Conflicting dates for the Groundbreaking for construction of the World Trade Center: August 5, 1966, vs. August 25, 1966.

":" Hi, I am completely new to the process of editing information on Wikipedia, and not tech savvy in the least, so when I try to read the directions for the correct way to make an edit, what format and code to use, and all the other criteria, it feels very overwhelming/confusing. About a day ago I made an attempt to correct a discrepancy involving the date for the Groundbreaking for Construction of the World Trade Center, but I apparently didn't follow the right guidelines or provide enough information to explain or back my change, so you reverted my edit, saying that it "did not appear to be constructive". I'm not exactly sure what that means, if it's referring to the way I posted the links, or if it has to do with the credibility, or lack of explanation for the change, but I did try posting different links, and I didn't feel like I was doing it right. Maybe you could help me. I'd like to further explain my change. At the top of the Wikipedia page it has construction dates for the World Trade Center listed and where it says Groundbreaking, it has August 25, 1966, however, on the same page down below, under the section on Construction, it says the Groundbreaking for construction began on August 5, 1966. The August 25 date doesn't mention a source as far as I could see on the page or even in the editing section (unless it's in some form of code that I can't read). After the last of the construction dates it sites the Port Authority Website, which just says August, 1966, but doesn't mention the day. On the Wikipedia page, the August 5 date down below has a link to "The World Trade Center Building Performance Study" by FEMA. The link appears to be a rotten link, but I was able to look the book up online in Google Books and found where it gives the August 5 date for the Groundbreaking. I went to the trouble of gathering screen shots (I don't know if I can send those here or not) for all the sources that come up when I do a Google search for both dates (August 5, and August 25) for the Groundbreaking for Construction on the WTC, and from what I could gather, the August 5 date seems more credible, as the sources for that date appear more reliable. The World Trade Center's official website wtc.com, in the History-Timeline section says the date for the Groundbreaking for construction was August 5, 1966. There are also many other sources that provide that date that feel reliable, like: nyc-architecture.com, nyctourist.com, skyscraper.org, architectuul.com, nydailynews.com "9/11 remembered: The Iconic Twin Towers through the Years", pbs.org, newyorkarchitecture.info, ussartf.org, and books: "World Trade Center" by Tamar L. Britton, "The 9/11 Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition" by Edited by Stephen E. Atkins, "Failure Consequences and Reliability Acceptance Criteria for the Exceptional Building Structures: A Study Taking Basis in the Failure of the World Trade Center Twin Towers" by Michael H. Faber, Oliver Kubler Mario Fantana, Makus Knobloch, and then of course the FEMA book I first mentioned. On the other hand when I do a Google search "World Trade Center Groundbreaking for construction, August 25, 1966", the sources for that date seem less reliable. Many of the sites seem to just be copying straight from Wikipedia, and include the same conflicting dates, August 25 at the top of the page and August 5 down below, with no source for the August 25 date. One example is gutenberg.us. Others like this include a site called mondowindow.com, and a Facebook page called That 70's Page. On a website called everything.explained.today it says August 25, 1966 at the top and then in the information below where it mentions the Groundbreaking it just says it "took place on, 1966", and there is no source for the August 25 date. Another site called press.com also uses the August 25 date, but doesn't provide a source, so I don't know where that date is coming from, but when I weigh the sources for the 2 different dates, the August 5 date feels more sound, particularly with the World Trade Center Official Website, and the FEMA book listing that date. I hope my information is helpful and adequate to at least justify consideration for my change. I think I'm right, but would definitely hate to make a change if it's wrong, so if there is anything I'm missing, please let me know. I of course am willing to provide anything more like screen shots, which I have plenty of, and links (I didn't provide those because I'm not very good at all that) if you need those, I can probably figure out how to just go back and copy the links to all the sites I just mentioned and send them in another message, as long as I know how to do it right. Sorry if this message is really long and tedious. At least this should explain what I'm trying to do. Hopefully you can help me (LOL!). Thanks 70.15.123.251 (talk) 07:03, 1 February 2016 (UTC)

Urascurb

You gave, correctly, a warning to this user following his/her unarguable vandalism. You then immediately reported this vandalism to vandalism report page, which is an implicit request for block imposition. This wastes admin time, as a block is only appropriate if vandalism (excluding exceptionally offensive vandalism) occurs after an appropriate warning. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 13:20, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Anthony Bradbury and BethNaught - Uh oh! I don't think I meant to report that user. You're absolutely right; it appears that I left a final warning, then somehow went straight to reporting it to AIV. Thanks for letting me know about this; I'll keep a closer eye out as I continue patrolling. And I do apologize for the inconvenience; I didn't mean to cause any kind of frustration. Again, thanks for letting me know about this. It's a pleasure to shake hands with you both, and happy editing :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:04, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

I'm the author of the complete Gustav Knittel article which is the result of 20 years of research. Wow that was quick and I wasn't sure if I was even working the help section correctly so thank you and yes that did answer my question. Since I'm here I thought I might as well go ahead and ask another if I may? Related to the first question is whether or not there is a quick reference page available to explain the basics for people just beginning to use Wikipedia with answers to things like "what dom the colored words mean?" I won't be contributing I just want to be able to fully navigate the site for information and personal education reasons. All help provided is much appreciated for in the past I've given up on using the site because it seemed whenever I would get stuck and went looking for a "how to" link I came to pages with so much reading it was just too overwhelming to find a simple answer so I could get back on track & resume my purpose of my visit. Once again Thankx for your quick reply and the time taken to do so. Have a great evening.2601:1C2:4100:3290:D527:7D38:5E22:DC5F (talk) 00:47, 4 February 2016 (UTC)

Howdy, "Oshwah." It seems to me, you think you know history; you think you know the truth behind the infamous UFO crash in 1947- but obviously, you don't. Let me tell you what really happened.Mars is in chaos! An alien species known as the Pancakian's, Martian southern accented walking pancake aliens' civilization is quickly tumbling down at the dawn of an economic crash in Pancakian Capital City.

The Pancakian's king and queen, Mama and Papa Pancakian are expecting twins but because of Mars' collapsing economy, Mama and Papa plan to send their children to earth aboard a U.S. space shuttle they repaired after shooting it down with an atomic syrup bomb to live fulfilling lives.

The day finally came, Mama's syrup broke, she went into labor! Papa rushed Mama to the Pancakian Capital Emergency Room where after twelve long hours, she gave birth to two healthy, not so beautiful twin baby boys. Mama and Papa named the boys Dill and Zorax Pancakian, unaware of the greatness that would come of them....

As soon as Dill popped out of Mama's womb, Mama and Papa looked into each other's eyes worriedly. "Oh, what buck teeth he has." Papa said telepathically. "Oh, what wide nostrils he has." Mama said back telepathically. "Face it, honey, Dill is too ugly to ever be accepted by human society." "I know, I just don't want to face the facts." Papa left Mama at the hospital with Dill, who they decided to keep on Mars, while he took Zorax away from Mama immediately so she wouldn't become too attached to let him go. Papa took Zorax to a Pancakian skin Designer, Geex Quaxoo who had already designed authentic looking human skins for Zorax to wear to fit in with humankind. The skins would expand as Zorax grew older so they wouldn't have to be replaced. Geex fitted Zorax into the skins and he was disguised and ready to be sent to earth. Papa attempted to kiss Zorax on the forehead but couldn't bring himself to it because of how ugly humans are. "I wish you a fulfilling life, my son." Papa said and boarded Zorax onto the space shuttle. Papa clicked a few buttons on the shuttle, putting it in auto pilot. Papa watched the shuttle lift off the ground and fly into Mars' atmosphere then the deep depths of space. Zorax' journey to earth took three long, lonely and boring months. Zorax aged and grew in that three months and the skins expanded with his growth. Finally, the shuttle entered earth's atmosphere and as it approached the planet, caught flame causing it to spiral out of control towards the planets surface. The shuttle crash landed in the middle of two continents drifting apart, a continental drift. The impact of the continental drift caused Zorax to go flying out of the shuttle and land in a bush a few miles away from the crash site, his hairline forever split in two. Zorax was trapped on earth, he was alone, the only Pancakian on the planet, he was the lone Pancakian. Zorax' body was discovered by a CIA agent who arrived first to investigate the crash site with many other military troops dispatched and on the way to the scene. The CIA agent, John Ferrie Greaseball realized Zorax would never be able to escape fame and live a normal life being an alien life form and all and decided to adopt him without the governments knowledge. He made it so people thought it was an alien, and a blimp at the same time. This is the truth, so please never question my changing of your made stories ever again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TellingoftheTruth (talkcontribs) 00:03, 5 February 2016 (UTC)

About Some of the Suspicious edits

Be Bold. Some edits you flagged as suspicious (Oshwah thinks that edit on enwiki to Cub Foods by 24.148.72.178 (704458724) is likely a vandalism, but they didn't revert it, etc.) can be mostly reverted for failure to cite a reliable source/inappropriate biographical content. question about "mens rights" vandals.

