On the website, it says: "starting with the 2022-’23 season, the winner of I-League will stand a chance to be promoted to the ISL" and "for the first three years (2019-’20, 2020-’21 and 2021-’22), there will continue to be no promotion and relegation in the ISL". Formatting Arab names

Hi Nehme1499, A question regarding Arab names - when it starts with "Al", should a hyphen or space be after it? As in "Al-Taawoun" or "Al Taawoun"? --SuperJew (talk) 19:43, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

Hey @SuperJew! It really depends. The most important thing is consistency. For example, at 2021 AFC Cup it's always written as "Al-". For Lebanese teams (not in pages such as the AFC Cup), I personally like to just remove the Al because, for example, it doesn't make sense to me to write Al Ahed for Al Ahed FC, but not Al Nejmeh for Nejmeh SC (even though in Arabic the "Al" is present). For consistency I just remove it. For Saudi teams there doesn't seem to be consistency (some use Al, others Al-), so for Taawoun's case I would use what is being used in the article's name. Let me disagree about what you said about IFFHS. IFFHS of course is a credible, reliable and valid source. 100%. In fact, for your information, IFFHS stands for : "International Federation of Football History & Statistics". So you do understand that here we are talking about an OFFICIAL FOOTBALL FEDERATION, aren't you ??? It is like FIFA, UEFA etc and it is even more trustworthy, as it gives awards and honours footballers based on statistics. So its awards/honours are arguably objective and impartial. That is why I cannot understand and cannot accept why you (and some other wiki users as well) keep reverting my edit regarding Lionel Messi's latest honour (see the subject above). It is so sad for Wikipedia the truth to be hidden. Wikipedia should have some controllers/advanced users to check out what is true/correct and what is not. In 1999, IFFHS declared former Brazilian footballer-legend, Pele, as the best footballer in the 20th century and this is well written in Pele's Wikipedia page. Actually, Pele's wiki page says exactly : "In 1999, Pelé was voted World Player of the Century by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS)". So you can see on your own that there are double standards here... If we want to have a fair, objective and unbiased Wikipedia, then we should write down the facts as they really are. Otherwise, continuous reverts like yours unfortunately make Wikipedia seem sloppy and biased. I am really sorry.

Sure, you can add it to the body of the article or the honours, but make sure to keep in mind that it doesn't mean that they "declared" him the best, rather he was "considered" the best by IFFHS. In Italia esistono 19 coppe regionali che vengono disputate dalle squadre di Prima Categoria. Ci sono le fonti necessarie per la verificazione ma ha una scarsa notabilità

La Coppa nome della regione è per le squadre di Prima Categoria

@Dr Salvus: Ciao, consiglio personale: penso che la cosa migliore sia fare con molta calma. Io ho cominciato a modificare nel 2018 con una certa regolarita'. La mia prima pagina che ho portato a GA (Lebanon national football team) fu quasi un anno dopo. Il mio primo FA fu appunto la partita del 1940, che fu promossa piu' di 2 anni dopo che cominciai a modificare su Wikipedia.

Non trattare Wikipedia come una sorta di videogioco. Fai con molta calma, modifica quello che vedi che c'e' da modificare, crea pagine tranquillamente. That could be tricky. The FA used to have profiles for all youth internationals which includes caps, goals and the dates of first and last caps, but they did away with those a few years ago. The Rothmans/Sky Sports etc Football Yearbooks usually list line-ups for England youth international matches, I'll check my copies in the next few days. In the meantime, I think it's worth having a discussion, perhaps at WT:FOOTY, as to whether we should include youth level international data in the international statistics tables. They're deemed notable enough to include in infoboxes so it stands to reason that they should be in career stats tables, and it would make life a lot easier when it comes to sourcing them. Hi there, I was wondering if you could help. Some years ago, there was a mass creation of articles on Italian friendly matches, for example Torneo Città di Bologna and Coppa Misura (Cesena). There seem to be a good 20 to 30 articles with similar lack of content and sourcing. Firstly, are they notable? Nothing in the article indicates that these matches are actually notable or significant in any way. Secondly, assuming that they did receive significant coverage, is there a way of accessing Italian newspaper archives to find sources for them? Thanks! @Spiderone: An important thing to keep in mind: not even the Italian Wikipedia has these articles, which confirms that they aren't notable. Also, being one-year tournaments, the summary page isn't really needed. If anything there should be a page for 1990 Torneo Città di Bologna (if indeed it is notable, which I highly doubt). For AFC players, they have all the players' passport/IDs, which means that they have the correct spellings. Try to please follow the model used here (Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players), making sure to also put the correct categories. If you have any other inquiries let me know. I'm not gonna ignore the Soccerway, Global Sports Archive or any other sites like these. But I assume you know that those sites have many misakes about low coverage leagues as you’re working on football related articles. On the other hand, the local but reliable news sites bring the most authentic informations as they publishes most recent updates.

