Hi Praxidicae, Regarding the copyright issue on this article. I will change the text. Is that ok? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Siddsg (talkcontribs) 14:55, 6 March 2020 (UTC)

Notable?

Hi Praxidicae! Can you please have a look at The London Lifestyle Awards to see if it meets the notability guidelines? I have no idea where to check for guidelines for such awards and thought you can help in this. I placed a tag[1] for more citations however it was removed without addressing the issue or leaving any edit summary or comment on the talk page. Also, in the article "Jason Gale" has been listed as the founder and I saw some edits were made from this account: User:Jason James Gale. --KartikeyaS (talk) 18:35, 6 March 2020 (UTC)

All I did was scroll down to the bottom and...oof. Without having done any before, I'm going to hazard a guess this is the product of black hat SEO pushing PR trash. I'll dig more. Praxidicae (talk) 18:36, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for checking and I also noticed that significant contributions were mostly from editors who were clearly WP:NOTHERE. --KartikeyaS (talk) 18:41, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
Yeah I have no idea how it's managed to survive this long. I can't find a single piece in actual newspaper archives, online news sources or in books that talk about it in depth. So now it's at the the garbage processing plant. Praxidicae (talk) 18:43, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
Thank you again for taking it to Afd. KartikeyaS (talk) 18:46, 6 March 2020 (UTC)

Not Spamming

I received your message. I was not spamming. There is nothing on Wiki regarding Sintered Stone and I wanted to add it. This is a newer material and the information came from the source: https://countertopadvisor.com so I added that link. Please let me know how this was wrong and please advise the proper way to do this? My entire edit/add was removed. Wiki is supposed to be full of value information. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by JonSmith37341 (talkcontribs) 01:31, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

Notability of Thomas A. McKean

@Praxidicae: Did you get notification of this message? Ylevental (talk) 18:43, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

Here are the sources that I think are the most notable for Thomas A. McKean:

  • Smith, Joanne (15 April 2002). "Authors, one autistic, discuss condition, how to respond to it". Dayton Daily News.
  • Carlstone, Linda Mae (28 July 1994). "Autistic Writer Finds Voice, Delivers A Message Of Hope". Chicago Tribune. Retrieved 9 March 2016.
  • Pegram, Cynthia (14 Jan 2007). "Autistic teen, adult talk to parents who have autistic children". The News & Advance. Retrieved 8 March 2020.
  • Fiely, Dennis (13 January 1995). "Man Now Speaks For Those Who Suffer in Silence". Columbus Dispatch. (Available at Newspapers.com)
  • Pegram, Cynthia (1999). "Speaker Puts Face on Autism". Lynchburg News & Advance. (Available at Newspapers.com)
  • Serak, Janis (May–June 1994). "Soon Will Come The Light". The Advocate. 26 (3): 22–23. Retrieved 12 February 2019.

Are these good enough? Or do you think that the article should be nominated for deletion?

Ylevental (talk) 00:24, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

Quick question, would ripping out the unreliable sources and just sourcing everything that’s in the page with reliable ones be good enough for approval, or is there a deeper notability issue? Just curious. Integritas888 (talk) 01:33, 11 March 2020 (UTC)

No, because they do not establish notability. Praxidicae (talk) 01:33, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
OK thanks 😊 Integritas888 (talk) 01:40, 11 March 2020 (UTC)

Synchronicity Research Section

I have made changes to the Synchronicity article including a Research section. I think this is an important section to include, for example, in the same way that the Wikipedia entry for meditation has a research section (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meditation#Research). All sources included in the Research section are published in peer-reviewed scholarly journals. Hence, I was surprised by your removing this section and declaring the references as "junk science." — Preceding unsigned comment added by SymICiEl (talkcontribs) 23:39, 11 March 2020 (UTC)

Article on Eddie del Barrio

Hi! I see you tagged the article on Eddie del Barrio for deletion. I think it might be because you saw a version where I hadn't added the citations yet. I do not know how I published it when it still was not finished (I wanted to keep it as a draft until I added al the citations). Can you please review it again? Thanks! Recent discussion at AN/I

Hello Praxidicae. In the recently closed thread on "Use of racial slur" at AN/I, you say this:

* absolutely disgusting behavior from anyone much less a tenured editor. Racist jokes aren't funny, they're just racist. Imagine someone making a "joke" of this nature using the n-word. This is no different.

