how to create a page of Hanoi University of Natural Resources And Environment Zio2018 (talk) 13:18, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

huggle[edit]

Hello DoctorWho42, I hope that does not just happen to me. Regards --Serols (talk) 11:37, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Did you get my ping?[edit]

Hey, the "thanks" are starting to creep me out a little; I get that a Doctor Who fan who appreciated my commenting on the title of an article he/she was interested in might check my contribs and be amused by the concept of Japanese being descended from the Lost Ten Tribes (it is an inherently amusing concept), but if you just WP:THANK me a whole lot and don't actually respond when the edits you thanked me for were coming under fire and I ask you to, it comes across a little like you are using the function ironically, which is generally considered an abuse. (And honestly this makes it look a lot like you are thanking everyone for everything they right without necessarily doing so either sincerely or ironically.) I am still assuming good faith here, but I'd really appreciate a comment in words. Hijiri 88 (やや) 01:51, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ya, sure. I thank everyone. cheers~-🐦Do☭torWho42 () 01:56, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Um....[edit]

Would you mind explaining this? Also, how or why you thanked me for an edit I made literally seven seconds after I had made it? It wasn't even on my own talk page, and as near as I can tell has absolutely nothing to do with you. Primefac (talk) 02:14, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

are their guidelines to thanking? I can look them up if it would help. I mostly just thank whoever's edits pop up on my watchlist before they disappear altogether.-🐦Do☭torWho42 () 02:18, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, there are. WP:THANK section "What the feature is not" says that you shouldn't just be spamming thanks. I do not need to be pinged every time you see an edit of mine pop up. It becomes spam and borders on disruptive activity. There is zero reason to thank every person for every edit they make, and I ask you to please consider ceasing this activity in the future. Primefac (talk) 02:22, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
fair enough. i won't use the thank feature then.-🐦Do☭torWho42 () 02:23, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed with Primefac. I initially assumed, based on your username, that you had encountered the same user conduct issues in the same general topic area I had, and appreciated that someone was saying the things you were afraid to. (This was definitely the case with some previous instances.) But after your thanking me for clarifying for Curly Turkey's benefit what the Japanese Jewish Common Ancestry theory was and what the reference to upside-down crucifixion was referring to, I realized that you probably hadn't meant anything in particular by it. Please be a bit more conservative with your "thank"s going forward. Hijiri 88 (やや) 04:25, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

thank you[edit]

just wanted to send a kind word for your response to my talk page comment pertaining to the Mickey Jones page. always appreciate kindness on this website. CanoeUnlined (talk) 02:24, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@CanoeUnlined: looks like i can't thank everyone for their contributions, so i appreciate this last input as an inspiration for wikipedia.-🐦Do☭torWho42 () 02:26, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

See also on Hum (band)[edit]

Why did you add this? Hum aren't ambient music. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 22:15, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

they appear on List of ambient music artists and i have been making sure that anyone who appears on it might link back to the article, although admittedly there are scarce sources to corroborate many of its entries.-🐦Do☭torWho42 () 22:18, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, can you please stop doing additions like this? Adding an entire "See also" section just for a link to that list is low-value in general, and the list is of poor quality. For a band whose music is ambient, readers can click links already in the article to read more about ambient music in general. --Laser brain (talk) 13:42, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Doctor Who The Curse of Fenric.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free book cover being used in a decorative manner in The Curse of Fenric#Commercial releases. Non-free book cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about books, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular book cover anywhere in the article; so, there is no real justification for it's non-free use in this article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:05, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Doctor Who and the Tenth Planet.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free cover art being used in a decorative manner in The Tenth Planet#In print. Non-free cover art is generally considered acceptable when it's used at the top of or in the main infobox of a stand-alone article about the work in question, but it's much harder to justify its non-free use when it's used in other articles or in the body of an article as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3. The cover art itself is not the subject of any sourced critical commentary; so, the context required for non-free use by WP:NFCC#8 is lacking.

-- Marchjuly (talk) 16:30, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:FishCenter Live screenshot (16 January 2018).jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:FishCenter Live screenshot (16 January 2018).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
