Hi, you added the cat Category:Jewish-British people to this article, do you have any reliable source stating that he is Jewish? Thanks Arniep 21:05, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

you're right! Sorry Arniep 19:03, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Passing along a messge[edit]

Could you please check out the (currently) last message on User talk:Tawker. Tawker is currently on his blackberry, which is on a blocked IP, so he can only post there. He's wanting specific diffs for your problems with Tawkerbot2 so he can figure out why they wer misidentified. - TexasAndroid

Tawkerbot2[edit]

Ok, the bot shouldn't be reverting admins, I'll have a look and I'll get in touch with Joshbuddy (the co-dev) and we will fix it (very very soon). In the future if you have any questions about the bot feel free to ask on my (or the bots) talk page, I'm more than happy to help :) If you catch it acting up, please let me know, I don't mind one bit, I much rather know and be able to fix it than have it malfunction -- Tawker 23:21, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The bot should be fixed now, please let me know if it malfunctions again -- Tawker 06:26, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes sorry about this one, my fault. Its been fixed. joshbuddytalk 16:48, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a little puzzled over your second comment. After the bug was found (and reported) it was fixed within the hour. In addition I explained what happened on their talk page. Tawkerbot2 is one of the bots that it is impossible to check every edit, it simply makes too many (and I'd like to be able to fix an article every now and then :) - when bugs are found steps are taken to fix them, I don't see how that is not being responsible for the bot -- Tawker 17:45, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar[edit]

I hereby award Tim! with the Working Man's Barnstar, in recognition of his labour replacing hyphens with mdashes on every Doctor Who story page. Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 04:58, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

(Copied from User talk:Josiah Rowe): And you even spelt labour with a 'u' :-) Tim (meep) 16:38, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It just seemed appropriate in the circumstances. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 17:52, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regeneration[edit]

John Cleese would have made an excellent Doctor :) Tim! 18:29, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

CFD and DRV[edit]

According to the instructions at WP:CFD#Empty and delete, the categories were to be depopulated and deleted. No mention of deletion review was made. If there are other categories currently on WP:DRV, please remove them from the CFD backlog section. — Apr. 16, '06 [09:55] <freakofnurxture|talk>

Yes, I know. I "nuked" them myself, per the instructions at WP:CFD, unaware of your posting at WP:DRV less than 45 minutes ago. If you felt strongly about this issue, you should have attempted to sway the consensus at Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2006 April 6#CSI categories. Would you have blocked me if I had elected to depopulate them manually instead of by bot? — Apr. 16, '06 [10:02] <freakofnurxture|talk>

...If you were doing it manually you would see "NEW MESSAGE" spring up bright yellow and hopefully stop doing it. Tim! 10:05, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, okay... Would you still have reverted the edits as common vandalism? Or, heh... what if I was using that AWB tool that's so popular these days? At a minimum you could have posted a message on my talk page or contacted me via IRC before blocking on the assumption that I was either asleep or out of town. — Apr. 16, '06 [10:38] <freakofnurxture|talk>

Re: related ombudsman categories[edit]

Please comment also on Wikipedia:Categories for deletion#Category:Ombudsmans to Category:Ombudsmen and the five other related entries below it so there will be no room for confusion. — Apr. 18, '06 [01:59] <freakofnurxture|talk>

Thank you very much from ISD[edit]

I just want to say thanks for giving me this award, it means quite a lot. ISD Time unknown, 22 April 2006 (UTC).

However, on reflection, I think it would be best for me to decline your award. I am not really the sort of person who accepts honours, and now that I have had time to think, I think it would be best for myself if I did not accept.

I would like to say however that I still feel honoured by your kindness. Thank you very much once again. ISD 08:15, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers[edit]

Thanks for the nomination and kind words :) Seems to be going OK! The JPS 14:59, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A landslide victory for The JPS (aka RFA thanks)[edit]

Hey, Tim, thank you so much for your nomination and comments in my RfA, which passed with an overwhelming consensus of 95/2/2. I was very surprised and flattered that the community has entrusted me with these lovely new toys. I ripped open the box and started playing with them as soon as I got them, and I've already had the pleasure of deleting random nonsense/attacks/copyvios tonight.
If I ever do anything wrong, or can help in some way, please feel free to drop me a line on my talk page, and I will do my best to correct my mistake, or whatever...
Now, to that bottle of wine waiting for me...

CFD - Automobile/Motor manufacturers[edit]

Just wondering what account of the balance of opinion to use 'Motor' rather than 'Automobile' where it is local usage you'd taken on closing this one. I know that User:Cyde carried out the work before you closed the CFD but it doesn't seem to take account of the views given. Ian3055 15:05, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I see you closed this discussion as "no consensus". I was wondering if you might like to reconsider that decision, as I counted 14 delete votes (including the nominator) to 4 keep votes. It seems like a clear case of a supermajority, and that your decision would likely be overturned if taken to Deletion Review. Thanks. - EurekaLott 19:09, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the response. You could say that the article already had that "stay of execution", since it was closed five days after the seven-day CFD period, and the only additional comment it garnered was one more delete vote. If not deletion review, where would you suggest as a place to hold the constructive conversation? Category talk:Wold Newton family members wouldn't work very well, since it's likely that the only people watching it are the ones who voted keep. - EurekaLott 05:08, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, I can't think of any other options, either, so I'm afraid that leaves deletion review. I guess this discussion will continue there. - EurekaLott 04:53, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for reverting the vandal on my userpage. :) Ian3055 21:21, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Hi Tim — Thank you for your support on my recent RfA. It succeeded with a final tally of 72/2/0 and I am now an administrator. I'll be taking things slowly at first and getting used to the new tools (and reverting vandalism to Doctor Who that much more efficiently), but please let me know if there's any adminnery I can help you with in the future. —Whouk (talk) 18:23, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
