Smile[edit]

Thanks for starting and working on the above article. Since I see you wrote most of the article, the "He elected librarian in 1970" sentence: one would seem to have an incorrect date, and two I'm not sure what it means. Could you check the sources you used and clarify/correct the sentence? Thanks. Aboutmovies (talk) 12:26, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing out the incorrect date, which I've just fixed. The source for the sentence which I referred was a history page of the OSU official website [1]. It says in the section of 1870, "Professor Joseph Emery elected librarian." This might mean that Emery became a librarian as a result of some sort of election in 1870, but I'm not quite sure whether it is correct. And also, I'm not sure if this information is notable enough. It would be nice if I could hear others' thoughts about it.--Occhanikov (talk) 14:03, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for fixing the date, I went in and expanded the sentence a bit and fixed a couple typos. Aboutmovies (talk) 00:59, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

Hi. Thanks for correcting the Kanji on Hamamatsu Castle. I don't suppose you know what the text on this [2] image says, do you? Thanks. Ha! (talk) 08:59, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This image contains three words: "53 Stations of the Tōkaidō, No30 (東海道五十三次 三十)," "Hamamatsu (濵梥 (浜松))" and "Painted by Hokusai (北斎画)." Therefore, this Ukiyo-e is probably one of 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō pictures painted by Katsushika Hokusai (葛飾北斎) and is the one for Hamamatsu-juku (浜松宿) (Station No.29). This picture seems to regard Hamamatsu as No.30, but this is probably because this Ukiyo-e series by Hokusai counts Nihonbashi (日本橋) as No.1[3], which is usually not regarded as one of the stations in that it was just a starting location of Tōkaidō. --Occhanikov (talk) 11:00, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's brilliant! Thank you for the detailed description. Ha! (talk) 22:08, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese Music Charts[edit]

Hi, I'm just writing to you to request your help and assistance in referencing the Japanese Music Charts. Through out alot of popular english songs I have viewed I have noticed that they have been noted as performing well in Japan and have also read that the Japanese music market it very big. But in saying this every song I have seen has not got a Japanese chart position in the charts box. So if you are into music and willing to try and provide information on the Japanese Music Charts it would be greatly appreciated so then wikipedia users can start adding the Japanese chart positions into the chart boxes for popular songs. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 11:27, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
