Metal Gear article[edit]

I dont think I fully understand your reasons for denying the additions I've made to the Metal Gear articles. What sources or evidence would it take to prove the Metal Gear film notable? I've searched and read dozens of Wikipedia guidelines and notability requirements and my links and sources fit all of them. Please direct me to rules that I am breaking, or suggest changes that could be made. Mario1286 (talk) 17:07, 10 May 2009 (UTC)mario1286Mario1286 (talk) 17:07, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Because for one thing, its a clear conflict of interest. You are editing an article to promote an unauthorized fanmade film that Konami (the copyrights holder of Metal Gear) have nothing to do with, which you are hosting on your Youtube channel. Yes, David Hayter left a comment on your Youtube page, but that isn't enough to assert notability (I'm pretty sure he probably left similar comments on other fan-made productions). Other than that, there's not enough sufficient third party sources to assert notability like being mentioned on a notable game news site like 1up.com or Game Informer. There are Wikipedia articles on other fan-projects like Phase II, but they received sufficient coverage on third-party sources to assert notability and as far as I know, none of the articles were created by the producers of the film. RE Archives[edit]

Should I take it the book's information should be regarded with a grain of salt for some of the optional outcomes in the game material? I was planning on cleaning up the RE character lists with citations from it after I finished up Nemesis (Resident Evil) (good lord he and Jill have a lot of reception).--Kung Fu Man (talk) 05:14, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Resident Evil Archives is a good book, but the English version published by BradyGames has a few translation errors in it. I own both, the original Japanese edition and the English, and they make a few mistakes here and there (the easiest one to spot of course, is when they refer to the UBCS as the "Umbrella Resident Evil Countermeasure Service" or listing Rebecca as "dead" and Joseph as "alive" in the RE3 correlation chart when its the other way around). Nicholai's bio in the Japanese edition actually acknowledges Nicholai's other outcome in the game, which for some reason they left out in the English edition. Either way, its best to acknowledge all the possible outcomes a character has in each game, even if sequels determine otherwise. Jonny2x4 (talk) 05:50, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Organization of character list of fighting games[edit]

Hi Jonny2x4. Nice work in the KoF games, the plot sections finally are not so overdetailed. There is something I wanted to ask you? How would you organize the KoF list of characters? With lost of them belonging to Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting I thought it would be good in teams to avoid having so many subsections with redirect to the SNK article. Any idea? Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 00:29, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good idea, considering there are quite a few teams which are constant in the series in addition to the one-off ones like the '96 Boss Team and the '97 New Face Team. The only problem is that some characters tend to change teams between games, especially between Fatal Fury, AOF, and the Women Fighters Teams. Not to mention KOF XII won't have any formal teams like in previous games. The other alternative is to divided the article between original characters and characters imported from other series. Not all the AOF characters are in the AOF Team after all. Jonny2x4 (talk) 02:03, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I tried something like that here, but I think it still needs some changes. Feel free to do anything you want there.Tintor2 (talk) 15:27, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Jonny did you check see this? In the characters Ash, Kyo and Terry there is some type of synopsis. Do you understand anything? By the way it seems the files also have ages of the characters. How can Athena be 18 years old if in KoF 94 she was a teenager? By the way, do you of some reception info that could be added to the KoF characters like Kyo, Iori and K since they have an article? I added some to Kyo about a poll that you added to KoF 94. Nice work.Tintor2 (talk) 01:32, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Teenager = Anyone between ages Thirteen to Nineteen.
Athena was 17 in KOF'94 and 18 from '95 and onward. None of the KOF characters have aged since '95.
The characters profiles in the KOF XII site are mainly just side-stories, just like the ones in the main KOF series site. There's one for Benimaru as well. They don't seem to continue the storyline from KOF XI in anyway though.
I know for sure that Iori ranked No. 2 in the Best Characters of 1996 in the Gamest's poll (sandwiched between Dan and Sakura as a matter of fact). Not sure is there anything on K′. The Gamest awards were discontinued in 1998. Jonny2x4 (talk) 03:58, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Terry Bogard[edit]

