A book project

I have been working on Ian's Walk, and have done some userspace work on it. I am having trouble finding any reviews that I can access, if you have a minute over the weekend can you have a look, I will not be doing much on here until Tuesday at the earliest. If not maybe Dr. Mack Daddy can have a look too. A lot of the searching comes up with it as being recommended reading for parents with children with autism. Thanks for any help you can provide. --kelapstick(bainuu) 05:46, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

I just emailed you reviews from School Library Journal and Horn Book Magazine. I'm unable to see this reference as I can only get 2002-2012 articles.... Mandel, Ellen. Booklist. 04/01/98, Vol. 94 Issue 15, p1331. 1/6p. Bgwhite (talk) 06:45, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
I'll have a look on tomorrow (or the next day if my boy doesn't clear up soon, rough night it was). Thanks to both of you! Taking my daughter to her first embassy today. Hopefully we don't get the boot! Enjoy the rest of your weekends. --kelapstick(bainuu) 23:54, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
I hope your son feels better soon. Have a good time with your daughter! I hope some of what I found will be useful to you. LadyofShalott 00:02, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
I had a quick look, and I think that it will be quite useful. It's 8:15 and he hasn't moved from our bed, even though he has been awake since at least 6:30, so I think he is going to take it easy again today. As for my daughter, it's more making sure she stays on the train on the way in that will be a challenge, but she quite likes to wander around the city, should be a good time. She might have to have a babychino at one of the cafe's. --kelapstick(bainuu) 00:17, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
I just did some work on it, but am not completely happy with it, it might take a few days for me to drum up the ambition to finish it (whatever that means). Thanks both for the great help! The trip into the city was fun, but completely useless, I don't understand why there is a Canadian consulate that doesn't actually provide consular services to Canadians. --kelapstick(bainuu) 05:34, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

[1] It's a hoax because there are no "five founding officers of the Royal Tank Regiment"; this is the third time this article's been created today after being speedied twice before. But if it has to be AfD, then AfD it'll have to be. George Ponderevo (talk) 22:59, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

OK, I wasn't really doubting that it was a hoax, but it was not so obvious to me, as I said before. Your basis for concluding it was a hoax was not stated and not something I could figure out. Assuming it is deleted in AfD, it will become G4-deletable in any future recreations. LadyofShalott 23:04, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
I was looking for some way to explain why I thought it was a hoax, but maybe I missed it. And I guess if it wasn't obvious to you then maybe it's not such an obvious hoax after all. Anyway, I'll PROD it now.
I have a problem though with an article I'd like to create on the real Arthur Griffiths, as presumably this one or an earlier incarnation is blocking it. Could the current article be moved to something like Arthur griffiths (Army officer) pending a conclusion to the PROD? George Ponderevo (talk) 23:14, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
Well as this one is improperly capitalized, I'd think Arthur Griffiths should still work if there isn't some other article there. LadyofShalott 23:17, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
There is. See also Arthur Griffiths (disambiguation), and try to come up with a suitable disambiuation term for yours. LadyofShalott 23:18, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
Ah, thanks. I just didn't think of the obvious. George Ponderevo (talk) 23:25, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
I know that feeling. :) LadyofShalott 23:26, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Solution: Redirect Arthur griffithsArthur Griffiths, leave a note on the talk page why it was redirected rather than being kept as the "hoax" article, and a link to where an article about an army officer should be created at (Arthur Griffiths (British Army officer)). Watchilst the target and if it is created, take it to AfD to prevent future recreation under G5 G4. No immediate deletion requried, everyone can go have a coffee. --kelapstick(bainuu) 23:38, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
You're a crafty one. George Ponderevo (talk) 00:00, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

You have to watch those Austral-Mongol-Canadians without real consulates! LadyofShalott 00:32, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
Hehe. --kelapstick(bainuu) 01:59, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
On the assumption that the Arthur Griffiths you're thinking of is the prison administrator and author born in 1838, who has an ODNB article, I've just created Arthur Griffiths (author) and updated the disambiguation page. It's only a one line stub, but it resolves the issue. Malleus Fatuorum 12:25, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
Well played Malleus. --kelapstick(bainuu) 13:52, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. Yes, that was the Arthur Griffiths I was thinking of. I've been going through the ODNB in a desultory sort of way checking to see if everyone in there has an article on here, and for some reason I was completely thrown last night when I found I couldn't move Arthur griffiths to Arthur Griffiths. Rather embarrassing really. George Ponderevo (talk) 18:25, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

