Just a helpful reminder, for images like File:Photo of Aileen Rose Dent.jpg, which is derived from this image on Commons, it's best to keep all such images on Wikimedia Commons, as long as they are still Free to use. Having images on Commons allows them to be seen and used by a greater number of projects, as well as more efficient sorting, curation, and cross-project management. The only reasons to upload images "locally" (i.e. English Wikipedia) would be fair-use, non-free images, per Non-free content (Commons cannot host fair-use images), or images that are public domain in the U.S. but not their country of origin (see Commons:Licensing, and an example here). No matter who took the photograph, the original painting is still in copyright. The painting was made in 1939 by Aileen Dent (1890–1978). Australian copyright applies for 70 years post death of creator (unless they died before 1955), excepting photographs taken before 1955 (per PD-Australia)

Hi - I noticed that you replaced an ill link to the French Wikipedia article on Joseph Saint-Charles by a direct link to the French article from the Agnès Lefort article. The advantage of the ill link is that it provides a red link for a potential new English article about Joseph Saint-Charles as well as linking to the corresponding French article. If an English article is created, then the link to the French article will go away automatically and only a link to the English article will appear. Thanks for putting this on your to-think-about list Carptrash. I am trying to untie the Gordian Knot of which women artists were exhibited at the Woman's Building v. the Palace of Fine Arts. It makes my head hurt. The congresses looks to be the same type of situation. I am taking my time, trying not to get too frustrated. I was pretty surprised that there wasn't an existing page for The Woman's Building and it took me about 6 months to get my slim article ready for posting. I have been combing Revisiting the White City: American Art at the 1893 World's Fair looking for that same information and am finding it frustrating going. Which is to say, "Zip useful info." However I have been interested in this for a while, I started the Alice Rideout article half a decade ago and am glad to have a co-editor to encourage me. My illness is an acute (and for me, rare) case of alcohol poisoning so I'll pull out just fine. I have several 1893 publication on the fair that are not well indexed but which might shed some light on who did what, where. Weinman has a discussion about women sculptors who did not want to be separated from the males (the term "sculptress" get dropped shortly there after - though will still surface occasionally) that I think will be useful. Small world Carptrash, I added an infobox to Alice Rideout when I was just starting on Wikipedia in March 1917! It sparked my interest in the Woman's Building. To clear my head, I am going to move over to women at the Palace of Fine Arts. I do have a digitize catalog of the art displayed there, so I can do some dog-work on that for awhile. I would like your opinion on two things related to that: 1. Is it wiki-correct to make a separate article on the Palace of Fine Arts, Chicago which currently redirects to Museum of Science and Industry (Chicago)? and 2. Should there be a list of just women artists exhibiting or a list of all artist exhibiting? (i.e. List of women photographers v. List of photographers). On the "business before pleasure" principal, your questions, there should (opinion) only be one article for the one building, so Palace of Fine Arts probably should redirect to the Museum of Science and Industry. The list of women artists is a . . ..... charged question. At the time (1892 or 3) several notable women artists were STRONGLY opposed to the idea of women showing separate from male artists. The tern 'sculptress" was despised. These include Hosmer, Whitney and Cassett. I think. I feel that their wishes should still be respected and that such a distinction is best not made. However on gender issues I tend to support the decisions made by the gender in question. On the pleasure side, I have the honor to mention that we have picked up a great ally in our game plan with BoringHistoryGuy - one of the great wikipedia editors., who has begun this. User:BoringHistoryGuy/sandbox. I have started something similar with sculptors, though am way behind BHG. I am attempting to convince him, and thus you, to drop the "American" aspect of this since it was an international expo and wikipedia is frequently charged with being too Amerocentric. Good afternoon Carptrash. Thanks for answering my question about the Palace of Fine Arts, Chicago. I will add any additional information about its history to the existing article on Museum of Science and Industry page. Quite right that there is only one page for an existing building. I agree with you that there should be one list for artists included in the exhibit, men, women, and all countries. If future editors want to parse out nationalities or sex that would be on them. In the true sense of equality it should be just the one list.
I looked at BoringHistoryGuy’s sandbox and it is impressive for what is shows, but not what I had in mind. I had thought about using a wikitable to present the list but feel that there are some serious drawbacks to that approach. First, names that are wikilinked have first names first. I know there are work-arounds, but still, it makes any sorting feature useless. I imagine if there were a column for “country”, that would be a useful sort, but overall, the data - a list of names - doesn’t really lend itself to a table format on wikipedia. I think it would get very long and unwieldy and I have no idea how it would look on a phone or tablet. And, as an editor who has tried to come in and edit a table, I find it hard to do.
For an idea of what I had in mind I suggest looking at List of Australian women artists and List of book arts centers. A gallery of public domain images could be added at the bottom.
I think it should be alphabetical by last name, but with a regular wikilink like the “List of Australian women artists” and instead of birth/death date it would have the artist’s nationality in parenthesis followed by type of artist.

Alternatively there could be sections either by country or media followed by the alphabetical list, the way the "List of book arts centers" is arranged.

