This is a page of songs that were either recorded or written by singer Kylie Minogue, but were never released.

The songs are studio-recorded by Minogue, or official remixes, and not commercially marketed or released.

Pre-fame[edit]

In 1986, Minogue recorded a number of self-funded demos that have never been released. These songs were not originals. The songs were:

In 1986, Kylie recorded two duets with her sister Dannii Minogue. Both tracks were recorded in a studio and lip synched during a performance on the Australian television program Young Talent Time. The studio versions which remain unreleased are:

1987–1992: The PWL years[edit]

  • The Locomotion (Original Version) This was the first professional recording Kylie made. The vocals from the recording were later used on the Australian "Locomotion" single in 1987. The original, which remains unreleased, is reportedly a much "rockier" and more acoustic version, with a band playing the music. The track, produced by Kaj Dahlstrom, was rejected by her record label as too old fashioned.[5]
  • Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi (Original Version) This song was originally made as a more radio-friendly track in April 1988, when PWL was considering it for a single release. For unknown reasons the track was never released. The original version has a cleaner intro, and is said to be a bit faster with a stronger beat and "eighties chords". Part of the refrain between verse and chorus is also supposed to be sung slightly differently. On this version there are very few backing vocals.
  • Can't Forget You (Vocal Demo) Mike Stock claims to have an old DAT recording of Kylie singing Can't Forget You which was later recorded by Sonia. He apparently asked Kylie to sing it to see if it suited her voice before it was given to Sonia. However, later Mike stated that he didn't have this DAT and it remains unsure as to whether or not this exists. It could, however, be true.
  • What Do I Have to Do (Original Version) This version was first played by Pete Waterman on his radio show, when he said that it would be the follow-up single to "Better the Devil You Know". This version is very different from any released versions. It is very synth-orientated, and has a slightly different bass-line, a completely different drum track, and multilayered vocals. Leaked to the internet.
  • One Love at a Time Written by Minogue, Mike Stock, and Pete Waterman. The song seems to be an early version of "If You Were with Me Now", before Keith Washington contributed to it. Kylie's vocal track was sent to New York and Keith recorded his part separately.

1993–1994: Kylie Minogue album[edit]

After signing with DeConstruction Records, Minogue began work on her new album. She first worked with the Rapino Brothers in June 1993. As a group they wrote and recorded enough material for an album, but the material was said to be heading in the wrong direction, and most of it was shelved and never released.

During this period Minogue also recorded other tracks for her album with various writers and producers; many were never released.

  • Automatic Love Written by Minogue, Charlie Mallozzi, Marco Sabiu, and Inga Humpe. This version has not been officially released. The song was re-recorded with Brothers in Rhythm and appeared on her album Kylie Minogue. The original version of the song can be heard over the closing credits of the Pratibha Parmar directed short film Wavelengths which was released in 1997. An instrumental of the original version was made but has never been released. A 47-second clip of the original version was leaked in 1997. The original version leaked in its entirety in 2007 via PSP programs.
  • Nothing Can Stop Us (Original Version) Remains unreleased. It was originally planned as the first single but was replaced with Confide in Me, and was remixed for b-side inclusion.
  • Living for Your Loving (and I'm Feeling Fine), Aston Martin, For All I'm Worth, Love is on the Line, and Our Lovin' (The Light That I Was Looking For) All five songs were written by Minogue, Mallozzi, and Sabiu. Our Lovin' was given to Czech singer Dara Rollins to record. The same was done with Love is on the Line which was given to Polish singer Edyta Gorniak, though the song has never appeared on any of her albums. A 17-second clip of Kylie's Version of Our Lovin' was leaked in 1994. For All I'm Worth was leaked in mono-format MP3 in 2003 via music file-share programmes. In July 2007 a 13-second clip of Kylie's version of Love is on the Line was leaked via P2P programs.
  • No Turning Back Written by Kylie Minogue/Anders Bagge/Gerry Deveux. Comfirmed by BMG to be recorded. It was going to be included in Hits+ but it didn't make it to the last cut.
  • When Are You Coming Home? Written by Ian Stanley and Pete Wiggs. This was one of the songs that Minogue recorded with Saint Etienne in 1993—1994 (the other being "Nothing Can Stop Us"). It was considered 'too pure pop' for the album by her record label and was not released. Confirmed by BMG to be recorded. It was going to be included in Hits+ but it didn't make it to the last cut.
  • If I Was Your Lover (original version) Written by Jimmy Harry. A different version of the song later appeared on the album Kylie Minogue. The original version was included on an early Deconstruction various artists promo CD compilation.
  • The World Needs Love & Intuition Both written by Jimmy Harry, and remain unreleased.
  • Baby Doll Written by Prince and Minogue. This is the only confirmed song written by Minogue with Prince. Kylie wrote the lyrics and handed them to Prince. Prince recorded a backing track and later laid down some vocals but eventually scrapped it. Kylie never recorded vocals for this song.