I see that you reverted RainbowTubaStudios edit on the mens rights movement article. good job catching it so quickly. I'd like to ask if we should take this user, and others that have vandalised the article in similar, blatant ways to AN/I? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Insertcleverphrasehere (talkcontribs)

Hi, Insertcleverphrasehere! Thanks for leaving me a message with your question! In a nutshell, if an IP or user has been warned enough times and continues to vandalize Wikipedia, you can report them at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism (or AIV). This is the best place to report repeated vandalism by a user in order to have an administrator block them. ANI is best for behavioral or other issues that require administrator intervention. Hope this helps! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:13, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

Thanks!  InsertCleverPhraseHere InsertTalkHere  21:02, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

Pardon my intrusion. As a general rule the vandals need to be WP:Warned and have edited thereafter. Helps if is recent. Although if it is really egregious, warnings can be dispensed with. If it is an IP vandale, helps to identify them in the report as a "school" if that applies. If it is a registered user, if it is "vandalism only" this is good to mention. Typically I will use some formulatin such as "red, hot, now. Warned and persists" with other facts as indicated above. Warnings help lay down a record that merits actions. 7&6=thirteen introduces good points. As I said, The IP/user needs to have been warned enough times and continue to vandalize Wikipedia. However, like 7&6=thirteen stated, there are situations that warrant warnings unneeded. Thanks, 7&6=thirteen! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:31, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

Neutrality is Subjective

Hi thank you for responding so fast. I feel so important. No I am not brownnosing. I just wrote and wrote what was in my mind. If you read my edit, you will see that u it comes from facts and I can prove it. Not neutral. I am not soliciting or marketing nor am I wanting a percentage of anything. I believe that Wikipedia, who is composed of regular minded people such as myself, a new member must be treated with respect. Are you the reaper for wikipedia? Ask me why I wrote this? Judging is not good for your position. YOu must communicate with the editor, me and suggest ways to edit,

I need to know why we need to be neutral. You mean, not honest? In between? Not taking sides? The lady with a blindfold carrying a symbol of balance? How does she know its not tee ter tottering? How do you know my information comes from facts? ANd I was not done.

Words are definitive. Words do bleed. Words or communicated words are very powerful. I believe I would suggest to Wikipedia that you must not rudely delete words written from the heart. You ZAPPED my edit unilaterally! Who advised you? Yourself that you think that Larry Page, my edit is not based on fact, which it is. Do you think I was soliciting? I was attempting to inform the commons that Wikipedia can be artistic and factual at the same time and written with feelings. That is what we now, Words of love.

First, I need to know in bulleted horizontal columns what is your criteria for deleting my edit. You are responsible for your actions. What if I was a teenager who decided to contribute and be part of wikipedia and grow with it and learn? Then you just zapped my creation.

If I may suggest that in every important people in technology that is directly involved in our lives and the matrix that we live in. Censorship without consultation hurts people's feelings. Especially it was my first edit. And do not even know how to really navigate Wikipedia.

It is true, that Larry Page is how I describe him from my research; it is true that he needs to know that his people need to develop the same design but better when it comes to the Microsoft Surface Book Pro and the IPAD PRO with "pen".

I only stated all the compliments from the heart because he is one of the main Android operating system innovators that so many millions of people use now.

My message could have a metaphor? Don't you think that what I said about Larry Page was true? My USPTO patent is based on the very fact, that as Registered Nurse for 28 years, I innovated a design, which I do not need Larry Page or Google or Apple or Windows for any kind of monetary request? I am doing this on my own. My mistake was that I wrote draft to final. When one edits, when one writes from the heart, its dangerous in a sense that the orginal writing will lose its real define. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AzimuthPolarity5 (talkcontribs) 22:21, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, AzimuthPolarity5 - There are many things wrong with your edit to Larry Page, a biography of a living person (which has stricter guidelines than other articles). Opinion and neutrality can be subjective at times, but you made it perfectly clear in your edit. You added: "I believe his success or his calling is based on the desire to make the world a better place for all", and "I am sure that he looks at those kids and automatically has myriad of novel ideas, designs and 3d thoughts that not even an engineer can muster. He I'd one of my comments two years ago. I was just learning the G+ then. I have and think the same way he does. Just wish he can use my creativity. I feel that he is one of those successful CEOs' that would just want to be behind the limelight and invent in his own space. I relate to him". If this is a direct quote from the person, then it needs to be formatted and cited with a reliable source. I don't believe that is the case. You also mention "your research" in your message to me above. Remember that original research is not allowed on Wikipedia (especially on articles that are biographies of living people); everything you add on Wikipedia must be attributable to a reliable source, or actually attributed (cited) with a reliable sourced. Unreferened information can be challenged and removed (unreferenced controversial information must be removed from BLP articles). Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to respond and assist you. Thanks for leaving me a message about your concerns, and I wish you happy editing :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 00:04, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for this. Not surprisingly, he's restored the comments. He's a WP:LTA who has, for whatever reason, focused on me and hounding my edits, doing his level best to get me in trouble with edit warring or whatever he can come up with at the moment. It's been going on for over a year now. -- WV 23:02, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Winkelvi - Of course; you're very welcome. I've reported the user to AIV SPI, so it'll hopefully be handled there (and soon) :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:28, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for doing that. It's beyond old and tiresome. Most of the time, I just ignore him, but I was curious to see how he would respond to my query. His answer was not surprising and met all of my expectations. lol -- WV 23:30, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
Oh, hey -- I just noticed. I thought you reported the IP user. That was a surprise to see. It will be interesting to see where the report goes. -- WV 23:31, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
Winkelvi - So I removed the AIV report - the user had no warnings left on his/her talk page. But there is an SPI open here. If there are more accounts that you think are related, please add them to the report :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:44, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
I'm confused. Are you saying you think the account you reported at AIV, the TruthInLies account, and the NY IP vandal/harasser/hound are all the same? If so, I guess I wouldn't have come to that conclusion without some real conclusive evidence. If you have some, I'd be interested to see it. -- WV 23:46, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
I'm confident that there's some socking going on. There's a report open to have someone look into it. We'll see what is uncovered ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 00:17, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Comment from User:D.R Neal G

Can you explain to me in plain English why your are deliberately altering for no reason my update to Budbrooke Barracks when I've supplied reliable reference. You seem to be committing the very thing your spouting out against on your page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by D.R Neal G (talkcontribs) 04:08, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, D.R Neal G and thanks for chatting with me and helping me out here. We don't need to edit war, get uncivil, and start a big fight just to discuss your edit, right? I'll be more than happy to discuss the edit you made to Budbrooke Barracks and help you out. The issue with this edit is a few things:
  1. It has issues with our neutral point of view guidelines. In the edit, you said "The site has since been developed in to a thriving housing estate called Hampton Magna" (I formatted the word in issue) - "thriving" can be translated as an insertion of opinion, or speaking unnecessarily positive towards the housing in a biased manner. The NPOV policy will help you with this.
  2. The statement above was unreferenced. Can you provide a source that says they were renamed? See Wikipedia's guidelines on reliable sources and citing sources for when it's appropriate and required to cite a source.
  3. You cited a Wikipedia article in some of your content. You need to pull the actual source from the article instead of citing other Wikipedia articles. Those don't count as secondary sources, and technically could count as "original research" in a way.
One you fix those issues, your edit should be fine. By the way, please leave messages at the bottom of people's talk pages. Not the top. :-)
Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 04:20, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
Comment by User:D.R Neal G Let start by saying I personally dislike kids dressed up in military garb referring to stuff in pseudo military language like as war, a fight etc. if you ever been in a battle field you would not been so keen to ape the military. I have in front of me a volume of the encyclopedia Britannia, that was complied by academics usually noble prize winner. Also in front of me is my computer with Wikapedia that is edited and administrated by well not it seems noble price winning academics. But ill-educated vain kids that like to portray themselves as having standard they don't possess. Does that ring any bells? As your a prime example User:Oshwah a total parody who vandalism a entry I made justifying with a lame semantic argument. There a four letter word that sums you up and your full of it kid.
D.R Neal G, I don't understand the argument you're trying to convey. You say that this site is maintained by "ill-educated vain kids" that don't "possess standards", but you become angry when asked to cite a reliable source with your statements, as well as reference what is constituted as a reliable source. These are common standards that any person would understand and assume is a rule in practice on websites like Wikipedia. If you're referencing The Encyclopedia Britannica, then you need to cite it properly. Tell us where you're getting the information from. Why is that such a big deal to you? Why get so angry over something like this? ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 04:54, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
Comment by User:D.R Neal G You keep referring to standards, standards are something you don't possess or have a vague sense off. User:Oshwah You know very well I supplied a reliable source, your playing games, probably having a good old chuckle over that lame semantic argument for deleting my update. What can a place be other than thriving, dead like your personality. Your impressing no one with your glib responses. If you set yourself high standards, that you can only fantasize of ever achieving or to lazy to have a go at achieving than why be here spouting rubbish. To answer you other question so far I've encounter kids that are unable to conduct themselves in adult manner and play fair. Your not a good ambassador for Wikipedia or its reliability. Your presence on here doing the service no flavors.
User:D.R Neal G - I believe that I have done everything possible to provide you with the appropriate assistance you need regarding your dispute, and in a professional manner that is acceptable. Unfortunately, I cannot assist you any further. Your uncivil comments made here (and more importantly, directly toward other editors who have also tried to assist you in good faith) show me that your intentions are not to let me help you, and that you're really not here to build Wikipedia. I'm sorry; this conversation has been escalated to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:49, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Place of Birth Edit on Imtiaz Ali Page

Hello there!

I am writing to you on behalf of Imtiaz Ali. This is to bring to your notice that the correct place of birth is 'Jamshedpur', as opposed to Bihar( as mentioned in the current edit).

I had tried to cite the source for the same; but you have still rejected the same.

Please find below a couple of other sources for the same:

[1] [2] [3] [4]

Hoping that you would please consider this change. Please do let me know in case of any concern.

Sara Bareilles

Hi Can you please explain why did you delete my edits? What references are you looking for Sara not having kids? Or not being married? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andkir1 (talkcontribs) 15:05, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Andkir1 - it was both. I recommend that you review Wikipedia's policies regarding biographies of living people, as it will further explain why information must be referenced that could be interpreted as controversial in BLP articles. To add the information, just cite a reliable source. Although, I will say this: the information you want to add, even if referenced, might be removed by other editors as not being "necessary". However, I'll leave that to someone else. The main concern here is the fact that it's unreferenced and in a BLP article. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be more than happy to help you :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 15:15, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Closure notice

Hi. I'm making a friendly suggestion about your recent closure notice at ANI "Issue with incivility and WP:NOTHERE". You may wish to consider including the name of the banning admin or the diff of the ban notification which includes the admin's name. To the inexperienced reader, it looks like you raised the concern, you discussed the concern and then you blocked the user. This is a very minor concern, but might help avoid future confusion. Your message on my talk page

Dear Oshwah,

In reply to your message, I did want to add the following source: http://www.espncricinfo.com/new-zealand-v-australia-2015-16/content/story/972303.html to my edit of Adam Voges but couldn't because I couldn't type the captcha code correctly/it didn't load. No subject

Hi, You invited me to discuss about my changes to the Apollo site.