Sorry for not catching the edits/links I just broke on David R. Hawkins quick enough. Was removing large sections of the article that were just promotional more or less and didn't see it. CSD question/rant

I was just removing my speedy deletion tag from How to write a artical (that was a title I hated to nominate for deletion!), when it got deleted. I am not in any way criticizing the admin who deleted it, because it was obviously absolutely 100% without a doubt the right thing to do. But technically, as crazy as it seems, as of May 22, R3 is no longer a valid speedy deletion criterion after a page move, even for a brand new page titled "How to write a artical". Are we really expected to waste everyone's time taking things such as this to RFD? (BTW, when I was trying to remove the tag, I had no intention of taking it to RFD; I was just going to let the redirect stand.) I guess one could sort of sneak this in with a G6, but R3 was logical and worked fine in such situations for years. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 11:02, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

Wow, I did not know that R3 now specifically excludes redirects created by page moves; I agree that in cases like this RfD seems ridiculous. On the other hand, I have seen redirects created by pages I moved be speedily deleted as R3, even though I didn't think they were all that implausible. I looked the CSD page and saw the footnote explaning this new rule. I haven't yet seen the talk page, where I assume this was discussed before the policy was changed? You might want to raise this case there as one that should still be allowed. LadyofShalott 13:40, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply. BTW, non-admin stalkers, the original article artical before the move was not speedyable, so G8 didn't apply. The CSD discussion's been archived, but I may bring it up if I'm feeling motivated. I do very few deletion nominations these days, and it doesn't really hurt to have useless and ridiculous redirects hanging around, so it certainly doesn't matter much. Maybe it seemed more important in my sleep-deprived-4-a.m.-state. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 21:39, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
The reason that they wouldn't be speediable after a page move is likely so the original author knows where to find the article. In 2009 I found Blair (poet) created under Blair (Poet and Singer/Songwriter from Detroit, MI). I rewrote it and moved it, didn't CSD it. I am not sure if R3 would have applied at the time, but three years later I RfDd it. The only "keep" made sense as to why one would not speedy delete a redirect by page move. Not the link rot and redirects are cheap part, but would the original author be able to find the article in the future if the redirect were not kept (if they had bookmarked the page for example). For something like "How to write a artical" linking to a biography, I would say that is an IAR speedy delete if the criteria does not apply because its not for page moves. It's not really a typo or misnomer, it's just a ridiculous name. Now when I nominate a redirect for deletion, I make a note on the creators talk page as to where to find the article, should they be looking for it. Just as a courtesy. If R3 doesn't apply you could always do an IAR CSD using {{db-reason}} just explaining it. For reason I would say "R3 doesn't apply, but this is a ridiculous redirect, the title is completely unrelated to the target". Might save some time, or might not. --kelapstick(bainuu) 22:49, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
The findable-by-author situation isn't really relevant. The article originally titled How to write a artical was a biography of an Indian child actor with the same name as the author's username, and someone moved it to the proper title. If they can't find the probable autobiography based on their own (user)name, they could check their contributions, where it will appear as though they created it with its current title. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 23:36, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
I agree that in this case it shouldn't be kept for findability, but the wording would not have been changed for this type of scenario, hence the db-reason bypass. Also someone who created an article at the "how to" title probably doesn't know how to check their contributions yet, which is why telling them where the article was moved to might be helpful. Not that I completely agree with the R3 wording, but I can see where it is coming from. --kelapstick(bainuu) 00:02, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
It does appear the "no moves" it is not a universally held standard. --kelapstick(bainuu) 05:06, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
I'm guessing that not many people know about it. It was a change made less than two months ago, after a brief discussion among very few users, to a very longstanding but not very important criterion which one wouldn't expect to change. I only discovered it because I hadn't done an R3 in a long time and wanted to make sure it was correct. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 07:06, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
Something like that really should be publicized more (a) before the change to make sure there is real consensus, but especially (b) after the change so all, definitely including admins, know it has been made. I'm glad you made me aware of it. LadyofShalott 17:53, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