I wonder could if you possibly explain why you thought I was "making a racist joke" at the expense of a group of people, in this case Chinese people? Martinevans123 (talk) 20:37, 12 March 2020 (UTC)

Well, Martin, what were you doing? Praxidicae (talk) 20:40, 12 March 2020 (UTC)
Well Prax, I was trying to suggest a topical reference to EEng's use of the word "Kowtow". I was trying to characterise what I saw were certain shortcomings in the seriousness of the response of the US government to the ongoing coronavirus crisis; I thought the piped link was a bit of a giveaway. I also thought that meaning would be obvious to him, for whose benefit it was added. The fact that he tided up my comment, and made no enquiry as to it's meaning, suggested just that. Why do you think that comment, with that link, was "at the expense of the Chinese"? You think that I hate all Chinese people and like to make racist jokes about them? Martinevans123 (talk) 21:06, 12 March 2020 (UTC)
In no universe is using a racial slur to make a point acceptable. It was a racist comment, using an ethnic slur. I'm not interested in your thought process and no one is obligated to ask for your reasoning. If you don't understand this, I don't know what to tell you, but it's clear that you're either doing this for shock value or something more loathsome, so please stay off my talk page as I'm not interested in anything you have to say about this matter. Praxidicae (talk) 21:14, 12 March 2020 (UTC)
Where was the "shock value" before I was taken to AN/I? I'm very sorry that you are not willing to discuss this, as you complained there I was "unwilling to discuss". You also seemed to imply that I have "chronic, intractable behavioral problems" and that I am "a long term editor repeatedly using racial slurs". I think those claims are somewhat unfair. I do not expect any further reply. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:26, 12 March 2020 (UTC)

Hi Praxidicae, as per your suggestion for a page I submitted for review (Declining submission: adv - Submission reads like an advertisement and corp - Submission is about a company or organization not yet shown to meet notability guidelines) any suggestion to improve the page will help. Edits on the page of Yatin Patel

Hi,

I believe that the edit done by one of the editor was right. He/She had just added sourced information about Patel's company, and the awards that he has won. While doing that, the lead paragraph was also edited per encyclopedic prose. This is the reason why I reverted your edit to his/her version. I don't see any issue in the references too as all of them are reliable sources. Could you please make me understand why you keep reverting them?

You are incorrect. Take a read of WP:RS thoroughly. Fake media outlets created by black hat seo firms are not acceptable. It's pretty simple. Praxidicae (talk)
Do you think California Herald is a fake media outlet? What about Hindustan Times, Orlando Sentinel, Business Journal, they are all legit. You can include information from them.
The other 3 are not written by their editorial staff. California Herald is without a doubt a fake news site run by a blackhat SEO firm. I'm not going to spoon feed you why. Praxidicae (talk) 15:19, 18 March 2020 (UTC)
I buy your point on California Herald. The Business Journal story is written by the Associate Managing Editor, the Orlando Sentinel is written by the correspondent while the Silicon Review is an interview which involves an editorial staff. Could these be considered? 47.17.125.170 (talk) 16:03, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

2009 influenza pandemic

Do you have any idea what happened very early this morning on the 2009 influenza pandemic page to the reference to Covid-19/Coronavirus in the comparison table? It looks like that reference was changed to 2019-2020 seasonal flu, which makes sense, but why isn’t that update reflected in the page history? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rschwalb (talkcontribs) 19:43, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

THINK

Probably by accident you have reverted my changes to THINK page. It used to be a standard redirect page for Think. I have added there a short article about THINK principle. It is used in schools and often appears in Tweets e.g. https://twitter.com/GasantAbarder/status/958958421579063296

Can you restore this article?

PiotrParadzinski (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 18:13, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

No, because it was nothing more than an advert. Praxidicae (talk) 18:15, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

I moved the article to THINK (mnemonic), restored link in Think (disambiguation). I struggled for a long time to figure out where THINK should belong. I think the current place is much better. I got the opportunity to improve links and dig up some back story of this mnemonic. So thank you!

You said this article is an advert. If you know better links as references, then feel free to improve the article. Have a nice day.

--PiotrParadzinski (talk) 19:56, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

Those references don't exist because it's not an encyclopedic topic. Praxidicae (talk) 20:16, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

Movement of UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland back to Children's Hospital Oakland

Dear Praxidicae,
It is in my understanding that the wikipedia name change policy runs like this: Sometimes the subject of an article will undergo a change of name. When this occurs, we give extra weight to reliable sources written after the name change. If the reliable sources written after the change is announced routinely use the new name, Wikipedia should follow suit and change relevant titles to match. If, on the other hand, reliable sources written after the name change is announced continue to use the established name, Wikipedia should continue to do so as well, as described above in "Use commonly recognizable names".

Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. We do not know what terms or names will be used in the future, but only what is and has been in use, and is therefore familiar to our readers. However, common sense can be applied – if the subject of an article has a name change, it is reasonable to consider the usage following the change in reliable, English-language sources. This provision also applies to names used as part of descriptive titles.

As the name Children's Hospital Oakland is no longer used based on these publications: https://www.mercurynews.com/2014/04/08/childrens-hospital-oakland-gets-50-million-and-new-name-in-ucsf-benioff-childrens-hospital-merger/

Per WP:NAMECHANGE, If the reliable sources written after the change is announced routinely use the new name, Wikipedia should follow suit and change relevant titles to match.