List of American sculptors exhibited at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition but since User:BoringHistoryGuy won a well deserved Editor of the Week for creating it, to do so would be Fake News at best. However before I plunge into adding your wonderful Luella A. Varney Serrao to it, since she has at least two works in two different locations, do you know the titles of those pieces and what went where? I will look to see if I have that info, but probably not. According to Nichols, Luella A. Varney Serrao exhibited a Portrait bust of a Lady, a Portrait bust of Edith Van Buren and a Portrait bust of Mark Twain at the Palace of Fine Arts.

Ah, thanks. I am interested in the women's clubs, having come across a number of them being NRHP-listed (i mainly focus on NRHP historic sites), and having, relatedly, developed what is now List of women's club buildings, which has a bunch of redlinks. I have taken pics of several and developed short articles about quite a number. It has been interesting learning about the roles played by many of them, e.g. in many small towns to take on the founding of a Carnegie library or other important projects. It looks to me like I could add some of those redlinks to Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Clubwomen. Although that is ostensibly a list of women, the NRHP nomination documents for the clubs/buildings often/usually cover the founding women involved, and there are other clubs listed there already. BTW, I also posted at User talk:Megalibrarygirl#Template:Woman's club movement, and List of women's club buildings, in part about how I think there should be just one list of women's clubs, combining the ones that have notable buildings and those that are notable without buildings.
Okay I just added Queen Isabella Association to the template, putting it into the "national" section; feel free to move it to "Illinois" if you think that is better. The Isabellas were national, even though they were incorporated in Illinois, so I'd like to keep then in the national section.
Oh, good, I am glad you enjoy the redlinks in this area! You did great with Alamogordo Woman's Club, particularly your finding and using the "NEW MEXICO FEDERATION OF WOMEN'S CLUB BUILDINGS IN NEW MEXICO" document from the National Park Service, which is a "multiple property submission" document authored by David Kammer. An MPS document is available only sometimes, and provides background for a series of related individual listings. I have trouble reading that, cannot get it to open in Chrome browser, but find it eventually opens in Microsoft Edge browser. You'll see that I did add to the article. My main contribution is to have found and added the separate NRHP nomination document for the Alamogordo Woman's Club itself, also authored by Kammer, and accompanying photos, which are more easily readable for me by the way. I added just a few details from that to the article; please feel free to use the source more fully. I also added a bit to the NRHP infobox which you created. I am guessing you copy-pasted a NRHP infobox from another article and customised it to this place. There is a helpful tool, supported by User:Elkman, which generates already-customised NRHP infoboxes and a bit more, at http://elkman.net/nrhp/, click on "create an infobox for a given property", enter "Alamogordo" to search on. It provides a partially filled out infobox and a partially filled out NRHP nomination document reference. It only works for places listed on the NRHP from some date in 2014 on (not a problem for any of these Women's club buildings I think), and the NRHP nomination document reference doesn't work in Texas and Ohio, but does work in all the states involved here except for Ohio. I customized the reference to add the author and date of preparation, plus to report on number and date of photos. This tool helps a lot! You might think that I and other NRHP editors ought to have gotten to these women's club buildings, but there are 26,000 articles to go (see tracking at wp:NRHPPROGRESS), and it takes time and effort for each article nonetheless, even just using the NRHP nomination document as a source. Okay, further, that stirred me to revisit Silver City Woman's Club article, which was created back in 2014 by User:TheCatalyst31, and to start up Carrizozo Woman's Club article, the other two NRHP-listed women's clubs in New Mexico. I added the MPS form as a source to those, and I copied your language about them being started under "auspices" of NMFWC and hope/think that is correct, but I didn't really read the source carefully about that aspect. Sure Doncram. I will read over the MPS form(s) and also figure out what might be online about NMFWC. I am going to write an article on the founder of the Melbourne Lyceum Club before I get back to the New Mexican articles.
Now I am very interested in the Pueblo Revival Style and the NMFWC. I have seen the US Post Office-Alamogordo with its WPA murals and it is a beautiful building. I'm sorry I didn't see the Alamogordo Woman's Club when I was there.

Perhaps you took some pics of the post office? It is NRHP-listed but doesn't have an article yet, as you may know. Just to close the loop Doncram - I looked over the available information and decided that the phrase "organized under the auspices" was iffy. In some case the club may have been organized before the organization of the NMFWC. I have changed the language to "It operates under the auspices of the New Mexico Federation of Women’s Clubs". There is just too little info online to figure it out. I may drop a line to the GFWC NM to let them know that the articles are being created and ask if they can point me to some documentation of when the clubs were organized.
Regarding the Alamgordo post office, there is a photo on the commons Otero County Administration Building. The murals are by Peter Hurd and I may have some photos somewhere on my computer.

