Chronology[edit]

Technically - according to Template:Infobox album#Chronology the chronology should go according to year of release but I find this difficult and confusing with many jazz artists who have unreleased sessions left in the can that may not see the light of day until many decades later and where the rerelease may add (or subtract) material. I feel that i'm justified in ordering these albums by date of recording where they are limited to one or two sessions as this is the literal interpretation of a "chronology".

See the Lee Morgan or Lou Donaldson chronologies for an example of this in action. DISEman (talk) 02:59, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the answer, I will back to my first choice, order by year of release, but with some exceptions when the sessions are released many years later (for example some albums by Fred Anderson). By the way, thanks for the help with David S. Ware discography. I appreciate any suggestions or advice about my contribution.--Cayelr (talk) 08:12, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Self-published source[edit]

The consensus was reached on January 2014 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Albums#Piero_Scaruffi_-_Final_Verdict_on_using_him_as_a_source_in_reviews : Scaruffi's reviews are wp:self-published sources and don't respond to our wiki guidelines. They are not wp:reliable. Consequently, all his reviews are going to be removed in the next weeks by several contributors. If someone didn't apply this decision and put back Scaruffi's reviews on articles, an administrator would be contacted promptly. Woovee (talk) 19:13, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article The Engines[edit]

Just a new page patrolling note: I assume that you already know about notability as you have created numerous articles in the past, but can you find or add any more sources to prove that the subject is notable or otherwise indicative of notability, as I personally can't find any. Autopatrolled userright?[edit]

Hey, I notice that you create a large number of good new articles. Have you considered requesting the autopatrolled userright? This permission would cause all your new articles to be automatically be marked as "patrolled" on the new pages feed, saving new page patrollers some work. If you are interested, you can request the userright at WP:RFP/A. Cheers, IagoQnsi (talk) 17:36, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled granted[edit]

Hi Cayelr, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Schwede66 01:59, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Musicians from Crystal Lake, Illinois requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. "Except as indicated" italics[edit]

Hi. No need to italicize "All compositions by". Also it is supposed to be "except where noted", not "except as indicated", per WP:MOSALBUM, the album style guidelines. Thanks.