Thanks,

The edits I made a mistake on, I agree... but when I did a google search all of the places that referenced the name were basically redirects and the full name was made clear once on the website. For any mistakes sorry. Check the talk page of if you still think I was completely a jerk. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:JalenFolf IDCWII (talk) 07:04, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

What exactly are you referring to when you say he later declined? Please provide a diff of JalenFolf stating he's withdrawing the nom, IDCWII. Praxidicae (talk) 12:20, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
I think IDCWII is referring to SoWhy's decline of JalenFolf's original CSD. IDCWII - what has happened is that JalenFolf nominated it for what we call a speedy deletion - a deletion that doesn't require any discussion. SoWhy, an administrator, declined that request, so JalenFolf has started a discussion about whether or not it should be deleted. You can contribute to the discussion by going to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Voicians and arguing your case; however, you must not remove the notice of the discussion from the article, since that will prevent people from finding out that there is a discussion going on. St. Francis de Sales College

Hello Praxidicae, I can't figure out why you are creating trouble. I am employee of the St. Francis de Sales College, Nagpur teaching Chemistry to undergraduate students. I am getting salary as an employee of the college. I am not getting any payment for the creation of page in Wikipedia or anywhere. My sole intention is to make a informative and reliable page of my college. I was doing many editing in the other page(St. Francis De Sales College) But suddenly someone restored it to old version and I couldn't revert it back. Hence I was forced to create a new page. Since I represent the Institution, I have reliable and accurate data with me and I would like to add everything in the page. I request you to initiate to delete the other page due to inaccurate and misleading information and they cannot make the page informative. Kindly understand my intention to view a complete collection of information of the institution and nothing monetary. I am ready to provide proof of representation of the institution.

I'm not creating trouble. Read your talk page, follow the instructions. You stated you're an assistant at the college, ergo you have a conflict of interest and may not edit any article about the school directly. Also sign your posts. Praxidicae (talk) 19:06, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Spam

I was puzzled by your use of the word "spam" in your edit summary for the song "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood". My understanding of the word "spam" in the context of computers is to refer to junk mail in one's email account. That doesn't apply here. You might want to change your edit summary to something which better reflects your reasons for deleting material. Thanks.Vmavanti (talk) 19:31, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Perhaps check the material I removed and the other contributions of the user. Linkspam is spam and my edit summary was accurate. Praxidicae (talk) 19:50, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
No, it wasn't. There's no such thing as "linkspam" and you are using the word "spam" incorrectly, and even if you were using such terms correctly, they qualify as jargon which should be avoided. On the internet and on Wikipedia, because the purpose is communicating with human beings, as large an audience as possible, it's better to make your prose and your edit summaries clear, simple, and plain. I know you don't like to hear it, but if you follow that advice you will be a much better editor. Then you can pass it on to the next person who delights in obfuscation.Vmavanti (talk) 15:21, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
WP:LINKSPAM is literally a thing. Anyway, if you have an issue with my edits, feel free to take it to ANI. Praxidicae (talk) 15:23, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
Answering impulsively is a bad idea. Reasonable adults ought to be able to discuss edits, methods, and disagreements on their own. Jargon and acronyms are enemies of clarity. I come down on the side of communication.Vmavanti (talk) 15:29, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
Vmavanti, just as a note, spamming can relate to a multitude of unwanted and unsolicited messages, the most common of which is email spam but can also be used to describe a link to a promotional website. As Praxidicae has linked to above, we even have a WP shortcut that links to why we should not be putting these sorts of links on Wikipedia; she is using the term correctly, and hopefully you will use this as a learning opportunity rather than any sort of belittlement - we all don't know something, and today is your day to learn about spam! Primefac (talk) 15:31, 29 March 2020 (UTC) (talk page stalker)
Well, I appreciate you for being nosy enough to butt in and inform me. I accept your explanation of the technical term, though I didn't find it in my dictionary. I still emphasize the need for plain language and clarity when dealing with a large audience. Those standards exclude being satisfied with acronyms and jargon as edit summaries, no matter who uses them. Sure, some terms are obvious, others less so. I got the gist of the edit summary in context, but many people out in the world would not have. Thanks.Vmavanti (talk) 19:24, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
No problem, and I agree that sometimes we're a little too reliant on those "ALLCAPS" links to make our point; it can be hard some times to remember that not everyone on Wikipedia has had the same experiences. All we can do is help others and try to be understanding. Primefac (talk) 19:30, 29 March 2020 (UTC)

EarlySalary Page

Hi, this is in response to the page on EarlySalary. I would like to confirm to you that I am not being compensated (in any way) for my edits. Being a tech entrepreneur, I tend to focus on startup topics to a large degree on Wikipedia, and created the EarlySalary page after seeing that it had a million-plus customers. My understanding is that this makes it worthy of a page. I hadn't seen your message on my talk before I saw the notice on the page, so I ended up re-reviewing the page and removing what seemed to me, on second glance, potentially promotional. Promotion of the topic was not my intention. I genuinely believe, given the company's metrics and stats, that they are notable enough. Pls review. Thanks for reaching out! But below that it says that users can redirect if they have a static IP. CartleR255 (talk) 15:38, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
@CartleR255: Reattribution of edits from an IP address is not currently possible due to software limitations. Anonymous user and user talk pages should not be redirected either, as doing so would imply that you are the only person who ever has and who ever will use that IP address. This is almost never the case with residential IP addresses, as they are dynamically allocated, even if they appear to be stable. I would encourage you to focus on making more edits to Wikipedia instead of focusing on the edits you have already made. --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 15:46, 5 April 2020 (UTC) (talk page watcher)

Sky burg record

Hey editor, I just have the query about the your comment on the drat of sky burg record. How do you exactly claim that the media outlets are actually fake?