1996-1997: Impossible Princess album[edit]

  • Fallen Angel, Something That We Started, and Floating Written by Minogue and Steve Anderson and only recorded in demo form.
  • Something That We Started Written by Minogue, Anderson, and Seaman. The song might be the same song as Something Sacred, an unconfirmed song from the Impossible Princess sessions.
  • (All Right) Now, You're the One, Prisoner of Time, Stay With You, and Looking Down on Me Written by Minogue, Anderson and Seaman.
  • You're the One exists in 2 demo versions, one in late 1996 and one in 1997. The latter of the two appeared on the internet as a poor-quality MP3 in the late 1990s.

(A bootleg mix called Right Now includes sampled vocals from Kylie's 1991 track Let's Get To It but this is not the same track as the unreleased Impossible Princess demo entitled (All Right) Now.)

  • Free Written by Minogue and Steve Anderson in 1992-1993. She performed the track on her Intimate and Live tour in 1998. It has never been properly recorded apart from a very rough demo version. The live version, however, is rumoured to have been remixed.
  • Love is in Your Life, Looking Down on Me, and I'm Ready Written by Minogue and Steve Anderson.
  • Soon Written by Minogue and Nick Cave. Cave wrote the music around lyrics that were given to him by Minogue. The track was recorded and produced by Rob Dougan, but never used.
  • Let It Go Written by Minogue and Steve Anderson. It was the first track she recorded as a demo for the album with Brothers in Rhythm.
  • Hush Hush Written by Kylie Minogue & Steve Anderson
  • Drunk (original version) Written by Minogue, Anderson, and Seaman.
  • Be Till I'm Over Written by Minogue, Dave Ball, and Ingo Vauk.
  • Sweetest Summer Recorded with Olive and was reworked into the version of "Limbo" which appeared on the album.
  • Miles Written by Minogue & Anderson in 1996.
  • Into Myself Recorded with Olive and containing a verse and elements that would later appear in "Some Kind of Bliss".
  • Stay With You & You're The One Remain unreleased.
  • Sometime Samurai (Original Demo) During the summer of 1996 Kylie wrote the original demo of Sometime Samurai with Japanese DJ/artist Towa Tei. It was later re-worked in 2004 and included on Towa's Tei Japanese Album Flash and released as a single in his native Japan.

1998: Mardi Gras[edit]

1999: Fox Studios Australia: The Grand Opening[edit]

  • Diamonds (Are A Girls Best Friend) Kylie recorded a cover version of this classic Marilyn Monroe track in 1999 especially to perform to at the Fox Studios Australia: Grand Opening on November 7th 1999 in Sydney, Australia. The track was recorded in a studio and mimed to for the performance where Kylie re-created the classic Marilyn routine from the Gentlemen Prefer Blondes film. Due to the lack of audience noise high quality rips from the televised broadcast appear as CD quality studio rips. The actual studio version has never been released officially.

