Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
(Redirected from Wikipedia:RMT)
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=reason for move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests[edit]
Uncontroversial technical requests[edit]
- Lay Down (disambiguation) (currently a redirect to Lay Down) → Lay Down (move · discuss) – Malplaced disambiguation page. Natg 19 (talk) 20:37, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- Orange Music Electronic Company → Orange Amps (currently a redirect back to Orange Music Electronic Company) (move · discuss) – Per WP:COMMONNAME. Can't move because of existing redirect. It's nearly impossible to find anything referring to this company as "Orange Music Electronic Company." The official website uses "Orange Amps" - for example, the history section was apparently written by the company founder, who signs off, "Founder, CEO of Orange Amps." I would go with what he says. Mbinebri (talk) 18:15, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- Society of Operating Cameramen → Society of Camera Operators (currently a redirect back to Society of Operating Cameramen) (move · discuss) – WP:COMMONNAME. The organisation is referred to by the second name; the current title is a name not in use anymore. See official website and various articles. Sgubaldo (talk) 20:03, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- From The Start (song) → From the Start (Laufey song) (currently a redirect instead to Bewitched (Laufey album)) (move · discuss) – MOS:AT, disambiguation is needed as well because From the Start (song) leads to a disambiguation page The Sharpest Lives (contribs) 20:25, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- Si nos dejan (TV series) → Si nos dejan (currently a redirect back to Si nos dejan (TV series)) (move · discuss) – I believe the page is the only one titled Si nos dejan so the disambiguation is unnecessary. I am unable to do the move myself. Telenovelafan215 (talk) 20:30, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- She Used to Be Mine (Sara Bareilles song) → She Used to Be Mine (move · discuss) – Per Special:Permalink/1224074611#Requested move 9 May 2024. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 21:26, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- Move the current content of the page * Blow Up (band) → Blow-Up (band) (currently a redirect back to Blow Up (band)) (move · discuss) – Per Special:Permalink/1223076154#Requested move 9 May 2024. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 21:56, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves[edit]
Contested technical requests[edit]
- Friesland (disambiguation) → Friesland (move · discuss) – per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC and WP:NCLANG PK2 (talk) 13:30, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- I don't agree with this, and have reverted the recent move from Friesland to Friesland (province). The province seems the primary topic for this Dutch/German term when rendered in English, given that the region is usually called Frisia. — Amakuru (talk) 13:45, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- @PK2: This technical request has been contested. As such, it would require a requested-move discussion, which you can begin by clicking "discuss" on your request. You can remove this request after opening a discussion (or if you do not want to continue). I have also adjusted the discuss link to include requesting the now-reverted move Friesland → Friesland (province). SilverLocust 💬 21:59, 15 May 2024 (UTC)

- DYD (disambiguation) → DYD (currently a redirect instead to Djugun dialect) (move · discuss) – No primary topic, like any other DAB page from Ykhwong. 2600:1006:B05C:30F3:F9D9:60A9:43F3:564A (talk) 14:03, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- Did you open the RM at Talk:DYD (disambiguation) by mistake? Technically we need you to reply there saying you are going to "withdraw" your nomination before we can do anything, otherwise the RM needs to elapse. You can still do that as long as nobody replies with a support !vote. ASUKITE 14:53, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
