WIR article creations[edit]

Hi Saqib. Thanks for your email. I hope you don't mind me replying here. You can tag new articles as part of Women in Red by simply adding {{WIR}} to the talk page. Unlike other WikiProject banners they don't do assessment etc., so it's nice and easy. Good luck with your resolution! – Joe (talk) 12:38, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

January 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Elektricity. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Imran Khan, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Elektricity (talk) 07:59, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Elektricity: Have you bothered to check the sources before sending me this generic message? --Saqib (talk) 08:05, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Saqib every single one of them says its an unverified claim that is denied by the people close to Imran Khan. We do not include speculations WP:CRYSTALBALL. If it is indeed true, confirmation will be given, without confirming, we should treat this as gossip column junk. btw you should check out this source https://www.thenewstribe.com/2016/07/12/imran-khans-third-wife/ as well. Sounds familiar. I could not find any better(less harsh) message in the Twinkle drop down, and I was too lazy to just write my own and include the link etc. Elektricity (talk) 08:10, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Elektricity: I do not consider The News Tribe as a RS but the one I cited The News is a reliable one. WP:CRYSTALBALL also states "Predictions, speculation, forecasts and theories stated by reliable, expert sources or recognized entities in a field may be included." The story in The News was carried out by a well known investigative journalist Umar Cheema and I deem it authentic. --Saqib (talk) 08:17, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Saqib I think you may have missed the date on the source I quoted. It is july 2016, so this kind of news has been on the air for quite some time and we should wait until it is confirmed before putting it in the wiki article. I mean the article is not going to go anywhere, why put in something that may or may not be true, let's wait for like 48-72 hours and if it is confirmed we can put it in. Elektricity (talk) 08:22, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) @Elektricity: You said " the claim is denied by the people close to Imran Khan." For your information, Khan himself denied the reports of his second marriage with Reham Khan in December 2016 2014 before confirming it later in January 2017 2015 so I am not surprised if Khan or his aides would deny fresh reports about the former's third marrige. Well I still believe the information should be mentioned under the "Family and early life" section, if not in the infobox. --Saqib (talk) 08:27, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Saqib You are quite right just not about the dates of course. The information about the marriage was added in december 2014 not 2016, but it was thrown out quickly and it was not until he confirmed the rumor that the inromation was added back in. (Is Daily mail considered a reliable source btw? Thier standards of journalism are pretty abysmal. Why should we not wait for the inclusion. I eman are there any reasons as to why we cannot wait 2-3 days? Elektricity (talk) 08:35, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Elektricity: Well Daily Mail was not considered unreliable until February 2017. By the way, I have rewrote the para and re-added the information. After all this particular marriage speculation has been making the noise since last year so I deem it necessary to note down, regardless of truth keeping in mind WP:TRUTH. --Saqib (talk) 09:08, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Saqib Well good riddance, they publish really substandard stuff. I have added the information from 2016. I think marriage rumors are a regualr gossip with this guy. Elektricity (talk) 14:01, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Elektricity: I think you have added some unnecessary and unwarranted detailed information, but otherwise it looks OK. --Saqib (talk) 14:12, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Saqib I removed the quote, looks fine to me other wise. Elektricity (talk) 15:00, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Original Barnstar
Great work Saqib! Mohsinnaseem (talk) 10:19, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Saqib-- Thank you for your e-mail of January 9. You had asked "I just wanted to check with you if this (WP:KITTENS) is a policy and creating mass articles are really forbidden?" The answer is that it is not a policy, but a summary of what's been the custom in creating articles en masse, based on common outcomes (WP:OUTCOMES) in the Articles for Deletion process. It's not a strict policy. There's a disclaimer at the top that says "This page is an essay" and "not one of the Wikipedia policies or guidelines".

Creating mass articles isn't forbidden, but in many cases it's discouraged. It's not discouraged in subjects where notability is automatically presumed (such as Wikipedia:POLOUTCOMES, where it's stated that a state or provincial legislator is presumed notable without having to demonstrate being well-known).

As a summary says, "Stub articles can be useful, but avoid mass creating stub articles." What brought it about years ago is that people would create lots of articles in a matter of a few hours, with no citations or links, and often with only one sentence, about things like every municipal police department in Nebraska (like Alma Police Department, "The Alma Police Department is the police department in Alma, Nebraska") or every large street in the city where they lived ("62nd Avenue is a street in St. Louis, Missouri located between 61st Avenue and 63rd Avenue"). The most infamous was the "Nation X - Nation Y relations" articles where someone was creating pages that they had no intention of working on, like Andorra—Nauru relations. Creating these was easy, but evaluating their merit case-by-case was a long process.

So, WP:KITTENS is not a rule, but it is a word of advice concerning the likely outcome in the Articles for Deletion debate. Summed up, if you choose to create a series of articles, you have to be prepared for the chance that they will be nominated for deletion and that you'll have to defend them (and I've had to defend my creations on numerous occasions). It's best to make sure that they have substance. If you want an opinion on an idea (and it's just that, an opinion) please click on my talk page. Mandsford 14:16, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Mandsford: Thank you for your detailed response. Hope WP:KITTENS doesn't apply to my latest stub creations today. --Saqib (talk) 21:14, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Saqib, plz correct the deletion nomination. It is not second nomination but the first one.Ominictionary (talk) 07:08, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ominictionary: But I think it is second because of this Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aseefa Bhutto Zardari. By the way, I am curious why would you create BLP on Aseefa but nominate the BLP on Bakhtawar for deletion. --Saqib (talk) 07:16, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Relating me with Akhuwat[edit]

I found Govt official resources to show you the notability of Akhuwat and you tagged me as a closed person to the organization. This is how to check Govt links of Akhuwat and Google News. I am not guiding you, I just telling you how I did. I have added many Article about Govt departments and universities, It never mean Govt is paying me for doing this. I hope you understand I adding a positive contribution. I just want to tell you Benazir Income Support Programme which is a large program for poverty allevation funded by Govt of Pakistan is operating under Akhuwat.--EShami (talk) 11:50, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@EShami: An organization is considered notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, and independent secondary sources, not in government sources so please don't use government sources. Not only they violates WP:PRIMARY SOURCE, they also trigger WP:COI and compromise the WP:Neutrality of the article. Government sources would obviously glorify anything about government-run projects and due to very same reason BISP page on Akhuwat unsurprisingly states "Akhuwat, world’s largest interest free microfinance program." --Saqib (talk) 12:00, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion[edit]

Hello there. Hope you will be doing fine. I need suggestion to organize MPAs biographies. Which one would be better, Category:Punjab MPAs (2013–18) or Category:MPAs Punjab (2013–18) or any other. Your suggestion would be helpful. Thanks. Störm (talk) 14:22, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Störm:, I think the former would be fine. Are you going to categorize the hundreds of BLP's that I have created today? --Saqib (talk) 14:25, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Saqib Maybe, I'll try to categorize. What are your thoughts? Störm (talk) 14:28, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Störm: I would say go ahead. --Saqib (talk) 14:29, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Störm: Are you sure all the BLPs that you moved from Category:Members of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab to Category:Punjab MPAs 2013–18 were of MP's elected in 2013? --Saqib (talk) 18:01, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Saqib I tried to correctly categorize all BLPs accordingly so, I'm sure they are 99% correct. Störm (talk) 18:04, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Saqib Sorry for the disturbance. Are you done with Category:Balochistan MPAs 2013–18 because currently there are 42 articles in this category whereas total MPs are 65? Störm (talk) 18:14, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Störm: We've BLPs on all 65 but the rest are not created by me so you have to find them. This will help. --Saqib (talk) 18:18, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Samina Khan for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Samina Khan is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Samina Khan until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.  M A A Z   T A L K  09:27, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate tagging[edit]

  • Article Muhammad Arif Butt has sufficient RS mentioned. Please avoid inappropriate tags. Thank you.  M A A Z   T A L K  17:07, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ma'az: Not everything in that page is cited and the tagging is warranted. The article claims "Butt did his B.Sc. (1970) and M.Sc. (1971) in chemical engineering from University of the Punjab and later received his Ph.D (1978) in chemical engineering from Nagoya University in Nagoya, Japan". I cannot see the mention of year 1970, 1971 and 1978 in the cited PDF source. May I know why are you adding original research to a BLP? --Saqib (talk) 17:12, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Not each and everything can be referenced on Wikipedia. Only important things are referenced. We cannot demand references for all trivial things. If you think that's the problem, you can remove the dates.  M A A Z   T A L K  17:16, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Why not? For your kind information, no original research allowed on a BLP. Everything must be cited to a RS. --Saqib (talk) 17:18, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Important things are referenced, other things are left on editing skills. Not everything is referenced.  M A A Z   T A L K  17:23, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Do you consider DoB important? Did you cited it? No. --Saqib (talk) 17:31, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
So, if I remove DoB, than I can remove the tags. right?  M A A Z   T A L K  17:59, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No. The page still carry your original research. --Saqib (talk) 18:03, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've seen that you have removed all the OR work but you have still not removed the tags. Can you please remove them and end this little controversy between us. Thank you :) .  M A A Z   T A L K  18:36, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This is where you have done redundant tagging. Even after removing OR work yourself you still haven't removed the tags. Even though you yourself stated here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Edit_warring#User:Ma'az_reported_by_User:Saqib_(Result:_) " I've removed some OR but the page still contains some. I'll resume working on it tomorrow and remove the tags when I am satisfied that there is no more original research". What do you mean by tomorrow?  M A A Z   T A L K  17:59, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ma'az: I've removed the tags for now but seriously this BLP needs additional references independent of the subject for verification. --Saqib (talk) 18:12, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Thank you for that :) . I'll try to make this article better, without any OR work.  M A A Z   T A L K  18:31, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Primary Sources[edit]

