Minot City Transit

Hi, you recently reverted my changes on the Minot City Transit page for not including citations. Since I didn't add new information to the page - just copy-editing and adding a link to public transport - I'm not sure what kind of citation would be appropriate. Thanks. Sorry, but I don't know what you're doing with the "didn't cite a reliable source" stuff--it's obvious vandalism. Drmies (talk) 01:45, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

@Drmies: Your statement is correct, but it is OK to assume it as unsourced addition just like this: diff. I remember that I have seen some diffs that the unsourced content is unsourced. If someone added a person to the "Governor" part instead of the current, it is unsourced, right?----Rdp060707|talk 01:49, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

  • Depends on the person. I don't see why you would assume good faith here. Stills is the governor, and there is no Odicci Alexander or Odessa Alexander. I suppose, strictly speaking, you could say "no source provided" for every act of vandalism, but at some point it gets silly. Drmies (talk) 02:02, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

Grendel's Mother

Hi, I'm the guy who just tried to edit Grendel's mother. I'm confused for why I'd need a citation for the simple observation that she never attacks humans until after her son is slain, as that's something that anyone fammiliar with the events of the story would know. If I were to provide a citation it'd be a simple link to the actual text of the poem itself. Kinda like asking me to cite the fact that Grendel kills people. 2001:48F8:402A:618:0:0:0:605E (talk) 03:11, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

@2001:48F8:402A:618:0:0:0:605E: I would suggest that you should provide a reliable source instead of adding a content without them and original research. ----Rdp060707|talk 05:50, 4 June 2021 (UTC) @Rdp060707: That doesn't answer my question. CZTS

In CZTS, the article is about CZTS, NOT David Mitzi. The entry on David Mitzi is unneeded, and no substantial info on CZTS was removed. The info on the 12.6% research is still there. Meant to post info about change there, but hit the wrong button. PS Device Characteristics of CZTSSe Thin-Film Solar Cells with 12.6% Efficiency, Wei Wang , Mark T. Winkler , Oki Gunawan , Tayfun Gokmen , Teodor K. Todorov ,Yu Zhu , and David B. Mitzi You will note that David Mitzi is listed dead last in this cited research paper. Normally, the lead researcher will be listed 1st, presumably Wei Wang. PPS You will note that the removed section reads exactly like a section in a resume. PPPS Also, David Mitzi is one of 7 different researchers that worked on this, and should not be singled out. 71.218.243.31 (talk) 18:09, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

edits for VERONIKA

Hello dear. All edits for VERONIKA are made from her direct information. All are relevant and informative for an encyclopedia in particular that seeks to inform and not hide. The links are verified and provided by VERONIKA

In November of 2020 VERONIKA joined World Peace Tracts as a World Peace Ambassador and stated in her application "I want to research conflicts and opportunities for World Peace Ambassadors to secure a ceasefire or a prisoner exchange"

She provided granular details about her life that is mandated to include into her wiki profile as informative to the public and within guidelines. Veronika Mudra is a women rights activist, TEDxWOMEN speaker, founder and CEO of the White Ribbon USA, chairwoman of the White Ribbon in Ukraine, social entrepreneur. Veronika was studying social work and financial management in Ukraine. In 2013 she immigrated to the US as a refugee under a domestic violence protection program and was granted asylum. In 2014 Veronika Mudra co-founded White Ribbon Ukraine that initiated the first NGO organized nationwide public awareness campaign against domestic violence towards women. In 2017 she advocated in Parliament for the criminalization of domestic violence in Ukraine and established annual White Ribbon Days in Parliament. White Ribbon Ukraine was supported by the US Embassy, Embassy of Canada, National Police, and the First Lady. In 2018 she co-founded White Ribbon USA in California and now works on several nationwide campaigns against domestic violence and women empowerment including joining the White Ribbon VA campaign with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. White Ribbon USA team of partners under Veronika’s management initiated an important IT project the first in the U.S. mobile app of a full cycle of self-help for domestic violence victims. Veronika advocates for the Hague Convention Reform in the Domestic Violence aspect. Her story became an inspiration for a film currently under production in the US. White Ribbon USA also produces a short film called ‘Reunited’ based on a true story of refugees under domestic violence.

Please review:

Removing equals improving Wikipedia:Reverting says "if you feel the edit is unsatisfactory, then try to improve it". Context implies "...rather than remove it". You seem to be a wikipedia deleter which makes you a vandal... Please stop wasting everyone's time.

I gave up adding things to Wikipedia years ago because of this kind of approach. Adding any content is deleted without positive interactions. This just re-afirmed adding things is waste of time. I really don't care about the content that much. I just think it should be fun and positive. Not what this is.....

Good luck and continue turning people off because you so heavy handedly deal with things.. help don't destroy please......

Tell me what information I need to provide about public housing? Do you happen to have any public housing failures in your city or country? Is that why you don't like my edits? 184.146.44.68 (talk) 07:55, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a valid source for Wikipedia- that would be circular logic. Like saying I am a queen because as queen I declare myself queen... you can't do that. I would say you need to read WP:RS which explains what you need in the way of citations and sources. Also- as a warning, if you accuse another editor of being a vandal just because they revert your unsourced information- you will be banned for making personal attacks. You changed my edit because you said it wasn't sourced. All of the edits came from Wikipedia's entry for Hurricane_Katrina. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Katrina#Government_response ... I didn't think that "sourcing" content by quoting Wikipedia was allowed.