1999–2000: Light Years sessions[edit]

  • Are You the One?
  • Now That I've Found You
  • Same Place, Same Time
  • "Can You Forgive Me?"
  • "Love Song"
  • "Sleep on It"
  • "Back to Life"

All written by Minogue, Steve Anderson, and Carl Mann.

NOTE: "Are You The One" shouldn't be confused with You're The One from the 1996-97 Impossible Princess Project.

  • I Can't Just Be a Friend

and

  • Pinkadelica Written by Minogue, Chris Anderson and Stephen Lee.
  • Sunday Morning Cadillac Written by Kylie Minogue

  • Always And Forever Written by David Arch and Toddy. This song was the theme to UK ITV soap-opera Night & Day.
What appears to be a full official version of Always And Forever (4.35) appears to be in circulation.

2000–2001: Fever[edit]

  • Alone Again Written by Madonna and Rick Nowells and given to Kylie's A & R team in 2002. It was rumoured to have been considered as a double A-side or B-side to "Come Into My World". The song was later featured on the White Diamond soundtrack. See Unreleased Madonna songs.
  • Heavenly and No Better Love Written by Minogue, Pascal Gabriel, and Paul Stratham. No Better was later leaked onto the internet in late 2002.
  • So High Written by Kylie Minogue, Pascal Gabriel & Paul Statham. Leaked online on June 7th 2006.
  • An early version of Tightrope includes lyrics from the unreleased track So High.

  • When I Lost Me A song from the Fever sessions that was later given to Sarah Whatmore, who recorded and released it.

2002–2003: Body Language sessions[edit]

  • Before Body Language was released in 2003, a fake track-listing was released on the internet. Called City Games, this list included two songs: "You Make Me Feel", which was included on the Japanese and North American releases of the album, and "City Games", which was a B-side of the song "Chocolate". Since Parlophone originally denied the existence of a track called "City Games", it now seems that the other songs from the track-listing might exist somewhere in the vaults. The tracklist was as follows:
  1. Slow - included on "Body Language" and served as first single
  2. City Games - later included on "Chocolate"
  3. You Make Me Feel - included on North American release of "Body Language"
  4. E-Z St
  5. In The Dark - may well have been a working name for the track "After Dark", included on "Body Language" (although the writers that were credited for this song, and the ones who wrote "After Dark, have only one writer in common)
  6. How Can You Say No?
  7. Second Thoughts
  8. Heavy Handed
  9. Fly
  10. Attention Seeker
  11. Beat U
  12. So High -Leaked online in 2006
  • Colour My Life, Attention Seeker, and Do It Written by Minogue, Richard Stannard, Julian Gallagher, and Dave Morgan. All three songs have been confirmed by Parlophone in 2003. So High Exists as well and was leaked on the internet in 2006. A song by the title,Body Language, is also confirmed to have been written, but it is unknown whether or not Minogue recorded it.

Songs were written for the album by Minogue, Stannard, and Gallagher without Morgan. These were Make My Day, Up and Coming, Love Is and Takin' My Time

