I think you will find support for a 'generic' name and not a series of seperate brand name articles. You may need to do a little learning about Wikipedia and read some links and a general intro I'll add after this edit also.

Wikipedia is not advertising WP:ADVERT. No-one will support edits with a commercial purpose. Storm kettle sounds generic is probably how it got this name rather than another. Kelly Kettle was the original name of the article I think and then someone said it was not acceptable to them for trademark reasons. So it was changed. 2 users: Irishkettle & Sharon Cawley seemed to have some of the same ideas as you and were also . The solution in my opinion is indeed a generic name. Whether or not these kettles have different manufacturers, they look and operate in a common manner. You can also look here WP:NCON.

Someone just inserted specific info about the Kelly Kettle without logging in that I editted because it looked like it was advertising and not WP:NPOV. --Fremte 01:38, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request to rename Storm kettle article[edit]

I have taken the liberty of putting the info you put on my talk page: (talk) on the storm kettle talk page: Talk:Storm_kettle. The next step in your proposal I think would be to follow these directions: Wikipedia:Requested_moves#Requesting_potentially_controversial_moves. The reason for considering it cnotroversial is from a prior controversy re the name of the article. Step 2 is already started with my inclusion of what you put on my talk page, but you might want to summarize or add something. You will need to follow the step 3. --Fremte (talk) 15:45, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Volcano kettle[edit]

Hello. Thank you for your edits to the "hollow kettle article" (...or whatever neutral name it eventually ends up being called—if you have a suggestion/know of a neutral name, it would be welcomed). For the sub-heading on the kettles-specifically-manufactured-by the Kelly Kettle Company, I used "Volcano" so that it clearly refers to the specifc brand, and not any generic use of the name (this is to try to avoid confusion). It then offers the opportunity to note that the company name has become synonymous with the style of kettle in general. I'd like to change this back to try and avoid any ambiguity.

Thank you also for adding the sizes; it would be preferable to state the capacities in SI units (litres), as this also avoids the extra overhead of stating that it is GB units. One litre, is one litre... I suspect (under EU law) they have to be sold with stated metric capacities! —Sladen (talk) 22:12, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
