Good evening! I tried editing his wikipedia page and am interested why you reverted the changes?

Greetings! Were your reverts of the cap count for Žan Karničnik based on a technical reason (formatting, infobox syntax, etc.), or were they because of a content error (not actually four, not in league play, etc.)? It may be helpful to open talk page discussion if it's a content issue. —C.Fred (talk) 20:58, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The IP did not update the "pcupdate" parameter, he didnt have 4 caps "as of 27 February", it should be changed to the date of the last cap. Snowflake91 (talk) 21:02, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I hope it is right now. 46.233.91.145 (talk) 21:05, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I know it's a pain to clean up after IPs sometimes, but some of them may also pick up on it if we model the correct change for them. Also, if the count is right, the better solution for the article is to update the date, not revert the cap count. —C.Fred (talk) 21:12, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Snowflake91 (talk) 20:52, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
A imaš li možda strelce u baraž mečevima za ostanak/plasman u 1. SNL do 2008 godine? Jolicnikola (talk) 20:54, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

National teams in infoboxes[edit]

Hi there! Wanted to clarify something regarding the order of national teams in infoboxes, after your recent edit on Luka Zahović. I was led to believe they should be listed not in chronological order, but rather the 'seniority' level. That's the cases on pages such as Lionel Messi, Neymar or André-Pierre Gignac. Is there a specific rule listed somewhere that specifies that the chronological order should be used? Cheers and take care! KibolLP (talk) 22:33, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Youth national teams are obviously listed by "seniority" (i.e. you will not list U18 before U17, even if he is capped before), but "B" teams are reserve teams and should be excluded from that I guess, they can be capped many years after making their senior debut. A question[edit]

hello. Long time no see. Not much different, but I have a question. In some cases, the time of being selected for the national team and the time of debuting for the national team are different. For example, in the case of Jo Hyeon-woo, he was selected first in 2015, but made his debut in a match A in 2017. According to Jo Hyeon-woo's document, the national team period is from 2015, and in this case, Gu Sung-yun also debuted in 2019, but was selected in 2015. However, in some cases, it is being corrected, causing confusion. Which is right? Do you know of any wiki articles that could provide a rationale? If you know anything about this, please let me know. thank you. Issue0501 (talk) 18:23, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Issue0501: If you mean national years in infobox – we use the year of first appearance and the year of last appearance (when retired), if he was called to the team and never played, then those years should not be listed. For Jo Hyeonwoo, it should be "2017–", while Sung should have "2019–". Snowflake91 (talk) 09:10, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. If so, do you know of a wiki page where you can see the rules? I'm neutral, but the data of many players is based on the year they were first selected, so if it's an official rule, I think a lot of data should be revised. I don't know where it came from, but it's recorded from when Korean players were first selected, not when they first played. Issue0501 (talk) 10:01, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Consensus#International career timeframe and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 112#question about national years in the infobox Snowflake91 (talk) 10:08, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your kind reply. I have one more question. In this EAFF E-1 Championship, Hwang In-beom played his first game against China and dropped out of the national team list due to transfer problems. In this case, there is a dispute in the Korean version over whether to mark the last call-up as vs. China or the EAFF E-1 Championship itself. I wonder if there is a regulation on which one is correct. Issue0501 (talk) 10:21, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I would use China, but both should be fine and correct Snowflake91 (talk) 10:47, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your kind reply. Issue0501 (talk) 11:23, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WSL[edit]

In regards to my edit on the Women's Super League, I'll try and respond to your edit description here. The Broadcasting section uses numbers in sentences, to quote:

"In March 2021 the FA WSL announced a new record-breaking three-year domestic television rights deal with Sky Sports and BBC beginning 2021–22. Sky will broadcast 44 matches per season with a further 22 matches shown on BBC platforms including a minimum of 18 on BBC One or Two. All other fixtures will remain available to stream for free on the FA Player, the governing body's own over OTT service. Believed to be worth around £8m a season, it is the biggest broadcast deal of any professional women's football league in the world and marked the first time that the WSL's rights had been sold separately from the men's game."