  • Give Me a Reason and I'm Fascinated Written by Minogue, Stannard, and Gallagher during the Body Language sessions, and were later considered to be released on her second greatest hits package, Ultimate Kylie, in 2004.
  • Fall For You Recorded originally in 2003 and then re-recorded in 2006 for the comeback album but both versions abandoned. The 2006 version leaked online in May 2007.
  • I'll Be Your Oh-Oh Written and produced by Pascal Gabriel and Paul Statham. Kylie only recorded an acoustic version of this song. It was abandoned and not even presented to Parlophone as Paul and Pascal didn't get it to sound they wanted.
  • I'm Sorry and Trippin' Me Up Written by Minogue, Pascal Gabriel and Paul Statham. - Trippin' Me Up can be heard at UltimateKylie@Myspace. The song is 3:43 in length. - both I'm Sorry and Trippin' Me Up were both leaked online on June 6th 2006.
  • Trippin' Me Up - Various different alternative versions of this demo exist including an acoustic version, a full length master mix and a few vocal test mixes.
  • Trippin' Me Up (Acoustic Version) (4:22) Unreleased guitar-based demo version.
  • Trippin' Me Up (Acoustic Mix-Down Version) (5:04) Unreleased acoustic showcase from demo CD. This version leaked onto the internet on December 19th, 2006.
  • Trippin' Me Up (1st Demo Version) (3:46) Different production to the first leaked version
  • Trippin' Me Up (Break Beat Test Mix #1) (4:18) Unique break beat test mix
  • Trippin' Me Up (Break Beat Test Mix #2) (2:10) Unique break beat test mix
  • Trippin' Me Up (Full Length Studio Master)
  • Fall For You (Versions 1 & 2) Written by Minogue, Richard Stannard, Julian Gallagher, and Dave Morgan. - Clip leaked online in May 2007
  • You Can't Touch Me' and Headcase are rumored tracks that have supposedly been recorded, but production details are unknown.
  • Kisses Recorded during the Johnny Douglas sessions, but did not make the album. "Secret Garden," later recorded by Rachel Stevens for her album "Come and Get It" was also demoed.
  • On The Up Recorded/written with Johnny Douglas. Clip leaked online via YouTube on June 28th, 2006. Full song leaked on November 12th, 2006.
  • Chocolate (feat. Ludacris) An early version of Chocolate included a rap by Ludacris but wasn't used on the final mix. (A part of Ludacris vocals can be heard at the beginning of the released version over the intro). A 1-Minute clip was leaked by late July. Kylie didn't like the rap so it wasn't released.
  • Red Blooded Woman (Demo) A very early rough demo of this includes a rap by Kylie. It was quickly omitted from the next version and never used again when Kylie said she found it 'embarrassing'.
  • You Blow Hot And Cold A disco track that was shelved and didn't make the album. It was (co?)written by Kylie. Britney Spears later expressed interest in recording the song for her forthcoming album at the time after the release of her Greatest Hits compilation, Greatest Hits: My Prerogative. Whether the track was recorded by Spears or not is unknown, but a demo by Minogue is likely to exist.

In 2005 two unreleased tracks were leaked onto the internet, both recorded for the Body Language project. They were:

  • My Image Unlimited Written by Wayne Wilkins, Mark Stent, Andrew Frampton, Dane Bowers, and Javine Hylton. Lengths about 3:43.
  • I'm Just Here for the Music Written by Danielle Brisebois and Wayne Rodriguez. Lengths about 3:34.

2004: Ultimate Kylie sessions[edit]

  • Loving You Written by Minogue and Brian Higgins and was only recorded as a demo. The track has been leaked onto the internet.

In 2004 Minogue wrote two unreleased songs with Scissor Sisters members Jake Shears and Babydaddy: Everything I Know and Ooh (the Blues). Everything I Know leaked onto the internet. The latter is said to be a Scissor Sisters track featuring Minogue, and although this version remains unheard, a Scissor Sisters only demo version leaked onto the internet and in a finished form, under the name Ooh, which has made its appearance on the band's second album Ta-Dah but without Kylie's vocals.

2004: The Jazz Sessions[edit]

Kylie recorded a small selection of jazz numbers/covers in 2004 including a cover of "I Put a Spell on You". Two of the songs from these sessions, "I'm Hip" and "You Are There" will be used in the forthcoming documentary "White Diamond".

2004: G-A-Y Made in Heaven 2004[edit]

  • Made in Heaven (2004 Steve Anderson Remix) A special new version, produced by Steve Anderson was made of this classic 80's Kylie PWL track, with new vocals and a brief sample of it was used as the intro to Kylie's special gig at the G-A-Y club in London on February 28th 2004. The studio version of this remix remains unreleased.