Off topic, but CSD related, I just nominated أسئلة واجوبة as a duplicate of FAQ (left a rough translation from Arabic on the talk page). Wouldn't be elighible for {{db-notenglish}} as there is no ar.wikipedia page. Acceptable nomination? I don't think I have gone this route before, although I have nominated non-english articles for other reasons before (I think). Just curious. --kelapstick(bainuu) 00:48, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

I would think so, and so apparently did RHaworth. LadyofShalott 17:53, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

Sophie Reiser CSD

Hi Lady, re the Sophie_Reiser recent CSD by Sir Sputnik: my interest is as the reviewer who accepted the article for the same reason you declined the CSD. I am puzzled by the fact that the reason Sir Sputnik gave for the CSD does not relate to the reason you declined his request. I have these questions:

  • Was the article previously raised at AfD, or not? And
  • if it was, how could I tell?
  • Should I be checking every AfC for this? (I am a new reviewer but have done quite a lot of articles in the few weeks I have been busy).

Perhaps also see the earlier note I had dropped on the contributor's Talk page (I tried to explain why some players' articles were being accepted and others' declined). Regards, David_FLXD (Talk) 03:39, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi David. Yes, it was deleted because of a previous AfD. Generally if you do a search on the name, you should find any prior AfDs for subjects, and, yes, it's probably a good idea to check for them. (Of course you can sometimes miss them if the new article is titled differently, but generally you should be able to find them.) In this case, I don't quite understand that AfD close, but I am not a sports person. LadyofShalott 14:35, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

Mesriani Law Group

Hello LadyofShalott,

I just noticed your deletion of the Mesriani Law Group's article page. I am new user here in Wikipedia, so pardon me for what I wrote there. Really, I tried to be unbiased and try to make it encyclopedic as possible, but I really don't know what to do with it now that it is deleted. Escalating situation

I think your advice here [2] is great, but it doesn't help the situation when another user takes the time to infer to his compatriots [3] [4] to "stop letting the trolls bait you". I have not been involved with this situation as much as I would like to be, because of just how ugly it has gotten over several AFD's, user talk pages, and now the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Dungeons & Dragons talk page. It's a damn shame, and since neither side wants to let the other one "win", I don't know how far this is going to go. BOZ (talk) 13:46, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Hey, Lady, I saw that you declined the speedy on We Are Kooki. Looking at the source for the Guardian thing, it appears to be self-published from this program, so I don't see how it's a credible claim of significance; am I missing something? Writ Keeper 18:23, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

I may err a little to the lenient side with the "credible" part of that criterion, but what I'm basing it on is the "winning entry" bit. That's enough to me to decline an A7, but in no way am I claiming the company is notable or that the article could survive AfD. LadyofShalott 18:31, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
Ah, okay, I see what you mean. I only saw the bottom set of dates on this page, which made me think the contest wasn't over yet, so they couldn't possibly have actually won it. Hi LadyofShalott! Hope you're doing good. I wanted your help on Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Anarchopedia. It is a draft article which i had started almost three months ago but haven't completed it till now. You are a perfect article creator and content writer :) so i needed your help on this as you are a very experienced and a great editor! I just want to make sure that the draft article is able to meet all the minimum requirements of a stub or anything else or also if you can improve it much more than that so that there is high chance that the article reviewer accepts and approves it to move it to article mainspace. I started this article originally after seeing it on Simple English Wikipedia and some part is based on it, but i have just learned that unfortunately it has been deleted there, (see simple:Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2012/Anarchopedia). I am not sure what needs to be done now, should i continue with your help to create the article or just get it deleted ? Regards. TheGeneralUser (talk) 17:49, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi, TGU! First off, thanks for the smile further up my page. :) Now, as for this article, it's an interesting little stub, but are there any secondary sources about Anarchopedia? I'm looking in Google Books and Scholar and not coming up with anything. I'll try some other databases, but I'm afraid lack of sourcing may be the downfall of this article. hi lady! the review page seems confusing and I need another administrator to review it there if I request it. what to do?--Neogeolegend (talk) 03:39, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