Please don't remove primary sources. Primary sources can be used to support content in an article.  M A A Z   T A L K  17:25, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Removing notability tag from page of 'Rizwan'[edit]

SohailTanveer91 (talk) 17:51, 29 January 2018 (UTC) Respected Sir Saqib, I saw your post on my talk page. The reason I removed this was I saw the notability standard of public office holders. The subject page's citations have in-depth as well as substantial mention in leading newspapers and government websites. The wikicritera states that the subject should national or sub-national office. Sir, the subject is the chairman of the country's national flag carrier, one of the most coveted slot and popular offices in the country. I hope the points I've raised upon examining the notability criteria are substantial and you will agree with me and remove the tag. You are a much more experienced wikieditor so it's your call at the end[reply]

I added ‘’underlinked’’ tag because at that moment the article only linked to one article, National Assembly of Pakistan. You undid my edit on 26 Jan with note that it’s already linked with 3 (but it was only linked to one article at that time). After reverting my edit today, you linked the article with 4 more links and after that you left a concocted message on my talk while intimidating me. See diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Farhat_Mohammad_Khan&diff=823118442&oldid=823117531. Before you added the material there was just one wikilink, see diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Farhat_Mohammad_Khan&diff=823117531&oldid=823020868. Why don’t you say in simple words you want me to be blocked? This is deceptive and wrong. Read https://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Terms_of_Use/en#Refraining_from_Certain_Activities.  M A A Z   T A L K  17:50, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ma'az: I may have misread the tag but still the tag was not warranted. The underlinked template says "Please help improve this article by adding links that are relevant to the context within the existing text." I am curious why would you tag a one-liner article with this template when basically there is nothing to link to. --Saqib (talk) 18:01, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I am new to AWB and this was what suggested by it. I'll take care with one-line articles next time.  M A A Z   T A L K  18:33, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Red[edit]

Hi there Saqib and welcome to Women in Red! It's good to have a new member who is interested in covering Pakistani women. I see that you have recently added quite a few women politicians and that you have been adding Template:WIR to their talk pages. You might like to use Template:WIR-00-2018 instead; it's for #1day1woman, allowing coverage of women which are not specifically covered by priorities for the month. You can then also list your new articles on the #1day1woman page, which will make it easier for us to publicize your work. If you run into any problems or need assistance, please let me know. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 16:05, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Saqib and Tdslk: I've noticed some inconsistencies with the number of seats won and the majority. According to the Pakistani general election, 2013 article, PML(N) won 166 seats, which is below the 172 for a majority (ie: 342/2+1). 19 independents joined PML(N) bringing them up to 185 seats, 13 more than the required number. The math works for all of that. But the list article says PML(N) won 188 seats; was this a typo of 166? – Reidgreg (talk) 18:52, 17 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Reidgreg: I am glad you took notice of this. As per this Dawn report, PML-N bagged 126 seats in May 2013 election + 37 reserved seats for women and minorities. 18 independent candidates joined the PML-N later. --Saqib (talk) 06:59, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Bushra Manika requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Presidential election[edit]

Hi I think we should create articles about presidential elections in Pakistan between 1965 and 2004. --Panam2014 (talk) 23:05, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Masterpha: are you interested? --Saqib (talk) 17:20, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sure! It will take some time but of course it would help. The current state of articles around presidential elections in Pakistan give the impression that there were no elections between 1965 and 2004, which is untrue. Masterpha (talk) 20:49, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies[edit]

Sincere apologies about the edit war or if I had upset you by reverting your edit, I was not aware of the edit war rule and I should’ve discussed it on the talk page of the opinion polling page. I hope that we can put our differences aside for our common goal of improving and creating new pages related to pakistan in the future. Masterpha (talk) 16:53, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Krishna Kolhi[edit]

On 8 March 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Krishna Kolhi, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Krishna Kolhi is the first Hindu Dalit woman to be elected to the Senate of Pakistan? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Krishna Kolhi), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Articles of people not notable[edit]

You are creating large number of articles about Pakistani member of federal or provincial parliamentarian. In most of them, you only have one or two reference. You have added reference [1] in articles Shahnaz Ansari is not even mentioned. In case of Shaheena Sher Ali, only Shaheena is mentioned. If I see something like this, I do not need your permission to edit that articles. Most of these people hardly notable. In most cases, this is what you have done. You used pas.gov.pk and couple of other websites where their name is mentioned. It is classic case of single source BLP. I am not disrupting, I am just trying to improve article. --Spasage (talk) 13:40, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Spasage: All federal or provincial parliamentarians are presumed notable even if completely unsourced. But sourcing articles correctly is important for WP:V and WP:BLP reasons. Prince of Thieves (talk) 13:53, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Can you please point me to wiki policy which says this. Only creating two lines articles does not make any sense. There should be some material. One can create list of parliamentarians page.--Spasage (talk) 14:16, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Spasage: I suggest you please get yourself acquainted with WP:N. I believe I've properly sourced each and every BLP I've created and not a single BLP is unsourced or cite dubious reference. And for your information, Shehnaz Begum and Shahnaz Ansari is name of same person. See this. --Saqib (talk) 14:22, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Spasage: the policy is WP:NPOL, but it is only one specific part of WP:N. Prince of Thieves (talk) 14:36, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Prince of Thieves: I copied this from WP:NPOL People are likely to be notable if they meet any of the following standards. Failure to meet these criteria is not conclusive proof that a subject should not be included; conversely, meeting one or more does not guarantee that a subject should be included.. So, it is likely that politician are notable, not sure. Politician should demonstrate notability. Being politician is good start but is only one criteria. Obviously politician have some level of notability, but they still need good deal of press coverage to be considered notable. Articles about politicians which @Saqib: is creating are in most cases not notable. There is no press coverage in most cases. Secondly, in most cases only one reliable source is used, other sources are articles with only name mentioned. Not sure, how notable this makes a person. --Spasage (talk) 15:29, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Notability is not the same as verifiability, there is roughly no chance of any of these articles being deleted at AfD as long as the fact that the subject held a national or provincial elected office is verifiable. This is because the press coverage is presumed to exist, and proving coverage in a language most editors here don't understand doesn't exist is hard. Prince of Thieves (talk) 15:36, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Do not agree with you on this. Article should have some content. These lesser-known politicians can be put in a single article. There is not much content on the internet about them. So, whats the point of article. --Spasage (talk) 16:04, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Spasage: If you've concerns regarding current notability policy, I suggest you please take this issue somewhere else (preferably NPOL. --Saqib (talk) 16:12, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Spasage: Do you not know about Wikipedia:Stub? Short articles are encouraged as useful starts to valid topics. Prince of Thieves (talk) 16:14, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Spasage: Those stubs can be easily expanded if you put some efforts, instead of making unnecessary fuss here. --Saqib (talk) 16:18, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Saqib: So make them stub. Whey they are not created like this. There is no need to be personal. If you are not doing something incorrectly, I have all the right to point it out. I still do not agree with creation of these articles and would recommend not to keep on creating them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spasage (talkcontribs)
@Spasage: I'm not getting personal, but you're definitely exaggerating stuff on my talk page. I believe my creations are perfectly fine and complies with the guidelines. If you feel my creations are not OK, please take this issue somewhere else, but please avoid populating my NS, unnecessarily. --Saqib (talk) 16:34, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

NICL[edit]

@Saqib: The information about NICL scam mentioned in Moonis Elahi page is incorrect. It says that "NICL scandal during his father's tenure as the Chief Minister of Punjab". The citations of this source is not supporting your information and not saying that this scam has happened in his father's tenure as the Chief Minister of Punjab. It was not happened under his father's tenure of Chief Minister it was happened when Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was the chief minister of the Punjab. Kindly correct that. Thanks. --Shahzad.bhatti.pk

