zte

I have undone your recent edit of zte. You must use sources that are not original research. Perhaps you should try to find another source for your edit to substantiate your claim that zte is not government owned. Also, don't accuse others of being vandals when they are using Wikipedia rules in editing an article. Please do not edit war. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:8B8C:29A0:9C33:BA9D:D7D6:172F (talk) 13:42, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You misunderstand the word original research. Wikipedia forbidden original research by wikipedia user, but not forbidden research done by professor Curtis J. Milhaupt. Matthew_hk tc 13:59, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well then replace with an approved source. The paper written on the Columbia web site still constitutes original research. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck it is a duck Sorry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:8B8C:29A0:9C33:BA9D:D7D6:172F (talk) 14:02, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop disruptive editing of the article ZTE. Perhaps, you should get an administrator to weigh in rather than continue your edit warring. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:8B8C:29A0:9C33:BA9D:D7D6:172F (talk) 14:12, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Waiting...Waiting...Waiting.... It would seem to me that it is you that doesn't understand the guidelines of original research. You shouldn't assume just because an IP makes a claim that it is incorrect. Please stop your disruptive editing of the ZTE article. Thank you for your co-operation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:8B8C:29A0:9C33:BA9D:D7D6:172F (talk) 14:22, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The source containing research done by Curtis J. Milhaupt is not original research as that policy only applies to editors. If the research is from a reliable source such as Columbia University, the source is considered reliable. Araratic | talk 14:32, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Policy nuances

Please be careful to distinguish edit warring from vandalism. I know what you're trying to say, but there are important differences in how Wikipedia treats these two. Shock Brigade Harvester Boris (talk) 14:33, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Shock Brigade Harvester Boris: When everyone saying those source are reliable and the ip user keep removing the content with invalid reason, it seem it is not an edit war but pure vandalism or disruptive editing. But, yes, if it is not pure vandalism it had to avoid 3RR. Matthew_hk tc 14:37, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring notification

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on ZTE. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. 108.53.187.44 (talk) 14:39, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:NFC, such logo can be upload to en-wiki and it-wiki separately and locally (given proper size and proper tag), but not in commons-wiki. Matthew_hk tc 11:23, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Communion and Liberation page

Hi Matthew! Sorry to bother you, but the user Jasmir54 reverted all changes I made to the aforementioned page with a generic "your work is sub standard for wiki" (he also removed the tags for POV and accuracy). I reverted his changes and left a message for him in talk. I personally believe this guy has a strong POV and, looking at how he bashed everything without any second thought, is not going to use his POV as something constructive for an overall neutral POV... if he does that again what should I do? GioA90 (talk) 19:52, 22 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

He just reverted everything back. I will report it as vandalism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GioA90 (talkcontribs) 20:16, 22 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

OCD and personal attack rapid fire spam, really

Hi, if you have any problems with my reliable and independent source Wikipedia edits please report for the third time in two days or less and this will be evaluated.

My edits ere rollbacked by other extended rights and autoconfirmed Wikipedia Users. Please stop to stalker my edits and if you really have to please keep a civil discussion tone if you don't have a any rule violation objective proof.

You accused me many times without a non personal attack objective motivation.

I hope we can be friends or at least have a good Wikipedia editors relation.

Have a nice day, peace.

NPR Newsletter No.12 30 July 2018

Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. (Purge)

Hello Matthew hk, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

June backlog drive

Overall the June backlog drive was a success, reducing the last 3,000 or so to below 500. However, as expected, 90% of the patrolling was done by less than 10% of reviewers.
Since the drive closed, the backlog has begun to rise sharply again and is back up to nearly 1,400 already. Please help reduce this total and keep it from raising further by reviewing some articles each day.