Collapsing, as it is a huge block of text.

In short: Wikipedia is full of fake info with no support what so ever (many so called sources attached to page sybjects, leads to nowhere or fake/made up books which does not exist, or it quotes the quoter which quotes his own books full of his own opinnions). Wikipedia admins does not verify the existing or veridicy of the mention sources, but automatically considers them "true" if the names of the quotes sources are pompos enough, or have in it artificial inserted famous names like "Harvard" or "Cambridge". This being so most insignificant problem of the site. Bigger problems is that the site is intensive used by greek nationalists for their political agenda. During the last 10 years they deleted info and countless historical maps and artefact pictures under the pretencies that after 20 years of vieuwing, those relevant maps and pics may no longer be showed on "copyrights reasons", while those have been absolete after so many years anyway. Another problem is that the site contains countless contradictory infi. What on one page us says white (abstract example) on another page about the same subject it says "black". It's a total chaos. The greek nationalists which now succeded to be admins here, continuously vandalise the site, deleting directly real data backed up by official references, replacing with empty words and fake info without any sources (let proper sources of any kind). They even say that inserting a hyperlink in the text I add, link which leads to another wikipedia page (like the "Greece" page for example), it's not prrmitted because (I quote them): "informations from Wikipedia are not to be trusted". So.. it looks like the Circus came to town and it's name is Wikipedia. If info from wikipedia is not to be trusted, why do they not accept my info pretending that it's not trustfull? Logically the place of untrustfull info is on untrustfull sites. CONCRET EXAMPLE about what I experience here, as an old historian with 45 years experience in the field: Apollo (all names were first descriptions, which became later Names), known first as Apulu as he was from Apulum(now the city if Alba Iulia), city in Hyperborea, was known by ancient greeks as The Hyperborean Apollo. (Herodotus explains that Hyperborwa was not in the nothern Greece were Macedonia was, but in the far north, above Danube, the land later called Dacia. Apollo was the son of Zeus, known by Herodotus as Zeus of Dodona, another ancient NON-greek zone. The mount Olympus zone was allways in Dacian zone bellow Danube, province of Macedonia, the olympian language (see Aromanian language page) also being non greek, but thracian/dacian/aromanian. The southern half of Macedonia together with other countrie's teritories and together with the mount Olympus zone, were stolen by Genocide, by Greece, on century ago. Before that, mount Olympus never had anything to do with Greece ir the greeks. See also multicoloured map of the Greek teritorial Gains at the GREECE page here. Being as ysyal very proud of their genocide if any era, the greeks also published stamps (to be found on the net, I gave it too) which shows what teritory took Greece, from what country, and in what year. The greek nationalists falsifjed by now (for years!) whole wikipedia, where they present the olymlian Gods as "greek" Gods, Apollo from far off Greece also as "greek" god, etc., ignoring even their own ancient greek historians. Any repare attempt to correct the info here according to ancient greek historians, is quicky reverted according to perpetyal political agresive greek agenda concerning Macedonia. If you know the history from at least ladt century, you know more than I need to tell you here. Alexander Macedon was born in 4-th century in Pella, in Thrace. The "thracian state between 5-th and 3-rd century BC) could show also the thracian zone, but that map too was deleted from the site, after many years of existing on the site. Historical data can prove the truth anyway. Alexander used hats and helmets typicalli for non greeks, with it's top pointed foreward (like phrygian cap), style which ancient greeks allwats atributed to NON greeks, also called "barbarians". This was also seen later in the movie Alexander, also the movie Troy, where the greeks did not even know who Apollo was, and destroyed it's tempels. I neec a couple of months just to tell you how many kakameny fairytales were inserted here by greek nationalists while removing every real info, ecisted or attepted later, of real historians, so I will only tell you this too and I wil stop here: The greeks invaded Pelasgia (starting wich Mycene, south of Pelasgia) and than Troy..etc, being official in existence in Europe, only since 13-th century BC. The olympian Gods are much mych older. Even Troy is mych older than that cause in order to be attacked by the invading greeks, it had to exist first. According to the greek nationalists on wikipedia, everything in the world is "greek" or greek related. Real historuans and real proof in the real world prices otherwise. We do not care about wikipedia, but is being observed that paralel with the decaying of school education, more and more youngsters come on wikipedua for info. Thus they create later a total different history than the real one. This is why we try to repare the nonsense on wikipedia. Half an our ago I got mad and placed a saecasting adding at the thracian language paragraph where some cretins sayd that the Thracia was invaded and thracian language "slavicized" continuously until 5 century AD, when "the last remnants of thracian language dissapeared". Biggest absurdity ever. Not only that the thracian language us stil spoken today (but called aromanian/romanian), but the skavs did not even came to Europe/Thrace until the 6-th century AD. The cretin poster meant maybe that OR the slavs were "time travellers", or the slavs exterminated the thracian language before, from a distance, through Skype, by convincing a whole civilisation to forget who they are and their own language, and to adopt the new slavic one. This to give you an impression about what I have to put up to. All the nonsense is being posted and accepted, and all the real info is being deleted. If you let this hapoend any longer, no himan being or otherwise, will give a... something on wikipedia info.

Thanks for reading. You can also mail me at castell_berings@yahoo.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by Muntele (talkcontribs) 18:10, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Muntele - Umm... haha... that's quite a wall of text you've provided for me to read. Whew, good Lord... I need to make a cup of coffee. Hold on... ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 18:18, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

PS: Sorry for those many written mistakes (I use my cell phone now) and that in the final I forgot to sign it. There is quite a lot to say about a lot of falsifying facts on wikipedia, but I didn't want to bore you, esspecially when you are the only admin which talks. The rest in the past started yelling "ATACK TO PERSON!!" and blocked me for a month, telling me this in a message where they pretended to insert a link for my reaction, link that they blocked too so I can't answer or complain.Muntele (talk) 18:28, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @Muntele: If you don't know enough English to understand what the articles say, you shouldn't edit the English language Wikipedia. Thracian language does not say what you claim it says, when you edited the article it said "Most of the Thracians were eventually Romanized, Hellenized or Slavicized, with the last remnants surviving in remote areas until the 5th century", not just "Slavicized". The claim about them being "Slavicized" has now been removed by me, though, after checking the source, where there's no mention of any Slavic influence, only Greek and Roman. Meaning that I have done what you should have done, i.e. checking sources and correcting to what the source says, instead of just adding unencyclopaedic POV comments. Thomas.W talk 18:31, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
Cool, I'm back with my coffee now... Hey, look at that! Hi, Thomas.W! Thanks for stepping in and providing context regarding what this whole thing is about. I'll just stand right here and... yeah ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 18:35, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Another thing: I just got threatened by another admin which blocks me every month even if I do not even come on wikipedia (it seems that I am a "to be blocked" client on his personal agenda list), where he purposelly (in order to try to argument his continue hostile behaviour towards everybody which does not accept his dictatorship) remainds my past info corections on the site, at the Dacians pages, where I also added official sources as well as "forbidden" links to this same wikipedia, "not trustworthy site" according to him and his greek nationalists team there. I attache here his today reaction, but before that I wish to point out that I am an historian and archaeologist since before his father was born, I am from Dacia, and I know my iwn history more than anybody else. So when it comes about what happened in Dacia, I am the one who knows stuff and tell others, not the other way arround as the adnin you see bellow force me under threat to accept his point if view and ignore the real history. Bellow you have his message to me, today.

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Trajan's Dacian Wars. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blockedfrom editing Wikipedia. Warning for repeated unsourced edits (see page history of article). And it's not only this article but several more, all showing repeated seemingly POV edits, with no sources supporting them. Garden Party

I have been a professional radio DJ since the '70's with over 40 years experience.

It has been well known since 1972 that Rick Nelson's line in 'Garden Party', 'Ringin' a bell' was a direct reference to Chuck Berry's then-current song, 'My Ding-A-Ling'. Why was my addition deleted? 99.171.100.169 (talk) 20:34, 13 February 2016 (UTC)99.171.100.169 (talk) 23:18, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

contributer

Hello Oshwah, I have been a minor contributor to Wikipedia over the years. In fact, I just got a message from you about a change I made to a mistake on Adam Worth. I know you get a lot of questions so please forgive me for taking up your time. I have a PhD in geology and think that Wikipedia is the most amazing thing ever constructed. I am a professor and I cannot tell you how often I use your graphs and images to help my classes (with reference of course). I have read a bit about Wikipedia and wonder how so many people can work on it for no money. It is my understanding that only one person at Wikipedia makes a salary. So I hate to sound like a capitalist but what is in this for the contributors. I ask this only because I am curious and am not because I am seeking any compensatory amount for an of my contributions (not that they would be worth much). Volcanoman7 (talk) 21:27, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Volcanoman7! Thanks for leaving me a message! No apologies needed at all; I'll be more than happy to answer your questions and tell you more about how it works. Many people volunteer their time towards building, maintaining, and protecting Wikipedia. We do it for the same reasons that other people volunteer their time; because we enjoy it :-). ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 21:36, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

New Feminism: "Obedience and Dependency"

Hi there, Oshwah! Thank you so much for reaching out about my deletion on the "New Feminism" page. I'm new to Wikipedia editing and didn't realize there was a protocol for deleting content, so I'd like to apologize for that. I would like to explain my deletions in hopes that you will again remove them from the page.