2007: X[edit]

  • Wow (Rumored to be the album's second single)

  • Everything I Know Written by Kylie Minogue, BabyDaddy & Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters fame was originally demoed in 2004 for the Ultimate Kylie sessions but was not used. The track however leaked online in November 2004. Kylie has now re-recorded the track and the song. Kylie has also recorded other new tracks with the Scissor Sisters.
  • Flirtatious Written by Johnny Douglas & Karen Poole, a track that was turned down by Parlophone A & R and seems unlikely to find a release. Kylie NEVER recorded any vocals for this song only Karen Poole did vocals for the demo. According to Johnny Douglas himself the song has now been completely abandoned and will no longer be used for the new album, as originally intended.
  • Stars Written by Kylie Minogue, Richard Stannard, Julian Peake & Paul Harris - Leaked online in May 2007.
  • Inside Written by Kylie Minogue
  • Singing In My Sleep Written By Jake Shears, Babbydaddy and Kylie Minogue . This song has been described like the most strange and darkest song that Kylie ever recorded.
  • Watch You Dance Written by Gordon Davis and given to Kylie though not yet recorded by her.
  • I Am Ready Written by George O'Dowd and Amanda Ghost. In 2007 a clip of the song was leaked, people begin to think that it was another song named Survivor but when the full song leaked it was discovered that both songs were really one song. (Leaked online in August 2007)
  • Tweedle Dum Written by Alexis Taylor, Owen Clarke and Kylie Minogue
  • Baby, It's Alright

  • Excuse My French (aka French Kissing) Written by Jewels & Stone and Rob Davis
  • When The Cat's Away Written by Hannah Robinson and Jewels & Stone

Excuse My French (French Kissing) & When The Cat's Away Both these demos leaked in March 2007 with some controversy surrounding them. They were labelled as being Kylie tracks. This forced Parlophone to issue the following statement on March 9th 2007 Kylie.com:

Kylie.com:

Kylie.com would like to set the record straight regarding a track attributed to Kylie entitled 'Excuse My French'.

Kylie is not singing on the track and she has never recorded a song by that name.

She is currently in the studio recording tracks for her tenth studio album hopefully to be released later this year.

However, the above statement was false, in the name of 'damage control' to prevent further downloading of the track. The demo is indeed a Kylie demo and whilst it features her vocals it also features a prominent backing vocalist whose vocals were more apparent due to the demo being unfinished and unmastered and the final vocal mix down not being complete.

Parlophone are currently investigating how the tracks leaked via their legal team whilst trying to prevent further downloads and despite denials "Excuse My French" is indeed a genuine Kylie demo.

In May 2007, with the leak of two new clips Stars and Fall For You (Version #2) news spread of a 3-Disc CD-R set, containing 49 Kylie demos (with around 7 of session singers) being in the hands of a Kylie fan name Elle, who later leaked some of the songs on to the internet.

Some of the tracks, which have titles the same as old demos and releases are curious yet they most certainly exist on this bizarre in-house CD set, which was used for research purposes by EMI Records.

At least seven of the songs are tracks pitched to Kylie and are sung by session singers but around 42 of the other demos are true Kylie demos and outtakes.

The tracks included on this curious in-house CD set are: (those with 'pitch' in brackets are the tracks not sung by Kylie)

Unreleased Mushroom & PWL remixes[edit]

