Merge discussion for Cliff Hangers

An article that you have been involved in editing, Cliff Hangers, has been proposed for a merge with another article. If you are interested in the merge discussion, please participate by going here, and adding your comments on the discussion page. Thank you. Gh87 (talk) 20:30, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

Eh? This article's AfD, one in which I already !voted 'merge', has closed as 'merge' and that merge has taken place. There does not appear to be a live discussion in which to participate. (I did just fix up the oldafdmulti template on Talk:Cliff Hangers since it was improperly formatted and linked, but anybody could have done that.) - Dravecky (talk) 03:21, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

Did you Know help

Hello. I need some help with getting some recognition for article I've created. I would like to have User:KAVEBEAR/Kingdom of Hawaii – Kingdom of Tahiti relations on the did you know page. But I'm not sure how the process works and I'm not sure if the article is worthy of one. Please help. Respond on my talk page because I probably won't check your talk page. --KAVEBEAR (talk) 05:08, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

This one time, I'll respond on your talk page. Please note in future that if you initiate a conversation on my talk page (or continue this one) I will only respond on my talk page to keep the conversation in one place for ease of reading, tracking, and archiving. If you can't be bothered to take a few seconds to put my talk page on your watchlist for a day or two, I'm not sure how much of my very limited time I should be dedicating to your requests. At the moment, you're much better off asking on the DYK talk page since I'm taking a break from DYK issues and will likely not be re-engaging until some real-life commitments have concluded in late September. - Dravecky (talk) 12:43, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

Look at you swooping in and having my back - I could not figure out the other piece to that change for the life of me! Thanks! Mlaffs (talk) 13:11, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

No worries! Not snooping on you (this time), just happened to have one of those stations under construction on my watchlist. All that swapping of callsigns can make this a tangled mess, especially when the FCC cancels one of the permits. - Dravecky (talk) 21:05, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Research into the user pages of Wikipedians: Invitation to participate

Greetings,

My name is John-Paul and I am a student with the University of Alberta specializing in Communications and Technology.

I would like to include your Wikipedia user page in a study I am doing about how people present themselves online. I am interested in whether people see themselves in different ways, online and offline. One of the things I am looking at is how contributors to Wikipedia present themselves to each other through their user pages. Would you consider letting me include your user page in my study?

With your consent, I will read and analyze your user page, and ask you five short questions about it that will take about ten to fifteen minutes to answer. I am looking at about twenty user pages belonging to twenty different people. I will be looking at all user pages together, looking for common threads in the way people introduce themselves to other Wikipedians.

I hope that my research will help answer questions about how people collaborate, work together, and share knowledge. If you are open to participating in this study, please reply to this message, on your User Talk page or on mine. I will provide you with a complete description of my research, which you can use to decide if you want to participate.

Thank-you,

John-Paul Mcvea

Interview with Wikimedia Foundation

Hi Dravecky, I hope you're well. My name is Aaron and I'm one of the Storytellers working on the 2011 fundraiser for the Wikimedia Foundation. For this year's campaign, we're interviewing as many of the very active and productive Wikipedians as we can to broaden the range of appeals we run come November. I wonder if you would want to tell me more about your experiences editing and writing here? If so, I'll ask you your personal story and I'll ask you some general questions about Wikipedia. Please let me know if you're interesting by emailing amuszalski@wikimedia.org. Thanks! Aaron (WMF) (talk) 23:21, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