@Shahzad.bhatti.pk: But this news item says "during his father's rule as the all-powerful Punjab chief minister". --Saqib (talk) 18:50, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Saqib: Does this link [2] qualify as a news item? This is not a news item, it is published as a letter to editor from an anonymous person. I think that you research more before establishing your point. I have seen your many edits and all are very much researched and authentic but in this particular case you are not right. Give it a thought. Thanks. --Shahzad.bhatti.pk (talk)

@Shahzad.bhatti.pk: And what do you have to say about this news item? It says Elahi "was accused of appropriating around Rs 320 million from the scam during his father’s tenure as Punjab chief minister." --Saqib (talk) 13:51, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion criteria[edit]

I have declined your speedy deletion nomination of Office Régional du Tourisme SAVA. There may be good reasons for deletion, but it did not come anywhere remotely near to satisfying either of the speedy deletion criteria you specified. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 14:15, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Noted @JamesBWatson: I don't know which language is this so to me it looked gibberish. If this is not some gibberish, then indeed some promotional and non-encyclopedia stuff which is created by someone relates to the subject (User:Ortsava). --Saqib (talk) 14:24, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
For what it's worth, I think that not being written in English should be a speedy deletion criterion on English Wikipedia, but it isn't. (The equivalent is a speedy deletion criterion on many Wikipedias in other languages.) Because it isn't, I quite often have to spend time using tools such as Google translate to determine what articles in languages I don't know are about in order to determine whether they should be deleted, but just the fact that you or I don't understand a foreign language doesn't mean it is nonsense, so that speedy deletion criterion is not valid. In this case the language is French, which I do understand, so I'll go back and have another look to see whether it satisfies some other speedy deletion criterion. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 14:44, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@JamesBWatson: OK, so I didn't knew about this one. Will surely make sure to use Google Translate next time. I believe this one fall under G11. What do you think? --Saqib (talk) 14:53, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I think it was clearly created for promotional purposes, but it isn't blatantly promotional enough for G11. However, another editor has moved it to user space, so I think at present the best thing is to leave it there and see whether it gets improved. Your speedy tags[edit]

Hi. Like JamesBWatson above, I am concerned that some of your CSD tags are being placed too hasty, and are incorrect.

Today, you tagged Stanley Leisure for CSD A7 ("No indication of importance") one minute after creation. The article only stated the company title; presumably because the new user just wanted to save the page and was potentially in the process of adding details. I did a quick search and found a news report in The Guardian that mentioned the casino. Specifically, placing {{db-person}} was definitely incorrect; this is the name of an organisation, not a person.

In general, if you see an article that doesn't look like it can be improved, check for sources first. Even if you're not sure of where to place them in the article, park them on the talk page and hopefully somebody will look into it. Additionally, aside from G3 (vandalism), G10 (libel) and G12 (copyvio), there is generally no need to tag for speedy deletion quickly - it's best to wait 10-15 minutes to see what the creator is going to do. Pakistan articles[edit]

I applaud your efforts in this area. Coverage of Pakistan-related topics in English Wikipedia is patchy, and often very poor.

It is often much worse in the major languages of Pakistan. For example, compare Waqar Younis, ur:وقار یونس and pnb:وقار یونس. (Wasim Akram is another example.)

If you speak one or more of those languages, you might like to consider translating your additions to English Wiki into those languages (and making InterWiki links). I spend most of my time repairing links to disambiguation pages. (That's how I found you - there was a {{disambiguation needed}} tag on Ismail Shah.) I often look at corresponding articles in other languages for help (Google Translate is a wonderful thing). I have consulted more than 130 different Wikis; and have only once found useful information in Urdu Wiki, and never at all in either Punjabi or Western Punjabi. (If it's any consolation, that means that I have found more useful information in Urdu Wiki than I have in Hindi!) Regards, Narky Blert (talk) 09:51, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Project Tiger Writing Contest[edit]

You might want to complain to make a helpful suggestion to the organisers of Project Tiger Editathon 2018. The last time I looked, there was more than one country in the Subcontinent, and there were more major languages than those listed there.

I have found useful information in Nepali, Sinhala and Urdu Wikis - especially Nepali, there are useful (if stubby) articles in it about towns which are in no other Wiki.

That Editathon has some very strange priorities. I have seen articles suggested for topics which would be specialist even for native English speakers. In the nature of things, English Wiki will always be the biggest Wiki; but IMO non-English Wikis should be world-class on topics important to people who speak those languages. Get them right there, and they can be translated later.

The suggested areas for improvement in the Indian-language Wikis omit something rather obvious. Cricket. Where will the Wikipedia editors of tomorrow come from? Kids who grew up in villages watching IPL stars while learning English as a second language, that's who. Narky Blert (talk) 21:07, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 18:26, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sir, in the discussion for the page "Aryan_Saha" you have opined that it should be deleted. There are some recent changes in the article. Sir it will be great if you can take out time and check the page again. Being much more experienced Wikipedia editor, you can also suggest me the mistakes / corrections, both for now and future. FATA-KP merger[edit]

FATA is currently under the jurisdiction of the president of Pakistan and authority has not yet been handed to the KP government. Therefore the boundaries of FATA and KP remain as they are for now. Please keep this in mind with your edits and wait for the change to occur before prematurely updating articles.Avg W (talk) 17:21, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Avg W: Constitutionally, FATA has been now merged with KP so all is good. --Saqib (talk) 18:17, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a source confirming this? The latest news appears to be that the president has signed the interim governance bill, but has not assented to the amendment yet. I am looking for a source that specifically states the president has assented to the Constitution (Thirty-first Amendment) Act, 2018 and I haven't been able to find one.Avg W (talk) 18:33, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Avg W: Please revert the maps because President has now signed the merger bill. --Saqib (talk) 14:05, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Refrain from reverting[edit]

Please refrain from reverting my work. I am providing credible sources to my work. I am impartial on Pakistani politicians pages. No claims added in my work, but source well. I don't see you adding any valuable material to this BLP. You're unnecessary littering the Infobox and citing some unreliable sources. --Saqib (talk) 08:15, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Dude, can you not read English? just write? Please, read the source before removing. You are unnecessary war of words. Read before write. Please! Please, take a moment to read then decide. Sources are there. No BLP or what you have just mentioned.
I think you seriously need to consult Wikipedia:RS. --Saqib (talk) 09:49, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries[edit]

Can you be less critical and quarrelsome with your edit summaries? Some of your edit summaries about stuff of little importance give an impression that you are fighting some kind of war! When I made that invisible change obviously I did not know that that guy is not going to take the charge plus it being inside info tag, it could be changed any time. If he was not nominated why did not you object before. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 08:06, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@SheriffIsInTown: And why don't you have some patient and wait until we've confirmed information about who is incoming Chief Minister. Care to tell why are you in hurry ? --Saqib (talk) 08:52, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It does not matter, the change was in the info tag and no matter what the change is, you do not have to slap the other editor in the face when there is a more polite and temperate way to do things. Did I upset you with something? Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 09:11, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm curious why would someone add something in a BLP in the first place which is not true. And amusingly you decided to lecture me just because I said hold on your horses but you yourself have been doing it all along and no offense. Its irony you think I'm being critical, quarrelsome, and impolite with you. Excuse because I've no time to argue here. --Saqib (talk) 09:36, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Saqib You do have Google notifications on and you know it was true. He was confirmed on 28 May but his name was withdrawn on 30 May, if you did not have knowledge of his nomination, I am sure wherever you learned from about his name withdrawal, that source must have mentioned about his prior nomination. It's not about "holding your horses" phrase, it’s about overall impression of your edit summary in comparison to my last edit. First, assuming bad faith, that the change was knowingly made wrong by the other editor and secondly slap in the face tone of your edit summary. And between your two edits, my edits were only to correct his middle name and that too inside the info tag, that makes your edit summary overboard. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 10:33, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Lets WP:DROPTHESTICK because I'm busy editing BLPs on MP's which according to someone should not be here in the first place. --Saqib (talk) 13:12, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Page title after delimitation[edit]

