Groupers[edit]

Hello, and thanks for your edit. The issue of grouper attack on humans/divers is not a joke. There have been a few instances, and at least one fatality that I am aware of, from attack by large groupers/jewfish. I did not write this, nor have I looked for any references yet (though I have seen them in the recent past). Let's keep it for now, and you or I or someone else will hopefully add the reference link soon.DiverDave (talk) 04:55, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Soybean Reference[edit]

On your edit to Soybean#Phytoestrogen, did you have or purchase the full article? If so, did the article body same something different than the abstract? Soybean has lots of messed up references, please help out if you can. Thanks! UncleDouggie (talk) 13:16, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Regarding the Soybeans, I think you do need to purchase the article to get it. I'm university affiliated so can get to them for free. The article pretty much goes through a range of foods, and finds Soy to be magnitudes above other foods in phytoestrogens (Although there are a few odd things that are also high as well). It states that soy products is the highest in Isoflavones, which have been connected to the oestrogen effects. The way the wiki article was written made it sound as if soy products weren't really exceptional, which was a bit misleading. (I'm making a bit of a habit of checking the 'purchase article' references, as they're difficult to check and can be easily abused - you can point us to anything that you think is a bit suss). Cheers Clovis Sangrail (talk) 14:17, 5 September 2009 (UTC) This page has information taken from the same article:[reply]

db-move[edit]

Hi Clovis, I noticed that you placed the {{db-move}} tag on the page Gender discrimination in pakistan. However, db-move is intended to be used on pages that needs to be speedily deleted to make way for a move. In other words, if there is already a page at the target destination for the move, then that page should be tagged with db-move. Since the page Gender discrimination in Pakistan (with the proper capitalization) did not exist, an autoconfirmed user such as yourself can perform the move without the need for tagging any of the pages. Had a similar issue when working on Simon Binks (Australian Crawl), in that particular case he lodged a formal complaint with the foundation via OTRS. All I can say is that we try and work with BOYS MANAGEMENT and rather than accusing him of conflict of interest, we try to get him to assist in fixing any problems with the article. Some of the edits he has made have in fact been useful (i.e spelling of band members names etc). Will include comments on his talk page as well as on the article's talk page. Dan arndt (talk) 04:50, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It was really weird but had been thinking about what ever happened to Boys & thought I do a quick search on WP - that's when I saw the badly mangled article (which had only recently been posted) - given that I spend a lot of time editing Australian musical articles I thought I'd give it the once over. Unfortunately BOYS MANAGEMENT doesn't seem to have the same views on my editing skills - guess we'll just have to keep watch and hope that he asks for assistance. Euclid Wiki[edit]

You just reverted the wiki of euclid - the link i try to add from a relaible scientific ressource on historical information. Before i did this i tried to discuss the matter on the talk page, hence it got also deletd by novangelis. And beside i present overwhelming evidence and diffrent kind of ressources such as oxford journal, google books or perseus - they do not seem willing to cooperate.

You suggest to discuss this on the talk page of euclid. The problem is, since at least 12 month the user Novangelis and Finell suppress any evidence about euclid, which is not of western origin. Almost the complete talk page focus on this. However as there have been many useres before me trying to find a consensus and given the arguments and way both users engage diffrent opinion, there is little change to be expected. Please visit the link in question and restore this link. I just wanted to file a full protection for this wiki, to keep those useres from suppressing historical data or ressources. Now i fear your warning of becomeing banned, because i want to at least to add a link to this information - which is one of the leading ressources in the world in this regards. Please consider to re-add the link and protecting the wiki. --DuKu (talk) 01:30, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Force Fin[edit]

People come to wikipedia for information, perhaps more information should be added to give that to readers in the other sections, instead of deleting verifiable, accurate, descriptive, and cited information within the Force Fin section.

The Force Fin material was originally written by an unknown, unaffiliated member of wikipedia. Somewhere along the line it was deleted. I simply came in last November, using the original wikipedia material as my basis, cited references verifying and clarified some details with encyclopedic material.

A further search of the MOMA libraries as well as those at the Metropolitan Museumk of Modern Art will lead you to the items within the collection. Try searching under Bob Evans as the Artist. If it is a statement of fact, its relevant. I will disclose I am a principal in Force Fin, and that gives me the authority to verify information written as to being accurate and factual.

