Specifically Chinese and Caucasian?

How can one be specifically Caucasian, I mean, is her heritage specifically from the Caucasus? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.238.237.233 (talk) 23:13, 27 October 2008 (UTC) Hmm, Also, mentioning shes SPECIFICALLY Chinese, when not listing her specific caucasion back ground, dosnt seem to flow well at all,

I don't think her white heritage is in the public domain other than being caucasian. Her father is presumably a white American.- (User) Wolfkeeper (Talk) 16:11, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Then how is that specific? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.238.237.233 (talk) 15:01, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Help me out here people, how is Caucasian specific? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.238.237.233 (talk) 17:27, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
It's not specific at all. How is "white American" a heritage? Consider the inverse as a hypothetical. Would we be saying "she's Irish from her father and Oriental from her mother"? Or are we saying that "white folk" just don't matter? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.84.26.82 (talk) 00:20, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
My issue isn't a "white people dont count" thing its a "its not specific" thing. if well, its specific Chinese on her mothers side and White on her fathers side isn't well, specific, its vague. When we learn the ethnicity of both her father and her mother then we can say its "specifically". "Olivia's favrote numbers are 4 and a positive interiger" isnt specific at all. If the post said "specifically her mother is Asian and her father is an Irish American who grew up at 1234 Main Street in New York City, in New York State, The United States, On Earth, in the Sol System that is in the Gould Belt in the Orion Arm of the Milky Way that is apart of the Milky Way Galaxy, in the Virgo Supercluster, Its still not specific, unless we know where her mother was raised as well.

Background Chinese or Japanese

Is her mixed heritage Chinese or Japanese? Another wiki source she has Chinese heritage, but she grew up in Japan... ? Intranetusa 01:10, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

She is Japanese. I was watching an episode of Attack of the Show and she was saying she is Japanese. Please correct that on her page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djkao (talkcontribs) 22:48, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

She grew up in Japan, but it's not clear she's Japanese. IMDb isn't really trustworthy, but there is says Chinese. Gimmetrow 17:37, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Its madness. Shes of Chinese heritage, but JAPANESE! Thats impossible, its like... if some one was of Irish heritage... and was born in America... would that make them... AMERICAN... That would imply that a persons nationality, is biased on where there born, and has little to do with those who came before them... madness
We all know that you can be of a diffrent race than the country you grew up in right? That's how we get, for example, Italian Americans

She once told Anna David she was Guatamalan after Anna made a statement about her being Japanese. Anna seemed completely befuddled, which I think was the point. You can't take anything Ms. Munn says on the show at face value.75.90.144.52 (talk) 04:33, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

WTF?

--Munn is presently dating Formula D competitor Tanner Foust. During G4's airing of the 2006 Formula D event at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Foust's fellow Formula D competitor, Tyler McQuarrie, playfully teased Munn after he had knocked Foust out of the competition, stating at the beginning of the interview, "Sorry I knocked out your boyfriend."

Who is moki?..and they probalby aren't that awesome..and olivia just said herself on tv that the article was almost entirely right....but she isn't marrying kevin..

Good Job

Please lock her page people are posting sick comments also I doubt she would want it known she is not single

Finally they did PEOPLE STOP BEING STUPID N00BS IT'S NOT COOL TO MESS WITH STUFF LIKE THAT.

Did it ever occur to you that posting something on here that you claim Olivia doesn't want people knowing might not be the brightest moment in your life? Anyway it's pretty clear she isn't if you watch the show. Anna David has given that away a couple of times during the segment "In Your Pants" so I don't see why Olivia would have a problem with people knowing. It's not as if Paparazzi are going to be swarming her now.--InnerRise 01:10, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

I think he is talking about the "boyfriend" thing

That's weird--she and Kevin were off of AOTS for two weeks. I think they were doing something for g4 in Hawaii...Anyway, jokingly Chris Hardwick said that "Kevin and Olivia were off making a baby." I know this was just for shits and gigs but when they returned on April 5 2010, Olivia appears to be wearing a diamond ring. 24.115.1.69 (talk) 12:37, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

New picture

I think this article is in need of a new picture, this one is kinda out-dated and it is...well, i am not gonna say but if you look at her chest you might see why a new pic is due, no offence.Tubyboulin 02:11, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

What year?

Article states Olivia Munn appeared in the February issue of Playboy. Would that be 2007, 2006, or what? Would someone that has accurate information, please update that section. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 4.242.156.47 (talk) 23:12, 11 May 2007 (UTC).

Boyfriend?

It has been said that Bryan Greenberg Is dating Olivia Munn. On Bryan Greenberg's page it also says he's dating Olivia Munn. If Wikipedia is suppose to be a encyclopedia of information I belive that either her page should say she's dating Bryan Greenberg or his page should be editied without her. It's not fair to mislead readers into thinking she single just to give the illusion that she is obtainable to further her career. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dodger40 (talkcontribs) 18:29, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

If you think it's that important, put it in the article yourself with a proper reference. I couldn't find any indication that the two were dating on either of their MySpace pages, his official site, or his LiveJournal. ~ Hibana 11:19, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Eh? Its pretty much a known fact. But there is scare information because of their "not so public relationship". The best we can come up with is the Howard Stern Show(3-19-07) when Bryan's friend mentions Bryan dating a girl from G4, the fact that she has him as #1 on her myspace, the fact that shes been seen with him on her July 26, 2009 vacation to Europe, and the fact that there are many pics and vids of them together. Pic any of those, but if not at the least you should add, "there are rumours of her dating Bryan Greenberg".Mwarriorjsj7 (talk) 20:54, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

apparently she and brian greenberg broke up back in late aug or early september. she was seen with chris pine in west virginia while he was filming "the unstoppable." there was even a pic of the two posted on twitter although not a great one. the person who took the pic said it was her. it's being reported by numerous media outlets that they began dating in october. but like i said no credible pic or any credible reference other than tab reports. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wimpy77 (talkcontribs) 07:55, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

Anonymous protest comment

So... what? Is she stupid or just completely uninformed on the topics she's reporting?

