to you onward to "permissions-commons AT wikimedia DOT org", that will probably suffice. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:51, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

If I am able to arrange for an e-mail message to be sent to Wikipedia to verify my assertions (to a degree that would satisfy any reasonable person), and request that it is brought to your attention (as deleting administrator), will you help facilitate restoring the image to its former state (including original upload data) by undoing the deletion? Thank you. Janggeom (talk) 13:44, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

  • Please do not insult Wikipedia by uploading thumbnails. If you are not willing to release the original version, you can at least upload this 600×400px version. Please do so to the Commons; give it a more meaningful title than you used originally; apply the {{OTRS pending}} tag and send the appropriate e-mail to the address above. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:26, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Hello RHaworth, I understand your perspective. Thanks for the pointers above. Janggeom (talk) 01:50, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

Which Christian Martin

Dear Mr. Haworth, Here is my earlier attempt to contact you: Christian MartinDear Mr. Haworth - It appears you deleted my page: Christian Martin. May 7th, 2011. I accept that I may not be much more than a notable person but I have appeared in books, won Emmy awards, written newspaper articles, etc. I went to add a link today and the page was gone. I neglected to sign it. Apologies I am now logged in. I am interested in adding two articles and a panel to my page. But it is no longer there. Can you tell me how to re-instate it? Also is it logged somewhere so I can retrieve some information off of it? Thank you, Christian — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cmastrangelom (talkcontribs) 23:17, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

  • I really don't believe it! You actually reproduce my words "does not say which Christian Martin" but still do not say which Christian Martin. Have you actually noticed that Christian Martin is now a disambiguation page? How am I to know which Christian Martin you are talking about? What two articles are you thinking of adding? "Off of" - yuk what an horrible phrase - what is wrong with "from"? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:33, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
He is Christian Martin (television executive). My reason for saying this is that his first request referenced major television-related awards. Also when he speaks of adding two articles I'm pretty sure he means adding two outside articles (also known as reliable sources) as references. When he made his first request I looked him up and saw some evidence that he probably meets Wikipedia's standards for noteability. Back then (when I believed he did not have an account) I left a message with suggestions on the IP talk page. Unfortunately, it appears he never saw this. RHaworth, if you point him towards Articles for Creation or whatever process you prefer, I'd be willing to work on the article.
Cmastrangelom, there are some rules and points of ettiquette you need to be familiar with. Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations might be a good place to start. I'd also reccommend WP:COI. I'll be glad to help you with the article as long as you're willing to follow the Conflict of Interest suggestions and policies. I'd also be glad to give you some general help in figuring out Wikipedia. Cloveapple (talk) 16:06, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
I didn't do the pointing because I've never used AfC, just helped new users on talk or article pages, and I'd noticed in past messages that you had preferences for which part of AfC to refer people to. (I see you've edited my comments to include an AfC link.) The reason I pointed to Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations in this situation is that it's a specific list of reccomendations for people who might have COI. Thanks for the additional point to the bio page. Dale Deardorff

Your prod on Dale Deardorff was unfortunately removed by the author of the article. I sent it to AfD, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dale Deardorff, and also see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Think-tion) DGG ( talk ) 03:03, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

With regards to this article, I have removed the 'does not meet eligibility' tag since I most definitely believe that - along with all the other top 20 Business Schools in Spain as listed in the objective EDUNIVERSAL ranking cited in the article -it most certainly deserves to be included in Wikipedia and part of the category:business schools in Spain

Please note that - prior to my contribution - FUNDESEM was already listed in the Wikipedia list of business schools in Europe. If this article was to be deleted, the whole list of top 20 Spanish business schools should be deleted by the same token and that would result in a serious impoverishment of Wikipedia.

If you see any mistakes or factually incorrect information I will be most grateful if you point them out to me so that I can do my best to correct them as soon as I am able to. As I have indicated, I intend to contribute further in the list of Spanish business schools for the general improvement of the information therein contained. Very best regards from Spain. ODS40 (talk) 12:23, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Thank you, I will strive to do so in the following days, though I believe that comparatively speaking it is much better referenced than some of its peers in the same category. Thanks once more for your help. ODS40 (talk) 13:01, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

You speedy deleted this article yesterday as copyvio. It has been recreated again by the same user. Should have AfD'ed it

I only created Honoré N. Razafindramiandra because User:Harilanto kept pasting it into the Biography article. But I'm fairly certain that Harilanto will remove the PROD, so you should have just taken it to AfD. Would have saved a bit of time, at least. Oh, and you might want to put the PROD notice on Harilanto's page, since it's really their article and text. SilverserenC 11:00, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

