Talkback

Hello, CharlieDelta. You have new messages at Kudpung's talk page.

Thanks for the message about it getting bigger. I know you are very busy on your uBLP cleanup stuff, and I certainly do not want to distract you from it, so I don't know if you are still following the Flopsy Bunny scandal. Anyway, just to update you in case you missed it, the McDonald bio has now been deleted because it was indeed a copy of the author blurb in the book, User:Susanne2009NYC (4,850 edits) was a sock puppet of User:ItsLassieTime (6,800 edits). There may well also be others so with your expertise in children's literature, don't hesitate to signal any similar work by other users who may be more of Susanne's socks. Also, if you happen to see any dubious stuff or stubs on professional singers, opera singers, instrumentalists, conductors, orchestras, etc, particularly but not only usiing Operissimo (non RS) as the only or major source - and some of the other refs are red herrings - we are currently trying to clean up nearly 2,000 BLP stubs created this year by a bunch of socks by one puppeteer. If you do, please drop a tb on my talk.--Kudpung (talk) 05:59, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I did spot that. An interesting lesson and will certainly keep an eye open for more. Also for the Operissimo clue. I'll tell the others as well.--Plad2 (talk) 06:17, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Polyglotism was my downfall - it led to a career!

Thank you - much appreciated! --Kudpung (talk) 08:14, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

Copyright problem: Leoš Svárovský

Hi there. I appreciate that this page may well contain a copyright problem, but the page history shows that I didn't contribute any of the violating material: the page when I last edited it contained only a single sentence with basic biographical details. Could you be a bit more careful with this kind of accusation? Cheers. Grover cleveland (talk) 06:59, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Absolutely correct and I have apologised on your talk page.--Plad2 (talk) 08:30, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Tis the season

I really respect the work you've been doing on our uBLPs ϢereSpielChequers 13:11, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

Same time, Same ref!

Plad, looks like great minds think a like, we were both editing Roman Georgievich Grebennikov at the same time with the same source.. haha TiMike (talk) 19:24, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

I did think the G's were going down rather quickly! Sorry if we clashed. What are you working now?--Plad2 (talk) 19:26, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
I am just picking off random ones that are not being considered for deletion. I did start at "a"... but I will start at Z and go the other way. Thanks! TiMike (talk) 19:32, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi Plad2. Thanks for your sourcing efforts & alerting us. More at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Go#Mingjiu_Jiang_Can_you_help.3F. Cheers, Trafford09 (talk) 23:03, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

Wow - I've only just looked at your contributions just from today,
and seen how many Go players you've sourced. Hats off to you! Trafford09 (talk) 23:29, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. Not difficult given your clear guidelines. The BLP Rescue Project would have an easier job if every project was as helpful as yours about what counts as a reliable source.--Plad2 (talk) 23:32, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

Plad2,

I have removed the prod tag you placed on the article for Yumiko Kosaka. I removed that because she sang theme songs for two TV series, which I think is enough for a standalone article (WP:MUSICBIO criteria #10 says a merge might be appropriate if that is the only claim to notability, but that is based on WP:BLP1E and WP:BIO1E, which aren't applicable when someone has sung songs for more than one work). However, the article could still use better sources, as I only sourced one of the theme songs she sang. Calathan (talk) 20:53, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

That's fine by me. Thank you for providing the source - and for taking the trouble to explain.--Plad2 (talk) 08:17, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

WikiProject Novels Collaboration for February

Thank you everyone who participated in the January Collaboration, it was quite a success with 5 new C class articles, 3 stub kills and several articles were removed from our backlogs. In support of the Great Backlog Drive, the WikiProject Novels Collaboration for February is going to help remove backlog candidates in the backlogs related to WikiProject Novels. Please join us, and help us wikify, reference, clean up plot sections and generally improve Novels content, Sadads (talk) 21:43, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:Cup of the World cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Cup of the World cover.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 11:30, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Reviewer

Hi, nice work you've been doing on the uBLP backlog. I've made your account a wp:Reviewer in case you come across any of the articles in the pending changes trial. I noticed you also revert some vandalism, so if you'd like Rollback just read wp:Rollback and tell me when you would and wouldn't use it. ϢereSpielChequers 11:32, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for this. Truthfully, I don't think I do enough vandal reverting to need Rollback right now. I use Twinkle very occasionally but generally, I find that "undo" or "restore this version" is enough for my purposes. If I find that I'm running across a lot of vandalism and would find it useful, I will come knocking on your door.--CharlieDelta (talk) 20:57, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
OK no rush, I found that as my watchlist grew it was a timesaver. ϢereSpielChequers 22:29, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Disgruntled Thanks

Even though my article is now being considered for speedy deletion, thank you for the cordial manner in which you have done so, unlike one or two others involved in the same manner. I would also like to thank you for keeping Wikipedia accurate and relevant, as it should be. Oberlinjoe (talk) 17:16, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