You need to start a discussion under the new date (8 August) listing the deleted templates and making your case of why you think the discussion was improperly ended. Sign your comments, of course. Don't worry about "need[ing] another administrator to review it". Once the discussion is started, people will come to comment; given the highly controversial nature of your templates, I expect there will be many people chiming in on the discussion. Eventually, an uninvolved administrator will close the discussion. LadyofShalott 03:55, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

AWB

File:Belyastarecweliste.jpg
Hi, I'm Tsagan Aav from Elista, and I'm not a stupid boilerplate talk page notice from a robot. Have you seen my better looking friend made by Н. Эледжиев in 1998? How come he got to have the traditional wooden staff, huh? I used to be a fertility deity, you know. But that all changed when I met Buddha, who was out on a walk one day, and got all syncretized. And the damn stuff doesn't wash off.

Hi, I'm Drmies. Let's hope he learned something from your note. Hey, thanks for your help with those shamanism articles. I'm thinking of putting up yellow, black, and Dayan Deerh in a triple DYK. I can't do much more with Bgwhite's uncle. Drmies (talk) 17:56, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

Incidentally, what he says is absolutely not true. There is not a single thing that's a mandatory edit in AWB. As you know, I use AWB occasionally (hehe), and I never add those horrid orphan tags. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 20:15, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Perhaps he needs lessons. That orphan tag seems to me to be the most useless of tags. I can see some point, but it should go on the talk page. I guess that's one of those things where no consensus can be reached. The shamanism articles are interesting. BTW, did you know where WP:LADY points? LadyofShalott 20:51, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I agree that orphan tags would be more appropriate on talk pages. I didn't know about WP:LADY until yesterday, when I saw someone (probably Drmies) use it. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 21:30, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
I had hoped that it was a red link. Lady, that change (ACCESS?) resulted from a discussion on MF's talk page, no? It was too technical for me but I'll be happy to comply; I learned that semi-colon business from Ucucha's articles. Mandarax, can you please enlighten this person about these AWB technicalities? I hate that orphan tag as well, and have gotten into one or two fist fights--one, I think, with OhConfucious. Or maybe you can just remove that functionality, or change it? Drmies (talk) 21:55, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
I did learn about it from a discussion on MF's page, yes. (I don't know how long it's been in the WP:ACCESS rules.) Apparently the semi-colon thing (which I used to do as well) does something weird with screenreaders. That's enough of a reason for me to do it the other way. LadyofShalott 22:24, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Orphans have been discussed regarding AWB, and I'm pretty sure nothing's gonna change until there's consensus about changing the tag usage in general. There's an AWB option to only add orphan tags to linkless pages; but to never add any, you'd have to do something such as turning off "Auto tag" (which also disables some other tagging) or manually removing the tag before saving. So when he says "I can't remove the tag", that's just not true. All AWB users are personally responsible for the edits they make, and "I use AWB semi-automated" is never a good reason for making an edit. But he hasn't done anything wrong....

Note: you changed semicolon markup to bold, but according to WP:ACCESS#Headings you shouldn't use either. Incidentally, I think the reason given for avoiding links in section headings was also accessibility-related, although now I don't see heading links mentioned on the Access page, and I don't see accessibility mentioned at MOS:HEAD. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 00:13, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

FYI... "There's an AWB option to only add orphan tags to linkless pages" This is turned on by default. The criteria states only linkless pages should be tagged. If anybody is adding the orphan tag when the article is not linkless should be told not to do it and be forced to listen to the WP:LADY for 24 hours straight. Oh, there is another "Person on Twitter" article at AfD. Bgwhite (talk) 00:34, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
Mandarax, you're right that ACCESS does say that. (I'd known it, but forgotten about it until you reminded me.) I don't know a really good reason for that one; do you? BG, you mention that, but are making me go hunt it? Sheesh. ;) Oh, and at least one person is adding orphan to pages that aren't linkless - someone readded the tag to one of these new articles Drmies has been making after I had de-orphaned and removed the tag the first time. LadyofShalott 01:35, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
Grrr, I just went looking for the twitter article, but I can't find it. I swear I saw. I'm losing my mind. Bgwhite (talk) 02:17, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

