April 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 01:05, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Indented line you are right regarding the external links section. Neverthless you must not remove all my contributions ! for instance : Bioinformatics_companies

External links[edit]

Please read the external links policy. The links you are adding are to a company that is not considered notable by wikipedia, and so do not belong on the pages you are adding them to. Clovis Sangrail (talk) 07:02, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 10:17, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 10:51, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Some advice on adding information[edit]

While the company you have been adding may be notable, it is incorrect to add it in as external link. If indeed the company meets wikipedia's requirement, then the way to add it in to wikipedia is to create a page for itsself. To do this you need to prove that the company is important enough to be in an encyclopedia by using external references that describe the company size or market importance. An example is DNASTAR. Please notice that all the other companies on the page where you were adding the links had their own page. Wikipedia isnt a directory, so if the company is not notable enough to be in the encyclopedia, then it is not notable enough to be listed. I hope this assists you.
