ONG & ONG is a Singaporean industrial design, architecture, and urban planning firm. It was first established in 1972 by Ong Teng Cheong and his wife Ling Siew May.[3]

Headquartered in Singapore, the company maintains its presence across various Asian countries such as China, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mongolia, and Thailand.[4]

History[edit]

The company was founded in 1972 as Ong & Ong Architects & Town Planners. It was incorporated in 2007 as ONG & ONG Private Limited.[5]

In 2001, Ong's youngest son Ong Tze Boon became the Group Executive Chairman of the company. In July 2021, a legal dispute concerning shareholdings in the holding company controlling the architectural business, established by their parents, surfaced between Ong's two sons.[2][6] The dispute was subsequently resolved through mediation in October 2021.[7][8]

In 2010, Ashvinkumar Kantilal assumed the role of Group Chief Executive Officer at ONG & ONG.[9]

In August 2012, Singapore Airlines appointed ONG & ONG to develop a new design concept for their airport lounges across the world.[10]

In 2022, ONG & ONG was named among the Top 25 Architecture Firms by an art and design platform Archello.[11]

In 2023, BCI Central nominated ONG & ONG for BCI Asia Top 10 Awards, that is awarded to developers and architecture firms with greatest aggregate value of projects under construction during the preceding full calendar year.[12]