So Mandarax, what do I do? I thought initially that level-3 headings (===) would be the way to go, then I saw Ucucha's work, now the Lady is correcting me, now you're correcting the Lady--Hi, I'm Drmies and I don't know what's right anymore. Can you go around with your AWB tool and set everything straight? Drmies (talk) 04:20, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Lady, I don't know the reason, but my guess is that it's because people using screen readers need to be able to navigate through an article easily via the table of contents. Drmies, based on my guess, I'd say yes, in general, the next smaller heading level would be correct. In this specific instance I'd say it doesn't matter much. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 05:17, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
Lady, the other user you referred to was Hebrides, whom I left a bitchy note (without "Hi, I'm Drmies") and they were kind enough to do something about the problem and not bitch back at me. See User_talk:Hebrides#AWB.2C_orphan. Drmies (talk) 14:21, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion of Erick Baker

Hello, I wrote the article for Erick Baker. I was wondering if you could give me some specifics as to why it was deleted so that I could make it suitable for wikipedia standards. thank you!

gokul — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pilaplu (talkcontribs) 13:32, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi Pilaplu, first, since you obviously want to get this article in shape, I have userfied it for you at User:Pilaplu/Erick Baker. You can work on it there until ready to go back into mainspace.
Now, to address your question: it's some of the description. Phrases like "passionate lyrics and emotional live performances" sound like you are trying to sell Baker and his work. However, if you can find places to quote things like that such as "Musician Magazine has praised his 'passionate lyrics'..."[full citation]" that's great; it shows that it isn't just your personal commentary. I hope this helps. If you have further questions, or if I can help you, let me know! LadyofShalott 03:06, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks so much! I'll have another draft up in the next day or so.

Much appreciated, Gokul

Hi again. That's start. You really need some more references though for two reasons: (1) there is still a lot of unreferenced material there, and (2) I'm not sure notability has really been demonstrated yet with the two sources you have there. I would not speedily delete this version, but I think it would be likely that someone would nominate it at Articles for Deletion. You also need to wikify it some, but the referencing is the real concern. Cheers, LadyofShalott 01:14, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

Hello LadyofShalott!

I added a couple more sources to the article. Does it look like enough? Sorry it took me some time to get back to you, i didn't have internet access for a week. thanks!

My new project - WWC

Hi Lady! I hope all is well. I wanted to stop by to share a new project with you that I am developing, called the WikiWomen's Collaborative. I would love your input about the project.

WWC needs you!
  • You can find the project page here.
  • On the talk page, you'll find a number of questions I'm seeking input on. I'm especially seeking thoughts about hosting the space off of Wikipedia (in the WordPress section). I hope you will join in on the conversation.
  • Finally, this project will be developed with volunteers from around the world who want to engage and support bringing new women and transwomen to Wikipedia. If you think you'd like to be involved in some capacity, that'd be awesome. We're still working on developing roles, but, you can learn more about volunteer opportunities here.

Thank you for the consideration and I hope you'll participate in developing this exciting new project to bring more women to Wikipedia! SarahStierch (talk) 22:59, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

  • Thanks for letting me know, Sarah. I'll go take a look. LadyofShalott 01:27, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

    • Drmies, take a look - there is a place at the table for "allies" as well as women. LadyofShalott 03:09, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
      • I want to be invited, Lady--ain't I a woman? BTW, did you see that Category for deletion note on my talk page? Also, I'm working on a hook: DYK...that Mongolian shamanism, both yellow and black, reveres a white old man besides ongod such as Dayan Deerh? Drmies (talk) 03:45, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
        • I'll leave you to answer the question of your gender identity. ;) I've already commented in the CfD. A sextuple DYK! This set of articles you've been doing is a great addition to the encyclopedia - quite a hole you found. (Whenever I see something like this I want to shout "look! look!" at the morons who keep calling the project complete.) You know, I often find the DYK process off-putting, but it is a way of shouting "Look! There's new stuff to be added still! Take a gander at this huge hole in Mongolian shamanism that we've started filling." LadyofShalott 03:56, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
          • Thanks. But it's Kelapstick who prompted it, Bgwhite who commented, and Uncle G who turned all that into an encyclopedic possibility. Funny, but we are filling a hole. Yes, six--I'm having a hard time containing it all and there's some copying and pasting, so all of them need proper expansion, esp. Gotta run, more later, perhaps. Have a great day! Drmies (talk) 15:46, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
          • See User:Uncle G/Missing encyclopaedic articles, where all of these, including the equestrian deities, would have gone if people hadn't picked up the ball. The idea that we're anywhere near some sort of Wikipedia:concept limit is pure baloney.