Do you know of any conception info from Terry Bogard? I think another poll could help in reception, do you know any?Tintor2 (talk) 13:30, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't know. I know there are a couple of books which deals specifically with the plot development of the Fatal Fury series, but I personally don't own them. This page lists Garou Densetsu no Nazo and Garou Densetsu 3 no Nazo. You could also try searching All About SNK Head-to-Head Fighting Game as well.Jonny2x4 (talk) 14:52, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is K Dash written as K′or K'? Shouldnt also NESTS be changed to Nests?Tintor2 (talk) 18:24, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The mark next to his letter is supposed to be a prime mark (′) and not an apostrophe ('), hence his name "K Dash" (or "K Prime"). I've seen spelled both ways officially though. Jonny2x4 (talk) 19:11, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And about Nests?Tintor2 (talk) 19:22, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've seen it used both way, but NESTS seems to be more common. Jonny2x4 (talk) 20:47, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
But doesnt say the MOS that words written all in capitals should be changed?Tintor2 (talk) 22:36, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
We use whatever the official spelling is, which seems to be NESTS according the official site. Jonny2x4 (talk) 02:17, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Resident Evil 5[edit]

Sorry about coming off as "snobby". I just didn't feel like cleaning up after you. For what it's worth, I agreed with the change on principle, just not with the way it was executed. It's much better now though. Perhaps you can have a say in the discussion on the talk page about the new racism section as well? I'd like some more input on that from experienced editors. Cheers, --Atlan (talk) 21:50, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AAC and voice actors[edit]

Odd question for you, but did it happen to list who voiced each character by any chance? Trying to phase out the TV.com reference for Poison's article, but not finding the best of sources for such.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 17:15, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

All About Capcom doesn't list voice acting credits for any of the games or characters it covers. Your best reference would be to check the actual credits for the game itself.Jonny2x4 (talk) 17:23, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Development from the game, anything that shows how they created the game (characters, music, stages, difficulties in some parts, etc)Tintor2 (talk) 18:25, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

About The King of Fighters covers, should we use the earliest ports after the arcade for the cover? If thats so some Neo Geo CD covers should be changed to the Neo Geo cover. I will do it, but first I need to know if thats ok.Tintor2 (talk) 13:25, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey?Tintor2 (talk) 19:53, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think the covers of the Neo-Geo AES versions of the games for the infobox are the most suitable, since those are practically the arcade versions on a home console. When one is not available, I use an NGCD cover instead. Jonny2x4 (talk) 15:47, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
.What do you mean by AES? The Neo Geo covers from the game can be get in GameSpot.Tintor2 (talk) 21:57, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rufus[edit]

He has enough of a reception section that he could get his own article as I expect more will come up. The thing that bugs me though is that there really is very little creation information to work with in his regard. I've heard mention of a "Making of" CD for the game being available in Japan but never seen it...have you run across anything on your end that could flesh out a development section?--Kung Fu Man (talk) 11:35, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not redirect Wikipedia articles for no reason, as you did to Devil Man. Citing WP:BRD, it would be wise if you discussed this with WP:CVG before doing something like that again. Please reply on your talk page, Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 02:50, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For starters, I was merely planning to use Devil Man as a redirect to Devilman and move the content to a new article, but I just remembered that you could easily move the article and change the former name as redirect to the other article. Thanks for the automated warning anyway. Jonny2x4 (talk) 03:15, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Concerning you[edit]

I will do my best to make my arguments against Johnny2x4 clear and articulate. I plan to utilize numerous examples and maybe even some occasional humor so as not to strain your patience as I delve into immense detail about how Johnny2x4's ethics are nothing short of saturnine. Unless you share my view that Johnny2x4 preaches tolerance yet actively refuses to tolerate views that differ from his own, there's no need for you to hear me further. From what I understand, his cat's-paws all look like him, think like him, act like him, and impinge upon our daily lives, just like Johnny2x4 does. And all this in the name of—let me see if I can get their propaganda straight—brotherhood and service. Ha! The only way out of Johnny2x4's rat maze is to say "no" to his subversive rantings. It's that simple. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire - past ops) 03:50, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