  • Sorry about the {{proposed deletion notify}} on your talk page - blame it on Twinkle! The prod was removed by an experienced editor so I am not going to bother with AfD. Hi, I wanted to let you know I have challenged your A7 on Kilauea Military Camp. Speedy deletion declined: Lucky Hodnett

Hello RHaworth. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Lucky Hodnett, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7: "The First Two Singles off the Alblum sold over 1million Copies" is a credible assertion of notability. Thank you. (talk) 22:22, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Sustainable forests

Can you please give me more information as to why National Report on Sustainable Forests - 2010 was deleted? This is my first article and I felt I had done quite well at verifying any statement I made in the article. Regarding it "nobility", I presume you are referring to verification that the National Report on Sustainable Forests is referenced to by other sources. Again, I thought I had accomplished this in suggested further reading. The UK and New Zealand have produced similar reports and I am hoping this article will serve as a model for similar articles from these and other countries that have developed similar reports.

I would appreciate any guidance you can give to me as I find the Wiki guidance rather overwhelming and very "dense". Thanks. Rob Hendricks (ForestSFM) — Preceding unsigned comment added by ForestSFM (talkcontribs) 15:29, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

  • It would be reassuring to know that you had actually absorbed the existing information. I am going to be slightly childish and say: please read carefully the deletion log entry and reproduce here any words which look like a reason for deletion. If you do not understand them, I shall be happy to expand. I can assure you that nobility is not an issue - there are countless articles here about subjects which many would consider ignoble. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:37, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Regardless of all the Wiki instructions I have read, I guess we both agree I've not absorbed what I need to. I think I have read the material you linked me to. That seems to be "it is an essay with a POV from which a cogent WP article would be difficult to retrieve, and it is about a report of doubtful notability". That is not totally clear to me, nor anyone else I have shown it to. I am not sure I have been able to find a Deletion Log that tells me much more than that. I found another page that seems to be streesing that I use of References which I did not use in the article as I used Internet links to show my source of facts. I assume the article didn't read like nonsense to you. The person who wrote the Wiki article on Sustainable Forest Managment advised that perhaps the article sounds like a "sell job" for the National Sustainability Report. Perhaps so, as I was trying to make the article "compelling". If that is an issue, then writing a generic article on all forest sustainability reporting would address your issues with the article. Please advise. ForestSFM (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 01:00, 31 August 2011 (UTC).

  • I agree that the deletion log entry might seem cryptic to a newbie but I wanted to be sure you had actually read it. POV = "point of view"; WP = Wikipedia. The person writing those words, Alan Liefting (talk · contribs) is saying that the article is written from a very biased viewpoint. My view was that rather than being an article about the report the article was an over-log restatement of the report. The report was of doubtful notability. I suggest the best treatment would be one short paragraph about the report in the United States Forest Service article. So who is this person who allegedly wrote an article on sustainable forest managment? We do not have such an article but it would probably be a good one to start - if you can manage to write from a neutral point of view! I can see no justification for a separate article on forest sustainability reporting. You may well find that Alan Liefting can offer you some suggestions as well. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:10, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Thank you. I can work with that input. I misspelled Sustainable Forest Management (actually couldn't see the tiny text) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sustainable_forest_management I will try to get input from Alan Liefting regarding "very biased" as I backed everyone of my statements with a source. Apparently he found the article "compelling" so I made some progress. As a New Zealander, he may have some forestry sensitivities.

With all due respect, I do not understand your reversion of my speedy delete request on this user subpage. The user has been blocked, the subpage will never become an article, and, as you yourself stated, the move request is laughable. So, what do you suggest, in all seriousness, be done with this page? ---RepublicanJacobiteTheFortyFive 23:03, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

  • You had tagged it with {{db-nouser}} which was patently false. Strictly speaking, the A in A7 implies that it should only be used on articles. But since you raised the matter, I invoked WP:SNOW and zapped it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:31, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of Tyrone Noonan

Why did you delete Tyrone Noonan? He was the singer of the Australian band George (band), who had a #1 Album in Australia in 2002. The George article clearly links to him, and Ty's article immediately described him as a member of the band. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Walkabout12 (talkcontribs) 18:37, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Yes, I can see that the expanded article (as cached by Google) contained promotional material as well as a terribly non-encyclopaedic bio. Nonetheless, he is somewhat notable in the Australian music scene and seems to have been the subject of several independent articles eg. http://tyronenoonan.com/press/1st-press-post. - User:Walkabout12 01:42, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

  • Why bother to tell me? Just grab the Google cached version before it disappears and follow my suggestion of deletion review.