There is a section on the "New Feminism" page called "Obedience and Dependency". As a Catholic and follower of New Feminism, I know that all of the content under that section is paraphrased to the point of complete warping of the information. None of that is true, and is in fact a common misconception that we fight against. This misinformation and misconstrued idea of a man "leading" a woman and her subsequent obedience to him is something that is openly criticized in all of the classes I've taken on Theology of the Body/Catholicism and Feminism. It is extremely unfortunate that such information is presented as fact on a popular website like Wikipedia.

Most of the "New Feminism" page is spot on, and a great resource! However, some bits are not only untrue/not what this movement subscribes to, but are heretic in the eyes of the Catholic Church, which heads up the movement (ie. "She is their Eucharist." under "Masculinity", which I also attempted to delete.)

I would appreciate it if you would further look into these queries and re-delete the content, given this explanation. Many thanks! 2602:306:36D3:87A0:F0C8:AF70:CAE9:D99D (talk) 23:55, 13 February 2016 (UTC)Aly

Hello

Do you know where the help page is for new articles generally, and for the formatting on the wiki? Thank you again (talk) 00:02, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, 400 Lux! Lets start by having you complete the Wikipedia Adventure tutorial. Once you're done with that, we'll talk formatting and all that stuff. Let me know if you run into any questions with the tutorial. It's a really good place to start, and it will actually help you. Message me again when you complete it. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 00:05, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
I'm better if I can just read a reference/technical document. This method will not fit me well. Is there a page I could read? 400 Lux (talk) 00:20, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
400 Lux - Fair enough; you're just like me. Skip the crap and read the technical docs :-). Yes, there is. All formatting-related guidelines are at Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Creation of new articles falls into different categories, what are you looking for specifically? ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 00:51, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

Deletion without explaination

A change I made was reverted and I am curious why and how to fix it. I have been trying to wikify the sources and citations on the Gestures in language acquisition page because there were two separate citation/reference lists. I consolidated it into one and had it cited according to wikipedia standards. Perhaps there is a reason that these were separated and if so, why? If not, how do I have my edits restored without going through individually as I have already done this twice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cait ash (talkcontribs) 22:26, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Cait ash. Thanks for leaving me a message regarding your concerns. I saw this edit that you made to Gestures in language acquisition. You removed the references, but you didn't explain why. I went ahead and looked at your previous changes before that removal; it appears that you were converting that list to in-line citations using Wikipedia's manual of style - perfect! I went ahead and rolled back my reversion - the article is now back to the version with all of your changes applied. In the future, it would be helpful if you left good edit summaries explaining what you're changing and why. This way, other reviewers and editors will understand and know what you're doing. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them and assist you with anything you need. Thanks again for the message, and happy editing! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 22:35, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
Thank you. I will ensure that I will explain why in the future. However, there are still some citations that I did edit and fix that are still appearing as they were. I do not want to go through and edit again because like I said I have already done it twice. Is there anything you or I can do to fix this? Cait ash (talk) 22:52, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
Cait ash - I double checked and verified that I reversed my changes and restored the version of the article that was saved immediately prior to my changes. There also appears to have been changes made since my reversion. Are you sure that there is a problem? You can look at the history of the article; every single change saved is available, and you can view and edit every reversion and find what changed. So you don't have to manually change anything again if you've changed it before. I hope this helps you out. Please feel free to message me any time you have questions or need anything :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:01, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

Jordan is a very good friend of mine and im trying to support her. Please watch the video and see for yourself?

Bangerhanger (talk) 01:36, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Bangerhanger - See my previous response. You need to review Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy, and Wikipedia's reliable sources policy. These will answer your questions and assist you. I also see that you've just indicated that you claim to know Jordan Raskopoulos personally. This represents a conflict of interest. Editing articles where you have a conflict of interest is very discouraged behavior on Wikipedia. It removes your ability to edit the article in a neutral point of view. You indicated that you're editing the article because you're "trying to support her" - this is not neutral. Please read the Wikipedia policies I've cited, and let me know if you have any more questions. Putting the content back on the article repeatedly without discussing it first can constitute edit warring, which can get you blocked. Before doing so, start a discussion on the article's talk page. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:41, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Nina Czegledy edit

Hi Oshwah, I have been doing some minor edits to help correct this page for new media artist Nina Czegledy. I have noticed that some of this information is incorrect, and I am starting to correct portions of this page as I go. Her inclusion as an article is important as she is an important Canadian digital and new media artist. I am not convinced that the 'flight from Hungary' text is useful or relevant. She has made some documentary films (for example see here: https://isea2011.sabanciuniv.edu/.czegledy) so that is relevant enough to remain. But you are right, I should have included some explanatory text along with the edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cargill208 (talkcontribs)

Hi, Cargill208! Thanks for leaving me a message here. The reason that I revered your edit to Nina Czegledy was because you did not explain why you removed the content using the edit summary. When making major edits to articles, it's important that you explain each one using the edit summary. This helps other reviewers and editors understand what you're doing and why. If you do this, you should be good to go. Please let me know if you have any more questions or if you need assistance. Happy editing, and welcome! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:33, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Topic bans on user pages

I thought topic bans also applied to user talk pages, per WP:TBAN; that is, a topic ban includes not just articles but discussions or suggestions about weather-related topics anywhere on Wikipedia, for instance a deletion discussion concerning an article about a meteorologist, but also including edit summaries and the user's own user and talk pages (including sandboxes). 99.236.126.9 (talk) 02:00, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

So I reviewed the policy again after our previous discussion. You are correct. I redacted my response in that earlier conversation with you on the enforcement page - I said that it only applies to article and article talk; that was not correct. However, I think he was discussing more-so his declined appeal than the subject of longevity. If you still feel that this is a violation, you can create a new discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' Noticeboard/Incidents or Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement (just make sure that you follow the instructions this time ;-) - you added discussion to the end of a closed thread). However, I don't think that it will result in action (but this is just my opinion). Hope this helps :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:21, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
There's another IP involved who posted on the AE page. The editor in question has continued to post on the topic and replaced that post after it was removed as a violation, which I think are also violations of the topic ban. I would file an AE action but the page says I can't as an IP. 99.236.126.9 (talk) 20:07, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
Hi, 99.236.126.9 - You can create a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' Noticeboard/Incidents if you feel that there are topic ban violations or behavioral issues that are occurring. You don't have to have an account to express your concerns there. Just be sure to provide clear evidence as to what is being violated, and why you believe it to be a violation. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers -- ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:12, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, 142.162.117.51. I appreciate you for providing the article that discusses the sex scandal, but I also believe that the content you added has issues with Wikipedia's policy of adhering to a neutral point of view. The content you added gives undue weight to the sex scandal and what makes the person notable. It can be read as an unnecessary bias, which is something that must be removed/fixed as much as possible. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:29, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Could you revert my edit?

Hi. I believe that my edit was completely true. An edit should be constructive, have nothing false, and have more information than the previous version, correct? My edit was all three of these things. Therefore you should revert my edit.

Did not you mean restore?

Revert means undoing an edit.

Trying to figure out what reason you had for removing so much material? You said "rv addition of incomplete sentence," then declared the deletion of nearly half the wiki a "minor edit." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Usernameunique (talkcontribs) 03:37, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Inaccurate Soca music information on Wikipedia

Hello my real name is Ian Henry and I am based in London.

I am originally from Trinidad & Tobago and have done a lot of research on soca music starting from the mid 1980's. I was also born in 1962 and so grew up in T&T when soca music was created and gradually became the popular musical sound track of carnival during the late 1970’s.

During the course of my research I have collected most of the calypso and soca recordings from the main soca pioneers (Shorty, Maestro, Ed Watson, Pelham Goddard, Shadow and others). I regard myself as an expert on the music of Lord Shorty as I have a collection of all his albums and most of his singles from 1972 till his death from bone-marrow cancer in 2000. I also interviewed Shorty with his family in Piparo in Trinidad in 1992 when he was alive that was even before Harold Pysadee did his 1995 interview with Shorty for Culture Share which is now uploaded to YouTube.

I noticed some gross errors and misinformation about soca pioneers Shorty and Maestro in the Soca music article a while ago and decided it was time to take the time to correct the misinformation to make the info more accurate especially regards to timelines for releases and events mentioned.

I've noticed that you stated that my information and corrections was biased so you removed them. I've also noticed that one of the links that was cited for some of the wrong information that I spotted was cited to socawarriors.net to a discussion thread that is dealing with some other topic that has nothing to do with soca music.

Can you state exactly what information that I posted that you regard as biased as I know for sure that all of the information that I have posted on Shorty and Maestro is dead accurate and has been and can be verified.

I can tell you for starters that the late Maestro did not have a house or live in Dominica as currently stated in the Wikipedia information on Soca music; Maestro’s house was in Princess Town Trinidad. Nor did Maestro experiment with cadence and calypso as stated in the Wikipedia information, Shorty was the one who did that experiment in 1975 for a track on his 1976 album and not Maestro. Nor did Maestro die in an accident in Dominica as stated in the Wikipedia information. The late Maestro who was Lord Shorty's close calypso friend (as they both lived in the same area in Trinidad) died in Trinidad on 30th August 1977 when he was hit by a car on the Solomon Hochoy Highway while helping someone change a flat tyre.

I have done a lot of research on soca music which has been commended by members of TUCO in Trinidad including the TUCO president Lutalo Masimba (See his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/bro.resistance). Here is a link to one of my information threads (http://www.islandmix.com/backchat/f16/tribute-lord-shorty-aka-ras-shorty-i-father-soca-thread-252325/#post4278164) which anyone can learn a lot from if they take time to read it as it is all based on accurate well researched information backed by the chronological music recordings.

If all is okay with you I will try to correct the misinformation on Shorty and Maestro once again and hopefully you will realise that I am actually helping to raise the standard and credibility of the Wikipedia info on Soca music by providing totally accurate and well researched information.