On women's clubs, I recall having been surprised/interested to learn about role of Edward Gardner Lewis in promoting women's clubs, which I saw presented as him basically stirring them along in order to make sales of magazines, and I recall having a big negative impression about it. This is reflected in lede of List of women's clubs which states
A number were built in the early 1900s as part of a scheme by publisher Edward Gardner Lewis to promote sales of Woman's Magazine,[1] but many more were independent organizations. The General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) became the primary umbrella organization of women's clubs in the United States.
It could be there were "legit volunteer women-organized ones" vs. "commercial crass male-evolent exploitative ones masquerading and mixing with the legit ones", and perhaps it would have been hard to distinguish even way back when. Perhaps Lewis' role was more mixed somehow, and perhaps the original stories I read were overblown, but since you are working hard on the general topic area I wanted to ask what you know about this. I'm browsing in the several heritage registers for Australia's separate states for women's clubs, and i find maybe a few topics of interest for the clubwomen drive. I have just been learning how to get info on the Australian registers, and have jotted a few notes with links to their search sites at wp:HSITESHELP.
There is Country Women's Association, nation-wide, to which Queensland Country Women's Association is currently a redirect. For Queensland, there are now a lot of new Wikipedia articles. The register search site gives 16 hits for "country women", i.e. of the Queensland Country Women's Association, including for:
Wonglepong QCWA Hall, in Queensland, an article which was produced mainly by copying CC-BY text. I think it could be edited to be better, dropping some of the bureaucratic text and clearly delineating what are quotes.
I think the QWCA could be broken out into a separate article probably and developed with more coverage of the QWCA historic sites. Especially as (per below) there are CWA chapters elsewhere.
Country Women's Association Rest Rooms, Denmark. Hmm, maybe the rest rooms building was itself a meeting room, or maybe they mean just informally? From here, "This building has historic, social and aesthetic heritage characteristics valued by the Denmark community. The CWA is an organisation that has been active in Denmark since 1934. It has enhanced the lives of many families in the district through times of depression, fire and war. The rooms gave rest and shelter to many women and children on shopping or market days. It has been a meeting place for many groups and organisations e.g. Child Health Sister, Kindergarten, Courts, Rural Youth, Lodge, RSL, ANZACc and Church Services. It has been used to cater for emergencies such as fires and searches. Talks of educational value are also held there. The CWA has been instrumental in supplying help to many in need and distress."
Country Women's Association, 45 Jose St Mullewa, try Country Women's Association, Mullewa, with info that "The Mullewa CWA Building has considerable social and historic significance as the meeting place for the local Mullewa Branch for nearly 70 years. The Mullewa Branch played an important role in the development of Mullewa. Further the place has aesthetic appeal for its domestic architecture, broad gable entry porch and decorative bargeboarding".
Probably could find some more by browsing further. Not sure yet what to do with any of these yet. Hmm, the List of women's club buildings so far only has U.S. examples, i could add an Australia section. Still not happy about that being a list of "buildings" rather than "clubs". There's the U.S. women's club navigation template you've been adding to, but is there another covering other countries? I would develop the heritage register stuff especially if you would like to start drafts somewhere. Then post mention to wp:AWNB after those go live. And thanks specifically for creating Dayton Women's Club nicely with several sources. It's hard to do NRHP-listed places in Ohio, because Ohio, alone, provides NRHP documents only for a fee, and the national-level systems like the National Archives don't cover the state yet. There is one private book source, an "Ohio Places Dictionary" (info within the NRHPHELP page at wp:NRHPHELPOH) but I checked and it does not cover the Dayton club. Oh, I went to check the Ohio Places Dictionary for the other women's club having a redlink, the Mansfield Woman's Club, and I figure out that Dayton is in fact covered there after all, as "Dayton Woman's Club", on page 986. However I am excluded from access to that page currently. It is a Google book, and it seems usually about half of it is available in preview mode. Perhaps your luck would be different, if you tried. Its summaries about NRHP places are pretty short, but maybe it would allow some additional info.
Also the source does cover Mansfield Woman's Club on its page 1150, but again I don't happen to get preview access. Searching on "Mansfield" yields 17 hits not including it, for me, and searching on "Mansfield W" doesn't work right because i think partial words aren't accepted. Ah, good, and glad to see some addition to the 1915 Pioneer School House (i started the article in 2012 apparently). The Anchorage Woman's Club article claims a role in the 1915 founding of the school, while the school article only mentions their involvement in later preservation. Hmm, the NRHP doc for the school mentions "In August 1915 a school board was elected to oversee the development of a school and the hiring of teachers. Its members were: A. J. Wendler, Mrs. W. T. Normile, and M. Finkelstein. / The question of who was to finance the school remained unanswered. With the interest in public education, the Women's Club was formed that first summer. Also formed that first year was the Parent-Teacher's Association." That seems mysterious about what the Women's Club role was. The NRHP doc goes on about financing before and after that passage, and mentions Mrs. W. T. Normile again, but it seems mysterious to me what the Women's Club role was exactly. Vs. the AWC article now stating "Mrs. Fredrick Mears and other women organized the Anchorage Woman’s Club in 1915 with the specific goal of establishing a school for the children of the workers building the Alaska Railroad. The women were successful in building the Pioneer School House, the first first schoolhouse in Anchorage." which seems like a fair summary of its sourc (which also mentions the WC was formed September 16, 1915), but somewhat inconsistent with the NRHP doc. Probably some credit to the WC for early involvement should be given in the PSH article, but what to say, I dunno. I give up! The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve.
