NAC Closures If you are here because you disagree with an NAC closure at AFC, please let me know below. I will honour any reasonable request without going to DRV. Administrators should take this notice as consent to revert an NAC of mine for any reason they see fit without request or explanation, though feedback on an incorrect NAC is welcome so I avoid future errors.

If I rejected your Article for Creation My decision to reject your article is final and I will very rarely consider a request to remove the rejection notice. If you disagree with a rejection, please contact the AFC Helpdesk for a third opinion. If you disagree with a decline, simply resubmit and another editor can assess the submission.

Did I incorrectly revert your edit? As a counter-vandalism patroller, I occasionally revert minor edits that on the surface, appear problematic but were made in good faith. If you believe this to be the case, you have as much right to restore the edit without asking me to do so.

DYK for Fair Work Ombudsman v Quest South Perth[edit]

On 29 January 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Fair Work Ombudsman v Quest South Perth, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that an Australian High Court case found a hotel chain to have used third-party contractors to avoid paying employees their required benefits? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Fair Work Ombudsman v Quest South Perth. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Fair Work Ombudsman v Quest South Perth), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

    Your Clean (2022) nomination[edit]

Hello my friend, just want you to know that I have been looking over your GA nomination for the film Clean (2022). While I am not reviewing it, I do have quite a bit of concern about its structure, which is slightly jumbled and in need of more work. If you like I can assist and give you some pointers to help it pass this second time. Paleface Jack (talk) 23:34, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Paleface Jack nice to chat with you. Help would be so sincerely appreciated. I tried to use the Devil Wears Prada structure. After I pressed the nominate button I regretted it and have been considering withdrawing it because I have a feeling it’s just not quite at a passable level yet. This is the first film article I’ve written whereas my other GAs are mostly law related articles. I’m happy for you to pass on any feedback and/or review it with me. Thanks! — MaxnaCarta  ( 💬 • 📝 ) 23:39, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, it's not there yet. I primarily work on film articles but have branched out only recently. I would familiarize yourself with the manual of style for film if you can Paleface Jack (talk) 23:47, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Paleface Jack thanks for the frank honesty! Would you be prepared to act as the reviewer and leave me what you think is required to get this up to the GA film criteria? I plan on doing more films in the future so I would appreciate this as a lesson as I go along. Cheers — MaxnaCarta  ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:29, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
GA reviews are never my strong suites, and I am nor well versed on the subject you are editing, sorry mate. I can mentor you on some things when I have free time. I am currently taking on some massive subjects such as The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and expanding that to a potential Featured status. I usually do massive edits like that in separate userspaces so as not to get everything all mixed up. Horror is usually my preferred film to edit though I have branched out lately. The Samantha murphy case[edit]

I have been watching closely this whole case unfold and while doing so I have noticed that there is one particular community member that seems to have a vendetta against a group I’ve seen online that has been assisting with the searches. I don’t know these people however I have read articles on the work that ‘ground crew’ has been doing. I’ve noticed over the past few weeks that in the response section for searches that it’s been heavily noted that the group searching was the find Samantha group however this is false. That was a discussion and speculation group and the owner of that never conducted searches this particular community member has also been causing trouble online from what I’ve read and I do not believe she should be mentioned in such a sensitive case. Just my opinion as an onlooker. PivotTruth (talk) 00:44, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also to my knowledge the PMAV also helped with the searches. Prospectors and mining association of Victoria PivotTruth (talk) 00:50, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    Not necessary to include. Thanks — MaxnaCarta  ( 💬 • 📝 ) 00:51, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@PivotTruth What is written is accurate and substantiated by a source. I will not become involved in the scuttlebut and brawling that occured. We only include what is reported in a secondary sourcing. The arguments in Ballarat over the different groups and their names and activity are not relevant to an encylopaedia. The paragraph is highlighting community interest and response, it does not give credit to any particular person for conducting searches. Thanks. — MaxnaCarta  ( 💬 • 📝 ) 00:51, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I’m just trying to include the information to be factual of which it is not currently https://www.news.com.au/national/victoria/crime/volunteer-ground-crew-continue-to-help-victoria-police-in-search-for-samantha-murphys-body/news-story/eb825eb20563ff4a902d40a2b1d1933d?amp here is an article to show the facts. New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024[edit]

    Hello MaxnaCarta,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

    2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.