LOL. That actually makes slightly more sense than Sesshomaru's complaints about my edits. Jonny2x4 (talk) 03:58, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Question regarding Charlie[edit]

Should we merge this article by now? There's squat for reception, and I can't dig up anything for it. In fact the only thing Charlie really even has going for him is he appeared in a lot it seems.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 19:01, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you think so, do it. Although I think its getting a bit too new school centered, considering only the characters who are in Street Fighter IV are keeping their individual articles. Jonny2x4 (talk) 19:54, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I can be a bit of jerk sometimes to be honest. :p
But, yeah, I've been editing (as well as creating) some of the MGS-related articles for quite a while, although I don't maintain them as much as I used to.
Anyway, I think a category for "video game sequels developed by second parties" is a bit too vague anyway. Especially considering most video games companies are hiring external developers nowadays more than ever to do projects (Street Fighter IV was co-developed by Dimps and the last few Silent Hill sequels were done by an American team). In the past, game companies tended to have external developers like TOSE "ghostwrite" their games while taking credit for their work.
Would you count a game like say, Donkey Kong Country, as a candidate for that category? Its technically not a sequel, but it is a spinoff game of a popular Nintendo character made by an external developer. Jonny2x4 (talk) 06:15, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

SNES 2 / Super Nintendo Entertainment System (redesigned model)[edit]

Hi, I see you made alot of changes to the SNES 2 / Super Nintendo Entertainment System (redesigned model) article (and the NES 2 page aswell)

I do understand what you were trying to do in renaming the article and changing the systems name to 'SNS-101' throughout (instead of 'SNES 2') - in many way I thought about doing this very thing when I first created the article. However, I think calling it the 'SNS-101' may be too confusing for most people - many do not even know where the model number is, or what it stands for. It would be kind of like me calling the N64 the 'NUS-001' or saying that the Nintendo 64 should never be called the 'N64' in a Wikipedia article as it is not the systems full correct name.

A quick google shows that almost everyone called the SNS-101 the 'SNES 2' or similar, despite the system never officially being called that. The same applies to the NES 2, which has previously been renamed everything from "NES Toploader" to "NES-101" and has always ended up being put back to NES 2 (See discussion area of NES 2 article)

The other problem with calling it the "Super Nintendo Entertainment System (redesigned model)" is that it invites the possibity for the article be merged with the original Super Nintendo Entertainment System article, which is already very long as it is, and would likely result in much of the information being lost/removed.

The last problem is that the article now no longer appears in Google searches for the SNES 2, making it less relevant for its intended purpose - as an informative article for people looking to find out more about this system. Nobody is likely to search for "Super Nintendo Entertainment System (redesigned model)" despite its accuracy. I also did state in the very first paragraph that it was never officialy called the SNES 2 by Nintendo.

If you still feel the article should not be called SNES 2, perhaps a more suitable name would be "Super Nintendo Entertainment System (Model: SNS-101)" or similar, as in my opinion 'redesigned model' just doesnt seem quite right (no offense intended)

Please dont think im trying to cause an arguement or anything, I just think its worth thinking about these points.