Force Fins are different than other fins, that is most likely why a section was dedicated to it by an unknown, unrelated wikipedia member initially. Those differences, in essence, only are stated in the text -- open foot pocket - what does that mean? It is described with reference to wikipedia defintions of the metatarsals, phlanges, etc., and direct text from patents cited with reference to the PTO. Polyurethane is distinctly used in manufacture and cited within wikipedia definition of the same. Power and recovery is essence of product differentiation and cited from PTO records... that's what you're deleting, and that is distinct, definitional, factual, and its blanket removal is hereby noticed as vandalism.

If there is something wrong with the way in which I am using this talk section, please let me know, or permission to move this text to its proper location, with advisement to me, is given. I don't have the luxury of spending as much time on the computer as others, and do my best to be appropriate. WatermanFF3 (talk) 17:34, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is a discussion at Talk:Swimfin#Force fins which is related to the rewrite you did on the Force fins section. Your input would be welcome. --RexxS (talk) 19:11, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your rollback request[edit]

Hello Clovis Sangrail, I have granted rollback rights to your account in accordance with your request. Please be aware that rollback should be used to revert vandalism/spam/blatantly unconstructive edits, and that using it to revert anything else (such as by revert-warring or reverting edits you disagree with) can lead to it being removed from your account...sometimes without any warning, depending on the admin who becomes aware of any misuse. If you think an edit should require a reason for reverting, then don't use rollback and instead, use a manual edit summary. For practice, you may wish to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 19:10, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Acupuncture/Hippotherapy[edit]

Just curious ...

Why are you reading articles on subjects you don't know anything about and wondering if you should delete "huge swathes" of them? Before you label something "pseudoscience", don't you think you should have some knowledge of the subject matter?

Why don't you try building some articles instead of tearing articles down? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.161.239.243 (talk) 01:43, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there Clovis. Instead of blanking inappropriate pages, as you did at Jamie tranter, you can tag them for deletion under CSD, using one of the templates listed under each criterion. Pioneering - about Colorado Dimensional Signs[edit]

Some things to consider:

This is a post about the pioneering and the promotion of dimensional signs in Australia. Consider the size of the US and the size of Australia. Colorado Dimensional in it's quest to promote this style of signage in Australia has been voted the "best in the world" when compared to all international exhibitors, by those best regarded to judge.

YES it may seem like promotion, but it is a hard line to draw between the promotion of an almost long lost art and those creating the art. Consider the architecture of 100 years ago when the beauty of a building was something to be admired and in todays terms these same buildings are "Heritage Listed" to protect what once was and the beginning of a "style".

This listing is about looking back in retrospect and able to pin point where "Dimensional Signs in Australia" started and who those people were to engage in a craft from times past to beautify towns etc through the medium of signs. There are notable "judges" that deem the work worthy of "the best in the world". Given that this style is new to Australia, most likely that would in fact make it notable.

I also offer a "Google" search for "dimensional signs in Australia" and truly assess if what is being undertaken is unique and worthy of (notable) reflection within AUSTRALIA. That is what makes it unique - all types of industries commence at varying points in the time line - but not necessarily in the same countries or continents.

The Truth(video game player)[edit]

You recently tagged my article for speedy deletion. What the wiki-community needs to understand is that there are things that are notable in a local setting that may not seem notable to you. when someone wins a local tournament (or 6)as is the case with "The Truth" that person is notable. I have come across several articles that provide much less information and do not cite any credible information and they are still up and well. The companies that put on these tournaments did not do a good job of keeping records so it is next to impossible to establish this notability in the fashion you are obviously expecting. In closing, you would do well to probe for articles and actually look at the notability of someone in the setting the article is written. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Harrymcdowell (talkcontribs) 19:05, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I have 73 fans on the facebook fan page and over 702 unique visitors on the website.

I really don't see why you get to decide whether it's important when you have not even heard of it, it certainly is important to members of the trans community, so give it a chance will you please?

So, if you must have your way, does the 'personal page' bit allow my fans to see what has been written and perhaps edit their own bits in?

