Untitled[edit]

Why is the "westernmost and southernmost stations" part unneeded? It's at least slightly interesting, which is more than the rest of the article can hope to achieve, given the dry nature of the subject. (I got it off the official website.) Are there guidelines somewhere that somehow recommend against it? I'm restoring it for the time being. -- Minivet 05:03, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • i find it a little unneeded mostly becase of it's wordage, the map i dl easily shows the difference, but i don't mind either way. Sqkvii 07:59, 21 Jun 2005
    • Well, you can tell from the map that those are the westernmost and southernmost stations in the system, but you have to put that together with the fact that Okinawa is the westernmost and southernmost island in Japan that has any rail to get the information in that paragraph. I could take out the specification of which stations they are exactly, but that feels somehow... a little less encyclopedic. Specification is good, say I. Minivet 03:43, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)
      • could you reword it then for me then, i think it sounds a little strange, clarification is good i think.(^.^)b Sqkvii 06:15, 23 Jun 2005

Yuirail: history and future[edit]

The article fails to investigate the origins of Yuirail. Although it opened in 2003 during the governorship of Inamine Keiichi, its origins, of course, lie many years prior to that time. I would like to know during whose governorship and premiership it was initiated, what policy factors were involved, whether it was yet one more project concession made to Okinawa to placate local opinion against the background of the huge social burden of the U.S. military presence, and, if so, in answer to which specific incident or category of pressure.

Furthermore, I would like to be informed of current planning regarding its extension beyond Shuri Station. It is clear that it will proceed down the Ishimine main shopping street which is being widened for its accommodation, and for some years hoardings have been posted in Nishihara illustrating a putative route through that town. Within the foreseeable future what is contemplated as being its terminus? 119.150.139.55 (talk) 04:21, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

About station names[edit]

In December 2015, Okinawa Urban Monorail announced that some station's English name will be renamed:

source: [1]

After that, almost every information or official websites are using the new English name. For example:

https://www.yui-rail.co.jp/en/faretable.html
[2], [3], [4], [5]
https://www.yui-rail.co.jp/yuirail/about - LCD information in trains

Therefore, the article title of these stations should be changed.--Y-route (talk) 06:13, 9 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • No opposite comments, so I moved 3 pages to the new name, except Naha Airport Station.(→WP:RMT) --Y-route (talk) 09:27, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