You're a italian citizen. You'll know about italian domestic leagues and footballer better than me. Same way, I know better about Bangladeshi football better than you. Also our country isn’t a huge football country like yours.

Now if you're gonna keep inaccurate informations on wikipedia depending on some sites like Global Sports Archive and ignoring the most recent news reports, it's completely your own wish. But it will be wrong. Hope you will take the right decision.

@Diptadg17: Don't worry, I am very aware of incorrect spellings as I largely deal with Lebanese football (and I 1000% agree with you that Soccerway very often list incorrect spellings). Which is why I had no problem with the original spelling of the Wikipedia page. However, I know for a fact that GSA has access to the AFC database, where passports and IDs of players are stored, which means that, at least for players who have played in any AFC competition (AFC Asian Cup, AFC Champions League, AFC Cup, AFC U19 Championship qualifiers, etc.), they have the correct spellings as reported on the players' passports. Hello friend, I have been researching on Lebanese footballer Mahmoud Kojok just because of his past contract with Indian club Churchill Brothers SC, for including his name in the page List of foreign football players in India again. I know that the transfermarkt source is not widely regarded as suitable for English Wikipedia, that's why I'm showing you some other reliable sources, which mention that he joined the Goa based club from Al Ansar FC in July 2013. Though he has never appeared in any I-League match.

Hi @Billjones94. As per Soccerway, the player has played 20 out of 22 league games in Lebanon in 13/14 for Ansar (between 22 September 2013 and 18 May 2014). Soccerway also never listed in him any 13/14 I-League game for Churchill Brothers, neither on the bench or as a starter. Guici, Leclerc, and Béreau

Hello Nehme1499. For the articles Bernard Béréau, Robin Leclercq, and Daniel Guicci, the issue is that the player's last names are uncertain. It's not that they are called something else, it's just that some sources have one last name (eg: Leclercq) while others have another (eg: Leclerc). The current article titles are the ones I have deemed most likely & most used across Wikipedia. Do not change those. I just need help knowing what the correct procedure is when we don't know the exact last name of a player (misspelling or something). This is the case for other similar situations, such as Juventus F.C. Under-23 players. Well, why do you say it is not possible to "show" two clubs? I just added both teams in that certain field of the infobox and separated them with a slash. @DrunkenGerman: Because the slash is ambiguous. There are numerous clubs with slashes in their names (such as FK Bodø/Glimt). The page at FC Juniors OÖ seems to suggest that since 2018 the club is "an independent club". If so, would Succar have moved on loan to Juniors? Well then we could just use an / or something else when it is about the format. As I understand Junior OÖ is technically an own club but in fact the reserve team of LASK. Also the players aren't loaned from LASK to Junior ÖO, instead they are defined as "cooperation players" who are eligible to play for both teams at the same time. Lugnuts

Our buddy Lugnuts has continued to pump out dozens and dozens of football stubs with the simplest of categories. I simply don't understand what stops him from adding "Association football midfielders" and "Sportspeople from Brazzaville", especially when he adds other categories and they are right on the NFT source HE chose to begin with. It's lazy, it's stubborn, it's a bit weird. Is there nothing we can do or report to for stuff like this? We brought it to his attention a few times and you saw his reaction. @JTtheOG: I agree that his general demeanor is passive-agressive at best, but I'm not sure what can be done. Creating pages with partial categories isn't "disruptive editing" per se (though I would argue that it is, as it wastes a lot of our time), and using a rhetorical and "weird" tone isn't offensive (again, it's very annoying but one couldn't make an WP:ANI out of it, I think). Regarding Nabbout, some editors and I believe that there is no issue in displaying the same club twice, as the player was both a youth and senior player for the club at the same time. @SuperJew: You're being ridiculously optimistic. We barely beat Sri Lanka, lost to Turkmenistan, and had NK not withdrawn, we would have possibly even finished in 4th place in the second round. Our domestic league is in a horrible state, our stadiums are getting worse and worse, our professional players abroad are moving to the Middle East (Qatar, Jordan, some even to Lebanon). If we manage to grab a couple of points off of Syria and Iraq it will be a feat. Regardless, we had a "lucky" draw, as you got KSA and China. It will be an interesting 4-way battle for the top 2. I get it, in the past I always used the main links, but when they are working redirects, why not use them? That is the whole point of redirects. We either use UEFA Euro 2020 et al., if you really want to use the main link, or we use the redirect Euro 2020; there is no point, or use, in using [[UEFA Euro 2020|Euro 2020]]. Regards.