I only discovered the cached version after you told me of the history. Plus, I was curious as to why you would delete it rather than just give it a notability tag. User:Walkabout12 09:50, 31 August 2011 (UTC) I deleted it because I dislike slovenly editing. Neither you nor Howzitgarn had even managed the usual clutch of links to Facespace, Mytube, Youbook and Twitter (not that any of them are evidence of notability). — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:10, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi there RHayworth and Walkabout12, I apologize for this. I realize now I am quite ignorant of wikipedia's guidelines, and I should have done more research before posting. Walkabout12, I really appreciate you "going to bat" for me here. Unfortunately I am so busy right now and do not have time to fully educate myself about wikipedia to try and save this page. I would appreciate any efforts you could make. And you obviously know I'm not making any information up! It just obviously needs to be sourced/referenced correctly. Speedy Deletion: Tyrone Noonan

Hello RHayworth, I realise now I should have done my homework with regards to wikipedia etiqutte in my recent attempt to update some of the information already provided by another user on the Tyrone Noonan page, and I understand why my information and thus the whole page was deleted. However, I am wondering if there is any possibility of reverting back to the previous information posted by the other user which obviously adhered to the wikipedia guidelines? Even though some of the info is out of date, it would be better than having nothing at all. Thanks for your time. Howzitgarn (talk) 19:20, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

  • Why mangle my name? Is it really too difficult for you to copy-and-paste it? I am very reluctant to be seen to re-instate an article totally devoid of independent references. I will change my advice slightly: grab the Google cached version before it disappears; add some references to reliable sources and simply re-instate the article. Why do both of you keep talking about it and not doing anything? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:55, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Deletion backlash

Hello, I'm not sure why you opposed deleting User:Norfolk-Tours/Wymondham Bridewell, the user was blocked indefinitely not long before, probably because "Norfolk Tours" is a promo username. Plus the page is more like reading "personal memoirs" than an article. I wasn't going to give it a particularly promising RFF review, that's for sure. Doesn't seem any point to me in keeping a userpage for a blocked account.

Regardless, the reason I stopped by: just a heads-up that the guy whose article I flagged this morning that you deleted, on "Black Holes at the Centre of the Universe" - the wide one full of OR - is kicking up a fuss on my talk.. baffles me how a man can claim to understand all of creation, but not wiki policies. He claims he has "lost access" to his copy.. bla-bla the normal nonsense. I've directed him to WP:UNDELETE, should it arise. Seems your talk is full of people whining about deletion, so I guess you're used to it by now..

Cheers, Ma®©usBritish [talk] 01:43, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

  • I am not noted for being gentle with newbies, so perhaps I have no right to talk but I think that slapping a G1 on this article was pure, unadulterated newbie biting - the article was a long way from being encyclopedic but patent nonsense, absolutely not. Also the block applied was {{softerblock}} which specifically states "you are welcome to create a new account" [and come back and continue to improve your article]. This is one of the few cases where the author might become a Wikipedia editor if you talk to them nicely and nurture them. I hope you have not frightened them off. Yes, I am fully accustomed to "why did you delete" - and sometimes ruder - messages here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:48, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Clampco Sistemi

Hello RHaworth. I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Clampco Sistemi to a proposed deletion tag, because I do not believe CSD applies to the page in question. I believe A7 was on weak grounds due to the claim of being "leader in the development of aircraft warning light systems" which may or may not be true but might be worth a longer period for others to consider the sources available (esp. non-English ones). Thank you. (talk) 06:56, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Dear RHaworth, I saw that you ereased the page that I created. I don't understand where you see the promotional tone: I was actually very carefull to write down the history of this Italian company and little more so it would't be promotional in any way. I was just trying to create an encycolpedic page for the company, as it is present for many other companies (even smaller ones). Could you please tell me what I'm doing wrong and maybe help me in getting it right? Thank you! Mikimill (talk) 07:44, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Dear RHaworth, Samofi (talk · contribs) is a Slovak nationalist editor who hates Hungarian pages. Principality of Hungary deserves an own page. Fakirbakir (talk) 15:01, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

I did read it, however it is not a proper solution to ask it on page of history of Hungary. I was who wrote about it a year ago when somebody wanted to split a page Talk:Hungarian prehistory#split, but editors are too lazy to read talkpages. User Samofi wanted to delete page of Hungarian invasions of Europe as well. And you "defended" him.... Fakirbakir (talk) 15:17, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

When you protected that page you (involuntarily)'supported' his point of view (User Samofi). I know you do not want to participate in this debate, but that page will harm nobody. Principality of Hungary covers more than 100 years in connection with Hungarian history (before the established Christian Kingdom) and we do have 2 or 3 sentences about this theme.Fakirbakir (talk) 15:43, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

CSD A1 on Together!