P.S. The notices say there are no links to my wiki page from other wiki pages. I have tried to add links to the other references that are actually on wiki to point to my page but cannot since wiki claims my page does not exist. this is obviously because you/ some other wiki member has made this so before giving me a chance to add these bits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Validus.mus (talkcontribs) 13:30, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Policy on Classification by Ethnicity, Gender, Religion and Sexuality[edit]

Hi, I have a problem with the article White Argentine. In the article I mentioned many people who are Argentine by birth and by option (they immigrated when they were children and stayed in Argetnina until their death, or they are now living there). All those people mentioned in the article are perfectly Caucasian by phenotype, and all have European/Middle Eastern ancestry. To see the names, check this older version of the article, for they are now removed. This is because some users appeared criticizing the article and alleging that mentioning all those persons without a source that explicitly define them as "White Argentine/Argentinian" was a breach to Wikipedia's BLP policy. Is that true? Because I read the article of WP policy on categorization by ethnicity, gender, religion and sexuality, and the topic "Race" is still under dispute. Besides, one of the users that criticizes the article is also involved in the proposal/discussion/RfC of the policy itself. If the matter isn't still resolved, can they apply a rule that it is not fully valid yet? If I provide sources that every living Argentine mentioned in the article is of predominantly European ancestry, isn't that enough to define him/her as White? Please, help me clarify this doubt.--Pablozeta (talk) 12:29, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Failing this, I really don't know what to do other than to seek help from a more capable editor than myself. Or if it is a simple edit/s, would you mind doing it and I will leave the page alone then?

Please help to make 24/7 Real Media article neutral[edit]

Sir, another editor marked this article as not neutral, reading like advertising and the author connected to the company. Please review this article and remove whatever you think reads as an advertisement, not neutral, etc. That same editor also tagged the article is not having notability. I added several NYT, The Economist references. Many more exists in Forbes, NYT, WSJ, etc I am not sure what to do next. If you can help with edits that make this article meeting whatever requirements there are, it will be greatly appreciated. Standard2211 (talk) 03:35, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for agreeing on notability. What can I do to deserve a neutrality mark and not reading as an advertising. The article mentions the company almost going out of business and founders considering a bankruptcy. It mentions lawsuit and privacy concerns. I am not sure what else can be said beyond that. There is no mention anywhere of "leading", "solutions", "thought leadership", as you by the way may find in other wikipedia articles (like in Recyclebank). I must admit that this whole thing is slightly demoralizing. I am somewhat new to wikipedia and must admit that i find certain rules still mystifying... Thank you in advance. Occupy Marines[edit]

Clovis, I note your well-founded concerns expressed Dec. 8 as to the need for more reliable sourcing on the page Occupy Marines. Accordingly, I have taken a stab at satisfying that request by substantially rewriting ¶1 to clarify and document Occupy Marines' early timeline and to note their unknown origin, indeterminate membership and lack of ties to established veterans groups. At your convenience, please take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks. JohnValeron (talk) 03:59, 9 December 2011 (UTC)JohnValeron[reply]

Ballast Point brewing Co. editing issues[edit]

{{helpme}} Why do you keep taking down my updates? I have reviewed what is allowable and cant find anything that I am doing wrong. I have also looked at similar breweries pages and it seems that my updates follow suit with the content on their pages. Can you please explain this for me? I have been charged with getting this page current and adding more content, pics etc... Do I need to apply to be an administrator for thios page or something? I need to get this done this week! Cheers, Sdzephyr (talk) 00:45, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Content needs to be supported by reliable sources - self referenced data is not classed as a reliable source, I suspect that's why the edits were removed, also it's making that page look too much like an advertisement, which is not allowed. There are no page administrators, no one owns any page on Wikipedia, all content is added under the Creative Commons license - at the bottom of every edit page it says If you do not want your writing to be edited, used, and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here  Ronhjones  (Talk) 01:36, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} I read the reliable source info and it seems that I am compliant. I am an employee of the company and have been asked to put this information on the site. What content needs to be supported? The only place you can find info about our beers is on our website (which I am in charge of updating) or in random reviews of our beers on beer review pages, but those are public reviews, not professional. Not sure why you think it reads like an advertisement. I am stating non-biased facts in the same manner that other breweries have (see Stone Brewing Co.). The ABV and correct serving temperature of the beers are not subjective or unverifiable and I did not editorialize any of the facts. You even removed the updates that I made to our "Active Beers" list? Lil more help figuring this out please. Cheers! Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Hanoi, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ba Dinh (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The /MiniMonos wiki[edit]

Hey Chovis, It says you marked the wiki for deletion, but I don't understand why as 2 others allowed it on the previous link, I just had to change a letter in the link from Minimonos to MiniMonos. How can I fix it to avoid deletion? Thanks! ZeldaZach (talk) 06:31, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