Thanks. (Hina bibi HB (talk) 14:06, 7 April 2020 (UTC))

Go read their about me and then do some research. It's fake and run by blackhat SEO firms. Praxidicae (talk) 14:07, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

I just have. I think a on or two maybe as you said can be fake, but not all of them. Especially like Voyage & Respect. I think the profile is meeting the notability criteria. (Hina bibi HB (talk) 14:13, 7 April 2020 (UTC))

You're wrong. Praxidicae (talk) 14:13, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Just by saying that I am wrong, you cannot claim your words. On a very friendly note, I think you need to consider this profile again. Much love & Respect! (Hina bibi HB (talk) 14:15, 7 April 2020 (UTC))

You know you're wrong because we've been through this before. This is paid SEO trash and it's plainly obvious for anyone with critical reading skills. The Voyage group is a pay for publication scam, the rest are just garbage sources. Quite curious why you're asking me about a draft you've never edited though, Hina bibi HB. Did you forget to login to your other account? Praxidicae (talk) 14:16, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

First, two to three days ago, when I was looking to edit new pages when I saw this one. The draft was not submitted for review at that time. I though references like Voyage makes it notable enough. I didn't know what you said that its a scam. I could have tried submitting it for review again. I asked you as you have declined it. (Hina bibi HB (talk) 14:24, 7 April 2020 (UTC))

Deletion of Darren Prince

Hi there,

I would like to know why you are deleting articles that have been asked for help to improve them? I'm new here and been looking for feedback but all I got was notes of deletion. Would really like to get some time to improve and change what I'm writing instead of just having it all disappear. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mtennysdotter (talkcontribs) 16:45, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi, this is in response to the page on Caps Lock2018. I would like to confirm to you that I am not being compensated, (in any way) for my edits. All i have is Wikipedia® is a registered trademark of the Wikimedia Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization. Caps Lock2018 (talk) 11:53, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

This is utter nonsense. What does Wikimedia's copyright or trademark have to do with anything? If you're not paid or editing with a conflict of interest, explain how you're conveniently the copyright holder of the images in the articles you've created. Praxidicae (talk) 11:54, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

alright. so now am allowed to continue making the edits and page creations Caps Lock2018 (talk) 12:25, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Parapsychology Article

Hello, thank you for your comments about the article. Since there is a lack of information about the study of parapsychology in America, I created a page. I agree that it does seem to be a pamphlet listing all the courses, which was the purpose of the page in the first place. I cannot add it to the Parapsychology page because it cannot go under any existing sub category and it cannot be added to the page because it focuses too much on the singular topic of "study in America." Do you have any suggestions as to how to fix it as the page that it is now? Thank you for your time. Cpears8 (talk) 17:36, 9 April 2020 (UTC)

Wikipedia isn't a directory for how to find courses in quackery. It's nothing more than an advert. Praxidicae (talk) 17:37, 9 April 2020 (UTC)

Hello again, should the main parapsychology page be removed then? Since it is "quackery" should we remove another person's page? Cpears8 (talk) 17:50, 9 April 2020 (UTC)

No because it's encyclopedic; your directory/brochure isn't. Praxidicae (talk) 17:51, 9 April 2020 (UTC)

Hello, you are claiming that it is quackery because of your opinions on the subject matter. I am done talking with you because you spread hate for a living. And it is not very nice to do so. Cpears8 (talk) 17:58, 9 April 2020 (UTC)

No because it's bullshit, and that's the scientific term. Praxidicae (talk) 17:59, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
As an scientist, I can confirm this to be true. Nick (talk) 18:06, 9 April 2020 (UTC)

Found an undiscosed paid tag by you

Hi, I saw an undisclosed paid tag in the page Dinesh Sudarshan Soi stamped by you. Don't know the reason, so I have edited the page to some extend. Please check it, and if the reason is other than the clean-up please tell.