Hi, Pages about constituencies of Pakistan need to change after delimitations. I want to suggest names/title of these pages should not contain city name or area. Area name should be mention in the page.--Ameen Akbar (talk) 02:33, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@امین اکبر: Sorry to jump in, but consider me a stakeholder in this matter as I have been working on constituency pages and I think they must include the city or area names as that is what their WP:COMMONNAME is and has been for ages. See User talk:Wiki.0hlic#Delimitation for more, a lengthy discussion has happened already! Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 03:05, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@SheriffIsInTown: Thanks for reffering discussion. NA 178 is now NA 182, please merge or redirect NA-178 Muazaffargarh-III to NA-182 (Muzaffargarh-II).--Ameen Akbar (talk) 04:14, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@امین اکبر: Wiki.0hlic moved it to NA-184 (Muzaffargarh-IV), according to them 178 is now 184 and they used this as a reference. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 08:14, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@امین اکبر:, most of Muzaffargarh's constituencies have changed and there is no simple translation from the old number to the new one. The new NA-182 contains areas from old NA-176, NA-177, and NA-178. Please see these pages for further info Wiki.0hlic (talk) 10:55, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Wiki.0hlic: When no one old constituency lay a claim on a new constituency, we should have kept old pages as is and created new constituency pages for new constituencies and mentioned in there how it came into being taking areas from two or three old constituencies. We should only move pages when there is a straight constituency to constituency swap, for example just number is changing but physical area staying same. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 13:36, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@SheriffIsInTown:, that's exactly what I have done. Unless there is only a minute change in area. For instance, Muzaffargarh retains only two of its old 4 constituency pages. Constituency NA-176 and Constituency NA-177 were abolished, but their pages are still there. Meanwhile NA-181 (Muzaffargarh-I), NA-182 (Muzaffargarh-II), and NA-183 (Muzaffargarh-III) were created as new pages to give the district its current number of 5 constituencies.Wiki.0hlic (talk) 15:29, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry Saqib, @Wiki.0hlic: So, why NA-55 is inheriting NA-57 while it contains half of NA-59, should not we have kept old NA-57 intact and created NA-55 anew? Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 15:37, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's a very valid point, @SheriffIsInTown:. However, when I moved these pages, I went by the logic that the major makeup of the new constituency is from its spiritual predecessor (NA-57), with the smaller portion being of NA-59. This is why the application of candidates for the new NA-55 and NA-56 are heavily inclined towards individuals that previously contested from the old NA-57 and NA-58 respectively. With old NA-59 candidates playing second fiddle. Wiki.0hlic (talk) 19:30, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@SheriffIsInTown:, @Wiki.0hlic: I think its creating more confusions. Yes some part of old NA-178 are now part of NA-184, While most parts of NA-178 are now NA-182. So, in this case redirection of old pages to new ones could not portry actual situation regarding area. I think you should discuss it again. I suggest there should only one page with name "Constituency NA-178". in this we could mention old and new areas in election 2013 and 2018 headings. Another suggestion, leave old pages as they were, create new constituency page and mention area and election result.--Ameen Akbar (talk) 00:51, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@امین اکبر: If the things are the way you describe then I agree with you that we should keep the old constituency page for 178 and have separate new pages for 182 and 184. Is it possible that 182 got very minute area from 178? I will wait for Wiki.0hlic's reply and will try to fix'em up. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 01:41, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Many prominent areas like Khangarh / Khangarh Town Committee, Meharpur and Shah Jamal were part of NA-178, now these are in NA-184. Muradabad and Rangpur area were in NA-176, now these are in NA-182. These are not small changes. --Ameen Akbar (talk) 02:12, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@امین اکبر: You seem to be confused. If no areas from 178 went to 182 then current articles are good. In your comment you only mentioned areas from 178 going to 184 and from 176 to 182 and that's how the articles are at the moment. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 03:52, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Dear @SheriffIsInTown:, other area which i dont mentention in my previous comment changed to NA-182. I am residing in former Constituency NA-178 and now Constituency NA-182. Major area of Constituency NA-178 is changed to Constituency NA-182. However, some prominent places of Constituency NA-178 changed to Constituency NA-184.--Ameen Akbar (talk) 04:18, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@امین اکبر: - then the current articles are correct. Here are the maps for both new and old delims for visual verification. You can clearly see that the major area shifts are in concurrence with the current constituency pages. CC SheriffIsInTown. Wiki.0hlic (talk) 19:19, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Wiki.0hlic:, SheriffIsInTown Sorry, I could not further argue about this. But I think we should not redirect old names of abolished constituency to new created ones. Abolished constituency is part of history now --Ameen Akbar (talk) 19:51, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@امین اکبر: I understand, I will manually change the redirects, automatic move will always redirect to new pages. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 19:55, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have not provided any personal information and general information that you cannot find on google or YouTube. Being an avid follower of Arab science-fiction in the Middle East I don't see the reason why you have flagged this article for deletion. The movie The Sons of Two suns that you have mentioned went direct to video, has never been released on video, since its an independent festival circuit short film. Secondly, the maker of the first science-fiction to come out in the region was written and directed by this director S. A. Zaidi, so I am not understanding how that does not qualify him as a Director according to you? Please explain. I don't have any personal materials on the director everything I have given is taken from the internet and various recognized newspaper articles. Please explain which newspaper or website is unauthentic according to you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robotictrance (talkcontribs) 23:40, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why don't you let others edit? Why do you revert every edit I make as If all are articles are yours? I try to edit and every edit is just deleted. Man I provided source from gov site. The numbering of PM's does not stops at 13. Every PM takes oath and starts his term as a new pm. A PM who has previously served doesn't continues his previous term, he is also new pm according to constitution. See this list on gov site. From this list if we separate caretaker pms then the correct number will be what I am adding but you just delete my edit. The gov's official site is the main source. Replaceable fair use File:Rana Zahid Hussain.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Rana Zahid Hussain.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Warm Regards, ZI Jony (talk) 16:48, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well I haven't said anything wrong, no need to get offended. Anyways same info was written on every site out of which I cited this one. It was a good faith edit, also everyone knows these things abt him but still u need more credibility... ;/ (Usama Ahmad 10:29, 22 July 2018 (UTC)) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saamikhan01 (talkcontribs)

'Old' sock case[edit]

Hello Saqib. Recently I was browsing through old SPI cases to see if I could find any to close. I came upon Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Arionofaghan which was opened by you back in April. Though a checkuser was run, it did not find any smoking guns. Have you run across any of these accounts more recently, and do you think there is still a problem? I notice that WP:Sockpuppet investigations/HorseManJack was closed with some blocks. If there is still no definite conclusion we can draw in the Arionofaghan sock case it might be closed with no action. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 00:00, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Review of article Kiran Tabeer[edit]

Thanks for reviewing my article. I will remove all unreliable sources, and will add some more references from reliable news. However, can I know if I am allowed to remove deletion tags, since you have reviewed it? Thanks Knightrises10 (talk) 19:43, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Shafqat Mehmood[edit]

I found this page with insufficient information so took some time to add some credible information but changes are reverted by you. Kindly let me know why you have done this? CR Guru PK (talk) 20:26, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@CR Guru PK: Please do not add unreliable sources, especially not for living people. --Saqib (talk) 20:58, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Saqib: I think Pakistan Times and Pakistan Herald are pretty much credible sources. And if you go through details of information and do some research you would know that it is 100% true and genuine.Being a wikipedian, I think this page should be expanded as Shafqat Mehmood is quite influential politician in Pakistan. You're senior to me and I respect that, so don't want to get into conflict with you. So I request you to kindly reconsider your action. I know senior editors are very careful and you're doing the same but you should consider someone's effort because it takes time to edit some article and we do it volunteerly. Hope you'll reconsider my request. CR Guru PK (talk) 06:21, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@CR Guru PK: I appreciate your understanding but for your kind information, both Pakistan Times and Pakistan Herald are considered not reliable sources. You need to study WP:RELIABLE. I'll try to expand this biography sometime later and cite some credible sources. --Saqib (talk) 06:29, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Listas[edit]

FYI, I think you forgot to update the listas parameter when you were copying-and-pasting the WikiProject templates for new talk pages for Pakistani politician articles back on July 30. They are all listed as 'Ullah, Shafi'. Lepricavark (talk) 17:42, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

¿Qayyum Ansari?[edit]

Hi! Have you seen this name written on any film's article? Please do something for that, it became se annoying at Load Wedding. And similarly, there was another name "Komail Shayan". They promote themselves on wikipedia and do not provide sources if they had worked in the film. Thanks! M. Billoo 01:26, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please check List of Pakistani films of 2018, there is also his name. And, the page has poorly sourced re-addition of Maula Jatt 2, and the drama awards - 6th Hum Awards. Can these mentioned pages (linked here) be protected from these edits? Thanks M. Billoo 01:37, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@M.Billoo2000: Thanks for letting me know of this. It appears Qayyum Ansari is trolling around. I've removed this name from a couple of pages. You can ask for page protection if he comes back. --Saqib (talk) 12:38, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Help: Page moves[edit]

Hi! One more help I needed. There are some pages that need to be moved to their correct name, few of them I remember:

May be I have forgot some pages. I didn't move myself because I was afraid as I had made mistake while moving Template:iTunes, it just needed a redirect then. Thanks! M. Billoo 13:45, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Please also check Shuja Haider (singer). He is much more popular than Shuja Haider (cricketer), whose bio isn't even enough to be dab with the singer's. Like, see Imran Khan (disambiguation). While editing CokeStudio11 page, I found out some nore to be corrected: (per CS YouTube)
Also, I request you to please check my sandbox, the original page for CS11 was under suspection of Earwig's Copyvio Detector.
One more request, irrelevant to the topic. Please check the latest edits on page Momina Mustehsan. Thanks! M. Billoo 16:46, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

New editor to Wikipedia. Not trying to be disruptive. Please help...[edit]

Hi Saqib,

As you can tell, I'm new to editing in Wikipedia. I'm trying to factually update a stub on a politician, as I also care about factual representation on Pakistani politics.