To be honest I don't really have a big issue with this, I just think its consistent to use numbers and/or words since the page uses both. In regards to sponsorship I see no evidence it belongs there as I see nothing to say its sponsorship. I'd argue such a development is not trivial for the league given the sales figures the game regularly receives, plus the fact it’s the first time a women's football league is going to represented in it or any major video game. I think the best place for it is thus in the history section. It’s not a perfect place for it but it seems most fitting of all unless maybe a new section is related, although I don't think there's enough content to fill such a thing. Helper201 (talk) 17:21, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fine with compromising to what you have currently changed it to. Helper201 (talk) 17:23, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The numbers above 12 are not spelled, so it wont be "forty-four matches", but "44 matches" in that case, while twelve should be spelled, see MOS:NUMERAL ("Integers from zero to nine are spelled out in words"). Snowflake91 (talk) 17:43, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I do see a big interest towards the article. I'd wish at least to try to make it a FL, would you help me to get it? Dr Salvus 18:42, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but I dont know what should be fixed as this was already reviewed several times. Snowflake91 (talk) 19:26, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Don't edit the article. I'm arleady editing it and your edits do get me confused. Dr Salvus 20:22, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You didnt actually fix the stuff that was suggested by ChrisTheDude so I fixed it after you, plural/singular stuff was not fixed (are-->is, have-->has), you even changed the sentence to "Juventus holdhare the record" (wtf?), and also what Chris meant is that you need to add "Team from outside the top level of the...", and not to de-link "Italian football system". Snowflake91 (talk) 20:26, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ah right. Silly me... Dr Salvus 20:28, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to have info on attendance, you should search for the word "spettatori". I'm trying to find info at La Stampa newspaper but let's see whether we can find the missing info somewhere else. Dr Salvus 23:41, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes the information is inside the text and you have to read it. You don't speak Italian, don't say it doesn't have it. Dr Salvus 11:50, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Extension of Svit Sešlar Discussion[edit]

Good evening, I have a question that I'd like to ask that's related to the discussion that we had over at the AfD for Svit Sešlar. I didn't want to clutter the deletion discussion with any further comments unrelated to the article's merit. I was wondering if there's any sort of community consensus as to what might be attached to a routine source (like a transfer or contract announcement) that could elevate it to significant coverage. Or is the prevailing opinion that routine announcements will be routine regardless? I've been trying to read through some recently closed deletion discussions to perhaps figure out what's what, but with the differing interpretations of GNG and SIGCOV and all that this proves a confusing and subjective guideline to me. Thanks! SmackJam (talk) 21:35, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Well, routine reports are exactly like this - a short reports about player signing a contract, going out on loan, scoring a goal etc., while significant coverage needs to be significant and in-depth – for example, articles like this, if you take his father Simon Sešlar for example. which way instead of copying official media should be to provide, and how is third colour used called if not third jersey? i notified malay editors and manufacturing company, you are hiding their blue variant and has to be found why; which sources/laws you accept i will look

There is nothing to provide in terms of sources because the third kit doesnt exist, the only official home kit which was presented is this one. And no, if they changed shorts colours in just one game due to conflicting colours of the opponents, that doesn't make this a third kit, that's just your opinion, there are actually a lot of teams that sometimes switch socks/shorts colours on their home kits for specific matches because of the reasons above, if anything this is just a variation of the home kit, and NOT third kit. Hrvatska Nogometna Liga[edit]

I’m not quite sure which of your fallacies I should address first, so let’s do it chronologically: please provide any evidence that my comparison with the articles for the French, German and Spanish leagues is »literally laughable«, otherwise it’s a non-argument that you use, and figuratively laughable. The well-established INTERNATIONAL names would be »The League«, »Federal League« and »League 1«. What you mentioned are the proper NATIVE names of said leagues. You use a lot of buzz-words without any factual backup - what is »world-class« supposed to mean in this context which is the usage of the native name proper? Irrelevant and unfounded. In addition to that, you contradict yourself: »Austrian Football Bundesliga« uses the German name (Bundesliga) (English »Federal League«); »Serbian SuperLiga« uses the Serbian name (SuperLiga) (English »SuperLeague«), »Slovenian PrvaLiga« uses the Slovenian name (PrvaLiga) (English »FirstLeague«). The Swiss and Maltese Leagues use English naming by default, why you mention them here is beyond me. Clearly, you perform significant POV-pushing here, at best your criteria are arbitrary and inconsistent as is the entire messy naming process - unless you proceed and change these names to English names, your stance has no credibility. Lastly, you mention the english edition of the Croatian Football Federation - they call it the »First Croatian League« on the respective page, which is incorrect. You conveniently ignored the official league website, hnl.hr and the name is »Hrvatska Nogometna Liga«, period. I will not engage and waste my time in correcting POV-pushing, however. Good luck. --esse quam videri - to be rather than to seem (talk) 14:17, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