Thank You SidhardhRamesh 💬 14:05, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

It is clear at least two editors who have a major conflict of interest have significantly edited that article. Second, the sources you've added are not reliable, please see WP:RSP and WP:RS. Praxidicae (talk) 14:07, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
Ok, so there's nothing I can do other than finding appropriate sources. Thank You SidhardhRamesh 💬 14:39, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

The source may have been "crappy", but it was the only one available to me, in Europe, as the one you've added is blocked. Please format your citation correctly. Thanks. Ghmyrtle (talk) 16:23, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

Not being available in Europe isn't a reason to use a crappy aggregate spam site though. You're welcome to fix the formatting yourself as refill logs me out right now. Praxidicae (talk) 16:24, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
Can't do that, as I can't see your source. Understand? Ghmyrtle (talk) 16:24, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
Well, then it'll get fixed when it gets fixed. It's really not the end of the world. Praxidicae (talk) 16:25, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
Of course it's not, but being able to format citations roughly correctly is a fairly basic skill. Ghmyrtle (talk) 16:26, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
So are a lot of things, like critical evaluation of sources and being able to identify a spammy news aggregator. I'll fix it when I get around to it. Praxidicae (talk) 16:28, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

Attention Management

Hi Praxidicae,

new to Wikipedia so I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask and I've also seen your brusque style and responses to users above so I'm a bit scared :) I saw you reverted my edits on "Attention Management" - is there any part in particular that could be improved or left out? As pointed out in the talk page of the article the old version is a mess and very incomplete, so I expected at least parts of my edit to be an improvement =D

happy to hear from you - Jakob Prufer (talk) 11:38, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)Jakob Prufer, It would probably be useful for Praxidicae (and just in general in the future) to link to edits you are asking about. Sulfurboy (talk) 14:08, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
Sulfurboy I think he actually meant Attention management. I was confused at first when I saw the title too. ;) Praxidicae (talk) 14:09, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
Woof, he wasn't lying about that article being a mess. From my skim of his edits, I would say this: I like the formatting. You did a good job on that Jakob Prufer. Several things within it sound almost essay-like, so I would say that tone would need to be tweaked a little bit. Prax, was that your biggest issue with the user's edit? Bkissin (talk) 14:36, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

Minor Changes that Will Help Combat Global Warming

Hey - would you be willing to move this back to the student's userspace? I'm going to ask them to work on making a suggested edit (via the global warming talk page) on the main article or work on a different topic. This definitely shouldn't have been moved live. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:39, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

You're welcome to move it but I don't think that's the solution here as it's just patently unencyclopedic. I'd discourage them very much from inserting content from it anywhere in mainspace as well. I guess if you're willing to make it clear to them what is expected/required for an encyclopedia, I don't have any opposition but would really advise it be blanked and started entirely from scratch so they don't waste their (or anyone else's) time trying to rework something that's just not encyclopedic. Also, would you mind discussing their commons uploads with them? Thanks for reaching out, Shalor. Praxidicae (talk) 14:41, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
  • I will - offhand, I will say that this could be tagged as being redundant to Climate change mitigation if you're very concerned. I've recommended that they instead work on a subsection of that article, on the activism portion. I've left them general notes about the article. It looks like the mitigation page discusses things more on the global and national level and doesn't really have information on how people make individual changes, so that's a possibility as well, but it would definitely need to be re-written from scratch. My thought was that they could reduce the work into bullet points and then work from there. I've heavily recommended that they post any potential changes to the article talk page first, however.
With the uploads, I'll reach out to the instructor and let them know to talk to their students about image copyright. It looks like this is an issue with multiple students in the course, looking at what they've uploaded. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:55, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

Hello Praxidicae. Recently you tried to nominate this article for deletion but there was a template problem. I factually reported data on a film that has been released in December 2019, has a big following (70K downloads), is available on most Video On Demand outlets(apple, verizon, google, direct, Amazon etc), but you state it doesn't have enough sources? The article is factual (I was a reporter many years ago snd my network Newsbytes News Network, won two awards). No promotion is provided. It's just like many other film entries that are already on wikipedia. So I think it is perfect for wikipedia. Can you elaborate on your answer please? 4711

Hello,

This is Jennifer Voigt Kaplan. I'm a children's book writer and recently tried to add my book, CRUSHING THE RED FLOWERS, to the 4711 page in "popular references". I see that my edits were removed due to self-promotion. Apologies. It was my first time adding to Wikipedia. Would an entry like the below be acceptable? It follows a similar format as the "Yevgeny Zamyatin WE" entry.

In Jennifer Voigt Kaplan's children's novel, CRUSHING THE RED FLOWERS, 4711 is referenced in chapter 12 ("The Flagbearer"), chapter 16 ("The Certainty"), and chapter 22 ("After Emil’s Night of Broken Glass").

Response to Reviews

Dear User: Praxidacae, Praxidicae Thank you very much, I love criticism, because it brings out the best in us, so this is what I am looking for. Firstly, I have no association with Dennis Burton, Aaron D. Lewis or Bishnu Adhikar. These creation were promotioal. Dennis is a scientist who I found out while going through the Wikipedia:Requested Article page. Aaron is a Humanitarian who's work is important to Africans and Blacks. Bishnu is an actor whose movie I recently watched - I saw he didn't have a page and decided to create one. Instead of deletion, suggest you tell me where and what to remove and add to the article and I will be much willing to do that. Thank you Please do let me know if I can submit the Aaron D. Lewis draft for publishing and if I can contest the speedy deletion of Bishnu page

Thank you, Praxixdicae. Both files were not copyrighted, the first file (Dennis) was gotten from his lab page, without any copyright infrigement.I tried using them directly, but I had issues uploading them to WikiCommons, so I uploaded them via my page. The second file also is a post on Social Media, after watching the movie, I got the picture, made some edits and used it. Thank you. For highly promotional editing. I have asked two or three editors to suggest ways how not to sound promotional because i have no such intentions, an editor commented on that talk page which i implemented.