If you notice, every time you remove ALL of my posts, and make a comment, I go back and fix them. The first time, I added citations from legitimate web sources (admittedly, it took me one or two edits to get this right)

Now you have said that I'm plagiarizing, and I"m very happy to look again to make sure this is not the perception! Please allow me to continue to edit, until we have a page that is satisfactory.

I'm not deliberately trying to disrupt, and would like to be a good community member. Can you please bear with me, while I learn? AnonymousTraveller8888888 (talk) 10:50, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@AnonymousTraveller8888888: Sure. And I was trying to make sure no one add unsourced material to BLPs and engage in copyright violations. I'll work on this bio. --Saqib (talk) 10:54, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@AnonymousTraveller8888888: You might want to read Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright for a quick primer on copyright rules on Wikipedia. You need to write material in your own words, and the stuff you were adding to that page was just too closely worded to the material on that site. I'm glad you want to help! ~ Amory (utc) 11:24, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Amorymeltzer I would happily fix this, but it seems Saqib has blocked me from making edits... AnonymousTraveller8888888 (talk) 12:02, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't blocked you. --Saqib (talk) 12:05, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The page was protected by a sysop, so why don't you make an edit request on the talkpage (Talk:Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra) and a reviewer or Saqib can assess it. ~ Amory (utc) 12:36, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Revert[edit]

Once a jackass, always a jackass. I was expecting your revert. BTW, why weren't you consistent with the titles of List of members of the 15th Provincial Assembly of Sindh, List of members of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (2018–23), ‎List of members of the 17th Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, List of members of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan (2018–2023) ??? 39.57.203.41 (talk) 07:15, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Liborbital, you can rename the page if you know the ordinal number of incoming Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan assemblies. --Saqib (talk) 07:43, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why not use proper names so other editors can find them and don't do the double work?[edit]

You created Iqbal Masih (politician) using a source which does not have Iqbal Masih anywhere but have James Iqbal there and many other sources do as well. Not finding James Iqbal, I went ahead and created James Iqbal. What do you want to do with this now? His proper name is James Iqbal. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 16:15, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@SheriffIsInTown: For most of the pages, I consulted more than one source to be sure about the correct name. As per the ECP notification, his name was Iqbal Masih. I ran G'search to find more about him but found nothing. Yesterday, Mar4d and I created Tanzeela Qambrani and Tanzila Ume Habiba Qambrani, respectively at about same time. --Saqib (talk) 16:34, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Most of the Christians in Pakistan add Masih after their name, it is possible that his name is 'James Iqbal Masih'. — Bukhari (Talk!) 16:46, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
We should use the WP:COMMONNAME which is the name that prevails in most sources discussing the subject. Note that the name cited on ECP documents may not necessarily be the WP:COMMONNAME. Mar4d (talk) 16:51, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Off-course. James Iqbal and Tanzeela Qambrani appear to be common names. --Saqib (talk) 16:54, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
ECP folks make a lot of mistakes most of them being nominally educated, always prefer other sources over government sources if there is conflicting information. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 17:26, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I always do @SheriffIsInTown:, but as I said above I did G'search to find more about Iqbal Masih but to no avail. --Saqib (talk) 17:38, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

When you remove a LinkedIn reference from an article such as Nisar Ahmed Cheema, please be sure not to remove other references by mistake. I restored the references from reliable sources that you removed. Eastmain (talkcontribs) 02:04, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

Dear Saqib, UrduPoint has backlinks and sourcelinks on many RS sites. Examples are Dawn, UNESCO, UNODC and RT. I can provide many government officials website links that source urdupoint. Is this enough to make urdupoint notable? if yes, please remove notability template from UrduPoint.--Ameen Akbar (talk) 20:27, 18 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Saqib, I think this is enough to establish notability. Please remove notability template from UrduPoint. Thanks. --Ameen Akbar (talk) 22:22, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Shah Mehmood Qureshi[edit]

You seem to have reverted my revision about Shah Mehmood Qureshi taking office as foreign minister on 20 August. What is the reason for this? Sources clearly state that he has been nominated for foreign minister and the cabinet will take oath on 20 August so why wait in saying that he will assume office on 20 August? маsтегрнатаLк 23:32, 18 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The same has also been done with Asad Umar. If it is clear that they are becoming ministers what is the point in removing their offices? I am not saying that they have become ministers I am placing the dates that they will assume office маsтегрнатаLк 23:34, 18 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Masterpha Sorry to interrupt, but you should not change date now. You should change it after he becomes foreign minister. Suppose PM IK give SMQ another ministry, then you will have to change it all, so you should wait.--Ameen Akbar (talk) 23:57, 18 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@امین اکبر: It is perfectly fine for you to interrupt, but IK has already announced SMQ and Asad Umar’s ministries and even if he gets another one we can just add that one on. маsтегрнатаLк 00:03, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This is announced decision of PM IK, we should wait for signed decision or official announcement for awarding ministries. Here official mean Govt. of Pakisan.--Ameen Akbar (talk) 00:58, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Source for announcement?--Panam2014 (talk) 01:08, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Panam2014: Notification from the Cabinet Division. --Saqib (talk) 08:15, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker)@امین اکبر: We do not wait for official government announcements as we are not answerable to any government. We just require reliable sources. As far as I am concerned there are reliable sources stating that elected PM of Pakistan has announced ministries and portfolios and that is good enough for us. I was thinking about adding that to infoboxes myself but saw Saqib already adding that information in the article bodies and thought he can do the infoboxes as well, as I did not have drive when I saw that half of the part is already taken care by one editor, he can do the rest of it as well. Now, I hope you are not thinking that Masterpha is trying to add that they are already ministers. As I understood, he is just adding that they are assuming office on 20 August which is correct and should be allowed to be added if an editor wants to do that. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 02:17, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@SheriffIsInTown: OK got it. Thanks.--Ameen Akbar (talk) 05:05, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Masterpha: You know you need to cite a RS when you add something on a BLP. You've been adding unsourced material and therefore I reverted your additions. @SheriffIsInTown: I've no problem if anyone states in the BLP that "XYZ has been named as Minister for XYZ ministry" but we shouldn't start updating the infoboxes unless ministers swear in and cabinet division issue notifications. Having said that I've removed the latest additions from the infoboxes. --Saqib (talk) 05:54, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Saqib: Sources are not required in the lead if there are sources elsewhere. There is a page about the cabinet with sources. Lead does not always require sources. маsтегрнатаLк 09:03, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Masterpha: I know that, but where did you or others added sources in the body here? --Saqib (talk) 09:05, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Saqib: ok sure maybe i didn’t add it in the body, but what was the purpose of reverting it completely? Whatever, what’s done is done: If I add a source in the body about him being nominated, could I add “assuming office on 20 august” for umar and qureshi? Regards, маsтегрнатаLк 09:09, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Masterpha: The reason of revert was clear. You added unsourced material to a BLP and I reverted it. I would suggest you to not update the infoboxes unless they swear in and the cabinet division issue notification . You need to understand they are nominated, not elected. --Saqib (talk) 09:12, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Saqib: Ok ok ok, i mean this in a totally non aggressive or argumentative way but is it possible for the PM’s nominations to be rejected? Just a question... маsтегрнатаLк 09:15, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Masterpha and SheriffIsInTown: This is something you guys should check out. In 2008, a couple of Pakistani newspapers including Dawn reported Abbasi would be given the ministerial portfolio of Defence Production and the same was added to this Wikipedia entry. And guess what Abbasi never assumed the office of Minister for Defence Production but because of the misinformation on Wikipedia, this misleading information spread like wild fire. --Saqib (talk) 09:25, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Saqib: I totally disagree with you on this. When you already added a source in the article body which states that they are nominated for the said ministry then why are you requiring an additional source from Masterpha or anyone else who wants to add same information to the infobox, this is a collaborative work, we can rely on sources added by other editors. Also, I disagree that we need a cabinet division notification for this. We just need a reliable source stating that they are nominated. At this point, it is perfectly okay to add that they are assuming office on 20 August, we are not saying that they already assumed office. As for your example of 2008, it was not our fault, the responsibility falls on the sources which reported wrong information and if something like that happens again then someone can go in and remove the information like you are doing now so instead of reverting Masterpha or anyone else now why don't you wait until you have a reliable source stating that the information is wrong before removing it. We are not responsible for wild fires instigated by third party sources. If you have a doubt on their reliability then it will be a good idea to disqualify them at WP:RS and then in future we will all rely on cabinet division notifications. At this point the elected PM's word as reported by RS's is more official than anything else. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 14:36, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@SheriffIsInTown: Though I'm not convinced with your argument, but for the sake of compromise, I'm fine with expanding the infobox. Guess this is not something to brawl over. --Saqib (talk) 15:35, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Balochworld (talkcontribs) 17:44, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You're also adding original research. For instance, you wrote Ali Wazir received his early education from Wanna and studies Law at Gomal University, DI Khan. However the source you cited does not verifies it. --Saqib (talk) 09:15, 25 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"Wazir was born into a family that was part of the anti-colonial struggle. Later, his father became the chief of the Ahmedzai Wazir tribe. Wazir completed his early education in Wana – the largest town in South Waziristan – and studied law at Gomal University, where, influenced by the International Marxist Tendency group he became an activist." http://m.himalmag.com/pasteen-tahafuz-protection-movement-rally-manzoor-pashteen-pakistan-rights/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Umar shahid (talkcontribs) 09:26, 25 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Prejudice Personified[edit]

