Barkjon,

I have a recovered my son from Autism. So that alone is a controversial statement. I would like to get information about Autism to be more up to date on Wikipedia and especially some treatments that are listed as options updated. The articles are very out of date especially as a client having experiences them. So I have a lot of POV and personal experience but have meet with very little success converting this information to fact and into articles.

So I need coaching on how to get fact and remove some of the fiction from Wiki around Autism and Autism treatment.

Would you consider helping me? Ezrah 001 (talk) 21:28, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but you can't add the Club Penguin image to your userpage because it is copyrighted. What other images would you like to use? I will try to do it for you. JetLover (talk) (Report a mistake) 00:16, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Need some help with my Wiki[edit]

Hello,

I'm totally lost! I have to find out how to create a wiki in a way that only certain users can access and/or edit an article. I have been trying to figure this out for over 3 weeks. I really would appreciate your help. Can you help me please?

Thank you.

Adopter[edit]

An adoptee can have more than 1 adopter you know. Even though, the adoption was unofficial.--RyRy5 Got something to say? 01:48, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Let's let Taj decide how many adopters he wants. I'm not trying to cause a big discussion by the way.--RyRy5 Got something to say? 01:54, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So, do you instead want both of us to teach him/her?--RyRy5 Got something to say? 01:57, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
/me is really really thinking that some folks don't "get it" on the adoption thing, so I'm going to spell it out clearly. Stop. Now. The community would far rather that you work on articles. There are grave concerns about people adopting who clearly aren't experienced enough. We love your enthusiasm, but want it to be directed at articles. For the love of God, we just went through a 5 day discussion about deleting adoption pages. - Philippe 01:57, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm well aware of the conversation, I read it. He didn't "try to abandon you", he wanted someone else. It's not an affront to you, but he requested someone else. Let him go. You have about 200 edits in mainspace. I'm asking you to let someone else adopt him. Please respect what this community has gone through with respect to the discussion we just had. No, it wasn't directly about you, but it was about wanting experienced people to adopt. You adoptee has said he wants someone else. Respect that. - Philippe 02:03, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Need some help with my Wiki[edit]

Hello,

It is a MediaWiki. By the way, I love your motto!!!!!!

Thank you. Rantrom (talk) 02:09, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whoa[edit]

I just read your comment at your adoptees page. You said: "A good way to undo vandalism (and get more edits fast) is: Go to the recent changes and look for an IP address (a username all made from numbers-that person has not made an official account). Click on that page. Click on history. There should be an IP address (the one you saw in the recent changes). Click "compare selected versions". And when it shows up, there should be vandalism in the screen. Click undo and change what the vandalism is to what it used to be."

It is absolutely unacceptable to insinuate that there "should be vandalism" on an IPs contributions.

It is further unacceptable to scold someone for "mutanizing" against you.

My next step will be to file a WP:RFC if this continues. I strongly encourage you to consider whether you're ready to adopt: based on that advice, I'm afraid you're not. I don't intend to be harsh, but we can not have you giving bad advice to adoptees. For the record, in the last study done, IPs were a significant source of exceptional edits to the Wikipedia. - Philippe 02:18, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto. Nothing444 13:26, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Double Ditto. IP many IP adresses are good contributers. Please respect that.--RyRy5 Got something to say? 02:21, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Triple ditto. Lol.-- Barkjo 02:23, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Response[edit]

I would be honored to be your adoptee. I need to know how to create a page that only certain people can access or edit. Really, I need help on understanding the basics of this whole Wiki thing... Again I really appreciate it.

Thank you for your patience ahead of time. Rantrom (talk) 02:35, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Barkjon, thank you for inviting my to be your adoptee. Whats the next step for my and how does it work practically? My main problem is my bad english. By your help I would be able to improve some technical related wiki topics possibly.--Oelwiki (talk) 10:23, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Response[edit]

You didn't make me mad. You did frustrate me, but that doesn't make me mad. :-) I admire your interest in adopting, but I think it's misplaced and has the potential to backfire on you. The best way to find vandalism is to watch the recent changes list and look for vandalism there. I think it's a mistake to imply that IPs are anything less than valuable to the project. After all - I started as an IP. Most of us did. - Philippe 02:10, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My preference would be that you not teach them to use tools, but teach them to watch recent changes and revert manually, at first. Then, eventually, you can teach them to use the anti-vandal tools. It's important to walk before you run, I think. - Philippe 02:18, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If you haven't already, it might make sense to go back to your adoption records from when you were adopted and start by sort of recreating those lessons. Just an idea for you. I'll be out of town tomorrow and Tuesday, by the way, but will be happy to give you feedback when I'm back in town. - Philippe 02:22, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The answer is actually no. Bureaucrats cannot, on Wikipedia or Wikia, demote sysops or other bureaucrats. Only staff (on Wikia) or stewards (on Wikimedia projects) can demote users, and only with a good reason to and community consensus, with some exceptions (for example, an admin requests to be desysoped before retirement). --FastLizard4 (TalkIndexSign) 18:24, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on This Diminishing West, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because This Diminishing West seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting This Diminishing West, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. He repeatedly used Wikipedia as a social networking site, attempted to perform tasks which were far beyond his experience, added copyright violations and refused to respond to numerous offers of help and assistance, violating namespace restrictions dozens of times and ignoring several previous blocks covering these concerns. Hi, I see that you're welcoming new users massively. In the past, we agreed that it was not necessary, not even helpful, otherwise, we would have a bot for this. In fact, it's better to welcome a newcomer when the user has already edited. As a bonus, you can give basic advises when appropriate (for example, if the user has problems with images or templates). You can use this special page to watch new users' contribs. We also prefer not to welcome vandals, or use the appropriate messages. Something very important too, these messages must be substed. You give a lot of work to ShepBot. Cenarium (talk) 17:43, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Barkjonblankedplayercard.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Barkjonblankedplayercard.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 10:13, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not editing on Mon-Tue and only sending out the NW on Wed. I need anyone who is free to edit- to complete the month box and anything else. Even the F1POM with Sage. I need everyone to edit and add and review because I'm not here. It will need to be done otherwise it isn't going out. You might be dropped from editor of the NW if u don't edit.
