Welcome messages[edit]

You seem to be back at spamming hundreds of editors with Welcome messages. Is there any particular reason for this? You have received warnings in the past for such behaviour, and I want to make sure you're not headed back down that road again. Assessing files[edit]

We don't usually assess files for the Ireland WikiProject as there is no actual classification for them. All it does not add a file classification which is obvious by the "File" prefix. As you see out of almost 100,000 pages only 163 have been assessed but their function is basically of almost no use. I personally never bother as I don't see any point in it. Thanks ww2censor (talk) 10:40, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

oh, my mistake! i was not aware but thanks for letting me know. i'll avoid adding image files' talk pages to WikiProject Ireland.--🐦DrWho42👻 10:42, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:22, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, thank you for your contributions. Please could I ask why you're setting collapsed=yes when adding banner shells, e.g. Draft talk:Azriel Dalman? Especially when there is nothing else on the talk pages, and the default is "no" for that parameter. Thank you. -Kj cheetham (talk) 12:00, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was just about to ask this, but I see @Kj cheetham has beaten me to it. My view is that it is only worth considering the addition of collapsed=yes if there are a number of other banners on the page, and/or if the page is within the scope of a very large number of WikiProjects; and not by default.
Also, if you don't mind me asking, can I just double check if these edits are being made manually or (semi-)automatically? It's just that you've made quite a large number of these edits, with a (relatively) short amount of time in between a lot of them. I also just want to make sure you're aware of WP:MEATBOT - given the large volume of edits being made, I would ask that you consider submitting a BRFA.
(Also, I noticed that you've tagged categories such as Category talk:AfC submissions by date/05 December 2023 with {{WikiProject Articles for creation}} -- I'm not a member of that project, but - by my understanding - that template is for pages which have passed AfC review, and the correct template to use here is {{WikiProject Articles for creation (admin)}}.)

Aw yeah! My bad. It was copied from a previous talk page but i'll omit it from now on. the edits are done manually so i apologise for the mistakes!-🐦DrWho42👻 21:47, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
DoctorWho42 also, if you're interested in WikiProject tagging, are you aware of the WP:RATER tool? Plus for your awareness, as part of the WP:PIQA implemention there are a couple of bots running which I believe includes added a banner shell template to all article talk pages which don't already have one. -Kj cheetham (talk) 22:11, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, per above, may I ask you to leave this task to bots? Your edits pollute watchlists and frankly seem like a waste of time. 1234qwer1234qwer4 13:04, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to join New pages patrol[edit]

Hello DoctorWho42!

  • The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
  • We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
  • If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!
