MiszaBot I: Flagging Sections to Prevent Archiving

Hi. Is it possible when setting up an article talk page for MiszaBot I archiving to flag/tag certain sections at the H2 level to not be archived? That is, no matter how old a thread is, can it be exempted from being added to the archive? Thanks! — SpikeToronto 08:11, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

After that, i copied the entire talk page to my sandbox and i ran the script with no problems. I also created a talkpage on the same namespace and i ran the script with no errors. Do you have an idea? Thanks alot --VanBrooken (talk) 17:10, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As the error says, that would be because the current archive, fr:Discussion_Projet:Football/Archive13, is for some reason a redirect. Blank it or delete it and you should be fine. Миша13 17:31, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Archive order

There's a question at talk:Monty Hall problem#This New Archiving Taking Place about the section order in a MiszaBotI managed archive. I haven't checked, but the claim is sections are ordered in the archive according to when they're archived, meaning they're effectively ordered by latest timestamp in the section as opposed to the earliest timestamp in the section. This means the archived section order is generally not going to be the same as the original section order. Is this actually the case? Thanks. -- Rick Block (talk) 19:44, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yea, as threads get old by lack of activity, they are moved into the archives. If some threads retain interest and therefore chatter, they (obviously) remain on the page until they get stale. As a result, threads end up in the archives roughly in the order in which the discussions ended, not begun. It would be extremely difficult to reliably reconstruct the order in which the threads were initiated. Миша13 22:58, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bot configuration problem

Request for help with auto-archiving set-up

I set up my User talk page for auto-archiving using this bot a couple of days ago, but nothing has yet happened. I can't see what I might have done wrong. Could someone please take a peek and advise. Thanks! - Deejayk (talk) 17:21, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The configuration for the bot must be before the first ==second level header== on the page, or Miszabot will not find it. Please post on my talk page if you need help with this. --P Carn (talk) 20:39, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
