Thought This Might Make You Feel Better About This Afternoon[edit]

SAGITTARIUS (not that I take much heed in these things, but yeah..) You may settle an important negotiation today. Some will receive news that a delay about a legal concern is over. Meetings with advisers are especially productive. Focus on all the small details like a Virgo does and see how much this doesn't improve your own BIG picture!Blue cadet84

Phone Calls Aren't Going Through[edit]

Hopefully you will get this... but I think my phone ran out of minutes. =( I'm sorry... I'll see you this afternoon. I love you! Blue cadet84

Do I dare to mess up your nice clean page?[edit]

Okay, okay, I did that, even though WP:FB takes forever and a half on dial-up. But your jpg didn't load for me on that page at all. Is it in there correctly? Karen | Talk | contribs 07:06, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for your efforts[edit]

Thanks for the herculean edits on my user page. If you had done, what you did, a day ago, you would have been the first person to vandalize my user page.nids 07:43, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nerds.Geeks.Dorks[edit]

Hello. On Image:Nerds.Geeks.Dorks.gif you put "This image is a single panel from an episode of a webcomic ... a single panel from an episode of a webcomic". That image is not a single panel from an episode of a webcomic. Should I remove/replace the tag? Thanks. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 15:53, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Coding[edit]

Sorry, sirrah, but I am very definitely not much of a wikicode warrior, nor do I know anyone like that offhand. All I would do is fumble around, try to look it up, experiment, and maybe cast around for an example to crib from. Good luck! Karen | Talk | contribs 01:41, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Additional Novels[edit]

WP:FILMS Template[edit]

Just so you know the {{FilmsWikiProject}} has been moved to {{Film}} (it had been moved awhile ago). This should help you when you add the template to pages as now you only have to type {{Film}}. Cbrown1023 19:57, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Templates and ref tags and cites, oh my![edit]

I see you've been fixing article talk pages on which I should have put WikiProject templates but haven't. I really need to learn to do that! I also need to learn proper inline citations, and all manner of other stuff.... Thanks! Karen | Talk | contribs 01:21, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Tagged.PNG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tagged.PNG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Peter O. (Talk) 16:37, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AfD Nomination: TCM Underground[edit]

I've nominated the article TCM Underground for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that TCM Underground satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/TCM Underground. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of TCM Underground during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion.--David Spalding Talk/Contribs 14:53, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to say thanks for adding all those "In print" sections, as well as adding the images of the novelizations. The inevitable[edit]

I figure I should point this out to you in case you haven't noticed yet: Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Archive63#fiveminute.net:_huge_WP:EL_violator.3F

Like I said at the time, this was gonna happen. The editors in question were a little obnoxious about it, but I can't say I disagree with their actions. Parodies really aren't encyclopedic. (We're one step further removed than reviews, and none of those are linked.) I don't know if your inclination will be to fight this, but I don't recommend it. We've already been labelled spammers by these guys -- it's only gonna get worse from there. And I don't want to sound selfish, but I have to point out that I'm sharing the consequences even though I've done nothing. It's FiveMinute.net they're calling a "huge WP:EL violator," not you. One editor even suggested blacklisting us. There is, unfortunately, such a thing as bad publicity.

I really appreciate your efforts, and I hope you won't feel bad about how this turned out. 5M.net is already "notable" where it counts. We're all over TrekToday.com, the hub of online Trek fandom, and we've made progress in lots of other fandoms. Sooner or later we will be WP-notable. I can wait. ~ CZeke 03:46, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Why did you revert my edit with no explanation? We don't have links in an article that redirect straight back to that same article, as the link I removed did. Proto:: 17:39, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When I reverted it, the link no longer re-directed to that short-storey but rather to the short-storey collection by the same name. DrWho42 03:01, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The short story collection was a redirect to the main article until you changed the article. As you changed it to something with no content other than "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream is a collection of short stories by Harlan Ellison featuring I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream", it's been turned back into a redirect. Fair use rationale for Image:S70.jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:S70.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. MST3k episode articles.[edit]

Even though I know I've brought it up before, it's been quite awhile since so I was wondering if you were still interested concerning the whole sort-of-shindig? Always willing to contribute thereto if you're wondering. DrWho42 00:32, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you never answered my question about your specific intention at Talk:Mystery Science Theater 3000#Episodes/Experiments vs. Movies. Can I assume from your posting title that your intention is to create individual MST3K episode articles? I'm on record as believing this could be useful, but am not prepared at this time to do any significant work on it, as I'm stretched way too thin right now. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 08:35, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal: UK radio and radio stations task force[edit]

Hi there.

I notice you are part of the radio Wikiproject. I am discussing a revised idea of starting a task force, part of WikiProject Radio which covers the radio industry, as well as the radio stations of the United Kingdom (in contrast to the original idea to just cover UK radio stations). Discussion on the proposal is here: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Radio Stations#New proposal: UK radio and radio stations task force. Look forward to hearing your views and potential interest in a new task force. Thank you. --tgheretford (talk) 09:41, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, DoctorWho42. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Radiation Theatre.GIF) was found at the following location: User:DoctorWho42/Radiation Theater. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 08:12, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Serenity BSG.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Serenity BSG.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ilse@ 21:54, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Parallelities[edit]

You read Alan Dean Foster's book Parallelities! I know because you contributed the Babe Meets the Road Warrior bit from the fictitious films article. I wrote the article on Foster's book, and also a larger essay about the book on my blog[1]. I've nominated References to The Prisoner in popular culture, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that References to The Prisoner in popular culture satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/References to The Prisoner in popular culture (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of References to The Prisoner in popular culture during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Jay32183 02:14, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Shadowfall_(Deathlands_novel).jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:35, 10 July 2007 (UTC). Thanks for uploading Image:Reckless Engineering.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Old Raw 15:39, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Serenity_BSG.jpg[edit]

I have tagged Image:Serenity_BSG.jpg as a disputed use of non-free media, because there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please clarify your fair use rationale on the image description page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 06:48, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Thomas_Vitale.JPG[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Thomas_Vitale.JPG. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 12:45, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Tatty_dressing_gown.PNG[edit]

I have tagged Image:Tatty_dressing_gown.PNG as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 07:40, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Futurama Comics No.28.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Futurama Comics No.28.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:46, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Seedling.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Seedling.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:38, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
