Talkback

Hello, Parutakupiu. You have new messages at Template talk:Infobox FIBA tourney.
Message added 23:59, 29 September 2010 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Signpost "Features and admins" column

Hi Parutakupiu,

The Signpost's "Features and admins" page now includes a "Choice of the week" for featured articles, featured lists and featured pictures. Each week, The Signpost invites a different delegate, reviewer or nominator from each process to select what they think is the best, or their favourite, item, and to give their reasons. These reasons can be technical (e.g., related to the Criteria) or subjective, or both.

Would you be willing to do this with featured lists for next week's edition? If you agree, promotions from Saturday 25 September to 1 October will be eligible. They will be listed here by Saturday UTC, and we would need your text by Sunday UTC. Examples from previous weeks are accessible by clicking on "← PREVIOUS Features and admins" at the bottom. Cheers, Dabomb87 (talk) 14:05, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

OK, I can do that. So, if I understood correctly, I'd be choosing from featured lists promoted during this week, right? Parutakupiu (talk) 16:06, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! And yes, just the past week's FLs. I'll let you know when the page is ready for you. Cheers, Dabomb87 (talk) 22:14, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Hi, it's ready. Just one caveat: you can't select your own ;) Dabomb87 (talk) 20:08, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
Aww, darn. :D Parutakupiu (talk) 20:35, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
There. Hope it satisfies you. You're free to copyedit it. Thanks for the invitation! Parutakupiu (talk) 23:43, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for your help. One more thing: can you comment on the 3b issue raised by Struway at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Intercontinental Cup (football) winners/archive1? Thanks, Dabomb87 (talk) 00:18, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Olympics-related lists

I don't believe you have signed up to compete in next year's WikiCup competition, but consider it if you plan on nominating lots of content for Good or Featured status. It's all in fun, and to quote Durova, winner of the 2009 Cup, "Wikipedia is the real winner". Anyways, Olympics lists are not what I typically work on, but I do love viewing them. If you ever want to work on additional lists together, let me know. Assuming I am not working on too many other projects at the time, I'd be happy to help when I can. I believe lists (both in general and for WikiCup) can be nominated jointly, so we could both benefit from the collaboration. In the meantime, I am looking forward to watching List of 1992 Summer Olympics medal winners evolve. --Another Believer (Talk) 16:15, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

It does seem entertaining and a good way to drive the improvement of many pages. The thing is I like to enter things with a committed spirit and I'm not sure if at times I'll have both the time and patience to make myself continue in this competition. I edit when I feel like it and not under the pressure of trying to stay in competition. But I might try... just for fun. ;)
As for a cooperation, I'm all in! Two heads think better and faster than one... and four hands type faster than just two, hehe. Parutakupiu (talk) 16:36, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
I understand. I have no intention of winning the competition--I just think it might be fun and encourage me to keep generating quality work. Let's definitely keep one another in mind for future collaborations! --Another Believer (Talk) 16:42, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:United States 2018-2022 FIFA World Cup bid logo.svg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:United States 2018-2022 FIFA World Cup bid logo.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Ana Galvão requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies.

As you rescued the article from WP:BLPPROD, I thought you might be interested in this assertion, as well. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 10:12, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Template:Final

A tag has been placed on Template:Final requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. — This, that, and the other (talk) 08:32, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Autopatrolled

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! Courcelles 10:36, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Retiring from Wikipedia

I just wanted to let you know that I am retiring from Wikipedia effective this weekend. It is not out of issues with Wikipedia policy, other users, or Wikipedia itself. There has been a change in priorites for me in being engaged for marriage later this year along with a job-related exam in October.

Thank you for working with me on various Olympic projects. It has been an honor working with you. Chris (talk) 14:47, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

1952 Winter Olympics review question

First off thanks for your time and finding some glaring mistakes on my part. Regarding the image issue, I will look for the logo amongst the source material but my question is do you think that the image left as it is would kill an FA bid? I'd really hate to not find a suitable substitute image and then not be able to promote it to FA over such a small issue. Thanks again for your help. H1nkles (talk) citius altius fortius 18:52, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

You're more than welcome. I believe that reviewers will understand that the mistake comes from the source itself, which happens to be the best source regarding an Olympics topic. I'd go ahead and see what comes of it. Cheers! Parutakupiu (talk) 22:44, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Paulojmartins

