Rebecca Housel[edit]

Hi. Thanks for your participating in improving the Rebecca Housel article. However, I reverted your removal of the official site link and the Wikimedia Commons link, which you did with the rationale "Delete self-promotion (the link she added to her own website)" for the following reasons:

First, Housel didn't add the link to her website to the External links section, I did. While she may have cited a page or pages from her site as a source in the article body (which depending on the material, may have indeed been a no-no), I added the link to her site's main page because it is standard practice for biographical articles to have a link to the subject's official site in the EL section, as it is not considered promotional.
Second, Wikimedia Commons is not part of Housel's website. It's a sister site to Wikipedia, and is owned by the Wikimedia Foundation, the same non-profit organization that owns Wikipedia. The files on Housel's category page (all but one of which were uploaded by me) are free-licensed images that are uploaded in order to provide a free resource to users, much as Wikipedia's mission to provide a free encyclopedia. I'm guessing that this may have been a simple error on your part, but I wasn't sure.
