If this is your own work, then you have a conflict of interest

Greetings! I see that you uploaded File:Film Director S. A. Zaidi (right) and Film Producer Ghanem Ghubash (left) together known as Fat Brothers.jpg, claiming it as your own work. Since that image is credited (where it's published on the web) to the company owned by Zaidi and Ghubash, then it suggests you have a conflict of interest.

Hello C.Fred,

I have no Conflict of interest as I have no relation to these filmmakers, I do not work for Fat Brothers Films. I am an avid sci-fi fan in the United Arab Emirates, I have been part of many conventions like MEFCC (Middle East Film and comic con), and IGN Middle East numerous times, this is the materials that come out of our country. I am keen to publish articles on other filmmakers in this region. I have not added these photos on my own, they are in the newspapers and comic-con, you can view them with the links provided. I have taken them from newspapers and I have not found any photos outside the media of those films. Please do have a look at the news article sources I have mentioned. Since I have taken these pictures from newspaper articles I was unsure of how to upload them to wikimedia and how to source and link them, which is why I stated them as my own. If you could please guide me on how to post photos taken from newspaper articles it would be greatly appreciated.

Im asking you for guidance, because there is something I am not doing right, cause these are not my photos, they are newspaper photos. So tell me how to state that and publish accordingly. You guidance will be highly appreciated

That is from their public Facebook page for the film Aerials. So how would I go about putting these photos taken from the newspaper, twitter or Facebook public pages?

You cannot put then on Commons, because they aren't free. Commons only accepts free images. Since you don't own the images, you can't license them.

The images could only be uploaded to the English Wikipedia if they meet our non-free content criteria. For photos of the filmmakers, that won't be allowed, since it's possible for somebody to take a free image for the same purpose. How can I then provide properly licensed photos for anyone? Do I need to get a picture with them? Can I take the picture from IMDb? And in general if I post a picture that is my own, how do I go about with providing the license for it and prove that it is my own work?

Short answer: yes, you need to get a picture with them. Like, physically meet them at a con, and you take the picture. The general rule is that whoever took the photo has the rights to the photo.

As far as proving it's your own, it will help if you can be specific about the circumstances. (E.g., "This is a picture I took on Thursday at the con while they were signing my poster. I took it with my iPhone.") Bear in mind that we check photos to see if they exist elsewhere on the web. If they don't exist anywhere else, or if they only exist on your Flickr account or the like, then that's presumptive evidence that it's your picture. Providing the license is a matter of, when you upload it, adding the tag for the CC 4.0 license or the like.