Also, I changed the order of several comments in the Michael_D._Brown entry because they weren't chronological and therefore difficult to follow. All I did was cut and paste from one part of the Michael_D._Brown entry into a different part of the entry.

Therefore, my "sources" for the changes were *entirely from Wikipedia.* Some comments were from "this same Wikipedia entry." Other comments were from Hurricane_Katrina.

I don't understand *why* you felt it necessary to undo the changes. I don't believe it was the reason you gave ... that the information wasn't sourced. Nothing that I copied from other parts of Wikipedia were new or controversial. It made the story clearer, and easier to follow. But there's nothing new in those changes at all.

Why are you deleting my edit? Debashis Debata 39 (talk) 05:32, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) hi @Debashis Debata 39! if I understand these reverts correctly, those edits have been removed for issues regarding the wiki's manual of style. for mostly technical reasons (such as speech synthesizers and spell checkers), we require non-english text to be wrapped around a {{lang}} template. for example, in International System of Units, french text in the line SI, abbreviated from the French Système international (d'unités) had the code of {{lang|fr|Système international (d'unités)}} to indicate the text
to apply it to your latest reverted edit in Siddhanta Mahapatra, the code would be {{lang|hi|ସିଦ୍ଧାନ୍ତ ମହାପାତ୍ର}} (using "hi" as it is the language code for Hindi) which would display as ସିଦ୍ଧାନ୍ତ ମହାପାତ୍ର. the relevant article in the manual of style regarding this would be MOS:OTHERLANG. if you have any questions, please feel free to ask here, in my talk page, or in the teahouse. happy editing!   melecie   t 06:15, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
MOS:INDICSCRIPT applies to Mahapatra's article. Elizium23 (talk) 06:19, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
(edit conflict) wait, apologies: only now have I learned of the existence of WP:INDICSCRIPT which says to avoid adding hindi at all and instead settling for International Phonetic Alphabet spellings, which... is honestly complicated, so for now I advise you hold off from adding hindi translations. thanks,   melecie   t 06:19, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

Racism In Wikipedia

Hi there! I am Umar Bin Tariq and I recently read your article about the chair and someone I don't know named the footrest of a chair as Ottoman. You may know better than me about the Ottoman Empire and the Ottoman Caliphate. Isn't it racism to devalue the Empires or Caliphates who ruled approximately half of the globe? (talk page watcher) hi @Lucasbenja! your edit seems to have been reverted for not citing this information, as information has to be as verifiable as possible. to cite it, you may find a reliable, secondhand source, usually from newspapers, books, websites, and the like; then you wrap it around an appropriate reference template to add it to an article. feel free to put the link for your citation here, then I or rdp may be able to help. happy editing!   melecie   t 10:50, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello! I've seen the really good work you do, so I'm glad that we now have the opportunity to connect. We've both reverted edits of Shalala that change the birth date to 1960. The History of Oromo migrations

The so called "Galla invasion of Ethiopia" is also a tale. It was first written around 1590 by a monk called Bahrey and henceforth European historians and others almost invariably accepted this story as a fact. From his writing, it is evident that he was biased against Oromo. The following quotation from Bahrey, (in Beckingham et al, 1954), vividly illustrates typical Abyssinian cultural, religious and racial biases against Oromo. He began his book "The History of the Galla": "I have begun to write the history of the Galla in order to make known the number of their tribes, their readiness to kill people, and the brutality of their manners. If anyone should say of my subject, 'Why has he written a history of a bad people, just as one would write a history of good people?', I would answer by saying 'Search in the books, and you will find that the history of Mohamed and the Moslem kings has been written, and they are our enemies in religion." In fact, it appears that the main purpose of his writing was to encourage Abyssinians against Oromo. Bahrey, Atseme, Harris, Haberiand and others description of what they called the 'Galla invasion of Ethiopia' as an avalanche, a sudden overwhelming human wave which could be likened to a flood or swarms of migratory locust is unrealistic and difficult to imagine to say the least. Hi. Yeah, I expected my edit to be pulled, as I neither have, nor can provide, a written account, or published citation for the information. It's a personal reminiscence, closely related to the article, which I didn't want lost to time. It's okay if it remains unpublished, as it will still be "in the backroom", so to speak, associated with the main entry. Thanks for your attention and participation in making Wikipedia the indispensable tool that it is!

Neath

Hey I added something on the Neath page, its true and you can ask Neath Council yourself, I have an image for the plans if that helps? Debatablefootballopinions (talk) 09:02, 28 June 2021 (UTC)

Sean Feucht

The inclusion of that last line was gratuitous. It was correctly edited out. Please don't TOUCH my edits. Remember the 3R rule!

Regarding MEPC Edit Reversal

Hi! I am an intern at MEPC trying to do my job of editing the page to replace new and old members. The info I deleted was purposefully deleted, and the information I am adding is the most up-to-date, you can check the website. Thanks!

Regarding the Vibarnium- here is the link to the vibranium CIA source https://twitter.com/cia/status/1099844069092741121?lang=en