We dont use official native names, but English adaptions, period - and who are you to decide that HNL official website is "incorrect" by calling their own competition "First Croatian League" ? Thats your opinion and nothing else. Snowflake91 (talk) 14:20, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox football tournament[edit]

Hello,

the parameters 'most apperances' and 'top goalscorer' appeared, but the function was deleted by another user on the template ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Infobox_football_tournament ) itself.

The parameters are also mentioned on the page in the article there and would only have to be integrated as a function.

Is there a specific reason these two parameters should not appear? Miria~01 (talk) 21:56, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure about that, there were probably some kind of consensus to remove those parameters for every competition that isn't a domestic league. Snowflake91 (talk) 22:08, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, have started a discussion in WT:FOOTY to ask if there is a consensus that these parameters should only appear in domestic leagues.
I think it would be a pitty, if it should really be the case, but I would of course accept it. Miria~01 (talk) 22:38, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Jordi Amat[edit]

Re: Johor Darul Ta'zim F.C., I see your point. If the changes are against established consensus yet multiple individuals are changing the flag anyway, I suggest:

  1. Create a section on the talk page explaining the established consensus.
  2. Add a short wikitext comment next to to the flag explaining that it is not to be changed without discussion
  3. When reverting edits, reference the section on the talk page

I understand the need to revert incorrect edits. I think it will be much easier if you take the high road and follow the dispute guidelines instead of only reverting.

Because no one has deleted it from the other pages yet, see WP:FOOTYCOLOURS and this discussion Snowflake91 (talk) 14:06, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If that is the case then why isn't it being done?, if people come to a consensus they should edit it themselves. This is the only football team article I've seen that doesn't use a blue background for fourth place teams. Xc4TNS (talk) 23:17, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

South Korea national football team managers[edit]

Hi, Please check out Category:Lists of national association football team managers

There is a list category about national football team manager All articles are not like England national football team manager. Most articles are about just manager list.

Besides, List of South Korea national football team managers are not about just list. This article have manager records.

Let's keep seperate and enrich article like England national football team manager together. Footwiks (talk) 14:21, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

?[edit]

why did you just revert while giving absolutely no reason or making your point. 'how about no' ? that's not exactly a good reason for reverting a constructive edit. hy[Ω]🐐 HyperionLEO (talk). 12:57, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Because thats an overkill and obsolutely zero reasons to add gold coloured backgrounds, its a standrad layout for such lists, maybe get consensus on talk page first before you do major visual changes to articles that are marked as "featured lists". Snowflake91 (talk) 13:03, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Except that’s not standard layout? Have you seen any sports titles list at all? Check the f1 list or the nfl list or literally most such list, and you’ll see it’s color coded hy[Ω]🐐 HyperionLEO (talk). 14:24, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Don't take stuff out of context, the colours at List of Super Bowl champions are to determine division titles and are perfectly fine, while having useless gold background for WC winners is not fine, it adds absolutely nothing to the article since the champions are already listed in left column and the runners-up in right column. Snowflake91 (talk) 14:26, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You realize having everything in black and white on Wikipedia is not good presentation right?😂 it's not out of context, it shows that when required, we regularly highlight cells to show the winner. There was no need for any shading in 2022 Formula One World Championship#World Drivers' Championship standings. It absolutely does add something, the fact that it helps clearly dilineate the winners and losers and adds a degree of presentability. There's no harm done by having colored cells. hy[Ω]🐐 HyperionLEO (talk). 15:55, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, we don't use colours simply for decorative purposes to "not have everything in black or white", and yeah you are right, it shows that when required - but in that case it is NOT required because it is freaking clear that the left-sided teams are the winners and the right-ones are the runners-up, so you don't need to put winners in gold just for the sake of using colours. We also don't have colours for winners in any of the similar football articles, check List of UEFA European Championship finals, List of European Cup and UEFA Champions League finals, List of Copa América finals, List of FA Cup winners etc. etc., and there is a good reason for that. Logo '2023 Men's Junior World Handball Championship'[edit]

Hello @Snowflake91,

you added the Logo 2023 Men's Junior World Handball Championship.png to the article 2023 Men's Junior World Handball Championship.