Regards Link83 (talk) 14:36, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Articles should have the same name that the subject officially used (with a proper disambiguation on the title if necessary) and not some informal name made-up by the internet, no matter how popular or commonly used it may be. The article on the 90's Saturday Morning Sonic cartoon isn't called "Sonic SatAM", its Sonic the Hedgehog (TV series) like it appeared on the title card. Likewise for any other popular multimedia franchise or models of the same vehicle. I don't see any reason why it should be any different from video game consoles and hardware.
Nintendo never officially used the terms "NES2" and "SNES2" to my knowledge, not even as acronyms (unlike N64 which is an official acronym they used), so I see not reason to use those as the respective articles' titles other than as redirects. I see no reason why you have an issue with this, since typing "NES 2" on the search query will simply redirect to Nintendo Entertainment System (redesigned model)
I used "redesigned model" as a disambiguation since its much easier to identify the subjects than "model NES-101" or "model SNS-101", especially since the NES and SNES both only had one first-party redesign. Of course, that could always be simplified to just "redesign" or "new design".
As for the articles of the redesigns being merged with the ones for the original models, to be honest, that wouldn't be a bad idea, since they're the same consoles anyway, just different exterior designs. The articles on the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 covers the original models, as well as their redesigns, so I don't see why it should be any different for the NES and SNES. Why did you remove Johnny Cage's filmography?[edit]

I'm not sure if you read the discussions for the Wiki articles, but before I'd added the filmography back into Cage's Wiki entry, I'd asked on the discussion page why it had been removed. I'd stated I wanted to add it back in, and I wanted to know if there was any reason why it shouldn't be. I never got an answer. That's why I felt it was okay to put it back in.

(And in all honesty, I don't really appreciate you labeling it "cruft." If you thought it was an unnecessary amount of detail, fine. If you wanted me to source them better, fair enough. But calling it "cruft" came off as being rude).(216.15.62.119 (talk) 14:54, 30 July 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I removed the Johnny Cage's "filmography", for the same reason why we don't have filmographies for other characters like Troy McClure and Rainier Wolfcastle: they're fictional characters in fictional works and listing every fictional film they ever "starred in" will just be a list of one-off jokes that serves no actual relevance to the character itself in the context of the work itself. That's why its considered "cruft". Not to mention it violates WP:WAF guidelines by writing a fictional character coverage better reserve for real people. If you really want to add it somewhere, just add to Johnny Cage's article at the Mortal Kombat wikia. Jonny2x4 (talk) 18:47, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

God Save the Quean[edit]

My definition of vandalism is different from wikipedia's definition, or your definition. If you take someone's hard work and delete it that's my definition of vandalism. You don't have the right to erase someone's contribution because you started the page, or because your account is older than my present one. That doesn't make sense does it. I don't have the right to erase other people's contributions to my articles just because I started them, unless the information was wrong.

You said something if I remember correctly about the facts in my synopses being just that, but the descriptions were perfectly good. You had many spelling mistakes in yours ("submit" for "summit" was one I remember, but there were so many). There was no reason to delete hard work and make it look like vanity for the sakes of lesser quality descriptions, no matter the size. And its funny how your later descriptions suddenly went small even though mine were about the same size as the original passages. It just looks like you were having a moment of arrogance.

P.S. It wasn't a "stupid mistake", it was quite well to do.

Reply[edit]

First of all, why did you take six months to reply to a message I left on your user page months ago? Wouldn't it make more sense to reply this at least a day or two after receiving the notification?
Either way, how you personally definite what vandalism is. If another person edit an article with the intent of improving it, even if its misguided, its not vandalism, period. Yes, I do tend to make grammatical and spelling mistakes in my edits, but its nothing that can't be fixed by myself or another user. Don't accuse someone of having a "moment of arrogance" when you're basically doing the same thing by stating that Wikipedia's definition of one concept is different from yours.
I wasn't removing anything from the article, but was simply trying compress the summaries as much as possible. For starters, Wikipedia discourages articles with too much plot summary. Not every piece of information and trivia is suitable for Wikipedia, even if the information is technically correct (see WP:NOT). In other words, deleting information is not vandalism if the information is considered superfluous by Wikipedia's standards (which most plot summaries are). Regarding two recent moves[edit]