  • The Loco-Motion (A cappella Mix) This version was due to appear on Minogue's Greatest Remix Hits album but was not included at Minogue's request, because the release of an all-vocal track would result in numerous unofficial mixes of the song.
  • Got to Be Certain (Oz Tour Mix) Essentially the same as the normal version but with an a cappella ending for live performances.
  • Got to Be Certain (Yo Yo's Dance Mix) A reworked 12" form 1989 by Kylie's sound engineer YoYo.
  • Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi (12" remix) This mix was only heard once on Pete Waterman's Radio City Saturday morning show in 1988. The mix has a mellower, beatless swingbeat.
  • Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi (A cappella Mix) A unique mix-breakdown using a main vocal track with music and no drum/rhythm track.
  • Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi (L'amour Remix) Alternative version of the 'Moi Non Plus Mix' with different instrumentation.
  • Made in Heaven (Original 7" Mix) Kylie performed to this version at the 1988 Royal Variety Performance. The only difference is the bridge which omitts one of the lines where Kylie sings "True love...".
  • Hand on Your Heart (Video Mix) This version of "Hand on Your Heart" was initially never released and had a slightly edited intro until PWL released it digitally with iTunes as one of two archived bundles in 2009. It includes the original, the "Great Aorta Mix", a dub version, an instrumental and backing vocal versions, as well as the song "Just Wanna Love You" in similar forms.
  • Hand on Your Heart (Girl Meets Boy Mix / Oz Tour Mix) Special mix dubbed over a live montage of Kylie live in Japan in 1989 on Kylie - The Videos 2. Includes a Mike Stock's vocal with Kylie's in a duet form. Unreleased elsewhere.
  • Smash Hits 1989 Medley (4:40) Kylie performed to this mini PWL medley at the 1989 Smash Hit Poll Winners Party. The medley includes: Wouldn't Change a Thing (Your Thang Mix), Never Too Late, Made in Heaven (Heaven Scent Mix) & Wouldn't Change a Thing (Espagna Mix).
  • Tears on My Pillow (12" remix) The only mix of the track with different production was pulled from the single release at last minute as Pete wanted to keep the standard Extended / No More Tears Mix because he felt it kept the 50's vibe whereas the remix was more dancey. Was due to be included on the Greatest Remix Hits series on volumes 3-4 but was removed at last minute.
  • Better the Devil You Know (Harding/Curnow Remix) - remains unreleased
  • What Do I Have to Do? (Original 12" Master) The original 12" mix is often referred to by fans as the Synth Mix. The mix borrows the bassline from another track, was made in preparation for the next single after Better the Devil You Know and was played on Pete Waterman's Liverpool radio show in August 1990. The mix was recorded by fans on cassette format and has circulated in low-quality format around the fan base for some years now after being re-edited by a fan. The single plan was replaced with Step Back in Time and What Do I Have to Do? was remixed again and released in January 1991 as the 3rd single from the Rhythm Of Love album.
  • Shocked (Pete Waterman's LP Master) 11-minute master mix which is based on the Album Version. Remains unreleased but it's a much talked about mix amongst fans.
  • Better the Devil You Know (PA Mix) Essentially the same as the normal version but with an a cappella ending for live performances.
  • Step Back in Time (PA Mix) Essentially the same as the normal version but with an a cappella ending for live performances.
  • Rhythm Of Love (PA Mix) Essentially the same as the normal version but with an a cappella ending for live performances.
  • Shocked (Original DNA 7" Mix - 4:40) Original single mix included both raps but was edited down to 3:10 for the single release, whereas the 12" DNA Mix still contained both raps.
  • I Guess I Like It Like That (Original 12" Mix) The original version had a different layout and builds up differently. Kylie performed to this early version in 1991 in Turkey during a live gig.
  • Hand on Your Heart (W.I.P. 2002 Radio Edits) 4 Different radio edits were made of this new remix, commissioned in PWL for the revised Greatest Hits 87-92 album. None of the edits were used at the time, but they were finally released digitally in 2009 by PWL for iTunes as an archived bundle along with instrumentals, backing tracks, plus "Heartache" and "Smokin'" remixes.

Unreleased Deconstruction remixes (to be continued...)[edit]

Pre-recorded 'live-effect' vocal versions - Used For Promotional Purposes[edit]

These versions of Kylie are basically the standard backing tracks (musically) but the vocal is re-recorded in a studio with a 'live-effect' sound and is then mimed to on TV or for promotional purposes to give a more authentic 'live' feel. Sometimes these special 'live-effect' vocal versions will have slightly different cold endings that don't fade out to make for a better 'live-effect' performance as true live vocals aren't usually faded out at the end of a performance.

This was also partly used after Kylie's performance at the Mushroom 25 Celebrations in Melbourne, Australia in November 1998. At the time of performing Kylie had severe laryngitis and even though she sang live for her medley Kylie wasn't happy with her performance (with Medley produced by Steve Anderson) and when it came to releasing it officially on the Mushroom 25 Live - Concert Of The Century video and CD set Kylie recorded a new 'live-effect' vocal which was then dubbed over the performance.