Best regards Ian Henry aka Socapro — Preceding unsigned comment added by Socapro (talkcontribs) 07:15, 15 February 2016 (UTC) Socapro (talk) 07:24, 15 February 2016 (UTC) Socapro (talk) 07:30, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello, Ian. I hope Oshwah doesn't mind me making a comment here.
I agree that many of the Caribbean music articles on Wikipedia are lacking good sources. A few musicologists such as Jocelyne Guilbault have written books on the topic; these should be the backbone of the articles. Not website forum discussions such as socawarriors.net! You are correct in taking that out in this series of edits which involve the London IP 2.99.64.43 and also your registered username Socapro.
I respect your expertise on the topic, an expertise gained through years of study. The problem, and it's a big one, is that Wikipedia must be based on published facts, not on new or unpublished analysis. The hard-and-fast rule is called WP:No original research—please read it. Original research is what authors do, and rightly so, but it is not allowed on Wikipedia. If you want to bring your expertise to bear on the articles about Caribbean music then you must either use your expertise to find published sources saying the things you know to be true, or you must write your own account and get it published in an established publication. Your personal analysis cannot be carried by Wikipedia. Binksternet (talk) 05:46, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

On the little change for the release year of latest Gary Lucas CD

Hi, I'm Bjh, and I'm the one who did the little change on Gary Lucas' page. I was just listening to the CD, freshly delivered from Cuneiform Records. It appeared on their January 2016 batch (each ear, Cuneiform is releasing three batches of 5 [sometimes 6] CDs and I always buy them all) - in January, May and September. It is definitely a 2016 Cuneiform release. Here is the page from the label:

Hi, Anonymous666FFF - According to Wikipedia's verifiability and reliable sources policy, the burden of proof is on the submitter of the content, which means that you need to locate and cite a reliable source if you are going to add content such as this to an article. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks -- ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:28, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, 2601:2C2:0:252C:CC4A:44C7:6981:132E - You need to cite a reliable source with your content. This is required for content that is controversial and likely to be challenged. it is 'absolutely required for biographies on living people, which have stricter policies regarding the requirement to cite sources. I highly recommend that you review these policies, as they will answer your questions. Thanks. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 21:43, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

Soka Gakkai page

Hi Oshwah, I mentioned on the talk page that I think the quantity of Nichiren Shoshu material on the Soka Gakkai page is excessive—nearly 1900 words. Other encyclopedias have less than half that amount on the Soka Gakkai subject. I would like to edit it down to what is relevant to the Gakkai in one section. If you want a more detailed explanation of what I would like to do, I can provide it. I posted my intent in general several weeks ago and waited for responses, but none was forthcoming, so I thought it was okay to go ahead. Let me know what I need to do. Thanks.Ltdan43 (talk) 21:41, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

Ltdan43 - Please let me apologize for the delay getting back to you. The reason I removed your edits here and here was because you did not leave a helpful explanation with your changes. If you do this in the future, it will help other editors understand what you are trying to do. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 04:28, 18 February 2016 (UTC)`

Regarding your apology, don't worry, I can see you have a full plate. We all volunteer our time, but you are in a different league all together. I understand your reasons. I made a couple of specific points on the talk page, but will give a more full account. If you go back over a year, there is a consensus that the Soka Gakkai page was too long and somewhat chaotic. Since the Soka Gakkai and Nichiren Shoshu have been separated for over 25 years, there are some things that are not relevant. The history of course must remain, but some matters that are really Nichiren Shoshu more than Soka Gakkai can be taken out. Plus, there are like five sections spread out through the text that are Nichiren Shoshu matters. If you return me to among the living, I will detail any edits on the Soka Gakkai talk page prior to taking action. Thanks for your service to Wikipedia.Ltdan43 (talk) 17:36, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

I am admittedly a newbie to Wikipedia entry. My purpose was to correct an incorrect date (as to when Scouting went co-educational). My unfamilarity with at the beginning caused a "bounce back". So I went back and corrected it. The program seemed to accept it. Hella subject

Hi Oshwah, yes I do feel my story was a bit sloppy and should have been done in a different productive manner, it was a cut and paste rough draft, I got into a post when I heard someone say Hella, I asked them what it meant to see there version as I do jokingly with people in the past decades, then I tell them the story and history of it and it's origin, I usually don't do this often as I some times get burnt out telling the story, but ya anyways it is a dutch word and my whole family said this work in their broken English growing up, my father side of the family is from Holland, I didn't make up the word as it is already a true word in Dutch spelled Heele or sometimes Hele, used in different context to it's sentence in meaning, it means in dutch very, or everything or entire or whole. I grew up saying hella this and hella that as my cousin did as well, I have witnesses to this as well being my family and friends who ended up liking my slang using it in the same manner as we do in dutch, I said this for everything in the 70's just being used to it as my family did, Heele dis and Heele allemal, but ya, forgive me for saying I was young and used it in terms of smoking, I should leave that part out and be more professional, hope you can forgive me, I'm not to familiar to Wiki other than using it to research, I've never had an account, but will you please work with me getting this story out and the truth of it, you can google this to see the proof I am talking about, I'l show you a google link even with translator to show you verification it's dutch as well, it kills me I am not getting credit for this after seeing how far my word has come, I jumped out of my chair and my jaw dropped when I seen Bart Simpson say it on tv,,,lol Please believe me when I'm sharing this with you, here is Heele being used exactly how it's being described in your introduction to show you the truth https://translate.google.com/#nl/en/heele%20lekker , Please Please help me get my credit I deserve and end all those guestimations listed from the very 1st posters, some of the stuff posted from not to far back might be true after the fact of it's slang creation, but the stuff I'm reading from it's claimed origins aren't true, and my family can testify this knowing I used this term constantly as a child in the 70's from it's dutch origins. So if your willing to work with me on this I would be so appreciative, it will end this mystery of wiki's guessing and not fully understanding the facts I can give. Please take into consideration some of my evidence through google translate. I'm hoping this all will make sense to you after, It's been real hard and frusterating for the last decades explaining this to people, but ya, should I really expect people to believe me when this world is so doubtful, most people are like ya sure, right, your the one who created Hella,,,sigh..I don't expect everyone to believe me, it doesn't bother me anymore being I know the truth as well as my family does. People even have a hard time when I tell them Koolio used to live across the street from me,,lol oh the Vegas life Ok Looking so forward to your reply soon, Thank You, Sincerely David de Haas — Preceding unsigned comment added by David de Haas (talkcontribs) 03:08, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

I wasn't trying to remove the discussion at all; rather, I was simply trying to move it over to WP:AN, since the discussion seemed to be in the wrong venue (block reviews should go to AN, not ANI, or so I am told). Prhdbt, there's no requirement that block reviews happen at WP:AN instead of WP:ANI; they happen in both venues, and I want the thread to stay at WP:ANI for wider input. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 07:18, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Correction of Inaccurate Soca music information on Wikipedia

Hi Oshwah,

During the last week I took a lot of valuable time out of my schedule to correct most of the errors and misinformation that I spotted in the Wikipedia Soca music information articles and particularly the one on Lord Shorty aka Ras Shorty-I that had highly inaccurate and misleading information especially in regards to timelines of recordings and events.

As you know I first did some corrections from my computer without creating an account and you removed the corrections so I then decided to create an account to identify myself and to also let you know what my credentials are regards to supplying accurate information about Soca music. More important than that I also supplied you with a link to one of my blog-threads that I did on Ras Shorty I (http://www.islandmix.com/backchat/f16/tribute-lord-shorty-aka-ras-shorty-i-father-soca-thread-252325/#post4278164) a number of years ago that contains all of his crucial innovative soca recordings arranged in chorological order together with informative video interviews and live performances of Ras Shorty-I and links to credible articles in which Shorty confirms the timelines of his crucial experimental soca recordings which led to his invention of Soca music. In addition also posted to that blog thread is Shorty’s discography that also confirms the timelines of all of Shorty’s crucial experimental soca recordings and more. If you take the time to read my blog thread on Ras Shorty-I you would quickly realise that all the corrections that I made to the Soca music articles here on Wikipedia are accurate and actually help to add credibility and clarity to the articles based upon the crucial timeline of recordings and when innovative contribution were made.

For starters if one knows anything about soca music they would notice right away that the current information about when Soca was developed in the very first paragraph of the current Wikipedia entry on Soca music is inaccurate. Soca music did not originate in the late 1970s as it says in the first paragraph of the current Wikipedia article. Soca was originated by Lord Shorty in the early to mid 1970’s with Shorty arriving at his final Soca formula with the song “Endless Vibrations” in 1974 after doing a string of experimental calypso recordings between 1971 and 1973. I also pointed out that Shorty’s Trinidadian calypso colleague Maestro grew up in the same area as Shorty (in Princess Town, Trinidad) and that Maestro never had a house in Dominica nor did Maestro die in a car crash in Dominica as is currently stated in the Soca music and Ras Shorty-I articles on Wikipedia. Nor did Maestro experiment with fusing Calypso with Cadence as is also currently falsely stated, that experiment was done by Lord Shorty after he visited Dominica in 1975 in a track called “E Pete”. In addition when Shorty visited Dominica in 1975 he stayed at the Fort Young Hotel in Dominica and did not stay at Maestro’s house or anyone else’s home. I personally got that info from Shorty’s own mouth when I interviewed him at his Piparo home in Trinidad in 1992. I took the time to make all these critical corrections to the current misleading Soca music article on Wikipedia but yet you chose to delete my corrections and so prevent the improvement of the accuracy and reliability of a Wikipedia entry.

Note I am still learning how to use Wikipedia for editing etc and was also planning to add a proper contents table and links which I view as more reliable to the articles that I have corrected and edited. However so far your deletions of the accurate information I have added is not very encouraging to me to continue making further contributions to help improve the credibility of the Soca music and its related articles here on Wikipedia.

