thriller 25[edit]

Hey ,you said you wanted Thriller 25 a merged article from Thriller (album). Just wondering, have you re-considered since then, now it's out? It's just we're trying to get a consensus going on the talk page. It'd be nice for you to either contribute to debate, or state if your opinion has changed. Consider how much both the articles have changed since your last imput as they have both seen changes. Realist2 (talk) 17:43, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Image:Mohamed Lotfy "Ousso".jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Mohamed Lotfy "Ousso".jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Image:Mohamed Lotfy "Ousso".jpg[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Image:Mohamed Lotfy "Ousso".jpg article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. Carlosguitar (ready and willing) 01:49, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Band[edit]

I don't know much about them. I'm studying mostly Egyptian traditional music, and contemporary composers like Halim El-Dabh. Badagnani (talk) 17:22, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Deleted Images[edit]

Hello, I'll try to help you out with whatever questions you've got. First of all - regarding the notification - you should have seen a large warning that looked like the one at {{AutoReplaceable fair use people}} when you uploaded the image. Second, none of the images you're uploading are free - and unfortunately, non-free images aren't permitted on biographies of living people or bands. I noticed that you said that Image:Hany Badry .jpg was taken on your friend's cameraphone - we can keep this if your friend chooses a free license to release the image under, such as the GFDL or CC-BY-SA. Please get back to me if any of this is unclear or you need any help. Regards, east.718 at 21:22, March 21, 2008

Where have I deleted all your images? I removed two pictures because they were copyright violations - please read over WP:COPYVIO and WP:IUP for more information. east.718 at 22:09, March 21, 2008
Images without sources get deleted too. east.718 at 22:29, March 21, 2008
Look... I know you're pissed that your images got deleted and that the image policies here suck... but continuing like this isn't helping. I'm offering to help you and you're just being obstinate. Can you please point any mislabeled images out to me? You're not doing any good by hiding them from administrators - would you like to see Wikipedia get sued over a copyvio image? Think about that. east.718 at 18:59, March 23, 2008

Your work[edit]

Hi Maged! I am going to let other members of WP:MASR rate Eftekasat, but I am glad to see you making high quality contributions to Egypt-related articles. There is a shortage of Egyptian Wikipedians, so hope you stick around and create more articles of notability. Cheers, — Zerida 03:46, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

About the pictures, I made a google search for them but I am uncertain about the copyright status of those than turned up. Why not just take pictures of them yourself next time you go to one of their concerts? Wikipedia has a very strict policy regarding copyrighted images, so your best bet is to upload your own or those taken by friends who release all their rights. I don't think I understand your question about the rating; are you asking where it is on the template itself? If you click edit, you will see it in the box. If you're asking about a description of the rating, it's explained at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Egypt/Assessment#Importance assessment. — Zerida 05:11, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There is no "voting". As I mentioned, the rating system is an informal process that anyone can do. Since you asked for input on the project's talk page, I was hoping that other members would express their opinions about it, but basically anyone can do it. Try to get one of your friends to upload the pictures themselves or email the Wikimedia Foundation with a copyright release. I suggest asking at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions to know more about the procedure. — Zerida 21:30, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Eftekasat Logo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Eftekasat Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:23, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE[edit]

Hey dude! I'd leave the Global Warming redirect there, as people will usually be searching for the phenomenon. But as for the album, sure, I guess you can move it, or if you'd like I can move it. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 04:40, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think that would be advisable, as there are some who shake their fists at such actions. Generally, very similar titles (e.g. Global Warming, Global warming) are not recommended as they may confuse some people. You're right that people would notice the typo, but we try to make the process of searching for articles as streamlined as possible, so any extra steps are a no-go. Angband (band)[edit]

Hello sir, I created an article about Angband, but It was deleted. once the creator claimed they are the first metal band from Iran to sign a deal with a European records company but didnt have enough sources, I have many sources like: www.lordsofmetal.nl , www.stormbringer.at , www.localradio.pehzeh.net www.metal-rules.com and their album has lots of good feedbacks, I created a page in my sandbox: User:Spada2/Sandbox would you please take a look at it and the question I have: can I create the page not mentioning the first band thing due to their positive feedbacks? Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:...Just Dreaming - Crematory.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:...Just Dreaming - Crematory.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Undead Warrior (talk) 16:20, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of It Really Shouldn't Be This Hard[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article It Really Shouldn't Be This Hard, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Band fails WP:MUSIC, see The Mystic Underground.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