Saqib, I have been following you edits for a while. I am afraid to say that your editing disgusts me. You seem to be out on a mission to malign BLPs. It seems like you get some weird satisfaction out of it. Wikipedia is not a medium to enable a nobody like you to enact revenge out on public figures. It is a shame that people like you exist. Wikipedia should immediately block your account because you are adding a lot of negativity and conflict. MrPaki (talk) 11:43, 31 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Be Careful[edit]

Hello ! I don't know what's your problem with Pakistani Television and its articles but you should know these shows are admired internationally. My article Peek-A-Boo Shahwaiz is also adaption of American famous sitcom Good Luck Charlie and its article should be created as it is associated with international television series. Since show is new launch so I'm editing it time by time. Now about sock puppet, there are bots on wikipedia who block sock puppet accounts by process. If I'm sock puppet of User:RidaJunejo than my IP address would be same as her. It might be a co incidence that we edit by same style. I have editing since long time and have created several artists but no one objected me.Consider my advices and be careful next time. Lillyput4455 (talk) 19:26, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am just like you[edit]

Saqib, In terms of understanding of wikipidea policies i am just like you. I have learned many wikipidea policies and always trying to do my edits according to that policies. I am also fan of Wahaj Ali and i saw his page nominated for deletion but i wont give my vote as keep because i know that person does'nt meet wikipidea guidelines of actor. Actor articles which i created like Minal Khan, Zara Noor Abbas and others all are now have coverage and meets WP:actor thats why i created. I am sorry if i hurted you on Mizna Waqas but being her die hard fan i just cant control my self that time. RidaJunejo (talk) 14:41, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I know you from many years[edit]

You are a shame less person and i know that. Blocking me is not only for you but you tagged that articles for deletion too. I am leaving wikipidea now for forever and will not be backed, you think you are the official broker of Pakistani articles and its your choice what you should do with them. You are creating huge Pages on Pakistani politicians everyday which is right in your views but creation of Pakistani actor pages is not something you bear because you are jealous of them. Thank God you are not the admin of wikipidea otherwise there will not be the page of any Pakistani actor left except Mahira Khan, anyways i have my personal life too and i dont give a damn to your type peoples. I dont know what type of mission is yours because who care about politicians now a days and specially non notable ones. I'll review the ANI discussion, I was not aware of it. However, note that the two of you, and only the two of you, have been fighting a battle on that article for over a month, and it's already been protected because of the two of you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 18:17, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ivanvector: The other party has not made edits outside the topic since joined WP a decade ago and was clearly trying to own the BLP. I was just trying to make sure the article adhere to WP's core policies; WP:NPOV, WP:VER and WP:NOR. --Saqib (talk) 18:28, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's nice. You forgot about discussion, dispute resolution, seeking a 3rd opinion. Perhaps a little less zeal in trying to control the edits of others and a little more in seeking consensus. If there are BLP concerns, you can ring them to the BLP noticeboard. The one thing you must not do is edit war.-- Dlohcierekim (talk) 18:47, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

@Ivanvector: I would like to request that the block be lifted. I admit and regret my blunder, and fully recognize that my edit warring was wrong and not justified. If the block is lifted, I commit that I would avoid engaging in back-and-forth reverting. I appreciate your considering my request. Saqib (talk) 13:39, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

I think this is a reasonable request. Please remember that you must never edit war. Like Dlohcierekim advised: dispute resolution, third opinions, the BLP noticeboard, are all available to you to resolve conflicts, but getting involved in an edit war will just get you blocked. Best wishes. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 00:40, 16 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Are you now into creating utter trivia-spam like Pets of Imran Khan?! I mean, who the fuck cares that a typical day in Khan's routine begins with breakfast, "walking the dogs and gathering his thoughts", followed by morning exercise. All that you and Mar4D seemed to have done is to run a search on {Imran Khan + dog} and insert every G-hit in every conceivable manner into the article.

As someone, whom I knew with abilites to distinguish between trivial gossip fodder, significance of coverage-levels et al, have you created this article entirely out of your own will?WBGconverse 05:58, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Reinstating sock edits[edit]

Hi Saqib. You seem to be reinstating some of SoK's contributions and/or removing deletion tags from them, such as here. Contrary to what you may have heard in the arguments that have followed, that is not prohibited, and if a sock made an edit that clearly improved an article, it may be worth keeping. However, you need to be clear that by reinstating such an edit, you are taking responsibility for it. So, for instance, if you reinstate an edit that added a BLP violation, you are then responsible for that BLP violation; so you need to be very careful. Just food for thought. Mar4d: you may wish to see this, too. Vanamonde (talk) 15:03, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Vanamonde93: I take complete responsibility of my edits, including reverts and reinstations. Feel free to review my edits and let me know if you see any problem. --Saqib (talk) 15:11, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest, I don't have the time do so. I left this message after seeing the rather acrimonious discussions at User Talk:Mar4d. Response to COI on Noni White and Bob Tzudiker[edit]

Hi, User:Saqib (talk), This is my second message regarding your COI tag on these entries. As you know, this was already reviewed by another wikipedian, and the tag was removed by them after discussion. Can you please remove the tag, or advise as to what additional information you need on this subject. User:Norramic (talk) 12:33, 17 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Declined speedy: File:Huak.jpg[edit]

I noticed that you tagged the page File:Huak.jpg for speedy deletion with the reason "photo of a living person". However, "photo of a living person" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can take the page to WP:FFD for discussion on the merits if you still seek deletion. Thanks! IffyChat -- 09:31, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

😀, so you are okay if others create BLPs on candidates who are expected to win and not have won yet without sources? If that was the standard then I would have created both those articles two hours before you did that but I was waiting for the win to be called. Nadra Panjwani[edit]

Based on your comment on AfD, if there is no source that says she got these awards, why is that information even there on the article, clearly violating BLP --DBigXray 22:59, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@DBigXray: Actually there's a citation but the source is not independent of the subject. --Saqib (talk) 05:29, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
True, it is her own website. I am unable to find any other website that mentions this great achievement. [10] looks like large number of people get these awards every year. List of members of the 15th National Assembly of Pakistan FLC[edit]

Hi, Saqib. Your list had been at FLC since September 7 and nobody had offered support for the article. While you did respond to the reviewers, we can't promote lists that do not receive a consensus for promotion from the community. Without any supporters, there can't be the necessary consensus for promotion, and we can't leave lists at FLC indefinitely, so it had to be archived. I encourage you to keep working on the list, as the topic is interesting and one we don't see that much of at FLC. My suggestion, if you are still interested in pushing the list to FL standard, is to contact The Rambling Man (the last reviewer) and ask him if he thinks your comments have been resolved to his satisfaction. Being able to say you fixed all the issues that came up in the previous FLC would help you in a second attempt. Giants2008 (Talk) 02:46, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ANI discussion[edit]

Hi Saqib. I've decided to close the ANI discussion and simply remind you to keep a careful watch on your edits and reverts, and to refrain from edit warring. As you undoubtedly know and understand, building a block history and with multiple violations of the same policy will lead to your "run-ins" from being seen by the community as a "first-time mistake that is understandable" to "a history of having re-occurring problems with this policy" pretty fast. Please keep this in mind; I just don't want to see you get yourself into that deep of a hole where it starts affecting you in the long-term. If you have questions, need advice, input, or mentoring, my talk page is always open to you and you're welcome to message me there any time you need or want to. Hi Saqib first you nominated the page for deletion then you nominated it for speedy deletion. The subject is a notable person in Pakistan. He is well known in media too. Your revert at Arif Alvi[edit]