Just curious. --StevenFurtado (talk) 09:23, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

If you're being genuine, that is disagreeing with the credibility of her 'journalism' then I totally agree with you. I think she's a complete tool. She knows nothing about the crap G4 pretends to care about. But I guess it really doesn't matter. Ratings are ratings, right? Arghcodie (talk) 00:30, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
She sounds reasonably intelligent when she talks. I'm not sure how much she knows or cares about the stuff G4 asks her to present, but then again, neither do most people. Just because she is pretty, that doesn't automatically make her stupid. --Eastlaw talk ⁄ contribs 02:38, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Image

The image has recently been replaced by what appears to be an incorrectly licensed screen capture of Munn with a grimace. I went ahead and reverted it. Thoughts? --TeaDrinker (talk) 12:23, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

There's no reason to change the current photo, esp. if the existing one is properly licensed. It's not up to us to choose a photo that "has more relevance to her life" as one of the editors who are attempting to change the image remarked. Let's keep this NPOV. freshacconci talktalk 12:54, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Birth date?

July 0? 98.14.15.12 (talk) 01:29, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Yep. Most everywhere says July 2, but that doesn't seem to be recorded in any reliable source. People regularly change that to July 3, but fail to say where that comes from. Gimmetrow 02:35, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

July 0 Isn't a valid date, it's best to record a valid date in the article at the very least. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fatcandle (talkcontribs) 09:28, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm changing her birthdate to July 3, 1980 based on this date being used on IMDB. I haven't seen other references to another date (I searched some, although not thoroughly). While IMDB isn't perfect, it is reliable enough of a source to use unless something better can be found. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mantisia (talkcontribs) 17:51, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Heroes

Didn't I see her on one of those mini episodes of Heroes with Masi Oka (Hiro). I don't remember the details, but I seem to remember Masi Oka doing all these good deeds then Olivia giving him her number at the end. This article lacks something that's essential for a biographic article. A birth date. And her age. However, I can see wikipedians have found some trouble with finding out her birth date and her age. She twice competed in the Japanese game show "Sasuke" better known in America as "Ninja Warrior". Attack of the Show clothing

It should be noted somewhere in the bio that Olivia's popularity really soared when she was seen Attack of the Show wearing low rise jeans. During 2006 and early 2007 she was always wearing low jeans (Frankie B. jeans brand) and cropped tops that showed her midriff. Co-stars, notably Wil O'neal, would often comment on her signature low rise jeans look. Evidence can be seen on older episodes of the show. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Soadpunk54 (talkcontribs) 04:31, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

I'm not being defensive; I'd make the exact same point if it was someone else who forgot to change the caption. News is current, an encyclopedia states the facts. The word "currently" shoudln't almost never appear in Wikipedia. This article talks about her "new" role, which is not new. Things in encyclopedias are almost never new and it is really bad writing to say that. This is the same crap that Wikipedia FAILS at all the time. Wikipedia already has rules telling people to write in the present tense, already has rules recommending peolpe to write NOTNEWS and I'm if this article wasn't locked it might try to fix it. But this article is locked and I can't fix it, the same way when I had an account I couldn't fix people deleting good content, over and over again. I wish it was better but the system is set up in favor of people deleting things. Spelling and grammar checking could be be encouraged, but it is not. I applaud your optimism but I see the same mistakes over and over again and articles likes this are (from my point of view) _arbitrarily_ locked so I can't even try to fix them. Locking policies are unclear and inconsistent. Automation policies are weak. Maybe these things will not change but maybe could the people who have accounts please fix this article and bring it up to the standards Wikipedia claims. -- 109.76.185.137 (talk) 02:49, 25 August 2012 (UTC)

Jezebel

The inclusion of the opinion of a blogger from Jezebel is not important and biased. It is probably there to raise the profile of the blog for Internet Searches. If it was important, it would need to be balanced against opinions that supported her hiring by The Daily Show. The sentences should be removed. 114.245.205.122 (talk) 17:26, 26 July 2013 (UTC)

'"It is probably there to raise the profile of the blog for Internet Searches."
How exactly did you come to the conclusion this was the more "probable" motive? How do you know that the editors who added it didn't sincerely think that it was relevant and valid for inclusion?
The first addition of that material came from an editor named The lorax, and I added what became the second half of that paragraph myself not long thereafter. I can't speak for The lorax, but I added the material that I did because it was not only relevant material found in a secondary source, but prompted a response from Munn and the show staff themselves, so omitting it did not seem appropriate. I have zero interest in raising that profile's blog or any other blog, nor could I imagine why I'd want to, since I don't agree with that author's viewpoint.
Please familiarize yourself with what an ad hominem argument is, and with Wikipedia's Assume Good Faith policy. Making false accusations upon other editors, without any attempt to illustrate it with evidence or reasoning, is a violation of it. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 04:24, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