Hello. You seem to care about Portuguese football in Wikipedia. I'd like to alert you about the user Paulojmartins who seems to be upset about Benfica not being the club with the most trophies. As such, he's been adding unofficial trophies to many pages (Taça Ribeiro dos Reis and Taça FPF, as well as Latin Cup). Since I am an IP and you probably have some shine and are a regular contributor, I'd like to ask you to watch him for the sake of Wikipedia, please. It is a shame that the Portuguese Wikipedia effectively does a better job and keeping these vandals away. Thank you 188.80.227.188 (talk) 23:38, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I saw it and disagreed with those edits but did not want to revert as I was already predicting an edit war that I would not like to feed. I was waiting on someone to do that part. But if I'm not wrong, that user Paulojmartins could be the same Paulo Martins that contributes to Portuguese football statistics at the RSSSF database. He can actually be an honest editor, but I would never consider those trophies as major titles or honors in Portuguese football. Parutakupiu (talk) 23:54, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

Invitation to New Orleans developers' meeting

New Orleans Wikimedia Hackathon
MediaWiki and Wikimedia developers' meetup
Hi, Parutakupiu. I'd like to invite you to come to the New Orleans Hackathon 2011. It's an opportunity for MediaWiki developers and Wikimedia operations engineers to come together to work on advancing Wikimedia's tools and infrastructure, focusing on Wikimedia Labs (starting with the dev-ops virtualization cluster), and to train and to squash bugs.

The theme of this event: "the infrastructure of innovation". We're going to improve and discuss the Wikimedia Labs projects infrastructure and other stuff that makes it easier for anyone to supercharge Wikimedia with awesomeness. We're going to work on our gadgets/extensions/tools support, authorization/authentication strategy, dev-ops virtualization, and general training and hacking.

It's mostly going to be dev sprints and bugsmashing, with some discussion and workshops. The event is open to anyone who wants to come and contribute, and is an opportunity to spend time with senior MediaWiki developers & ops engineers, write beautiful code, and learn about the latest developments.

If you can make it to New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, 14-16 October 2011, we'd love to have you. Please add your name to the attendees list. Thanks! Sumanah (talk) 20:23, 24 August 2011 (UTC) (Volunteer Development Coordinator, Wikimedia Foundation)

Olympic pictograms

I just noticed the Olympic pictograms; are they all made by you? They are amazing! They appear completely professional and on a par with the official pictograms[2]. I, for one like them better than the London 2012 set. Maybe they can still switch? ;-) — Sebastian 08:13, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

Haha, thanks! :) Yes, they were all my creations... to the world - copyright-free. ;) Parutakupiu (talk) 20:46, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited 2011–12 Taça de Portugal, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Clemente (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Hi Parutakupiu, I've been looking for Olympic Pictograms to put as graphic on a kite. From all the pictograms that I found, I like yours better. You really did a good job. I just wanted to confirm with you if I can use some of them to put as graphic on a large kite for our next kite festival in summer 2012 in Dieppe, Canada?

Should I put your name as the author somewhere on my kite?

Thanks. YvonH — Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.34.62.109 (talk) 17:24, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Hey YvonH. No worries, use at will! And please, don't ruin your kite by adding an online nickname to it. No need to. Have a nice festival. Cheers! Parutakupiu (talk) 01:01, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Sporting Pictograms

Hi There, We really like the sporting pictograms. We are planning to create a flag for a sporting event. If you are the original creator, Could we have your permission to use some of your images on the flag. We could also print an extra one for you as a thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ASpooner2012 (talkcontribs) 12:29, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi. You can use the pictograms you wish, as many times as you like. I created them under a no-copyright license, so you don't even have to state I'm the author. Out of curiosity: what's the event? Cheers. Parutakupiu (talk) 14:28, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi, My son's school are having a sports day and have asked parents for ideas for a flag. This is what we think will look nice, we will let you know what we decide. Thanks again — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.135.125.219 (talk) 09:51, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Commons:Category:Golf

Hi, Parutakupiu! I think the sample golf icon picture you made looks really nice! However I think it would be better to use an "official" golfing icon at Commons:Category:Golf - Now, the U.S. National Park service has its own golfing icon, and it is public domain, so I replaced your unofficial icon there with the NPS picture. Barnstar

Hi there, Just wanted to says cheers and thank you very much for the barnstar! Happened to be on my birthday as well! :) Perhaps you could give me a hand and expand the Euro 2004 page? Let me know as soon as possible. Arbero (talk) 20:21, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Oh, so it's also "Happy Birthday"! :D I'd love to help! It's so much better when more people contribute to the same goal. Just tell me what you need or think it's necessary from my part. Parutakupiu (talk) 20:27, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
I would suggest television coverage, match ball, trophy, etc., something like the Euro 2008 and Euro 2012 articles. Surely it can't be that difficult to find? Arbero (talk) 22:03, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Swedish kit

