Thank you for supporting my RFA. I hope I will live up to your expectation. Let me know if you need any help, or I make any mistake. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 00:14, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Thank you

Wow! It's over, thank goodness. And thank you for all your support. Best wishes, DrKiernan 13:36, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

There are a few things you can do, the best thing I think of though would be to help out with "on this day". Just go to the page I just linked to, look at the source for existing entries to see how they should be formatted, and add any missing anniversaries that you might know of. Creating entries for 366 dates can be quite a daunting task, so I'd like to get as many members on this as possible. Other than that you can also make suggestions for future selected pictures and articles, as well as interesting facts to display in the "did you know..." box.-Jeff (talk) 04:13, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

You may want to clarify your oppose !vote at the instant RfA, to-wit, whether you mean to hold candidates to a 1000-edit or to a 10,000-edit standard; I imagine you to have meant the former, but you wrote the latter, and some appear to have construed that as suggesting that Greeves has yet to achieve fully ten per cent of the number of (ostensibly mainspace) edits you'd require to support a prospective admin. This is an altogether unsubstantive and unsubstantial issue, of course, but your oppose is surely at present being understood as advancing a seemingly unreasonable proposition [unless that is the proposition you intended to advance, in which case may strike seemingly unreasonable and replace it with exceedingly defensible :)]. Joe 05:36, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

What's up?

Hi. I noticed your name in the RfA and thought I'd look at your userpage. I was very pleased to see, based on your userboxes, we have quite a bit in common. And I thought I was the last one to support the war on terror. Good luck on your RfA. Useight 06:04, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Thank you X 100

Thank you very much for supporting my RfA, which closed successfully yesterday... W00t! I hope to be a great admin (and editor) and I'm sure you can tell that my use of a large, boldfaced, capital "T" and a big checkmark image in this generic "thank you" template that I swiped from some other user's Talk Page that I totally mean business! If you need anything in the future or if you see that I've done something incorrectly, please come to my Talk Page and let me know. So now I've got a bunch of reading to do.... see you around! - eo 13:29, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your support and comments at my RfA
Hi Politics rule, It still amazes me that otherwise "anonymous" editors take the time to place !votes and comments on RfAs. Whilst I would have normally thanked you at the time of you leaving your message, the importance of my not appearing to be canvassing prevented me from so doing. Now that everything has progressed successfully I can finally thank you. I intend to uphold a style of good adminship and will welcome your further comments at any time in the future, even if they are in the form of admonishment. I will be happy to help as an admin wherever and whenever I can --VS talk 22:50, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

RfA thanks

Hi Politics rule. Thank you for your support and kind words in my RfA, which passed with 95 support, 1 oppose, and 1 neutral !votes. It means a lot to me to have your individual support and the collective support of so many others. I truly will strive to carry myself at a level representing the trust bestowed in me as I use the mop to address the never-ending drips of discontent in need of caretaker assistance.

My RfA

Thank you for participating in my RfA. It was successful, and I am now, may God have mercy on us all, an administrator. Look at all the new buttons! I had heard about 'protect,' 'block user,' and 'delete,' but no one told me about 'kill,' 'eject,' and 'purée.' I appreciate the trust the community has in me, and I'll try hard not to delete the main page or block Jimbo. -FisherQueen (Talk) 17:49, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Deletion (copied from here)

Hey. I !voted in your RFA, and I believe I can trust you on this matter. I put this article up for speedy-deletion a few weeks ago. No admin has looked at it yet. I was wondering, if you could look at it. If you would like to, it is called Washington gubernatorial election, 2000, and Minnesota gubernatorial election, 2002. If you could, could you please look at them, and let me know whether you think they should be deleted, and then you can delete them. Thanks, Politics rule 20:33, 7 July 2007 (UTC)=)

The reason no one was addressing your speedy delete request is because your request did not show up at Category:Candidates for speedy deletion, which is the only way Admins know that a request has been made for a speedy delete. The reason your request did not show up at Category:Candidates for speedy deletion was that you did not use the current transclusion string, here {{db-nonsense}}. You might want to repost your speedy delete request using {{db-nonsense}}. -- Jreferee (Talk) 17:04, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey. With your RFA closing in a matter of hours, I would like to wish you luck. Even if your RFA fails, don't be discouraged. A lot of editors don't become administrators on there first try. It sometimes takes two or three times. I wish you luck in the future. If you would like me too, I would be willing to nominate you in two mounths. If you want me too, let me know!

Good luck in these next few hours, and in the future,

July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive

A new elimination drive of the backlog at Wikipedia:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.