Notable 'live-effect' vocal versions are:

  • Princess Of Pulse (Electro Eyes) On December 2nd 2002 Kylie performed a special megamix of her hits from her album Fever. The special megamix included parts of an unreleased Can't Get You Out Of My Head (Soulwax Elektronic Remix), In Your Eyes (with 'Give It To Me' backing), Come Into My World and Love at First Sight (Ruff & Jam Mix). The performance was mimed and the studio version of the medley remains unreleased commercially.
  • Red Blooded Woman (used for various TV and live performances)
  • Chocolate (used for TV and live performances)
  • I Believe In You (New 'live-effect' vocal recorded in 2004 for TV performances in promotion of Ultimate Kylie)
  • Better the Devil You Know (using the original 1990 backing music but a new 'live-effect' vocal recorded in 2004 for TV performances in promotion of Ultimate Kylie)
  • Step Back in Time (using the original 1990 backing music but a new 'live-effect' vocal recorded in 2004 for TV performances in promotion of Ultimate Kylie)
  • Spinning Around (using the original 2000 backing music but a new 'live-effect' vocal recorded in 2004 for TV performances in promotion of Ultimate Kylie)

These are just some examples of the 'live-effect' performance backing tracks used. They remain unreleased commercially.

Alternative song titles[edit]

  • "Disco Down" was originally called Burn This Disco when Johnny Douglas began to write the track.
  • "Giving You Up" was originally called [Can't Start] Giving You Up.
  • "I Know" was first called Everything I Know.
  • "BPM" was originally called Beats Per Minute. The instrumental track that Minogue added vocals to is known as Sunset River.
  • "I Believe in You" was originally called I Believe.
  • "Stars" was originally called My Star.
  • "White Diamond" was originally called Diamonds when the Scissor Sisters began to wrote the track.

Rumoured songs/mixes and fakes[edit]

  • The Last Word In 1989 Korean 7" single for "Nothing to Lose" was released and withdrawn. On its B-side it included an unknown track called "The Last Word". It has since been confirmed that no such Kylie song from PWL exists with this title and it's assumed that the obscure single may have been a split-artist release and "The Last Word" may have been by another artist.
  • Don't Let It Go to Your Head Rumoured to have been recorded by Minogue in 1992–1993. Not much is known about it.
  • Your Secret Love Written by Steve Anderson and David Seaman in 1992-1993.
  • Sex On Legs rumoured to have been recorded with Prince.
  • Ache Was said to have been written by Minogue, Anderson, and Seaman. There is no proof to show that it was actually written or recorded in any way during the Impossible Princess sessions.
  • By My Side and Something That We Started Written by Minogue and Anderson in 1996–1997 during the Impossible Princess sessions.
  • Mirror Image Rumoured to have been written by Minogue's ex-boyfriend Michael Hutchence. Hutchence is said to have written Minogue a song, but it is believed by many that this one was not it.
  • Rip it Up and I'll Be There for You Were rumoured to have been recorded during the Light Years sessions.
  • Chorus is a song that was rumoured to have been written and recorded with Bono in 1995–1996. There is no proof to show that it was written, let alone recorded. It is believed to have been made up due to Minogue's thanking of Bono on the Impossible Princess liner notes.
  • We Should Have written by Kylie Minogue, Rick Nowells and Billy Steinberg.
  • Limbo (Junior Vasquez Limbostic Positions Ambient Remix) A bootleg from a white label 12" that surfaced in 2003.
  • Spinning Around (Pre-Release Version) Fan made version which was believed to be an early version of the track when first shared online.