Just wondering if you are good at creating kits? Could you help me with the Swedish one? I have already added the Swedish kits at the Euro 2008 Group D page, but the blue sleeve won't display. Here is a link from the Polish Wikipedia how it's supposed to look like. Cheers! Arbero (talk) 21:38, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

I took a closer look at the {{Football kit}} template in both English and Polish Wikipedias and noticed that, in the Polish template, the blue sleeve pattern was being called from an image which existed as an SVG file. Unlike its Polish homologue, the English template can only support image files of only one type (all SVG or all PNG), so what I did was to re-upload the blue sleeve image in PNG version that is compatible with the English template. It's working now, if you try. Parutakupiu (talk) 22:17, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I can see that now. Thank for the help, really appreciate it! =) Arbero (talk) 10:20, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

WP Olympics in the Signpost

The WikiProject Report would like to focus on WikiProject Olympics for a Signpost article to be published days before this year's opening ceremony. This is an excellent opportunity to draw attention to your efforts and attract new members to the project. Would you be willing to participate in an interview? If so, here are the questions for the interview. Just add your response below each question and feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Multiple editors will have an opportunity to respond to the interview questions, so be sure to sign your answers. If you know anyone else who would like to participate in the interview, please share this with them. Have a great day. -Mabeenot (talk) 07:05, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Edits on UEFA Euro 2004

I'm trying to copy the UEFA Euro 2012 page, that's why I changed the Goalscorers list. About the training centres, I did find a list of all the training centres and the countries bases, but the hotel and training centres names here are different to UEFA's list, and I can't tell the difference between some of the hotel names between them, since some of them appears to have different names in the Training centre article. One example is Estádio Municipal da Covilhã from UEFA, which is not included in the squads list. Perhaps you could help me fill in the remaining of the list? Arbero (talk) 23:37, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

Getting Wikimedians to the Olympic Games

Hi. I am part of an effort to get Wikimedians access to the 2016 Summer Olympics as accredited reporters and photographers. Part of this effort includes covering the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Two Wikimedians have credentials to attend these games as reporters through Wikimedia Australia. As English Wikipedia does not allow original reporting, this is largely through Wikinews with a project page found at Wikinews:Paralympic Games. If you are interested in helping to get Wikimedians to the next Summer Olympics,I'd encourage you to assist with Wikinews efforts, and also to work on all language 2012 Summer Paralympic Wikipedia articles before, during and after the Games to demonstrate a track record of success. Thank you. --LauraHale (talk) 04:26, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Pictogramas

Parutakupiu (talk) 17:14, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

We noticed though that when you edited 2012–13 Taça de Portugal, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Oeiras (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hey

Hi Parutakupiu. I'm a F.C. Porto fan, but i'm portuguese, so I only contribute in the portuguese wikipedia. I like your interest in my (our) club, so if you need help on finding information about anything related to the club, dont hesitate on contacting me. You can also find information on the F.C. Porto article in the portuguese wikipedia (i'm working on it to become a featured page). By the way here's my user page on the portuguese wikipedia - [4]. Regards. KM (talk) 16:44, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Hello,

I recently saw that you added black shorts to Vitoria Guimaraes's kit for the page 2013 Taça de Portugal Final. Is it possible to add the other features associated with their kit.

I have provided a image to help you add the correct features to Vitoria's kit.

User talk:Alexgreene87 29 May 2013, 14:19

Hi. I usually don't do football kits, but the black shorts were a striking point of Vitória's kit that was missing, that's why I added the color to the shorts parameter. For the other features, we should keep it simple and probably just add the grey-black horizontal stripes and circle to the shirt and the black line in the socks. For that, that specific design needs to be created because I looked for it in the kit gallery and there's nothing close to it. Parutakupiu (talk) 15:45, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Östersund 2002 Olympic bid logo.svg

Thank you for uploading File:Östersund 2002 Olympic bid logo.svg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dianna (talk) 00:52, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello,

Is it possible to create the kits of Porto and Setubal for the 2006 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira page.

Here are some links to help you create the page:

Hi

Thanks for adding the kits to the 2006 Supertaca page.

Is it possible to add the kits to the 2005 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira page. Here are some links to help you:

User talk:Alexgreene87 8 June 2013 16:44 UTC

Done. I didn't have much details on Setúbal's kit aside from the body, so I'm not sure I added all the correct changes. Parutakupiu (talk) 17:39, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Parutakupiu, if you would like to leave comments which concern you or would cast a vote in support or opposition based on your findings, I'd appreciate it a lot. This article has garnered several good (and resolved) reviews, but no votes have been cast. Thanks and regards. — Bill william comptonTalk 11:31, 8 July 2013 (UTC)