You have received this message either due to your membership with WikiProject: Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. --Nehrams2020 23:37, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Politics rule and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). Hi,

I noticed recent edits you made to Siva1979's RfA. When someone double !votes, please not blank the text of the !votes. Always be sure to leave one vote intact; one should WP:AGF that the double !voting was an innocent mistake, and not punish the commenter by removing both. I think your are being wise holding of until the end of the year before going to WP:RFA. I know it's very frustrating when you have good intentions and just need some buttons on a piece of software to help you. Hey, I saw your note on Pedro's talk page, and I thought I'd drop by and review you :) To be honest, I don't think you're ready for adminship...you've done great mainspace work, but you have very little participation in the project space outside of RfA, and that's not an admin area. [2] What would your Q1 answer be, out of curiosity, because you really need to work in that area more if you want to pass an RfA. When the time comes, though, I'd be happy to nom you, but I don't think you're ready yet. Good luck, Giggy Talk | Review 01:43, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Feedback

Hi mate. If you were at RFA right now, this is what you'd get from me;

  • Weak Oppose. A good understanding of WP:N and some some excellent ENC contributions, civilility and collaboration - however I have concerns the candidate is over eager for adminship and has done little work in the areas that demonstrate an understanding of the tools. I see no / very few reports to WP:AIV and little if any work at WP:XFD. In addition substantial commenting at WP:RFA whilst valued seems too heavy a focus. I am mostly concerned that over 20% of your edits are to your own user page (over 550 at this point) and that you seem obsessed by your own edit count - [3] and [4]. You are well on your way, but I'd urge more prticipation outside of RFA and your user page. What I see so far is good, maybe a few more months in the areas outlined above as well as your ongoing excellent contribution in the politics area would dispell any doubts. I look forward to supporting a future RFA. Best.

.....would be an accurate assesment of how I would sit. Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm being honest to you and me, and I hope it helps! Any time I can help further please advise. Very Best Pedro |  Chat  07:46, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

What you would get from me is:
  • Oppose- little participation in admin-related areas. User is also to obsessed with his user page and edit count. I suggest you stop editing your user page and stop checking your edit count and start participating at XFD's and AIV or UAA.
or
  • Oppose- per Pedro.
If you fix these cncerns, I'll be happy to support your RfA. --Boricuaeddie 02:46, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
I would also weakly oppose, per my comments here. But you'll get there one day! Giggy Talk | Review 05:10, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

"changing of outcome of battle to sound better" - this battle outcome needs work. Characterizing the Battle of Debrecen as a decisive German victory is like characterizing the campaign in Belgium in 1940 as a French victory because General Prioux's armored units held up the advance of a German Panzer corps at Hannut.
The German victory at Nyíregyháza was at best tactical -- the Soviets resumed their advance within two days and Group Pliyev was back in action within a month -- hardly a decisive setback. Moreover, Nyíregyháza was only a corps-sized engagement at the end of a massive confrontation between two army groups. Request you review my editor's notes (on the talk page) and your comments on why you believe the Battle of Debrecen as a whole is a decisive Axis victory when the front got rolled to the west by at least one hundred kilometers. Ping!

Hey, I responded to your now nearly 2 month-old comment here. Figured I'd give ya a ping, to let you know! --SXT4 09:13, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

RFA

You think I think this is funny? I don't. It is not funny to not be given a chance at all. It is not funny to not be given a fair chance. It is not funny. Period.

  1. I was not uncivil, if anything, you were uncivil towards me. Did you even read what I had to say? I am trying to improve Wikipedia too, not everyone is a bad person.
    1. You please stop, you are the one being uncivil and rude. So please stop being uncivil and rude.

Oh, that was a mistake I had made. You had contacted someone else about the bear and then 53180 said something like "yeah it was me." He meant something else and didn't make a title for his post. Cheers, JetLover (talk) 01:25, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Response to your message

You posted this on my user page: Please stop removing the tally count from your RFA. It is considered vandalism. Politics rule 01:58, 20 August 2007 (UTC) My response: Just FYI, I did this accidentally. I was trying to respond to all my criticism, but I kept on getting edit conflicts because they were coming in too fast. In the chaos, I ended up deleting some vital information, like the tally count (as you mentioned.) I have withdrawn my nomination. Thanks for your advice. I really do appreciate it. Sorry for the attitude, but as I mentioned, I really think I am a qualified candidate but I guess the community did not agree. I hope you'll support me in the future. All the best. Picture

Hey, long time no talk. Anyway, I was just curious as to what the picture at the top of your userpage means. I noticed that it has switched between different Senators. Weatherman90 22:33, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

contemporaneous poll results

hi, i noticed that you post poll results for popularity of politicians shortly after said results are published. i think that's a bad idea. popularity is fleeting and not really appropriate for an encyclopedia. some years after a politician has left public life, the overall results of polling may be of interest, but in the hear and now, it stikes me as just that much more 'noise' in the articles. nothing personal. Anastrophe 02:17, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

I have to concur. It is ephmeral in the extreme. The only poll that counts is the official results (whether legit or fiddled). --Orange Mike 16:24, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Voting Symbols

Hello. I appreciate your excellent participation at RfAs, but please note that there is consensus to prohibit the use of voting symbols, as they are completely unnecessary, and it makes it look more like a vote and less like a discussion. I would appreciate it if you would stop using them; just stating your position is enough. Happy editing! --Boricuaeddie 00:03, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

My RFA

Thanks for your comments at my RFA! Democracy sure is great, even when you lose. I'll try to use your comments to shape my character and become a better admin, thanks! Cheers, JetLover (talk) 02:15, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