That is simply untrue and at least for the second, you uploaded it as your own work. Explain. Praxidicae (talk) 16:03, 19 April 2020 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) TheEpistle, there's a reason that it said you have to upload your own work - it's because you can't upload someone else's. What you have done is a copyright violation, since you have uploaded the files, marked them as your own work, and released them under a license which you did not have permission to do. That's a serious problem, and I will be nominating those files for deletion as copyright violations shortly. creffett (talk) 18:02, 19 April 2020 (UTC)

These articles were fairly developed and already had five or more citations to news sources when you draftified them. The boilerplate reason "Undersourced, incubate in draftspace" certainly does not seem to fit here. IMO if notability was doubted, the articles should just have been AfDed. --Paul_012 (talk) 09:49, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

The claims are bogus since it's well established the pageant isn't notable, the sources are suck and another reviewer appears to agree with me. Praxidicae (talk) 12:39, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
I agree that the subjects aren't notable. But isn't draftification supposed to be for articles about subjects that might be notable, but which aren't developed enough to show this, so that they may be improved? Too often it's the case that the creator will just re-create the article (which is perfectly within their rights, since AfC is an optional process), necessitating further work to histmerge the separate pages (not mentioning time wasted at AfC reviews), and then theyy will need to be AfDed anyway. --Paul_012 (talk) 10:18, 23 April 2020 (UTC)

With the edits and creation made with the page Nova Wav I will go back and make further changes to fit the warnings. I did not receive undisclosed paid editing. I am perfecting my editing skills on Wikipedia and created the page out of courtesy. I will adjust the article to fit the warnings, but the warning of paid editing needs to be removed as it is a false allegation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marie610 (talkcontribs)

If you want to re-add the image to Paceloti, you just need to add the code that was removed (in this case, [[File:Rich paceloti.jpg|thumb|paceloti coming out of show in january 2020]]). When you do that, you should not remove the other text on the page. Primefac (talk) 18:35, 27 April 2020 (UTC) (talk page stalker)
@Izueke chijioke, cease and desist from bothering Praxidicae, take all your arguments here or bother me instead, I nominated the article for deletion. The editor who owns this page attends to more demanding issues.Celestina007 (talk) 18:41, 27 April 2020 (UTC)
Celestina007, your rebuke is rather unnecessary; Izueke asked a reasonable question; they seem to be a new editor and probably didn't even realize they had removed the AFD template. This is the only post they have made here, so I don't know why it would be considered "bothering". Primefac (talk) 18:44, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Hello Praxidicae. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Ravi Nitesh Srivastava, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There's enough to indiciate notability sufficient to require an AfD discussion, and it's not overtly spammy. Speedy Deletion Aelex Partners

  • Hello Praxidicae, I have noticed that you placed a speedy deletion tag on the above named article, and I believe that the issues raised with the original content have been addressed. There are several in depth mentions of the firm in several notable Nigerian publications and the subject meets WP:GNG / WP:NCORP and has WP:CORPDEPTH. At least 20 strong references were cited in the article including these ones from the Guardian Newspaper here, and their work on the takeover of a Nigerian firm by Coca-Cola was also documented in another leading Newspaper, ThisDay here. Moreso, the article is written in an unbiased manner from an objective POV. If there are issues with some of the terms used, I would appreciate if those items were flagged for corrections to be made, however, I do believe that it was written in the same manner as other law firms, which can be found on wikipedia and the references cited are strong.Ponlegbile (talk) 19:18, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

Hello Praxidicae. The issue I have is for the same case that @Bédévore: brought up in a previous message to you: I have seen through Wikidata that an article from the same sockpuppet she pointed out has been created (Ahlem Fekih) which has been deleted as not meeting criteria on multiple WPs including here. Moving articles & redirects

Hello, Praxidicae,

Regarding your move of Article (publishing), in the future, when you move a page, can you leave a redirect? There were lots of redirects to that article that were broken because there was no redirect from the old location to the new one. If you leave a redirect after a move, then one of our helpful bots can change the redirects to the new page. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 19:58, 30 April 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion

I notice that you tagged the page Jazzfeezy for speedy deletion with the reason "G4 repost of deleted content". While that's a valid reason for speedy deletion in general, this page does not qualify for speedy deletion under that criterion because the article is not a substantial copy of the previously deleted article. If you still want the page to be deleted, please consider tagging it with a speedy deletion template which does apply, redirecting it to another page, proposing the page for deletion if it appears to be an uncontroversial matter, or taking the page to WP:AFD for discussion on the merits. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 16:07, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