Several remixes of the song Butterfly are believed to be fake (or unofficial) because the mixes have only appeared on a Townhouse CDR being sold on Ebay. These remixes are:

    • E-Smoove Disco Fever Mix
    • Downtown Remix
    • Sandstorm Liquid Remix
    • Sandstorm Radio Edit
    • Uptown Remix

Several remixes of the song Light Years are believed to be fake (or unofficial) because the mixes have only appeared on a Townhouse CDR being sold on Ebay. These remixes are:

  • Future Extended Club Mix
  • Future Shock Single Mix
  • Future Shock Space Remix
  • The Bini and Martini Transformation Club Edit of On A Night Like This is probably a fake because the mix has only appeared on a Townhouse CDR.
  • Can't Get You Out Of My Head (Pre-Release Version) Fan made version which was believed to be an early version of the track when first shared online.
  • How Can You Say No? Is said to have been written by Minogue, Dannii Minogue, and Kurtis Mantronik during the Body Language sessions. Minogue's sister Dannii denies co-writing it.

The following songs are rumoured to have been recorded or written during the Body Language sessions in 2002–2003. They are however unconfirmed:

  • In the Dark Written by Minogue, Emiliana Torrini, and Dan Carey.
  • Second Thoughts Written by Tommy D and Marius Devries in 2002–2003.
  • Heavy Handed Written by Minogue, Dennis, and Mantronik.
  • Fly Written by Minogue, Mantronik, Ashford, and Simpson during 2002–2003.
  • That Certain Something Written by Chris Braide.
  • Rainbow Child, Walk On The Ocean, Loving Games, Trust, Like a Stranger, Roads, Take My Name, and Utterly Mine.

Also during the Body Language sessions it was rumoured that Minogue was working with The Neptunes. Minogue has denied the existence of these tracks. The songs could have been written for other artists.

Songs incorrectly labelled as Kylie tracks[edit]

  • Listen To The Rhythm During the time when PWL were releasing club records by Kylie on white label promos under the pseudonym of Angel K another single was released in 1992 on the PWL label entitled Listen To The Rhythm. The artist credit went to K3M. For years many fans believed this track/single to feature the vocals of Kylie and that the artist name of K3M was actually in reference to the initials of her name, plus with a single catalogue number that followed on from Kylie's Give Me Just a Little More Time single all the signs were there that it was a secret Kylie track. The song did very badly in the UK charts, not even breaking the Top 60 and many believed PWL denied the track featured Kylie because of its lack of success. However, it has been confirmed that the vocal sample on Listen To The Rhythm actually comes from a track by a group called GTO entitled Listen To The Rhythm Flow.
  • A Love We'll Find Originally heard on a Brothers in Rhythm night on Radio 1, this was never confirmed as a Kylie track, despite being rumoured to be an early version of Where Has the Love Gone?. However, it has now been confirmed to actually be Talk to Me (Sasha Remix) by Hysterix.
  • High Energy Boy During the time Kylie appeared as the Green Fairy in Baz Luhrmann's film/musical Moulin Rouge there was talk about her recording a new track for the soundtrack. The song Physical (a cover version of an Olivia Newton-John classic) was original mentioned for inclusion but was not used (It later surfaced on the Light Years - Tour Edition 2-CD set). Kylie recorded The Sound Of Music for the film but it was not included on the soundtrack (although a brief part of the track was used as the intro to the Fever2002 Tour). A track called High Energy Boy appeared online and was mislabelled as a Kylie track. The track was by a Slovenian dance duo called Moulin RougeMoulin Rouge (not of any association to the film), which was recorded in the 1980s.
  • True Love Never Dies a Donna Williams track mislabelled as Kylie vs Rank 1 and circulated online via various file share programmes.
  • Like A Stranger, Again & Again & With You In late 2004 3 tracks appeared online with the above titles. They are in fact pitched-up and renamed Goldfrapp tracks, as listed below:
Like A Stranger - is actually the pitched-up and renamed Goldfrapp track Forever from their 2003 album Black Cherry
Again & Again - is actually the pitched-up and renamed Goldfrapp track Twist from their 2003 album Black Cherry
With You - is actually the pitched-up and renamed Goldfrapp track Utopia from their 2000 album Felt Mountain