I'm working on the refernding german article https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/U-21-Handball-Weltmeisterschaft_2023 and would like to add this logo there, too. But I couldn't find your file on Wikipedia Commens German or English.

Could you please send me a link to the source file on your Wikipedia commens?

Or could you add the file directly to the German Wikipedia article https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/U-21-Handball-Weltmeisterschaft_2023?

That would be great. Thank you in advance, Balou20 (talk) 09:06, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

WK League[edit]

In the United States the WK league would be considered professional due to professional ranking status. Agents consider the league professional. Do to language barrier only Korean websites say semi-professional which is the incorrect term if players are being paid, have national team experience and transfer from Chelsea and transfer to clubs like Manchester City. I did my research and I spoke to Agents and this is first division soccer in Korea and considered pro by agents. Please stop changing it back. I put sources to prove this with an international ranking of women’s professional soccer teams. Thank you! Rachelsmith444 (talk) 12:12, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thats your opinion and not what the Korean sources are saying, the league is a semi-professional as only foreign players are getting paid + a couple of best Korean players, no one cares what the agents are saying to you, you need to provide a WP:RELIABLE source which clearly says "WK League is a fully professional league", otherwise it will stay like that. And by the way, your "source" is just a "team ranking based on the performance of clubs in international and national tournaments over the last 12 months" according to the website itself, where on this site does it say that WK League is a professional league? Nowhere, and even if Hyundai Angels is a fully-pro club, that DOESN'T mean that entire league is fully-pro. Snowflake91 (talk) 12:18, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And no, just because Ji So-yun joined the WK League from Super League, that doens't suddenly makes this league "fully professional", if only a few players have pro contracts, that makes the league semi-professional. Snowflake91 (talk) 12:23, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Rachelsmith444, I'm South Korean, WK League is definitely Semi-professional League. As you say, WK League players are being paid. That's right. But Players in Boeun Sangmu WFC. They are also professional soldiers. There is a some lack in Professional League. And, in the South Korea. Anyone including press don't think that WK League is Professional League. South Korean Women Football's long period objective is launch a fully professional League.Footwiks (talk) 11:32, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See above, this is just a team ranking based on domestic performances and nothing more, it is nowehre said that all teams from this country are fully professional. Snowflake91 (talk) 12:18, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Club years discussion[edit]

Hi, I opened a discussion about club years in player infobox.

As you know, K League, J League, Major League Soccer and so on, season is one year (2022 season, 2023 season) But European Football League and so on, seasonsi conseccutive year (2021-2022 season, 2022-2023 season)

This difference cause confusion about club years in infobox and I think that this is very important issue about club years of K League players.

If you have spare time, please participate in discussion. Footwiks (talk) 11:21, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Korotan[edit]

I can't understand: NZS says DNŠ aren't the successor of Korotan, but in their national cup they play as Korotan? Ame71 (talk) 10:45, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

And who can prevent them to use the name "Korotan"? They can use whatever they want for the name, even though NK Korotan Prevalje and DNŠ Prevalje are legally two different entities, but they cannot prevent them to use the name and compete as "Korotan Prevalje", same as NK Olimpija Ljubljana (2005) case. See their Facebook, of course they won't call themselves "DNŠ Prevalje", thats just how they are legally registered in the company register when the old club was liquidated for high debts. Snowflake91 (talk) 10:50, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks. I will use [[DNŠ Prevalje|Korotan Prevalje]] also in the Italian wikipedia. Ame71 (talk) 04:22, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lanišek never actually jumped 149 m anyway (only 133 m)[edit]

I agree with you about the "Bloudkova velikanka" longest ever jump to be deleted, as it turned out that Lanišek never actually jumped 149 meters in Planica 2014, as it was published. But it was only 133 meters. As Cene Prevc explained in Planica 2023 (RTV Studio) he and Lanišek back then (in 2014) both jumped circa 133 meters, but from much lower gate than nordic combined skiers. Jury simply compensated lower gate with distance, adding them more meters instead of points/time, as there was no gate/wind compensation back then in Nordic combined. Parmanjan Kyum[edit]

Hello SnowFlake91, I would like to point out that an edit you deleted of mine, you wrote in the comments "do not include "other" in the table if he has 0 "other" appearances per Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players". I would like to inform you that I am fully aware of this article and nowhere does it state what you have written.