New technology, new rules
  • New features are shortly going to be added to the Special:NewPagesFeed which include a list of drafts for review, OTRS flags for COPYVIO, and more granular filter preferences. More details can be found at this page.
  • Probationary permissions: Now that PERM has been configured to allow expiry dates to all minor user rights, new NPR flag holders may sometimes be limited in the first instance to 6 months during which their work will be assessed for both quality and quantity of their reviews. This will allow admins to accord the right in borderline cases rather than make a flat out rejection.
  • Current reviewers who have had the flag for longer than 6 months but have not used the permissions since they were granted will have the flag removed, but may still request to have it granted again in the future, subject to the same probationary period, if they wish to become an active reviewer.
Editathons
  • Editathons will continue through August. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
The Signpost
  • The next issue of the monthly magazine will be out soon. The newspaper is an excellent way to stay up to date with news and new developments between our newsletters. If you have special messages to be published, or if you would like to submit an article (one about NPR perhaps?), don't hesitate to contact the editorial team here.

Go here to remove your name if you wish to opt-out of future mailings. Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 00:00, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Cray Valley PM

Hi Matthew. Just seen your comment on the Cray Valley PM AfD. The level Cray Valley play at isn't amateur – most players at this level (and the level below) are semi-professional; it's only once you get down to the county leagues that most clubs are amateur (although some still pay players). Clubs playing at Cray Valley's level have to play in a proper football ground with a minimum of 100 seats and floodlights and its not unknown for matches to attract attendances of over 1,000 (I've been to a couple of games that crossed this threshold). Players at this level are definitely not notable, but I believe that clubs are. Cheers, Number 57 09:06, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Only pro and amateur in FIFA code. pro is meant for fully-pro, it just dig too deep that passing WP:NSPORTS but have no or few non-routine coverage. Matthew_hk tc 09:07, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
What FIFA code are you talking about? (and why is it relevant?) Number 57 09:09, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Edits on Mediacorp's Wikipedia Page

Hi,

We noticed that you have added in some information on Analogue Switch Off under the ‘History’ portion on Mediacorp’s wikipedia page. We appreciate the effort but Analogue Switch Off is a government decision meant for the whole of Singapore, not just Mediacorp. Also, as the switch off is not till 31 December 2018, we should not include this information under ‘History’. We should do it only from 1 Jan 2019.

Thank you for your attention.

Hello Matthew hk. I notice you're a long time editor and you have made some comments about this article. As an admin I have been wondering how to get dispute resolution started. Most recently the dispute got rejected from WP:DRN. Since some of the other editors are new, I wonder if you could somehow nudge the others on the talk page to start using the good processes such as WP:RFC. Also, you might have some opinions you want to share as to how the discussion is going so far. I'm not sure you are aware that User:Jasmir54 got indef blocked as a sock on 30 July, which does simplify the disagreement somewhat. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 01:18, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Charlton Media Group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Xsolla

Matthew hk: I rep Xsolla and am in need of help updating its wiki page. Xsolla has rebranded and created many new products and services that need to be reflected on the page. We've developed suggested content and need to have the community approve. Would love your help.

Pgharris11 (talk) 15:58, 5 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Peter peter@theharris.agency

@Pgharris11: For content, go to Talk:Xsolla. However, wikipedia is not a webhost of advertisement. Content should mostly based on WP:secondary source. Content with promotional tone and only citing WP:Primary source may be removed entirely. Lastly such article should be in encyclopedic tone, which should be something you may be reading on a traditional encyclopedia. Matthew_hk tc 05:54, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Matthew - would you be open to reviewing the updated Xsolla content or helping us update the Xsolla page?

Discussion on Admin board.

I raised a discussion on WP:AN which you might be interested in. Regards Govvy (talk) 12:36, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

For the issue of Abhishe78, you should drop some message in his/her talk page and if he did not understand or refuse to cooperate to the discussion result of AFD and keep on recreating articles, you go to WP:ANI. It seem rude to go to WP:AN without any talk page message. For the declined speedy deletion, wait for one month or so to see Pablo Morgado Blanco the footballer made his professional debut in India or not, if not, nominate a second AFD. I personally don't prefer professional debut became a on/off switch for WP:N. Instead i preferred WP:GNG more in recent years.
