Nafessa Williams[edit]

This actress was confirmed on the show and aired several times on the series. No publications ever confirmed her off the series. [1] Lists the character originally as Candance in a recurring, possible contract role. And then [2] lists her as joining the cast. Musicfreak7676 my talk page! 00:34, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 30 July 2012[edit]

I'd like this to be added: {{DISPLAYTITLE:List of ''The Bold and the Beautiful'' cast members}}. The Bold and the Beautiful is a TV show, so it should be italicized in the title.

Info Deletion[edit]

Can we discuss some of the recent deletions from this page? I don't think the deceased cast members or celebrity appearances should be deleted. Also I think the durations should have stayed on the current contract members, so that you don't lose the historical info of characters that leave and come back. Can we put these sections back until we reach consensus? Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 02:47, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, celebrities guest appearances do not join a cast of a series, so no, they have no relevance to this article what-so-ever. It is entitled List of The Bold and the Beautiful cast members for a reason. I think a separate article for such a thing would be a good idea, as I've seen it done in the past. Duration is a time in which something occurs. They are still a part of the cast, so they cannot have said duration. The date they first appeared on the show is information enough. As for the deceased members, seriously? Statυs (talk) 02:49, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
So once someone dies that means they're no longer a former cast member? And celebrity appearances bring real-world context to the article. And to explain my rationale on duration, if someone was on from 1980-99, left, came back in 2007-present, the current layout would just have their first appearance and wouldn't show the period they left.
I'm just asking for you to hold off and wait for other soap editors to comment and reach consensus. If my opinion is not the majority then by all means go ahead. It's just my opinion that the article will lose a lot of the historical info. Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 02:55, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Check the article again for the former cast members who are deceased; they are still in the article. There was a separate section made to state that they died and one. Nothing to do with the article what-so-ever. As for when somebody left, that information can be found in their separate article. There's a reason those exist, you know. Stating the date they first appeared and the date they last appeared is clear and concise. And again, this is a cast article, the fact that a celebrity made a random appearance has nothing to do with the cast; they were never a cast member of the series. I don't imagine anybody would agree that that information is relevant to the article. Statυs (talk) 03:02, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree and just think you should wait for consensus before deleting entire sections. Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 03:07, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is an ongoing request for comment relating to the relevance of some of the types of content at issue in this article. See: Wikipedia_talk:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Verifiable_future_events_with_no_real_world_impact_yet. -- The Red Pen of Doom 03:39, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I do agree that celebrity appearances shouldn't be on this list, they're not apart of the "Cast". I think that there should be a duration instead of first appearance...it's easier..we don't need to know specifically their first dates on the show, but more about how long they have been on...It's easier to have a slight overview on their duration rather then just going to their individual pages...but then again, I'm not fussed on this. Per Status, they are still apart of the cast; and generally what I (personally) look for in this list is those who have been on from the longest to shortest amount of time... Things are looking much more neater on this page, though, since the last time I saw it; compared to say this, it's on a good path. Also, can someone tell me..i was wondering why these sources are used....in the past, people have reached consensus that Soaps.sheknows.com shouldn't be used as a source. I disagree with that, but that's just what people have said. Thanks! —ArreJLover 11:39, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
My main concern with the duration section is that for those who left and came back again, it stretches out the table and looks odd in comparison to ones who never left the show. Here's an idea, how about making a note beside "first appearance" and note any times that they left the show and returned? For example, "Jacob Young portrayed the role of Rick Forrester from 1997 to 1999 and returned to the role on September 26, 2011." Maybe also note about the replacement thing, so people don't just think that Rick wasn't a part of the show. Zac  15:26, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As for the issue of using Sheknows.com; where was that discussion? The website appears to be reputable and it's not user edited; I don't see a problem. Zac  15:34, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Re: sources, I've heard the same thing about some sources not being reliable when referencing cast lists, but I don't know the reasoning or if there is a list or anything. If it's true, it'd be great to have a list at WP:SOAPS to reference.
  • Re: duration, I think using notes might turn out to be cumbersome for actors that have come and gone a lot. But my experience is mainly with the GH cast page so may work for you here. Just not sure what would need to be formatted similarly on other pages for consistency.
  • Re: celebs - again my experience and opinion is from the GH page so may be different here, but I wouldn't want the GH celebs deleted since I've sourced a lot of them as there was press regarding them, which I think warrants being included. If other pages can stay as-is if the content works then that works for me.
  • Re: everything - sorry this convo got off to a bad start - I do think some of the reformatting is great and might try it at the GH page too. Just weary about deleting some of the info on such long lists, and how it translates to other similar pages.

Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 01:42, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't really matter if it stretches out the table... to be honest, I think that duration would be better, to show how long they have been apart of the cast..but...yea.. This is why I think there should be a current character list instead of this page. The character's first appearance could be included and also the actors who have played them..just a thought. Well it hasn't been one discussion about She Knows Soaps. But I agree with you, that it should be used. Celebrities aren't apart of the cast and don't belong here. —ArreJLover 06:17, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Duration would work perfectly fine for those are no longer part of the cast, but as I said before, there can't be a duration in which they were on the show if they are still currently on it. A note can simply be used for times they left and then returned. I'm still sort of deciding how to get this page together. Let me just say that, just because one article looks one way, doesn't mean another has to look another. I'm working on one article (I know that Soap editors seem to work on each one). If you like ideas of it, cool, take some inspiration from that, but don't feel obliged to have to have each article the same. Zac  14:47, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Umm.. Yes there can be...2000-present is a duration .... Also, it's not about being the same it's just about consistency.. —ArreJLover 06:27, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Did you come to any decision about deceased cast members? I couldn't see that you have reached consensus about removing it. After all it was only one user who thought it should be deleted and he is not even active on wikipedia anymore. IMO the section should be put back. DrKilleMoff (talk) 14:44, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

cast changes[edit]

I agree that "comings and goings" was stupid and shouldn't have been there, but shouldn't there be something regarding cast changes? I was looking here at this article, I really like the way it is done; without the "goings" aspect. Maybe something like this should be adapted on this page...I don't know though..just a thought. —ArreJLover 12:26, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It would work fine for upcoming cast members who already don't have entries, but to duplicate ones that are already in the article (Ridge, Stephanie and Deacon) is stupid. Zac  15:22, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What's the reasoning behind including "comings" and not "goings"? Am I reading the list correctly now (not familiar with B&B characters) that Frank and Morgan Gingerich and Gina Rodriguez are the "goings" and are currently on the show but leaving? And/or the "goings" are the two in the main cast with notes? Is there a clean way to have the reference right in the note or linked somehow? The sourcing is part of what we're struggling with on the RfC page. Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 01:48, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Like Zach stated, it isn't needed to duplicate people already there. Once their gone, they are gone. I never said anything about duplicating or including "going" anyway. —ArreJLover 06:19, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ricky Paull Goldin[edit]

Adam Gregory/Thomas Forrester B&B[edit]

Adam Gregory (Thomas Forrester needs to be removed from the list of cast members from B&B since he left the show three months ago, and be put into the former list of B&B cast members instead! — Preceding unsigned comment added by CBRVA (talkcontribs) 21:08, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I understand however we cant not removed anyone from that list until we have references/sources to prove it, so far there is no sources open to do so. That how Wikipedia works.  — SoapFan12 (talk, contribs) 21:51, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Adam Gregory, Kristolyn Lloyd and Texas Battle[edit]

It's confirmed in an interwiew that this 3 charachter are in recurring now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bold12 (talkcontribs) 22:34, 18 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No confirmation that Texas or Kristolyn were downgraded to recurring. Only one was Adam. So unless you can provide a source for this, we cannot make the change. livelikemusic my talk page! 14:13, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