I noted on my watchlist that you moved Nightshade (2003 video game) to Nightshade (PS2), yet earlier why did you move Shinobi (2002 video game) to Shinobi (PlayStation 2)? To be consistent, the dabbing should be neither "(PlayStation 2)" or "(PS2)" but whatever it was before (not to mention this other move). Please explain below. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:09, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Because I originally tried to moved Nightshade (2003 video game) to Nightshade (PlayStation 2), but it didn't allow me to make that move since the title was used for a previous redirect. I was planning to make move request, but I didn't had the time at the moment, so I just simply moved the article to Nightshade (PS2) as a placeholder. As for Nightshade (NES) to Nightshade (Nintendo Entertainment System)? I think having the platform's full name as a disambiguation is a bit more formal, but that's just personal preference. Jonny2x4 (talk) 00:30, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it looks like you're gonna have to move them all back. This is per what Xeno said over at WP:RM. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:50, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The same guidelines Xeno posted also favors platform-specific disambiguation (although, it does say ports/remakes though). I think its pretentious to disambiguate based on the year of its release, when it was released only for one platform. Jonny2x4 (talk) 01:26, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gamecruft[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions, but please remember that Wikipedia isn't a place for walkthroughs, cheats, or detailed instructions on how to play a game. For more information please read the video game guideline. Thank you. --Megaman en m (talk) 14:37, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I know the guidelines better than anyone (I've been editing here far longer than you). But the "power-ups" section in Contra does not violate those guidelines. The Super Mario Bros. article describes what each of the three power-ups (the Mushroom, Fire Flower, and Starman) does in the game, so I see no objection in doing the same for Contra (especially since the same article has a super-detailed section describing the plot differences between supplemental materials in a game with a minimalist plot). "Gameguide content" would providing super-detailed descriptions on how each weapon works, where to find them, and which one to use on certain enemies. MGS: PW[edit]

Hey Jonny2x4,

I undid your undoing of my edits to the article on Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. I left a small message at my edit summary, but I think it is appropriate to leave you a message at your talk page as well. Anyway, I put the correct use of cast back in – instead of going for character (v.b. actor) I changed it back to character voiced by actor. The word site, as in website, isn't capitalised. On a sidenote, I perfer the three little words also known as above the abbreviation aka, but that's just my opinion. Thanks, and happy editing! --Soetermans | is listening | what he'd do now? 21:29, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand why you did that. Is it really that necessary to spell out which character are voiced by which actor in full sentences? Its too cumbersome, especially when its more convenient to just list the names of the characters and their voice actors instead. Just because it seems more formal to you doesn't mean its better. Jonny2x4 (talk) 21:47, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I'm just trying to follow WP:STYLE. In my personal opinion I don't see a huge difference between '(v.b. actor)' and 'voiced by actor'. Normally I would go for actor as role, but in that manner the character comes second. Anyway, we'll probably wind up with an wikitable in the end. --Soetermans | is listening | what he'd do now? 08:41, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Andrew Ryan[edit]

Is it really appropriate to immediately suggest a merge after a few hours of existence? I think I've done a pretty good job of asserting notability, showing comparisons of the character to the book Atlas Shrugged, a good start on info on his origin and creation, a comparison to the titular character in Citizen Kane, an award from a fairly notable gaming magazine, etc. It shouldn't take too long to find more information. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 05:47, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're asking the wrong question. Its not a matter whether a character is "notable enough" to warrant his own article, but whether that notability is independent of the works he's in. Even if he's a very popular, his notability is too dependent on Bioshock to whether justify a separate article. Also, why just Andrew Ryan. Doesn't the game have other characters too? Why not just create a characters section for the article and go from there? Its ironic that you mentioned Citizen Kane and Atlas Shrugged. The former doesn't even have a separate article for the title character, while the latter has a separate article covering the characters in the novel (instead of individual articles covering each one). Jonny2x4 (talk) 06:02, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. --Soetermans | is listening | what he'd do now? 19:19, 10 October 2009 (UTC) I just dropped by to see if you had replied to my last message, not stalking you or anything Jonny :)[reply]

Strider[edit]

Your decision on Strider was wack, because those games needed to be noted and described. Eventually someone else will come do your articles the same way.(LonerXL (talk) 21:10, 13 October 2009 (UTC))[reply]