On one hand when I read the welcome message to Wikipedia you’ll are inviting folks to help improve the accuracy of Wikipedia articles but now that you get some like myself (with a lot of firsthand knowledge and accurate information based on interviews and music recordings) trying to contribute you chose to delete my contributions thus causing me to waste my time trying to help improve the accuracy of your Wikipedia articles.

Please note that ALL of the information that I added is well researched and accurate and that I have either the original music recordings to refer to or actual interviews with the artists themselves to refer to. I will appreciate in the future that if/when I make any edits to improve the accuracy of articles that we have a discussion about the information you wish to delete before deleting and negating all my time and efforts dedicated to making the corrections. When we discuss the corrections that I make I can guarantee you that I can supply you with links to the evidence that my corrections are dead accurate especially when we are talking about timelines of recordings and events. I will either point you to the evidence that it is accurate or supply a link to a credible article or source. I am still learning to use Wiki but can supply credible links to most of the information that I post.

Because I hate seeing misinformation about my country’s national music and music pioneers being posted on the internet I will venture to correct the incorrect Wikipedia misinformation on Soca music and Lord Shorty once again and if there is anything that you view as inaccurate that I have added then please let’s discuss it in the future before rushing to delete information that is helping to improve the credibility of Wikipedia so that I can provide you with the proof and links that the information I have supplied is accurate and cannot be logically disputed.

Best regards and let’s hope that I do not continue wasting my time trying to help Wikipedia look reliable as my time is valuable and I am not being paid for this.

PS: I don't always refer to articles published by other folks on soca music because there are quite a few articles out there that have not been well researched and so contain glaring timeline errors regards to music recordings and events.

Hi, 32.210.82.132 - Your changes require a reliable source per Wikipedia's biographies of living people and verifiability policies. Your statement saying that you're "related to him" and that you "don't need a source" is not only incorrect per Wikipedia's policies, but also constitutes both original research (which is not allowed), and a conflict of interest (highly discouraged behavior). I highly recommend that you review these policies before continuing to modify the article. Thank you. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:20, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
You can say what you want, but I know for a fact that I know more about this particular subject/person than you do & I know that my information on the subject in question is credible, whether you think so or not. Help with pending edit war

Hey there, I'm so happy to have found you. I'm William LaTour and my girlfriend built the LaTour musician wikipedia page. The band The Squids is continually posting things in the article. I was a MINOR player in this band but because the lead singer (Joey Spatafora) can't create his own page,he constantly posts erroneous and falsified data about HIS band to hijack the LaTour page.

Is there any way to ban him from doing this? Is there any way to set up a flag for this unauthenticated data being put there? I worked hard to have the credits I do have and to see him get his name on wikipedia via my name is inaccurate. William Latour Mmmohhmmm (talk) 18:19, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello Oshwah,

I removed the mention of Enoble Media because they are separate publishing companies with a different group of owners. They should not be linked together on the page for Magna Publishing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sperretta (talkcontribs) 18:39, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Sorry for the content deleting. But I did it for important reasons.

Hi, sorry if I deleted the contempory history content. I deleted it because I think thats kind of gonna mislead viewers into confusing the 21st century in calander years and the history timelines. I think its best to just leave that out have it as a seperate thing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Woodworker87rrrrty54 (talkcontribs) 20:12, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello

Yes I think your whole theory of amoebas is complete trash, For one reason you didnt mention that amoebas are not anything like what you said because the calculation of how fast a place goes, around 300 miles an hour was not included in your article without this crucial piece of information you have no standpoint. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.52.143.60 (talk) 20:24, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

reverted useful edit

Hello Oshwah. You just reverted the changes I made to Good things come to those who wait (Heinz), which I've also just now renamed to The best things come to those who wait (Heinz). The changes I made were explained on the talk page. Why did you think they were non-constructive? Noamz (talk) 23:42, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Noamz - It looks like I reverted an edit too late on that page, and it undid your edit instead of someone elses. Please accept my apology for that. If you need any help with the article, please respond and I'll assist you. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:45, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

List of EastEnders characters

Hello Oshwah, thank you very much for messaging me. I edited the character Ronnie Mitchell on the List of EastEnders characters page because I'm just not sure whether her surname should be 'Mitchell' or 'Cotton' - it could potentially be either. You may have also noticed that I made a similar edit with the character Amy Mitchell. I would be interested to hear your verdict on this. Thanks again, Jamestlynch99. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamestlynch99 (talkcontribs) 23:46, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi Oswah,

thanks for the message about the Dr Beeching item I made.
I have no love for the man., but I was employed by a multinational concrete company which benefitted greatly from the immense Motorway building programme and funded the conservative government and indirectly it's coffers.
Likewise the car manufacturers, petrol companies and other vested interests who were going to make a mint out of declining the railways and expanding the roads in the u.k.
So I personally know that Beeching took virtually all the flak for ernie marples and his hidden aggenda.
Whilst I understand you may not see this as neutral.
I do see one of the failings of wiki as being too politically correct. They do not want to add anything controversial to the status quo- even if it was correct - according to the establishment of the day - which purposely then left part of the truth unrecorded and unsaid.

Note

I am not asking you to record the cash they got back through party donations, etc......
Ernie marples was very coy and used Beeching as a fig leaf and pushed through a policy of expanding roads and car use, although this was not admitted at the time. It was suspected at the time and only became apparent to many later.
As you say in your other article: "Beechings axe" was very very controversial, but that is in a seperate article elsewhere. Few today now realise that he was only the bullet delivering the predertermined result - not the gun.
Today we still are living with the effects it brought and often Dr Beeching is badly maligned because of this overhang effect that happens in history.
Marples chose and aimed him, he purposefully replaced his predecessor and set his task, and so in fairness and justice this needs clearly pointing out here to aid clarification... while I have no admiration or hate for Beeching- it is unjust that it is not pointed out squarely to all new readers.
Doing So helps show Beechings true legacy was more and that he was a succesful innovator and modernerizing industrialist and an important legal system reformer that can be held in better regard and proper context.
Which is important, so that it is not forgotten by children who where not alive and did not live through the changes, and now who only know him for one small piece of his long ang varied career.23:49, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

what d0 u want? im busy104.192.162.98 (talk) 23:55, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello and thank you for the help

Well I'm trying to remain calm with this 'person' I will be blunt. I have no problem with 'editors' and contributors or anyone asking why someone has done this or that, or even delegating the rules that need to be adhered to, for a, near peer reviewed, page to be up to the requirements of the wiki's legal obligations etc. But being spoken to in the manor that this person, and two others have that User:Shawn in Montreal was good enough to sort out the first incident, is just not acceptable. I'm not a 'keyboard' warrior, I'm actually a permanently injured former Rock n Roll 'roadie' and former Security specialist, so I take the absolutely blatantly arrogant attitude that some 'editors' I've come across since re-joining the Wiki, to start addressing some of the issues I've found with musical entries on the site, due in the main to my injury to keep my mind busy, to be just that; completely unacceptable. I'm not denying my very un-professional manor of response, but when I give someone an explanation on my actions and it is completely ignored, then I'm treated like a 'peon' by them, well....that's not something I've ever put up with. Respect and manors are paramount, and I return the attitude of the person giving me it in kind. I'm a very polite, but blunt, person in the main, as I don't mince words due to my nature of dealing with pretty serious situation in my careers, literally involving life and death sometimes, as both of them had a degree of personal and external dangers. I'm more than willing to join the commons in good faith and follow due diligence so that my contributions can be useful and constructive to the people that come on here for some information about a subject matter. But there needs to be a resolution to the attitudes of those that have jumped on me from a great height of arrogance and thinking their entitled to do so. It can be said I come on here like a wrecking ball myself, but I've very much learned my lesson about the protocols to follow, and am still learning obviously, but that doesn't excuse the blatant arrogance of not just this person but the two others beforehand that have behaved in kind. I'm not excusing, or trying tot deny, or re-evaluating, my blunt and angry responses to any of these situations I've found myself in, as honesty is also a key word here. Nuro Dragonfly (talk) 02:02, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Nuro Dragonfly and thank you for taking the time to leave me a message. I completely understand how you're feeling; it never feels good to feel treated like a "peon" or a lesser person (especially when you feel that you're trying to be reasonable and make good contributions. You don't know me very well, but I spend most of my Wikipedia time patrolling recent changes and reverting vandalism - you can imagine the number of negative, trolling, and beat-down messages I receive every day (I'll even occasionally receive very angry messages from legitimate editors when I make a mistake; mistakes happen and nobody is perfect). I understand how frustrating and perhaps infuriating that this is. The thing I learned to do in my life experience is to ignore the anger and the negativity. Apologize if you find that you made a mistake, and offer to help and come to a resolution. Kill em with kindness :-). I want to also acknowledge and commend you on not only your message here, but your message on Drmies's talk page here. This is a step in the right direction. Make peace and seek resolution. If someone is bothering you with negativity, it's okay to call them out on it, but do so nicely. Just say "I feel that your response here (quote exactly what he/she said) was not appropriate because... ", and give them a chance to explain. If you need help with anything, want to talk about something or get an opinion, or just want a mentor - please do not hesitate to message me on my talk page. I'll be happy to help you with anything you need. Please keep in touch and let me know how you're doing :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:24, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. I did come on like a wrecking ball in my initial actions on here since my hiatus and then re-acted poorly to the situation, so honesty is the next step really. I just want to contribute, with what random PC skills I have (I've been building PCs since the Commodore 64, but only learning what code I understand in recent years), as I do like the site and try to defend it to my friends who think it is not 'peer reviewed', so therefore can't be accurate. But as I've just learned it is a bit more complicated than that. I'll just keep my head down now, use a pages talk section first (which is fair enough really considering the effort someone puts into creating said page, which I learned building my Clutch article that is now slated for AfD unfortunately..) and see what can become of consensus. I will say though that I have found some of the editors reasons for AfD on pages, as apposed to ones that are not, to still be somewhat arbitrary, and seam to be more based on personal opinion of what is a 'good' source material, and I say that in the sense if there is multiple 'small' write ups about something that it would be as good as one large written review, but that's IMO of course. Anyway, thanks for the advice and the offer of mentor-ship as I think I will need such guidance with finding my feet here in the commons. Nuro msg me 22:38, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
Hi, Nuro Dragonfly - It's good to hear back from you. Your acknowledgement regarding your reaction to the situation shows good judgment on your part. You apologized and promised to learn from it and take is as a positive step forward; you did the best things that you could do given the situation. Don't be afraid to ask questions, participate in discussions (if you feel that you can contribute), and voice your thoughts on a subject or interpretation of Wikipedia's guidelines or policies - you don't have to keep your head completely low with the mindset that you're naturally unwelcome to contribute (just don't edit war! :-D). Making mistakes is a fundamental part of learning how Wikipedia works; nobody is expected to be perfect, and I've seen many disputes and arguments between editors go way south. This situation really wasn't that bad. If someone responds in a way where you feel treated like a "peon" (as you described it earlier), or becomes passive aggressive, the best thing to do is ignore the tone and focus on the task or issue at hand. If you do that, you can't lose :-). You're absolutely welcome to message me any time for help, or if you feel that you need some guidance or mentoring. I'll be more than happy to assist you with anything that you need. Don't let the situation hold you back; take the good learning that came from it, and leave the rest behind :-). Cheers, and good luck! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 22:53, 26 February 2016 (UTC)
Just a hello and was wondering if you'd look at some of my work for Code scrutiny as I'm still very much learning. Channel1235 - This appears to be a content dispute that needs to be sorted out with Wanheda on the article's talk page. It is highly recommended that you communicate with this person on the article's talk page and come to a resolution. I see that you've been warned for edit warring; please communicate with the user before making any more changes to the article, as continuing to go back-and-fourth like this without a resolution discussion can get you blocked from editing. Please let me know if you have any questions, or if you and Wanheda need help with dispute resolution. I'll be happy to do so. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:29, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Maret Jonsdotter

