Frequently visited pages and constructed links[edit]

Round-robin move checklist[edit]

Pre-move:

  1. Check redirect revisions
  2. Check move protections
  3. Check sub-pages

Post-move (as needed):

  1. Fix double-redirects
  2. Fix file and template-namespace direct links (fair use rationales, navboxes)
  3. For newly red-linked talk page / subpages: if it has incoming links, create redirect
  4. Fix talk-page archiving
  5. Fix lede / hatnote / DISPLAYTITLE / DEFAULTSORT
  6. Direct links on disambiguation pages / update hatnotes on similar pages
  7. Move editnotices

Examples

  • Example 1. Page has talk, no archives/subpages, no editnotice, no auto-archiving. Swapped with a single redirect with no talk/subpages. No lede change, no DISPLAYTITLE/DEFAULTSORT changes, no file fair use update.
  • Example 2 with talk page archiving + Special:Diff/726544151. Page has talk and 2 archive pages, no editnotice. Swapped with a single redirect with no talk/subpages. Redirect subpages were created and targeted in advance before the round-robin move. Talk archiving by ClueBot III needed to be fixed. No lede change, no DISPLAYTITLE/DEFAULTSORT changes, no file fair use update.
  • Example 3 on a featured article with a lot of incoming links. Featured article has talk, a good-article subpages, no editnotice, no auto-archiving. Swapped with a single redirect with no talk/subpages. Redirect subpages were created and targeted in advance before the round-robin move. Links on templates and portals were corrected, including on Wikipedia's featured articles page.
  • Example 4 involving dab and file fair use. Page has talk, no subpages, no editnotice, no archiving. Target page used to be a disambiguation page. Target page (dab) has talk. Dab notices needed to be removed. 1 file fair use update.
  • Example 5 sample of 10 complete round-robin moves in 8 minutes (AWB for redirect retargeting). No need to create newly redlinked talk pages for the most part (i.e. Talk:White Yam) since nothing linked to them. No subpages, no archiving, no editnotices, no file links, no template links, no editnotices.
  • Example 6 of portal swap. Subject and talk page swaps handled separately. 176 (>100) subpages, needed two requests. Swap made acceptable redlinks – some incoming redirects from "Portal:Agropedia" and subpages deliberately not corrected (no incoming links/transclusions otherwise). Root page transclusions fixed, template direct links. No editnotice, no archiving. John or Reading followed up with category move for the sake of completeness.
