June 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Up Out My Face, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. The reverted edit can be found here. Thank you. Airplaneman 20:10, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Angels Cry (song). Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Lil-unique1 (talk) 20:11, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Songwriting Credits[edit]

Songwriting credits in the infobox are given to match the BMI/ASCAP credits, which are to actual names, not stage names. "California Gurls" is credited to "Calvin Broadus", not "Snoop Dogg".—Kww(talk) 05:25, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Overlinking[edit]

It is not neccessary to repeatedly link to artists within their song articles, a single link within the lead and the infobox will suffice. Please refrain from making any further edits of this nature. CloversMallRat (talk) 05:08, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was just about to tell you about the same thing, please read WP:OVERLINK Candyo32 (talk) 02:52, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stop! Enough is enough. You are violating WP:OVERLINK. I have reverted your edits on Tik Tok, Blah Blah Blah and Your Love Is My Drug. You have been given sufficient warnings, if you continue to violate WP:OVERLINK you may be blocked from editing without further notice. ..:CK:.. (talk2me) 03:15, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

June 2010[edit]

This is the only warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. -FASTILY (TALK) 06:31, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for not replying to issues on your talk page despite repeated attempts to get your attention. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Jayron32 04:12, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You may be unblocked if you acknowledge the problem here, which is that you are incorrectly applying Wikilinks to articles (see WP:OVERLINK). The major problem is that you are ignoring multiple requests above to discuss your edits, you need to stop and indicate that you have received these requests, and intend to read Wikipedia guidelines and abide by them. --Jayron32 04:12, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is your veteran editor JordanPegram requesting an editing unblock for multiple reasons. Over the last three years I've noticed a lot of inconsistency with pages such as "Umbrella" (Rihanna song) which in May 2007 had writer(s): Shawn Carter (Jay-Z), Kuk Hurrell, Christopher Stewart, Terius Nash & Robyn Rihanna Fenty. WRONG, recently Diahann Carroll being nominated for a 1969 Daytime Emmy Award (ceremony began in 1974) and the miscategorization of Carrie Underwood as singer-songwriter rather than singer, songwriter and actress when the majority of her material was penned by songwriter. Also Paula Deen's award wins was presumed with two Daytime Emmy in 2007 for Lifestyle Program and Host when she only won Lifestyle Host given she doesn't produce the award winning program. I truly without any ill intent believe that I have the ability to make constructive edit that are legible and accurate. For over four years it's been in public news that middle schools, high schools and college/universities do not allow wikipedia as a source when doing a term paper.etc.. I'm looking to change that and yes when it says writer or producer on music singles or musician profiles I edit them because not doing so give a viewer an impression that the artist/performer doesn't have a wikipedia page of their own and that if they view them and want to click on a link to view not only the song but artist they can click on that link. Thanks hope this can be resolved quickly and I hereby acknowledge all edits made by myself.

This Is An Attempt To Keep Wikipedia FREE of inaccuracies--- Let's work together and make it a million times better

Nicole Walker[edit]

Please do not introduce unsourced material to articles as you did to Nicole Walker. So what that Nicole was married to Trent? Your edits are unsourced, and there was NEVER any mention that she went by "Robbins". Please read WP:CITE and WP:V on how we properly cite and use sources here. Rm994 (talk) 23:08, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay that's fair enough but let me say this I have sources as a veteran editor and 20-plus year soap viewer. My musical & entertainment expertise are extremely reliable given that a lot of my earlier edits were unchallenged and met wikipedia guidelines.

Unchallenged does not mean meeting guidelines. And I am a 25 year plus-soap viewer, and I'm not reliable. Knowledge as a fan does not meet wikipedia standards. Sources must be in print, and pass verifiability guidelines. Just because no one reverted edits does not mean that they're actually correct. Wikipedia is not about truth, it's about verifiability. I of course, agree Nicole was married to Trent, but I can't source that with a reliable source. There are hundreds of soap facts that I would LOVE to add to this site, but I can't source them. I hope this clears up why I reverted the edit. It's not because I disagree with you, I don't...it was just unsourced per guidelines. Have a nice weekend. Rm994 (talk) 01:06, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have a nice weekend as well and please believe me when I tell you that I care about the accuracy and reliability of wikipedia and has never intentional edited pages that weren't correct, on a brighter note let's work together & make constructive edits

Oh I absolutely believe you had good intentions...and like I said, there are so many additions I wish that I could make as well. Hopefully we can find some good sources and make this site accurate! :) Rm994 (talk) 01:45, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I have two reliable sources but I'm afraid everytime I attempt to edit it the page is reverted back to the original inaccurate categorization

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. Nowyouseeme | wanna chat? 14:38, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Carrie Underwood[edit]

  • Going off of Carrie Underwood's most recent studio album (Play On) alone, Underwood co-wrote the albums first 3 singles (Cowboy Casanova, Temporary Home, and Undo It), as well as 4 additional songs on the album, which adds up to 7 songs, meaning she co-wrote over 50% of the album. This is more than enough for her to be given the title of singer-songwriter. Nowyouseeme | [[User talk:Nowyouseeme|wanna ch

Don't know how you got involved but a singer-songwriter is someone that writes over 50 percent of the material of all music just because she wrote 7 of 13 songs doesn't make her a singer-songwriter because if that's the case Rihanna's page should be change because on Rated R she wrote 9 of the 13 tracks so she should be given that title. Not trying to make anyone upset just emphazing how some artists that actually write material on all of their albums (or majority) are given the "American recording artist" title and other that occasionally write are given the "American singer-songwriter" title, Only trying to make things fair.

The difference is negligible, your looking way too deep into something trivial and simple. It's fine the way it is. Also, please try not to cut into someone's signature like this again, and sign your posts. Nowyouseeme | wanna chat? 00:58, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean cut into's someone's signature, not even familiar with it because my edits have been done through my smartphone, and if you want me to sign my post explain it 2 me & why should I it's my user talk or so I thought...

P.S. Exactly what post did I not sign because if you're gonna call out something try with a little less crass as I've tried to be earlier I was 2 to rm and them u pop calling me on stuff that may be trivial but accurate and unbias. Let's clear this up and continue to make wikipedia larger than life

I gave you a notice above that explains how to sign your posts, as far as which posts you didn't sign, every one of them; you don't add your signature to anything you type. If you look above you can clearly see what I mean by cutting into my signature, you deleted half of it and started typing your edit, hence why all words have become red. I'm afraid I really can't understand what your saying in your P.S., it isn't clear. There is nothing here to clear up, everything is fine. Have a nice day. Nowyouseeme | wanna chat? 04:02, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying to do the signature so excuse me if one isn't on here yet

File copyright problem with File:Noahmayer.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Noahmayer.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Riley Smith.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Riley Smith.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 22:51, 21 August 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 22:51, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

I noticed your recent edit to Daytime Emmy Award does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Daytime Emmy Award, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mary O'Leary (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
