Bshp

QPQ needs to be provided within 7 days of nominating. This was nominated over 40 days ago. I suggest we close this unless a QPQ turns up forthwith. Schwede66 19:48, 21 June 2023 (UTC)

ALT1: ... that bshp changed her stage name from Gabriella Vixen because she wanted a fresh start?
ALT2: ... that bshp's first record was cut after she demonstrated a track for Rita Ora?
ALT3: ... that four different records by bshp have been used on Love Island?
ALT4: ... that bshp has performed at Loud LDN events?--Launchballer 17:18, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
  • @Launchballer: Most of those ALTs are pretty pedestrian as well. ALT3 holds the most promise out of the five, but perhaps you can make an ALT5 out of the fact that one of her songs appearing on Love Island got her the Island deal? (Also for the benefit of non-Brits, mention in the hook that Love Island is a dating game show). DigitalIceAge (talk) 18:04, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
ALT5: ... that use of bshp's "Kissing You" on the British dating show Love Island got her signed to Island Records? (The hook is snappier without the word 'game'.) --Launchballer 18:16, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
@Launchballer: Better, but I just realized that the Wonderland interview cited doesn't mention Island Records at all. None of the sources I could find make explicit the connection between the song's fame and her signing to Island. There's this source which kind of implies it, but it's annoying that I can't find a source that clinches the connection.
I would cite the aforementioned source in the article and make an ALT6 along the lines of after her cover of "Kissing You" on Love Island became a breakout hit, she got signed to Island? Or something like that. DigitalIceAge (talk) 18:45, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
I suspect I may have rejected that source initially due to it claiming that she changed her name after signing, which - per Wonderland and Spotify - isn't true.
ALT6: ... that after bshp's "Kissing You" was used on the British dating show Love Island, Island Records signed her?--Launchballer 19:28, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
Approve ALT6. DigitalIceAge (talk) 19:54, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