Hi Saqib, you reverted my previous edit where I restored the previous state of Arif Alvi after a failed attempt by another user to use a freshly uploaded copyright violation. Did this happen by accident? Currently, in Arif Alvi the image parameter of the infobox refers to File:Dr. Arif Alvi.jpg – the deleted photo which was uploaded to Commons without regard to copyright and which has already been deleted. Please fix your edit. Thanks and kind regards, AFBorchert (talk) 14:40, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Saqib - any reason why you undid all my edits? - I was helping improve the early education with factually referenced updates Dr. Awab Alvi (talk) 09:58, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Drawab: Because you added WP:OR and cited some unreliable sources. --Saqib (talk) 10:01, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Saqib: For one aspect I could agree, the first quoted source the publican trust source may not be the perfect reliable source - but my debate is you don't garnish an article talking about someones early education by stating he was "expelled", this is a story referenced to by a interviewer as a fun matter-of-fact story - my reason of correcting was that, Arif Alvi's entire early education, that is 10 years from grade 1-10, was from Cantt Public School and the best reference I could locate which could show he was there in 1965 (when internet did not exist) was his alumni website - but Wikipedia is quoting the school he was attending for a "brief 5 days" and yes his father forced his son to quit the school, is not the same as being expelled by the school. So either not mention the entire expulsion issue and ignore his early education issue or accpet that he did 10 year of primary education from what he claims to be an alumni off. Secondly, the second referenced story that you undid, I'm worried that you take "http://president.gov.pk/The_President.html" as an "unreliable source" ? it is indeed a govt website, and I believe this cant be declared as an unreliable source? Please, I'm not here to battle for every inch, but I would appreciate some flexibility, you have now known me as clearing up facts and NOT resorting to falsified information, for example like our prolonged debate on the wrong Date of Birth issue we had last time (which I thought was quite unnecessary) but I went to the extent to email you his passport copy to prove it, yet we then again argued to exclude or not to exclude the wrongful references from the published "reliable sources" - but im glad that case is closed --- please do note that even the recent portrait that was in contention even with @AFBorchert: I have recently made the extra effort to have it cleared by the presidency with a proper Creative commons CC0 license and hence we're ok in using this as the official picture - I really look forward to your help and cooperation - I do not mind being called out for placing falsified information - but sometimes people genuinely want to help and Wikipedia is indeed a great place to ensure the correct information is placed away from the fluff of fake news and unreliable information - God bless and regards Dr. Awab Alvi (talk) 10:35, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please discuss on the talk page[edit]

Please discuss the sourcing issue of Waqar Zaka on the talk page of that article. My view is that we should only have information from reliable sources and to that end, I have added two additional sources. However, it seems best that we get to the bottom of the sourcing issue in the best classic Wikipedia way: discussion in good faith on the talk page.--Jimbo Wales (talk) 21:52, 19 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Jimbo Wales: Exactly you're right but it seems like Mr. Sacammer :::@Saqib: has some personal issues with Waqar Zaka and this is the reason he no correcting the page and as well as he not letting anyone to correct that page with true and authentic information. Your draft article, Draft:Jehan Ara[edit]

Hello, Saqib. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Jehan Ara".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! CASSIOPEIA(talk) 04:50, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Event coordinator granted[edit]

After reviewing your request for the "eventcoordinator" permission, I have enabled the flag on your account until October 18. Keep in mind these things:

  • The event coordinator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
  • The event coordinator right allows you to temporarily add the "confirmed" permission to newly created accounts. You should not grant this for more than 10 days.
  • The event coordinator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the event coordinator right will result in its removal by an administrator.
  • Please note, if you were previously a member of the "account creator" group, your flag may have been converted to this new group.

If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the event coordinator right. Happy editing! Chetsford (talk) 06:18, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I thought that since you created this article, you might be able to answer a few questions regarding its content. According to her article, she was elected in 2013 and re-elected in 2018. That means she was still a politician at the time of her death, which is confirmed by the news report of her death. However, the infobox only shows her serving from 2013 - 2018. In addition, what is the correct spelling of her first name, Shahnaz or Shehnaz? Finally, was Begum her maiden name or something else? Editrite! (talk) 10:42, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Editrite: OK I missed to updated the infobox. To see the correct spelling, you will have to do WP:GTEST. regards. --Saqib (talk) 07:22, 18 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

2020 Tablighi Jamaat coronavirus hotspot in Pakistan[edit]

Hello, I noticed you created a separate article for the Tablighi Jamaat hotspot. This wasn't necessary as the article would possibly be too short and is also better suited in the main article of Pakistan. I have hence started a discussion to merge it as section, such as Raiwind Hotspot in the main article. Please discuss the matter and provide your opinion as you see fit. Thanks. --Shawnqual (talk) 00:39, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bad faith in AfD discussions[edit]

Saqib, I have closed the three retaliatory nominations you opened for Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nick Wrenn, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bin Swelah, and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Maya Alhawary. These are clear attempts to disrupt the project after Memon KutianaWala Nominated Wahdat for deletion and have attracted no !votes. They are therefore eligible for WP:NACD under the WP:SKCRIT as explained in the closing note I left on each one. Please in the future refrain from WP:POINTy edits and the personal attacks you have demonstrated in the Wahdat AfD. Considering that the person you accused of a "spree" nominated fifteen AfD's in the same time period you nominated over sixty, there is no way to WP:AGF on your actions here. I am not an admin and I can't issue formal warnings but I will report such actions in the future. I wish you safety and health. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 19:47, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Eggishorn: So nice of you for rescuing pages which I believe was a paid job. --Saqib (talk) 13:36, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Saqib, if you have evidence to support your belief of undisclosed paid editing, you know where to forward it (WP:COIN and/or ArbCom). There is no better time than now while the conflict between you two has everyone's attention. If you don't actually have evidence of undisclosed paid editing, then you shouldn't be making accusations. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 17:48, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I'm trying to get evidence which can demonstrate that those were paid jobs. --Saqib (talk) 17:55, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you do, then please make sure that you are aware of how the UPE and privacy policies interact. In particular, ArbCom and the WMF have made it clear in the past that UPE does not supercede privacy and any information you find on UPE that might dox an editor should be sent to ArbCom directly. I hope that helps avoid unintended consequences. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 18:11, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This is not going to be first time for me exposing a paid editor so I know the SOP . --Saqib (talk) 18:17, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Sorry for presuming, then. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 18:22, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Eggishorn: While I'm unable to get any evidence which proves those 03 articles were paid job, however I found ample material which can demonstrate that Memon was indeed doing some COI editing. Please find below. Regards, --Saqib (talk) 17:35, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Extended content
*In April 2019, an admin User:Justlettersandnumbers asked Memon to put paid-editor disclosure on his userpage (User_talk:Justlettersandnumbers/old5#Time_to_Debate) Many pages created by Memon were deleted on the grounds of being promotional such as Ref Wayne, Karachi Folks High SchoolThe City Grammar SchoolFatima SohailFahad Abdullah AlasausOperation Swift Retort (film) Shahid Shabaz (Musician), Operation 786 and particularly these two paid; Kamal Mustafa (filmmaker) and Turki AlMohsen

Saqib, At this point, I think everyone involved agrees that MKW has demonstrated bad faith in their editing here and should remain blocked indefinitely for both those issues and due to a simple demonstrated lack of competence. I will be very surprised if he is unblocked any time soon. I think your characterization of evidence you found is accurate; at most, we can definitely say he occasionally edits in with undisclosed COI. We can also say that these articles are mostly Pakistani subjects. The three articles you nominated were of an American and two Emirati persons, so the connection to their usual COI subjects is weak. I don't think it's appropriate for either you or I to renominate them at this point given that the evidence these were part of a COI/UPE pattern wouldn't withstand close scrutiny. They have been mentioned prominently and are receiving attention from others so it is likely that they will address notability issues independently. I hope that helps. • In response to comments posted at the ANI discussion, would you consider a voluntary disengagement from anything related to User:Memon KutianaWala until such time as investigations into their allegations of serious off-wiki harassment has been completed? If you agree to that, I will withdraw my interaction ban proposal. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 15:53, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Also you've to share with me the evidence of "disturbing off-wiki material " which you believe was sent by me to Memon. I'm waiting to see the evidence for which you're temped to block me. --Saqib (talk) 17:11, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for agreeing to keep away from Memon KutianaWala until ArbCom can investigate the claims. I apologise for the blocking threat, which was an overreaction to your accusations of paid editing which looked like an escalation of your disputes - you can see I already struck it a little earlier. As I said elsewhere, I can not forward information received in confidence without the sender's permission - and I did not mean to suggest that I *believe* you actually sent anything. In fact, I should not have mentioned the allegation that you had sent anything. I was merely trying to de-escalate what I saw as an escalating dispute, and it appears I have achieved exactly the opposite. You have my apologies for my clumsiness. Deleting Half A Wikipedia Out Of Pure Assumption[edit]

Saqib You Removed Everything From The Malik Shakeel Awan Page Though Everything Written On It Were Basic Knowledge And Important Details

I Don't See Why You Would Remove Important Details Such As His 2002 Political Participation In PP-12 Though There Are Several Articles About The PP-12 Elections And His Participation .