They are no longer credited in the closing credits, neither is Winsor Harmon who has been recurring for years ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.219.16.171 (talk) 20:40, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, opeining and closing credits were, are and will never be a reliable source. There are sources that claim that Kristolyn is in fact in reccuring therefore we have the right to put her in the Reccuring section however there is none for Texas and Winsor therefore we will leave them in the cast members section. Sorry but that how Wiki works, we can change anything without RELIABLE sources. In conclusion, I ask you kindly not to change it and I hope you understand.  — SoapFan12 (talk, contribs) 22:15, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, we do have NO sources claiming Winsor is back on contract. Last report we got, he was taken off contract. No report ever claimed he was put back on, but people just assumed he was since he was put into the opening. Only Kristolyn and Adam are confirmed on recurring. livelikemusic my talk page! 14:58, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Texas Battle should be removed. He is no longer billed in the opening OR closing credits and has not appeared in months. And yes, the credits ARE a reliable source. 49.197.20.56 (talk) 03:57, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, no, the credits are not a reliable source. Nor are they third-party. No report has been given as to Battle's status on the series, and until a creditable one is given, he remains under contract status on the list to ensure Wikipedia remains encyclopedic. livelikemusic my talk page! 19:56, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Credits are the most reliable source. Posting blatant misinformation is unencyclopedic. There is no credible source stating he is still with the show either. 49.197.17.7 (talk) 02:08, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You're wrong, credits are NOT reliable. They constantly mis-spell a cast member's name and are not a third-party source. You're just doing this to cause a stir. Show's never comment on a person's contract unless they've been removed or newed. His character is not in a storyline right now, so airtime is down. It's a 30 minute soap opera, not one hour. livelikemusic my talk page! 02:21, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Again, do you have any evidence to back up what you're saying about Battle still being on contract? And no, I am not doing this to cause a stir as I have better things to do with my time. 101.165.67.199 (talk) 00:19, 14 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The evidence is in the source given, and I find it probable, especially since your IP's keep changing, which may be a formality. And I do believe you ARE doing this to cause a stir to promote what fans believe to be fact over fiction. Wikipedia does not report speculation. livelikemusic my talk page! 01:03, 14 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sigh. I give up. I can only assume you are a huge fan of Texas Battle (and non-fan of Tristan Rogers) which is why you insist on littering these articles with your own wishful thinking rather than the facts according to the shows themselves and common sense. People looking for accurate information on these shows will just have to go to fan sites. Perhaps when Battle and his character have not been seen or heard from in 5 years, you'll believe it. 49.195.35.92 (talk) 01:56, 14 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It is kind of appalling at how long this article insists on providing incorrect information regarding Texas Battle. The actor last appeared on October 17, 2013, has since been removed from the credits, and it makes it over 5 full months since he was dropped, but someone persists on keeping him there. What is happening here? 93.136.10.98 (talk) 11:03, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Removing castmembers[edit]

Andres Zuno as Rafael has not made an appearance on the soap since August 27, 2013, he should be remove from the recurring cast list. Also, Tigerlily and Ginger Siler who portrayed Rosie Forrester (Marcus Forrester and Amber Moore's daughter), has not appeared on the soap in two years since Amber's last appearance on the show, so therefore they should be removed too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Actor2014 (talkcontribs) 23:16, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It has been almost a full year since Andres Zuno appeared, a full year since Jon Hensley appeared, and a year and a half since the Siler twins and Rodney Saulsberry appeared, so please remove them from the list. Is it really in Wikipedia's interest to continuously report false info? Roadwayhymn (talk) 09:17, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cast members: regular and recurring[edit]

In the regular cast, remove Jennifer Gareis as Donna Logan because she's not part of the show anymore and add Felisha Cooper as Sasha because she made her first appareance on December 14, 2015 and it's confirm, from B&B's website, that she is a regular member of the show. In the recurring cast, remove Dayzee, Rafael, Madison, Theresa, Darla because they are not in the show anymore and they are NOT recurring characters. 93.47.53.1 (talk) 13:51, 19 December 2015 (UTC)Bold1293.47.53.1 (talk) 13:51, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jacob Young[edit]

Hey! This issue has bothered me for months - Jacob Young has not appeared since May 2018 and thus to say that his duration is 1997–1999, 2011–present is wrong as he he did not appear in 2019 (and to say 2011–2018, 2020 would also be incorrect as he hasn't appeared in 2020 either). This is the same with Brown, who has not appeared since March 2018. I think they should be moved to the previous cast members section and should be readded if they reappar. I know that they are on recurring but they have not appeared since 2018, and the soap opera often moves cast members to recurring that never appear again (such as Whipple Jones and Amber Moore, who were moved to recurring but never made an appearance). In British soap operas, recurring cast members are moved if they have not appeared in a year (and now this has changed to 6 months) and I think this could be beneficial here, or at least until the end of the following year that they last appeared in (e.g. if a character made their last appearance in May 2019, they should be removed as soon as 2021 starts), especially as Tylo and the actress of Maya Avant haven't appeared since March and May 2019 respectively. DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 21:30, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Per the sourced content on the main page, they are recurring. There are no third-party sources that state they are no longer recurring in their roles. Unfortunately, Wikipedia does not speculate, even though fans know that once you're on recurring on this soap, you are, effectively, out. But, Wikipedia does not care about the speculation. Even in published magazines (such as Soap Opera Digest), they are all referred to as being in these roles (meaning, "ex" is not next to the role: ie -- "ex-Rick, B&B"), which most published magazines would do if an actor were out of their roles. As such, Jacob Young has continued to state he is recurring, and willing to appear if-and-or-when he is needed. livelikemusic (TALK!) 22:53, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that - however, saying 2011–present is factually incorrect, so perhaps it should be changed to 2011–2018? As otherwise it is factually incorrectDaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 00:12, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

But that would insinuate he isn't a cast member any longer, and, he technically still is. This is a cast list, not a character list, so, in technicality, it is factual. livelikemusic (TALK!) 00:35, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