Please do not feel as I though am trying to criticise you, as if you see all my edits I follow the same template taken from Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players.

Regards Kai Lau (talk) 19:00, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it does, it clearly says "inappropriate columns can be omitted, e.g. if the player has never played in a country with a League Cup competition, or in a Continental competition", which is obviously valid for "other" competitions as well since Guangzhou / Henan never played in any other competition beside CSL / FA Cup / AFC CL when Kyum was part of the team, not to mention that you reverted all other edits including fixing weird sentence when word "as" was used in a completely wrong way. Handanovic[edit]

Hi. I saw your edits and I'd like to think you are active with the footballers article. The article Samir Handanović has been edited by both of us for a long so i wrote you to ask your opinion about something "cosmetic" i wanted to do to the article. I was wondering if we can devide the club career section, more specifically his inter milan section in "minisections" (hopefully I'm making sense). To give you an idea of what I'm thinking about I'm going to demonstrate it below.

  • 2012–2015: Debut and first years
  • 2015–2017: Champions League pursuit
  • 2017–2020: Captain armband and return to Champions League
  • 2020–: First trophies and decline

It would like to do this instead of the boring "2012–13 season" and so on. I think the content i wrote on top would look better cosmetically. Let me know what you think. Best regards. ––––Sadsadas (talk) 23 April 2023, 19:28 Sadsadas (talk) 23:28, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Sadsadas: Yes, this is how the career section should be like according to other articles of top tier footballers, if someone was at the club for 11+ years it makes no sense for having a sub-section for every single season, you can change it if you want. Snowflake91 (talk) 09:26, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Snoeflake91: Hey whats up. I did finish the career section. Let me know how it looks, and feel free to make a change if needed. Thank you.

RK Krim leaving players[edit]

Hello, why do you delete where the leaving players will play? Pressburg10 (talk) 06:04, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this even important? This belongs to the player's article, not the club's article, leaving/joining section should just list all the players that left/joined, and not the clubs where they will play in the next season. Snowflake91 (talk) 09:44, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It is everywhere there, at every clubs without problem. Why do you want to decide it alone, that its unneccesary?! This is not your page, not your property. Its very unfair you want do decide it alone what can be on this site. Pressburg10 (talk) 10:47, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Its not your page either, can you link where is the consensus reached for this at WP:HANDBALL or anywhere else? WP:OTHERSTUFF applies, it doesn't really matter if every other article has this. Snowflake91 (talk) 11:01, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, its not mine, and not yours. I only use the same rules, as at every clubs. This is the only page where it can't be on the page, and its your own decission. Is it fair?
I don't like your style, sorry. You are not able to work with others. Pressburg10 (talk) 11:26, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Again - who decided that this is the official style for handball clubs? No one as the WP:HANDBALL project is more or less dead and inactive anyway, it was probably decided by one person (you?), and then it was just copy/pasted to other articles, so the argument "this is used at every other articles" is not really valid, per WP:OTHERSTUFF. The sources are saying that the players have left the club after their contracts expired so they left the club as free agents, this is not football as there are no direct transfers between clubs for money in handball, so the information for which club has one player signed while being contractless is irrelevant to RK Krim. Snowflake91 (talk) 11:36, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It was not me. Do what you want. Pressburg10 (talk) 12:54, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I believe Portuguese newspapers should be correct about a Portuguese player; plus, if you leave that version of the box, the Sporting storyline will be incorrect.

  • I browsed the web a little more, could not find any Sporting CP official lineup/news report. But, for common sense, i can tell you that the ones i sent you are very likely correct, since they present Ricardo Esgaio as RB, Tobias Figueiredo and Nuno Reis as CB and M. Pinto as LB. Not saying it could never happen, but it seems unlikely that they played with two right-backs.

