Welcome

Hi Atul, Nice to see your work on the Asiatic Cheetah page. I can understand your passion, but note that you may have to change your style of writing to match the general encyclopaedic content style. So for instance it not generally accepted practise to publicise websites, projects or authors on the article pages. The current content is not in line with general practice of articles so do note that if you do not edit it to the desired expectations, someone else will. Let me know if you need help. best wishes Shyamal 05:14, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Your edits to Asiatic Cheetah appear to consist largely of copying material from other sources, such as [1]. Unfortunately, as per Wikipedia's copyright policy, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted content from other sources, unless that material is provided under a free license. There is apparently usuable user-created content in the article, but it's entwined in the edit history with copyvio material. At some point, we'll want to remove the copyvio material from the history. Until then, I suggest you work with other editors on rewriting the article in your own words (I notice BenPhil has a rewrite in progress in a personal sandbox) and refrain from adding further copyrighted material to it. --Slowking Man 10:29, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Please stop removing the perfectly-civil comments people are making to you over this article. There are numerous problems with your style of contribution, and editors are trying to work with you to resolve those problems. Rudely wiping their comments off your talk-page does not help your argument. HTH HAND —Phil | Talk 10:51, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
I have replied to your message on my Talk page. --Slowking Man 10:50, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Asiatic Cheetah Please note: Any Copied material is under "Fair use" and is properly cited in the reference

This is no littreary attempt by me, the idea is to save this almost extinct cheetah subspecie.

Atulsnischal 11:17, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Please read WP:NOT. The idea is not to save the cheetah, unfortunately. The idea is to write an encyclopedia. While I definitely agree the cheetah should be saved, this is not the place for propaganda, no matter how morally correct. Please do not remove the {{cleanup-rewrite}} tag. --Storkk 11:59, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Some guidelines

Please check out Copyrights, unless you own the website or content being quoted you need to worry about copyright violation. Information may be reorganized and presented in your own form with citation and that would fall under fair use, but verbatim text usage is allowed only for purposes of short quotations only. Copyright is automatically granted and does not require the display of (C) symbols. Regarding the general guidelines for mammal related articles you might want to see/join Wikipedia:WikiProject_Mammals and check out the sample articles there. cheers Shyamal 12:15, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

ridiculous title

No thanks, "A detailed account of the critically endangered “Asiatic Cheetah”, what is being done for its conservation and the importance of modern technologies like cloning in wildlife conservation today." was not wanted. Please abide by consensus as to what should be said about this beast. -- RHaworth 01:18, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

You promptly re-created it. I have blocked you for 24 hours. -- RHaworth 01:21, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

I think you should feel free to edit the article. Remember only that there needs to be some clear form and substance in the content. It needs just a basic writing principles which are easy to learn. The objections of all have not been on the subject, but in the form. It cannot be a mass of material with some parts in capitals, long headers etcetera. I edited the diet, but since you are the expert on the subject perhaps you could cite the relevant research papers and make the article more technically sound. See for instance Russell's Viper for style of a technical article. Shyamal 10:25, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

"ASIATIC CHEETAH":

Hi Shyamal Following is the correct info on Diet of Asiatic Cheetah and I have mentioned the quoted references:

(1 see below) Diet: In Iran Asiatic Cheetah's diet consists mainly of Jebeer gazelle, Goitered Gazelle, wild sheep, wild goat, and cape hare.

(2 see below) The Asiatic cheetah’s range is restricted to the Central Iranian Plateau, with an estimated population of 60 adult cheetahs remaining. The main threat to the Asiatic cheetah is loss of their primary prey species, gebeer gazelle (Gazella dorcas), goitered gazelle (Gazella subgothrosa), urial sheep (Ovis orientalis) and wild goat (Capra aegagrus), due to poaching and grazing competition with domestic livestock. Habitat loss from mining development and poaching of Asiatic Cheetahs also threaten their populations in Iran. "Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS)" and the "Department of Enavironment , Iran (DoE)" hope to begin collaring Asiatic Cheetahs in the fall of 2006.

Whatever it was you were trying to enter with this diff ([2]) it makes no sense. One of the entries is a duplication of the line above (people who work with gold are Goldsmiths, whichever country they are in) and the entry about caste links incorrectly, is in the wrong place and doesn't make much sense. I've reverted. Please reconsider and feel free to replace if you can do so more accurately and meaningfully. --Dweller 10:25, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