Hey Oshwah!

This might be a long shot, but I was wondering if you knew anything else about the mark on Maret Jonsdotter's finger. I've been trying to find a description of what it actually looked like. I know it's a strange question- I've been delving into some genealogy and I suspected I might be related to her family. Then I read the bit about her pinky and I couldn't believe it- I've never met anyone else with a strange mark on the same finger and same hand.

Thanks!

Hey Oshwah, I just saw this edit. It was indeed a referenced change, just wrongly formatted. In fact, her death was already stated elsewhere in the article. Persephone article

I don't see why my text seemed less objective to you. What I say is a fact! Ancient peoples did not appear out of nowhere having problems with the local languages. They came in waves and intermingled in various ways. When we come to the name Persephone it is impossible to discuss pronunciations. We do not know how it was pronounced. However, scholars do agree that in time various deities and their names were consolidated in specific forms - yet keeping some of their name variations. Claiming that the Greeks could not pronounce the name is a statement you should have removed just as you are doing with mine. It is inaccurate and false. If what put you off is my ending remark then you are right. I will remove it. I placed it there because I could not believe the stupidity of the observation in an article that has the outlook of seriousness. That combination sort of scholarly infuriated me In any case, the article also names Persephone a spring goddess while she is not that at all. Persephone is a fall deity 107.213.152.232 (talk) 03:59, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Why do I have problems with my page JellyYT? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MihailoGlavonjic (talkcontribs) 08:51, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, MihailoGlavonjic and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for leaving me a message with your question. The reason that your article was deleted was because it was of a non-notable person, and the article didn't indicate why the person was significant. This is explained in-depth on Wikipedia's speedy deletion page under the exact criterion here. Before adding an article, I highly recommend that you check that the article subject meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines first, as it will save you a significant amount of time and frustration. A good tutorial that you should read through is Wikipedia:Your first article. It will go over everything that you need to know. Please let me know if you have any more questions or concerns. I'll be happy to assist you. Happy editing! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 12:10, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

MihailoGlavonjic - Even if I did, it wouldn't make a difference if the article doesn't meet the notability and verifiability guidelines; it doesn't matter who creates the article. If you need assistance creating the article while you actively do so, you can do this by following the directions in Wikipedia:Articles for creation. It will show you how to create a draft, and then submit it for creation once you're done. You can also get assistance while you're in the middle of its creation. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them. Good luck! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 19:12, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Regarding Removing Images from the article "Buffalo Meat"

As you reverted my changes I humbly request you to remove these images because:

1. The image in the "Production" Section is quite offensive. It does not have any relationship with the production of buffalo meat. Buffalo meat is not produced like this. For the production of buffalo meat, there is a proper slaughterhouse. 2. This page is created with an aim to end all the dispute between the people of India who frequently fight because they are not able to differentiate between Buffalo Meat and Cow (Which Is a sacred animal according to Hindu methodology) meat. There are a lot of riot due to this misconception. If you can remove these images I shall be highly grateful — Preceding unsigned comment added by Imran3107 (talkcontribs) 13:29, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Imran3107, this may be how Buffalo meat is made in a different country or culture (I'm not an expert on this however). Please remember that Wikipedia is not sensored; being offended by an image is not, within itself, a reason to remove it. If there are other issues such as accuracy, this is a different story. Instead of continuing to remove the image after other users have put them back, you should discuss your concerns on the article's talk page and make sure to ping the users that have restored them. This will help you to properly resolve the issues. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 13:52, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

My apologies on not citing Jim Edgar, Lester Crown, and Leonard H. Lavin correctly. I am trying to add the Lincoln Academy Award. I am not intentionally vandalizing these particular pages. Fivelanski query

Excuse the late reply, I'm having some trouble navigating this thing.
I saw a request for citations to support information on the page for the band Diamondhead and its influence on the band Metallica, and thought I would add supporting information from the mouth of Metallica founder Lars Ulrich. The source is a 2008 interview from the British TV show Later ... with Jools Holland, I don't have the exact date but I could find out. Is there a simple way for me to do this?

Thanks

Fivelanski (talk) 19:59, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Fivelanski - Thanks for leaving me a message with your question! No apologies needed; I'm glad you're here now. Do you need help finding the source, or do you need help citing the source? If you need help with finding the source, there are search engines and tools on the internet that can assist you with that. If you need help citing the source, Wikipedia:Inline citation will show you how to use the <ref></ref> tags and cite the article properly with the source you found. Just make sure that the sources you use are reliable per Wikipedia's reliable sources guidelines. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:03, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

I wanted to thank you for taking the time to leave me this barnstar. I very much appreciate it and it means a lot. How can you spot possible vandalisms and fix them so quickly?

I am not experienced at reverting vandalism or any stuff like that but I am just wondering how can you do it so quickly? Do you have any particular tool for doing this? Is there anything I can do to help with vandalism, other than scrolling all over the recent changes page and occasionally find a vandalized page? Thanks.Wishds (talk) 03:43, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Wishds and thanks for leaving me a message with your questions! Well, I've been reverting vandalism for over 8 years now; proficiency is definitely improved with tools, but long-term experience is a significant factor as well. Speaking of tools, you asked about vandalism tools. Yes, there are many tools that assist with reverting vandalism. Check out Wikipedia:Cleaning up vandalism/Tools - it has a list of all of the most-used tools that editors use to combat vandalism. My advice is to not run to the tool that helps you do it the fastest (that actually can cause more harm than good, as mistaken reverts also will occur quicker). Go for the tool that's easy for you and that you feel comfortable with. The first tool that I used (and used for a few years) was Lupin's Anti-vandal tool. It basically filters the Recent Changes list and displays only the edits that match a blacklist of words. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be more than happy to assist you and point you in the right direction. Happy vandal fighting! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 03:52, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

This user talk page you recently edited, (User:Nevets20), is an alternate sock account for User:The Reptilian Agenda, both are now blocked. I have advised this user to appeal his block on his original account. As you can see, instead of doing that, he his continuing to use this alternate account talk page to make personal attacks. You removed one such attack, but then re-added it. I wondering why you did that instead of blocking talk page access? (not a criticism, just curious... ) - theWOLFchild 07:45, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Thewolfchild - Ah! So, it's because I managed to derp somehow, apparently. It looks like Huggle reverted the edit to his/her talk page, which removed the content, and then managed to add it back with my warning? That's super weird. I'm looking into it. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 07:53, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

Request

Hi, I wonder if you can help out with two articles where the editor, who disagrees with the material, is removing the WP:RS cited content. In addition, they are also editing the cited content, which results in misrepresentation of sources. This appears to be a similar situation to Friedrich von Mellenthin, where you were involved, so I'm reaching out to you. If you could help out and then add this article to your watchlist, that would be great.