Hi again, wanted to let you know that I challenged your WP:CSD A1 on Together!. It seems clear enough to me that the article is about a record album, I don't think it is eligible for deletion under criteria A1. I have applied some maintenance tags to the article, and have no objection if you would like to use an alternative deletion process. Monty845 04:33, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

iMAR GmbH 03. Sept 2011

Hi, why have you deleted my page without any reply on my comments? Please give me the file back for editing, as it is totally lost and not accessable! Please tell my why it had been deleted, as it is not advertsing but showing our market leadership as seen in the latest version of the site. Best regards, Edgar v. Hinüber --Edgar v. Hinüber (talk) 20:50, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

  • OK, perhaps not blatant advertising but not much assertion of notability and a total absence of links to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. The ridiculous title did not help either - what was wrong with IMAR GmbH as a title? You can certainly have your text - read this. But I would strongly recommend you not to re-post it: kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks the company is notable and writes about it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:32, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Lwizyàn - deletion

Hello, Mr.Haworth this is of course about the deletion of my wiki article/page, The Oligarchical Republic of Louisiana (Lwizyàn). Even though i some what understand why it was deleted i would like to ask fully why this happened and for the text, i'm working on this project and well the text to me is very valuable, i would like accesses to this if possible. Only for the absolute understanding as to why my article was deleted i want to ask you, i know of a few other articles that are just like the one i created, based upon the same reason and topic, i received the idea to create my article due to this fact. Was it that my sources weren't listed, excuse me if so. With the restoration of my article i could list them in one sitting, my editing time is just some-what limited so i contentiously put that task off to add more to the article its self. Other than that factor i dont know of any other reason my article would be deleted, I saw that you listed my article as a, "G3: This includes blatant and obvious misinformation, blatant hoaxes (including images intended to misinform), and redirects created by cleanup from page-move vandalism." In my case this is not true at all, As described in my article many people from Louisiana have longed for the allowance/ opportunity to reign as their own, this is absolutely "fact" based, not only am i one of those people but as are my relatives and fellow Louisianians, entire communities might i add. The information that i posted quiet frankly came from the living source, i could list online document sources to this as well if requested. What i stated was far from a hoax, it was the true and direct listing of those that are pushing for the formation of this new country. If the article is not un-banned or re-enabled, may i have access to the material, it is needed. - Thank you. Formally; Ervyn Ademandeaux (ORLwizyan (talk · contribs))

Ok, i can understand that, may i ask for the information displayed on the page to be e-mailed to me. I would appreciate this. Though my information can not be verified through a third party and the trouble necessary to find one is quiet varying, for this act has only local and online bases further identification of our campaign will thrive else where, the information from the article would make this process easier. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ORLwizyan (talkcontribs)

  • I e-mailed you the text already. Have you received it? What more do you want? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:19, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

Do you not know/understand that i dont know if you e-mailed it to me or not unless you say you have. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ORLwizyan (talkcontribs) 23:22, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

  • Did you see my words above "text e-mailed"? Do they suggest anything to you? Have you checked your e-mail? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:26, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

Pacific Union College Church article

Hello. I'd like to move the PUC Church article [1] out of SDA project space to main space. (I've been working on the Pacific Union College article and the Church should be the most important building on campus). BelloWello isn't around any more to disrupt. Can you help me do it? I almost did a cut and paste, but you probably know a better, cleaner way. Thanks. --Kenatipo speak! 03:49, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Clampco Sistemi

Hello! In order to keep the page existing, some references were added to the institutional page. I want to underline the fact that this company is a small one in Italy, that's why you couldn't find a lot of references on GNews. I think those references could be enough to justify the presence of the page from an encyclopedic point of view...and if you don't agree, I hope you would tell me how to improve it! I really think that this page should be existing, and I'm taking responsibility to improve it so it can be considered encyclopedic. Thank you for your time and all the tips you would like to give me!