Stifle, the G4 tag was appropriate because Praxidicae needed an admin to see if it was the same content. You're right that it's not the same - it's substantially worse. But it is created by the same author, has no new reasons why it should be considered notable, and does not address the concerns of the previous AfD. It does seem like a waste of the community's time to run it through AfD again. – bradv🍁 16:22, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
I'm not saying that it was a bad tag, but explaining here why I haven't deleted it. The replacement article contains more references and more releases, so I can't see G4 applying here I'm afraid. Stifle (talk) 16:23, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
Stifle For my own edification, which of these sources are "new" (and reliable) that did not exist at the prior AFD? Praxidicae (talk) 16:24, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
The previous deletion was in July 2017, so anything since then. The new article has 74 references and the deleted one had 20. I am not in a position to assess each and every one of them individually for reliability.
Again, the test for G4 speedy deletion is that the reposted article must not be "substantially identical" - it is a high bar, as are all CSDs, because of the express process. Stifle (talk) 16:28, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
Almost 20 of them are YouTube links. If you're going to decline it for a specific reason, will you please provide me (a lowly non-admin) with a few specific examples of what sources are new and improved, Stifle? Praxidicae (talk) 16:30, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
I was just gearing up to do it the slow way via AfD, but Primefac seems to have zapped it. There really were no sources there at all aside from self promotion, UGC fan sites and passing mentions... GirthSummit (blether) 16:33, 4 May 2020 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Indeed (re: GS). "Substantially different", sure, but the issues that led to it being deleted twice at AFD are still valid - there is no demonstration of WP:MUSICBIO and the reference list is just silly (a quick glance will show 90% of them are useless). I'm happy to kick it to Draft if someone wants to take ownership. Primefac (talk) 16:36, 4 May 2020 (UTC) (talk page stalker)

Speedy deletion declined: Xavi Simons

Hello Praxidicae. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Xavi Simons, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: G3 clearly doesn't apply. G4 doesn't either as it's considerably different than last time with many more sources, which are definitely enough to pass A7. Needs to go back to AfD . Thank you. GedUK  11:00, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Hi, Why did you roll back my change on the brazilian jiu jitsu article? I put my reasons for the change both on the talk page and on the edit. I'm interested to see how you think the line adds anything to the article. v/r BasicsOnly (talk) 18:21, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

1.) I didn't roll it back, I undid it. 2.) as I said, it needs to be discussed on the talk page. Wholesale removing content is unacceptable without a very concise reasoning. Praxidicae (talk) 18:22, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
  • It's very well known in the BJJ community that that's not an actual controversy. It's simply incorrect information. Do one or two people probably believe it? Sure. Out of tens of thousands of practitioners. It's not even a substantial minority opinion. The brazilian jiu jitsu talk page seems pretty dead and nobody responded there when I asked about changing it. I'm trying to get this to GA status instead of the C status it's at now. BasicsOnly (talk) 18:28, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
So discuss it on the talk page and get consensus. Praxidicae (talk) 18:28, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
If I don't get a response on the talk page in 24 hours I will remove the line again. Nobody has been active on the talk page since 2017 and Martial Arts is my subject of expertise. I am not going to wait around when I have pages to clean up and articles to improve. If you have any good solid reason to object to the change please feel free to add it to the brazilian jiu jitsu talk page in the next 24 hours. Thank you. V/R BasicsOnly (talk) 20:13, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
That is not how consensus works. A day, or even two, is not sufficient time to let people weigh in. I don't care about the topic and won't be commenting but you should wait for someone else to comment. You've not presented a compelling reason to remove the content. Praxidicae (talk) 20:14, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
It's not correct information. It's that simple. It also adds nothing to the article. It's as if someone commented in an article on daniel craig under early life that "his parents named him Daniel. Some other people argue that name is not a good fit and he should be named Adam instead." It's an artificial controversy, it's inaccurate, and it's not even an interesting or value adding part of the article. It's just pointless word count fluffing. BasicsOnly (talk) 20:22, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Hi Praxidicae, I made changes to the article in the headline and removed the COI tag you placed there. I would appreciate your feedback. Best, Pratat (talk) 19:55, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

And I've restored the tag as I'm wary of a brand new user swooping in to remove it. Praxidicae (talk) 19:56, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
That seems like extremely biased reasoning, could you please elaborate on whats left to clean up? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pratat (talkcontribs) 19:58, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
Surely you would be skeptical of a brand new user joining and every single major edit they've made to mainspace is removing COI/UPE tags. Why don't you clean it up and then let another editor determine whether the tag should remain or not. Also sign your talk page edits. Praxidicae (talk) 20:00, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
I would look at the actual changes made and decide on merit and not based on the user. And if I though something else I would have called for reduction of rights to non-admin users so that they cannot remove tags at all, and if not - I would have worked withing the framework of Wikipedia's policies. Secondly, if I spend time on clearing complicated backlogs, I find it extremely unpleasant and uncivil to receive such comments from you. As for the matter on hand, I expect you to tell me what problem with the page merited restoring the PE tag so I could rectify it, or are you insisting on saying that merely the fact that it was me who removed it makes it illegitimate>? Pratat (talk) 20:08, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
I'm suggesting that given the fact that you've been editing for barely 3 weeks, you lack the adequate understanding of policy and guidelines as they pertain to making such decisions. Not coddling you or giving you the answer you want doesn't it make it uncivil, but similarly, I find your tirade here tiresome, so if you'd see yourself out, that'd be great. Praxidicae (talk) 20:09, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
Can’t remember when I was as belittled as I was by you, and with no justification whatsoever. Will stop my “tirade” here Pratat (talk) 21:00, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Urgent