First of all, don't use terms like "wack" here. This isn't some fan-forum where you can address anyone anyway you want. Secondly, I didn't "delete" any of the game specific articles. Strider (arcade game) still exists as does Strider 2, Strider Returns, and Strider (NES).
The reason why I merged Strider Hiryu (series) to Strider (arcade game) is because there's barely much of a series to begin with. Two "true" games and two related ones does not make enough content for a series. There's no point of having a separate series when the sequels could just be described with a couple of paragraphs in the original game's article.
As for Strider Hiryu (character), there was a separate article for the character before your version was written , but it was merged into Strider (video game) because there was not sufficient content to justify a separate article. You can't just split an article and wait for content to be made. You have to write the content first and then split the article. Also, some of your information you added was inaccurate (the original game was not based on a manga, but the manga was a tie-in released before the game).
Anyway, Wikipedia isn't some fansite where you can write everything you want, but I shouldn't even be the one telling you this since there are plenty of guidelines out there like WP:Notability and WP:VG explaining these kinds of rules. Jonny2x4 (talk) 21:30, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmn? You don't like the word "WACK?" I wasn't addressing you, for I was only addressing the decision that you made. Maybe you are not into slang, but in contrast to all the disrespectful things people normally say to each other in this day and age, I think the word "WACK" is a nice alternative! It's not derogatory or racial. It's not even a curse word. Or are we only allowed to use the more fancier and impressive words like "innacurate??" (LonerXL (talk) 22:17, 13 October 2009 (UTC))[reply]
It's not that I don't like the word "wack", its just that people are less likely to treat you seriously if you do. Jonny2x4 (talk) 22:22, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Contra Series[edit]

Hi. I'm a bit curious about the "Other Appearances" section of the Contra Series article. I understand where the two Wai Wai World appearances are and have seen them myself. I've also managed to see the Jaguar unlockable appearance. But I've never come across the Power Kun pocket 8 appearance, nor the Lance Bean name on the TV show. I'm not doubting you, just curious: how did you come to know about these 2 (especially since the former is in a Japan-only game)?

One more, are there any other rare instances of Contra appearances you might know about or any rare/obscure Contra games (official/unofficial)? -Terminegen —Preceding unsigned comment added by Terminegen (talkcontribs) 21:13, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest, I read about the Pawapuro and Best Student Council references from the Japanese Wikipedia article. I just realized that the Sega CD version of Snatcher wasn't listed in the cameo list. Thanks.
The Game Kommander Contra shrine has plenty of info on many Japanese Contra merchandise including a list of soundtracks and books. I know the Contra LCD game ("C") is not listed, but I'm not if that's worth listing. Jonny2x4 (talk) 01:59, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Romaji[edit]

Why are you removing the romaji from every article? Was it discussed in a project? Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 20:26, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Its explained on the VG guidelines, although I'm not sure if it has been applied to the Anime WikiProject. Basically it says that phonetic transcriptions of Japanese titles are not necessary to include in the article unless the Japanese title differs too much from the English one. I never really understood the point of including the romaji of a Japanese transliteration of an already English name or word to be honest. The Japanese Wikipedia doesn't do this. Rare Contra ports[edit]

Do you know any rare Contra ports that are heard very little of or interesting versions or version differences in Contra games? How about any fan-made Contra games? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Terminegen (talkcontribs) 18:20, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is there were any rare version of Contra not listed on any articles that I'm aware of, then I would've probably added then to the article already. As for fangames and rom hacks, there's quite a few pirate originals (including an NES port of Contra III), but nothing particularly impressive as far as I know. Jonny2x4 (talk) 20:07, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As far as these rare versions go, just how official must they be to be mentioned? Because I know of quite an obscure version of Super C released for cell phones in China. It's one of the more recent ports, but earlier than the Japanese release. However, it is indeed approved by Konami. I can get a vid link if need be. By the way, there seems to be no mention of the extremely varying cell phone conversions of the arcade Contra made by Konami Mobile. Lastly, I think that LCD handheld is worth a mention in "other appearances". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Terminegen (talkcontribs) 02:46, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