Hiya! Wanted to clear up why and how I made the edit regarding Dino's honours - it seems unlikely that he would be credited for winning the 2012-13 Slovenian Cup, as he was not part of matchday squad once during that campaign - he did however make an appearance during the 2015-16 edition. Soccerway seems to more and more unreliable every day. If the preferred way is to credit him for the 2012-13 win however, I won't argue with that and will be happy with the call you make. Cheers! Your recent editing history at Endri Çekiçi shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Hi Snowflake91, it looks like you're engaged in an edit war at this article. You're experienced enough to know to engage rather than revert which it looks like you've done. Also I'd caution you about edit summaries such as this where you ask if another editor is illiterate. That's a clear personal attack and isn't conducive to productive editing particularly with a newish editor who may not know that what they're doing is disruptive. @MHcc20: Then spend another 10 minutes and fix it, where is the problem? Why should other people fix the wrong edits after you? Hi Snowflake91, I have a question regarding Suwon Samsung Bluewings' relegation. I'm a relatively new soccer fan, so there are gaps in my understanding of how K League works. My question is, does Suwon Samsung Bluewings' relegation take immediate effect? That is to say, should all the current squad be added to Category:K League 2 players if they are not already categorized as such? plicit 12:48, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Explicit: The team is relegated to the second division for the 2024 season as they finished in the last place, this is official. Regarding players, you should not add K League 2 players categories right away, because we don't know which players will stay with the team for the 2024 season - the player needs to made at least one appearance in the K League 2 to be put into this category. And those categories are permanent and not for the current season only, so do not remove "K League 1 players" from any of the Suwon players, if the player made at least one appearance in K League 1 at any time in his career it should still be in this category. Thanks for the valuable information, I'll keep on eye out for the next season. plicit 13:01, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

AFC Champions League Sponsorship[edit]

Hello,

I understand on your intention to keep it simple (Hence you revert my edit), but there's a need for a clarity as well. You can see at the bottom part of the AFC Champions League page on the AFC website and it's clear that they separate those sponsors, and at least in the Konami announcement the AFC mention them as "Official Supporter"

It is what it is, so I put them back. Thank you. MArvAlcao17 (talk) 06:09, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

South Korea/Iraq football editor[edit]

Thanks for pinging me at WP:AIV. By the time I saw your message, the new sockpuppet had already been blocked, but that is obviously not enough, so I took a few more steps, including semi-protecting the articles, and extending the partial block to cover editing by accounts, not just anon-editing. (I intended to do that originally, and leaving it at anon-only was a mistake.) Naturally, please feel welcome to contact me again if you see more from the same person. I am willing to consider other blocks and protections if necessary, but I would like to keep a total IP range block in reserve if really necessary, to minimise collateral damage. JBW (talk) 17:48, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@JBW: Thanks for all the help, here is just one more account – Fukuokakawa (talk · contribs), it was registered last week and is now close to having 10 edits, so he *might* use this account to edit protected articles due to having autoconfirmed status, so better to block it in advance. Snowflake91 (talk) 19:16, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As you may have noticed, I have blocked that account, but I waited until it actually became autoconfirmed. I was also keeping a watch on the affected articles, but since you are clearly much more in touch with them than I am, I've decided it makes more sense for me to leave them, on the understanding that you can contact me about any problems if you think it a good idea to do so. JBW (talk) 12:56, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@JBW: He is back, the account was registered almost immediately after the previous account was blocked on 28 December, see Samurainippon00 (talk · contribs). 14:51, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What does "RV" mean?[edit]

Regarding the article Suwon FC, you manually reverted the edits of adding both Pratama Arhan and Josepablo Monreal, with the reason as "rv". Please explain in detail what it means. JoshuaInWiki (talk) 13:28, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tauplitz/Bad Mitterndorf[edit]