Firstly, on my talk page you stated Nor have I ever interacted with this user. That is a lie, as clearly in [1] you had interacted with me, left a message that stated please stop abusing the help me template, when I wasn't even doing it to be disruptive (that is a big problem with people who oppose me), and you were clearly assuming bad faith on my part, and that doesn't start off very promsing.

Related to that, you then decide not to read my talkpage policies, and then regarding me as a "disruptive troll", which I am clearly against. I stated specifically in my talkpage policies for people not to assume bad faith towards me and regard my edits as disruptive (which has happened a lot with me in the past), and then two editors come over to my talk page and start spamming at their keyboards and type in bad faith messages which suggest I am a disruptive editor who is not here to build an encyclopedia, which is clearly prohibited and certainly not true according to all my contributions.

Now, please believe me, I am actually a very good person who does not have deny recognition, and I try to always make nice comments towards other editors. Also, I am very sensitive as to how people regard my personality, so if people regard me as a "disruptive troll who is only here to disrupt Wikipedia and threaten other uses", I take it very seriously and feel deeply threatened and develop WikiStress. And I am also still learning and getting used to Wikipedia's policies and I also feel very stressed when people just lash out on me, not knowing my actual personality, such as here when I didn't know you needed consent from a user to remove even your own comments from their talkpage. And yet they took as disruptive behaviour and then lashed out on me, and I felt very sad!

Now please don't take this message as personal or disruptive, but please adhere to it and don't repeat your mistake. So make sure you don't lash out and make comments about disruptive people who are actually good people! Once again, I am actually a good person with a very good personality and I try to always edit Wikipedia constructively, so please forgive me for my mistakes and I won't repeat them, but also learn from this message and don't assume bad faith towards, unless it is very obvious that I am making those contributions to disrupt Wikipedia (which is very unlikely because I'm a good guy!). Sent from C2A06 (About | Talk | Edits) 14:44, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

I really don't need a novel, do not ping me in your edits which have nothing to do with me. I don't know how to be more clear. If you don't want people to assume you're a troll, don't act like one. Praxidicae (talk) 14:45, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
I am not a troll, nor have I ever tried to act like one apart from in this little incident. I already stated this on my talkpage, but I will do it again here: I will never be disruptive and tag my edits with other editors. I promise not to repeat my mistake, and I feel very sorry for it. Thanks for accepting my reply and I hope you now forgive me! I am a good person, trust me! C2A06 (About | Talk | Edits) 14:53, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
I really don't need a novel? A "novel" is very important so you change your impression of me!!!! C2A06 (About | Talk | Edits)
C2A06, you're making matters worse at this point. I think the best course of action at this point is to avoid contact with Praxidicae and find a new project to work on. Bkissin (talk) 21:33, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
@C2A06: I happen to come across this conversation you have, being called disruptive troll is definitely not the most pleasing things in the world. In fact I have seen many. The WP:BITE is a reflection on things like this, when a good faith new comer experience misunderstandings or sometimes strong judgement from veteran editors. Many of us have been there. Please absolutely don't feel sad. One editor, regardless of how experience they are, how good faith they are, might misunderstand you, might overreact to mistakes(even if it's a mistake) of you that lead to their misperception of your intention, and sometimes they just have a bad day in their life or wikiland, that they don't have additional patience for a newcomer, just like when you watch team sports.
My suggestion to you, is don't feel too bad about one person's judgement. Have confidence in your own intention, but do look for suggestions on what potential mistakes you have made or miscommunication in the process. If you have checked them all and still believe nothing have went wrong on your side, then don't worry about it. Let it go. Checkout WP:FOC. You are not the first one.
And, at the end of day, I believe both you, @C2A06:, and @Praxidicae: are here to contribute to Wikipedia with good faith. xinbenlv Talk, Remember to "ping" me 03:19, 8 May 2020 (UTC)

Hello Praxidicae,

I just added Mailfence to this wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_address under subadressing. However, you have taken it down because of spam. I would like to know the reason behind it. I made sure that I cited correctly and hyperlinked the contribution correctly and nothing I included should be considered as spam. Looking forward to hear from you soon.

My apologies, I realize now that it's not really spam but you really shouldn't be linking to individual developers blogs. Praxidicae (talk) 12:47, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
