Minutes of meeting[edit]

  • The event began with an introductory speech and words of encouragement by Mr Robert Lejon, First Secretary, Deputy Head of Mission, Economic & Political Affairs, Embassy of Sweden, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • Tofeiku started the workshop by explaining about Wikipedia and Wikimedia projects through presentation slides. He explained that topics on fashion may be an under-looked area in Wikipedia for article creation, especially in the Malay Wikipedia.
  • Ultron90 continued by teaching the participants on how to create Wikimedia accounts and how to edit as well as translate articles on Wikipedia.
  • Zahirulnukman took photos of the event and aided the participants in creating accounts.
  • Steps on how to upload photos were also taught to the participants as well as explanations on Wikimedia Commons-based competitions, which piqued the interest of many participants.
  • The participants were keen to learn on how to cite journal articles on Wikipedia to improve the quality of information being written in the Wikipedia articles.
