New material without sources[edit]

User:JColedan, User:K Stress, User:Sorjing, and User:Jericcarobison seem to be Oudin-coil-specific WP:SPAs, as they are new editors who have been pumping up this article with unsourced details. Some of these details might be worth including, if they could be contextualized and backed up by sources. The detail of seven turns in the primary, for example, must be some particular Oudin coil, not a general property of Oudin coils. I invite one of more of them to please explain here what's going on, and where this material is coming from, so we can do something more constructive than just reverting them. I agree with all of the above. This stuff is confused, disorganized, amateurishly written, unsourced, with a lot of errors. There are plenty of old books on Google Books which describe Oudin coils. --ChetvornoTALK 05:22, 1 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite[edit]

Inspired by the above, completely rewrote and expanded article, with proper sources.