As you can see at the official FIS results is promoting it as Tauplitz/Bad Mitterndorf, because the hill is located at "no one's" land, between both settlements. I don't know why would you oppose that? Sportomanokin (talk) 11:44, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Its true that it says "Tauplitz/Bad Mitterndorf" because thats probably how they brand the competition, while the official address of the competition at FIS website says "Furt 75, 8982 Furt, Bad Mitterndorf", so its not really "no one's land", the entire area is part of the Bad Mitterndorf. Gimcheon Stadium[edit]

I wanted to know why the image of Gimcheon Stadium that I added in the stadium article was reverted, and on the German Wikipedia itself, the stadium article has the image, why? Jose the Engine (talk) 14:37, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You cannot insert the image like this obviously, it needs to be in infobox. Snowflake91 (talk) 14:45, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that there is no infobox Jose the Engine (talk) 14:47, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

AFC Champions League Sponsorship (Part 2)[edit]

Hello,

Talking about another new sponsor, I know We don't have the official announcement, yet. But it's the AFC who put those "Visit Saudi" advertising, not me.

I could even put the "OleOle Sport" but it's kind of a mysterious entity, so I didn't put that.

You're welcome. MArvAlcao17 (talk) 12:38, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"I know We don't have the official announcement, yet" - exactly, and we won't add anyting until they announce it. Snowflake91 (talk) 12:41, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Then why did they put that? Similiar to "Visit Qatar" sponsorship in the UEFA National Team competitions (Including Euro 2024), yet the UEFA didn't even bother to annouce it. MArvAlcao17 (talk) 12:43, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know? Mail them and ask or something, maybe its just a team-related sponsorship and not AFC sponsorship. Snowflake91 (talk) 12:45, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
"Visit Saudi" appears in all sides of advertising hoardings in all of the West Asia matches, but none of them in East Asia matches. MArvAlcao17 (talk) 12:48, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's now been listed on the AFC website, weirdly as a "Global Partner" MArvAlcao17 (talk) 14:24, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Today Žan Benedičič made his debut in A lyga.A lyga online -- Makenzis (talk) 14:15, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, and the match is not finished yet, do not add caps/goals when the match is still in progress. Snowflake91 (talk) 14:17, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kia Tigers mascot edit undid[edit]

Hello,

I was just wondering why my edit on the Kia Tigers' mascot was undid.

Successors to Czechoslovakia[edit]

FIFA considers both the Czech Republic and Slovakia to be successors to Czechoslovakia. For example, Czechoslovakia qualified for two U-20 World Cups and 6 U-21 Euros, so the first six goes to both. Furthermore, the tallies of independent Czech Republic and Slovakia are added with 6 Czechoslovak appearances together to get the final tally of each. Khoa41860 (talk) 17:28, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Khoa41860: Where is the source for FIFA then? Where is the source that U21 national team inherited Czechoslovak records, this is not mentioned anywhere yet you added it to the UEFA European Under-21 Championship article. And as I said, there cannot be 9 different teams reaching the quarter-finals in a single edition as this would break entire logic in the table. And by the way, that uefa.com news reports are usually written by local correspondents directly related to the country in the article, so this does not represent the official UEFA's view of the matter. UEFA links are also very conflicting, see this article from 2017, it says "Slovakia's sole previous U21 finals appearance was in 2000, when they came fourth on home soil", so it was their only second appearance in 2017. And by the way, why did you did this problematic edits at several articles while being logged-out? Snowflake91 (talk) 18:27, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I tried no citations, but when I logged in I put in citations. 2600:1700:B0A1:5F0:347C:CE4A:B290:7A2A (talk) 19:32, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ie. transfer rumours on club handball pages - it is a common practice for substantiated rumours to appear on the transfer sections here on Wikipedia. Any rumours must include a question mark to ensure they are not taken as confirmed. I have corrected the format of the Alex Bognar transfer once again for now - please do not revert this change. Williehuggies (talk) 13:50, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No, we absolutely do NOT post any kind of rumours on Wikipedia since this is an encylopedia and not a yellow live transfers website. "Any rumours must include a question mark to ensure they are not taken as confirmed" – I've never seen bullshit like that before, anyone who set this as "consensus" (and there is no and will never be any kind of consensus like that) should have been banned immediately for blatantly violating one of the core rules of Wikipedia, like posting only officially confirmed, verificated and sourced material. See WP:RUMOUR, there is nothing more to say. Snowflake91 (talk) 14:26, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