With That There Are Also Many Details On His Former Facebook Account Such As Early Life , Birthday , Student Leadership In Gordon College And His Personal Facebook Account Link

Though These Things Have Nothing To Do With Relationship To Him But These Are Some Basic Things A Person Knows Through Re-searching On Google And Not By Any Relationships

There Is A Website Stating He Has 4 Children And His Interview On Aik Din Malik Shakeel Awan Kai Saath Had His Wife And Kids Included . Indicating He Is A Married Man

And I Don't See Why You'd Remove His Photo Though It Has Nothing To Do With Editing The Article

Kindly Acknowledge That All Things Written By Me On The Malik Shakeel Awan Wikipedia Page Are Stated Facts And Can Proven On Further Re-searching And Not By Just Saying You Have A Relationship With Someone

As For The Facebook Page Link Problem

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed Has His Twitter Linked On His Wiki Stating That Other External Accounts Are Also Allowed .

I Recommen Re-searching People Before Deleting Half Their Wiki Because You Assume They Are Fake Details

I Have Restored The Malik Shakeel Awan Back Now Because You Had Very Little Reason To Delete His Political Career Information , His Personal Life Information , His External Links To Other Accounts He Owns And His Image .

Dear Mr. Saqib. Reference to your comment, i am NOT a paid Wikipedia editor. I have no connections whatsoever with any person of subject. I am a PhD in Mass Communications. I have begun to write articles about my country's people. All the research i have done is from internet sources which are publicly available and are referenced.

Because i am a PhD scholar who creates Wiki Articles after doing thorough research and whenever i get time. I am not in the race to gain points on articles. My next article will be published on a Pakistani Poet from 1940's within the next month. 7 months of research has gone into this article as you being a Pakistani knows that historical figures in Pakistan do not have easily available references for Wiki. I hope this satisfies your query. ECRaya (talk) 08:38, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Mir Mohammad Ali Khan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article seems like an autobiography rather than an encyclopedia article, also many of the speechs, awards have been sourced to website indexes which do no mention the subject. Many of the references added would not qualify as worthy sources but rather praising or propaganda blog. If not deleted, a cleanup of the article would render this article lose most of the content with the current sources quoted.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jibran1998 (talk) 22:58, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You have been politically victimizing Mir Mohammad Alikhan from day one. He is a known public figure in Pakistan and you being a Pakistani have repeatedly tried to malign him. First you created a malicious article against him and when the entire new article with 62 references and hundreds of editors participating, you last night deleted the entire article and again uploaded only the negative content. Article about MirMak was created painstakingly and with proofs and references from around the globe which you deleted earning yourself thousands of negative points only in spite of MirMak. An article created over months of hardwork and evidence based facts which you deleted with a strike of a key.

Wiki articles are not for political victimization. They are not to target and malign a public figure. Your repeated attempts have brought me to publicly reveal your malicious campaign. This is neither ethical nor based on Wikipedia rules and ethics.

And for your reference i am attaching the pictures of award ceremonies where MirMak received awards from The President of Pakistan, 2 Governors, Chairman of the most esteemed accountability institution The National Accountability Bureau for training their prosecutors for investigative techniques to identify financial crimes plus other pictures. These are facts with picture references now. Please refrain from a malicious campaign of a notable person. Thanks.

NPP Award for 2018[edit]

The New Page Patroller's Barnstar

For over 100 article reviews during 2018. Thank you for patrolling new pages and helping us out with the backlog! -MPGuy2824 (talk) 03:35, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a barnstar to show appreciation for the NPP reviews you did back in 2018. We realize this is late, but NPP fell behind in some coordination activities. We have just caught up with giving out deserved barnstars. Also, we notice you haven't been very active here recently, and hope you will consider increasing your participation. The backlog is relatively high and we could really use your help. Regardless, thanks again for your past effort. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 03:35, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Digitized Archives of Pakistani Newspapers[edit]

Do they exist? Created a few articles: Nawab Mohammad Khan Jogezai, Karamat Ali, Asad Ullah Jan Khan, Abdus Sattar Abdur Rahman, Ganga Saran, Seth Sukhdev, and Mumtaz Hasan Kizilbash. Improvements are welcome! TrangaBellam (talk) 19:49, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Great work, @TrangaBellam:
There is the Civil and Military Gazette of Lahore in which Kipling, barely past his teens, wrote the stories in which his genius first flowered. It is in the British Library newspaper archives I don't know any other pre-1947 newspapers in the cities that are now in Pakistan. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 23:20, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Zafar Rasheed Bhatti has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-Notable journalist fails to meet WP:JOURNALIST and WP:BIO . Nothing notability in his work and the sources are primary.

Irfan Qadir Inappropriate tagging and deletion nomination[edit]

@Saqib, So you added the Advert and COI tags, can you please show me some evidence for it? and the nomination of Nadir Ali is taking you in wrong direction. M.Ashraf333 (talk) 09:51, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

BLP contains OR therefore it seems like the major contributor has conflict of interests. And what do you mean by AfD of Nadir Ali is taking me in the wrong direction? Care to elaborate? --Saqib (talk) 11:18, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Net worth of Shahzada Dawood[edit]

@Saqib You added information of Shahzada Dawood's net worth provided by an article from an Indian paper. There are plenty of - mainly Indian - papers which published all different numbers without naming any source or reference. It is worth to protect this encyclopaedia from information of yellow pages. --Crosji (talk) 17:57, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Crosji: The net worth information I included was based on an article from a credible and reputable Indian publication which adheres to the principles of verifiability and neutrality that are fundamental to Wikipedia's content. You need to consider WP:NOTTRUTH. --Saqib (talk) 07:46, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Comments request[edit]

Hi Saqib - thank you for your work on topics related to Pakistani politics. Could you please comment on a few WP:NPOV problems on politics-related articles? Bushra_Bibi#Alleged_extramarital_affair is a clear violation of WP:BLP guideline and none of the secondary sources describe it as "alleged extramarital affair" so it is WP:SYNTH as well. Also, share your independent opinion on Talk:2024_Pakistani_general_election#Should_PTI_be_included_in_the_Infobox and Talk:PTI_intra-party_elections_case#Introducing_the_word_"controversial"_in_the_lead when you have time. PTI intra-party elections case is obviously controversial. Thank you. HistoriesUnveiler (talk) 18:22, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message. I made my remarks on whether PTI should be included in the infobox. Will definitely check other issues later if time permits. --Saqib (talk) 18:28, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nice, many thanks. HistoriesUnveiler (talk) 18:31, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Using videos as a source[edit]

Videos from reputable sources such as Geo News are considered reliable, YouTube is just a hosting medium, we have to see who is the actual publisher or broadcaster. Offcourse, a vlog from a rando would not be reliable but a video from reputable source would be reliable regardless of it being on YouTube. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 19:46, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The content on your user page overlaps with the hyperlinks when viewed on mobile in desktop mode. I had intended to email you to check on you when you were away for six months, but I couldn't click the link. You may want to adjust the formatting to ensure that the text doesn't cover the hyperlinks. Just thought, should let you know now. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 21:09, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Abdul Qadir Patel Article - VANDALISM[edit]

Dear Saqib,

I really appreciate you efforts for contributions in Abdul Qadir Patel article. As per [WP:POLICY]] its considered as act of vandalism to public office holder article without sold proof or adding citation needed while citations are already there and assuming WP:COI without having sold proves.

I have been editing Wikipedia for many years almost a decade so I am very much aware of all WP:POLICIES & GUIDELINES and certainly I always comply with policies and guidelines, as far as the mentioned article is concern I created this article and I always keep my articles up to date and with full citations and validations thus there is no WP:COI.

I keep my each article with very much keen consideration and keep my edits very clean instead of quantity I focus on quality of each article and make it better, readable, every single article I created is very important for us so there is no WP:COI every article is equal for me. All citations are accurate you may add citation need [ [citation needed] ] in front of the sentence where we can improve citations and we can improve together.

Lets join hands to improve WP:Pakistan and I have seen your efforts which are very impressive. Lets keep it up and work like a team. Thanks Faizan Munawar Varya chat contributions 09:10, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WP:PAKISTAN Project Improvement and Team Building[edit]

I also review your Wikipedia contributions which are very impressive but most of the articles you created without much information.

In Wikipedia we also focus on quality writings not quantity, each Wikipedian are responsible for the articles they have created and here we treat each Wikipedian on equal respect and your tone sounded very aggressive and also authoritative. Please I urge you to please assure the respect and honor of each Wikipedia as everyone is contributing their time towards betterment of Wikipedia as community.

As an active member of WP:Pakistan I truly appreciate your efforts, lets work together to make a Wikipedia a better place, lets work as a team and make WP:Pakistan #1 in chart we have a lot of work to do, due to personal commitments I was not contributing much now I am back, so lets join hand and work together to promote the encyclopedia of our WP:Pakistan better.

Lets work together as team and lets improve each others articles and create new articles to WP:PAKISTAN. Faizan Munawar Varya chat contributions 09:15, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