Articles:

Diffs: #2, removal and changing of citations, after a revert; #1, removal of section

Diffs: #2, removal (after a revert); #1, removal and changing of citations

Please let me know if there are some other avenues I should pursue instead. Thank you. K.e.coffman (talk) 16:09, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

First, I did not have misinterpreted any source. Just questioned your objections and contributions. The meaning of the cited passages were neither altered nor distorted in any way. The removal of the section at Michael Wittmann came due the redudancy in my eye, as the same narrative appeared on List of World War II Panzer aces from Germany. After you restored it, I kept it up, with little corrections.
  • Why Kurowski is a "guru"?
You present no context, and merely say that he romanticise German war effort. So I went along and edited that sobriquet, "guru" out.
  • "having a battlefield advantage rather than a tactical one."
That's not exactly what Zaloga have said: "Aside from clash between grossly unequal tank types, most tank skirmishes were won depending on battlefield advantages, not technical advantages."
  • I_nvincible Tiger I
Which relevance it has to say that the Tiger I was invulnerable most of its time? Its more enough to cut down the sentence of the Tiger I to "Zaloga points out that Wittmann achieved 120 of these in 1943, operating a Tiger I tank on the Eastern Front. Having advantages both in firepower and in armor."
Other edits, were made to reduce fat, like all the German sentences, next to their cication. The cut down of the article at List of World War II Panzer aces from Germany was mainly done for the sake of internal consistency, like similar lists on ww2 aces. Hi, JDOLBERT. I'm responding to the email you sent me with your question regarding content changes from an article that you've been working on. I'll be happy to take a look at that for you. I'm assuming that you're referring to Draft:The Rainforests Are Under Threat (2015 Film). I see that you removed content without explaining why in the edit summary of your edit. In the future, it's very helpful if you describe the changes you're making and why in the edit summary of your edits. This will help other editors know and understand what you're doing, as well as the reason for doing so; it avoids confusion (such as this :-)). Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them. Cheers -- ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:11, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

That last edit

Do you think that last edit to your talk page by 76.170.77.137 could be considered vandalism? I see they've already received a level four warning. Boomer VialHolla 07:55, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Boomer Vial! No worries, my friend. Technically it's incivility, but at this point (given all of the user's vandalism and trolling), it really doesn't matter which disruptive behavior you classify it as. Might be germane to this, but 76.170.77.137 did something on their talk page while ranting, which hid all the subsequent warnings which I assume were made by you, Oshwah, and then when I restored the warnings, they got signed by me, so I removed my signatures from the warnings. I recently created a page named 'Neel Ranjan Mukherjee' but my page has been tagged for speedy deletion because the information has been directly taken from a website. But this is the only information I have about the artist and every single site has the same information. I don't want my page to be deleted. What do I do?

Oishid3006 (talk) 08:03, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Oishid3006 - You absolutely cannot copy text straight from a source like this. This is a copyright violation, which is a serious issue and can get your account blocked from editing. You need to paraphrase the source that you're referencing, and then cite the source in the article. Also, I noticed that you removed the speedy deletion tag from the article. You cannot remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you've created yourself. You instead must follow the directions on the tag in order to properly contest the deletion. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them. Cheers ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:17, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
I hadn't deleted the tag. I tried to contest the speedy deletion after reading your review but couldn't find the button until now. I know the musician personally and he has allowed me to put this information. He is the actual owner of it all. Oishid3006 (talk) 08:21, 29 February 2016 (UTC)Oishani

How can 2015 have 29 days in Feb, think about it. This is for your change on Union budget page, the FM presented the budget on 29-Feb-2016, no 2015, according to you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.112.82.2 (talk) 09:43, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello

You have removed an edit I had put up about Jason Hoyte. If you read what I have out you will find it all to be true.

Please review my finds. All can be found on google or radio Hauraki or on the Bhuja podcasts.

Birmingham Airport: edit

Hi, I very recently edited the Birmingham Airport (UK) page. I removed Beijing Capital Airlines' flights to Beijing and Hangzhou from the destination list because these flights are still unconfirmed and no start date has been announced. Until a start date is officially announced, these flights shouldn't be displayed—they were previously displayed without a start date, which gives the impression that they are already operating.86.113.22.101 (talk) 10:26, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, 86.113.22.101! Great, thanks for letting me know. You'll just want to include an edit summary with your edits so that other editors understand what you're doing and why. It will prevent confusion and make life easier for you :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 10:30, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Marshal Putin! You're free to remove whatever you want from your talk page. Please understand that the warnings were not meant to be disrespectful; they were meant to make the severity of the situation clear. We want to make sure that whomever we warn clearly understands before any block is imposed. This way, we know that everything has been done in order to prevent a block from having to happen. Ad Hominem due to Graham's hierarchy of disagreement on Xiongnu

Hi Oshwah,

There are some trusted resources about Xiongnu page which I try to revert, but user named Kansas Bear, keeps changing it without addressing the substance of argument, only explanation he makes is some socks did this edits, so what ? Just because some socks did the same editing are we going to ignore resources from Harvard University Press and U of Bristol.

--130.88.99.223 (talk) 13:41, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

130.88.99.223 - I have reviewed your changes and have accepted them into the article. I agree that they seem legitimate and don't appear to be problematic. It's a common practice to remove edits made by a blocked or banned user. But what can happen occasionally is, depending on the extent of the malicious edits caused by the user, it can be assumed that all of their changes are illegitimate which leads to having their changes rolled back without being reviewed (I've been guilty of doing that many times in the past). Mistakes can happen and it's nobody's fault; the reviewers were simply acting in good faith to try and protect the project. On a side note, the edit summary you entered on this edit is not acceptable. It constitutes incivility and is a personal attack against other editors here. Please do not engage in this kind of conduct. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me them. I'll be happy to assist you. Thank you for your patience, and I wish you happy editing. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 14:04, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
Dear Oshwah - I would like to thank you very much for your concern, and your understanding. I accept that I did a mistake while writing that edit summary, i am sorry about that, but I was watching this article probably since 3 months and every time I did some changes, a few users like Kansas edited it without addressing it's substance, that made me a bit nervous and pushed me to think that some users are acting in disruptive and even nationalistic ways, but now I do believe that they were acting in good faith . But still, I am going to continue watching that article, and I may need to ask you for help in the future. (I hope I won't). Anyway, thank you very much for your understanding again.--130.88.99.223 (talk) 19:26, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
Hi Oshwah,Unfortunately, i need your help on Xiongnu again, instead of discussing the content, Kansas Bear and his fellows are reverting the edits again amd again.I really dont want to enter a edit war. If you can just have a look at those resources, you will see that my edits are the accurate ones.--130.88.99.231 (talk) 10:45, 2 March 2016 (UTC) --Defenderofthruth (talk) 13:06, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi, 130.88.99.231, or... Defenderofthruth. Since this appears to be a dispute over content, you need to start a discussion on the article's talk page and discuss the issue there (just make sure to ping Kansas Bear and the other users involved). This is the proper manner in which to discuss and resolve the issue with the content that you're trying to add. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 06:06, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Trump / Friedrich Drumpf

Dear Sir or Madam, I only propose that the changes related to Mr Friedrich Drumpf's name before he officially changed it are recorded. This is truthful and congruent with historical records. I hope you will not find this unconstructive. Hi, 86.15.15.54. Thanks for leaving me a message with your questions. I have reviewed the article, and I believe that the changes as they are now (this revision) is correct. If you still feel that there are inaccuracies or if you have concerns, please start a discussion on the article's talk page and ping any users involved so that you'll receive assistance. This is the proper way to resolve your concerns. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 14:27, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Vaughan Williams Vandalism

You reverted a "contribution" today to an article on Ralph Vaughan Williams: 09:20, 29 February 2016‎ 78.158.66.93 (talk)‎ Several other examples of vandalism have been posted by this user - or from this school address - over the last two years. Could you do something more drastic and have this so-called user blocked? (I don't know how to initiate such action). John Hamilton (talk) 14:44, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi Oldfaw, and thanks for leaving me a message with your concerns. A block can not occur yet, as the IP has not caused enough disruption to warrant one at this time. The last edit that the IP made before their edit to Ralph Vaughan Williams was on February 9. If this user continues to be disruptive, you can file a report at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. This is the proper channel that everyone goes through in order to report a user and have them blocked. However, the account or IP has to have caused enough disruption and be warned a sufficient amount of times first (depending on how extreme the damage is, the "cutoff" varies). I highly recommend that you read Wikipedia's blocking policy before reporting anybody, so that you'll know when the right time is to do so. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them. Happy editing! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 14:55, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Volodymyr the Great

Because Volodymyr it's a Ukrainian name not (Vladimir) he was Kyivan prince, Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine. So I added changes in the page, and also change Kiev into Kyiv (because this is the correct transliteration from Ukrainian language) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.45.140.2 (talk) 15:36, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

  • (talk page stalker) It doesn't matter what the modern day transliteration of the name is from the Ukrainian language since Vladimir the Great ruled Kievan Rus, a country that predates the country of Ukraine by 1,000 years and the Ukrainian language by 500 years. The only transliterations that matter are from Old East Slavic and Old Norse, the languages spoken in Kievan Rus and by Vladimir the Great. You can spell the name any way you want on the Ukrainian language Wikipedia, but here, on the English language Wikipedia, we use the common name in English, i.e. Vladimir. • With the text "Erected by Ukrainians in Great Britain" clearly written on the foundation of the statue, plus the totally anachronistic claim that Vladimir was "ruler of Ukraine", a country that didn't exist until a thousand years later. So the spelling of the name on that statue has nothing whatsoever to do with what is in common use in the English speaking world. We use Vladimir the Great, Kiev and so on, and will continue to do so until the common names in English language media have changed, which with all probability will take many years (after many hundreds of years Wien is still Vienna in English, København still Copenhagen, Roma still Rome and Moskva still Moscow; just to name a few of the hundreds if not thousands of foreign language names that are different in English compared to in their original languages). Wow, today is obviously not my day! Thanks for letting me know about what I managed to do. I think what happened was that I had an older revision open on my browser, and edited the page without realizing that it was old. That's the only way that I can explain how I managed to pull that magnificent display of utter stupidity. Quite a performance! Anyways, everything should be good to go now :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 19:37, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
I hate it when that happens. It's like a race to type something in at ANI before STOP! Black flag! Go find your stuff among 86 TB of text and re-add it because somebody said six words way the hell up at the top of the page about something you couldn't care less about, but they won the typing contest. You'd think as smart as the devs are that they'd figure out a way to kill edit conflicts outside the same section. But no - we're building a Knowledge Engine. /rant Thanks for dealing with it. You're a good egg. :-) Katietalk 19:49, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