The more that I read on Sagaan Ubgen, by the way, the more that I think that we were in the position equivalent to having a one paragraph article on Santa Claus. And that comparison isn't even an original one on my part. I can cite sources that make it.

            Uncle G (talk) 19:25, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

I've added your missing articles page to my watchlist. You and I are in complete agreement about the "concept limit" hooey. Have you seen Lala de Cezique? That's a 2-sentence stub I created because I ran across that information in the reference cited; then I came here hoping to find more, instead found nothing. I hope one day either I or someone else will find more to add to that stub. (Surely someone has written more about her work, even if nothing else is known of her life?) LadyofShalott 02:11, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

  • Well, I'm reading Atwood, "Buddhism and Popular Ritual", and I may have to go back and problematize some of those articles. We need an article on the two-tier model of religion advocated by Hume, among others, and criticized by Peter Brown (historian) and Atwood. Lady, we're making progress; it's almost 2AM and this boy might be out before the end of the nurses' shift, at 7. Who needs sleep? Drmies (talk) 06:42, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Tengri

I have e-mailed you the relevant content on the Highbeam site, not knowing if you have access to it. Unfortunately, there isn't much on it, and many of the articles contain only brief mentions, and most of that seems to be related to "tengri" in a broader sense. JSTOR has rather a bit more, but I'm not an individual subscriber myself, and probably won't be at a site with full access to it until Monday. I don't know how much of the content there relates to this specific Tengri, but I will forward any I see then. I'll check the other banks then as well. If little of it does, then I'll probably send only those articles which have significant content related to the subject. I do get the impression myself that Dayisun tngri is a local name of the older Mongol god Tengri, and that maybe most of the content available is relevant to that topic, but I'll know better Monday. John Carter (talk) 19:48, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

  • Thank you, John! LadyofShalott 22:49, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
    • What a wealth of information you've found! It's going to take me sometime to read through it all, let alone incorporate relevant bits into appropriate articles, but this should all really help. Thanks again!! LadyofShalott 23:31, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
      • Hey, Lady, I don't know how serious Drmies was about a joint DYK for yours and mine, but whether or no, could you help me with the DYK process? It's totally new to me (normally, I'd ask Drmies, but I have a feeling he'll have some off-wiki business to take care of). Writ Keeper 02:03, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
        • Writ Keeper, it is easy. There's five days from the creation of the first (??? I thought it was more?) to compile a hook and write up the template. Then, if you put in the nomination, you actually don't have to do a quid-pro-quo review, but that's cheating a bit. What I think you should consider is writing as many of these as you can, and make 'em look good, and stick em together in a hook. The Lady and I will help, and so will Mandarax, no doubt. Drmies (talk) 02:59, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Try tngri in addition to tengri. Then try Köke Möngke Tngri, Möngke Tngri, and Erketü Tngri, all of which are names for Eternal Blue Heaven, the head of the 99 tngri. (For more on this, see what Emyrpugh wrote on Talk:Hohhot#The Name of the City.) We don't have Qormusata Tngri a.k.a Qormusta either. Uncle G (talk) 14:48, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
  • You'll find that Special:Whatlinkshere/Köke Möngke Tngri now includes Mongolia–Japan relations, which latter requires your powers of de-orphaning before the AWB people get at it. Uncle G (talk) 21:25, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Urgh. I need to get back on there. I was both overwhelmed with the volume of information that John Carter found me, and underwhelmed with the specific information on the one I started. There is more though, and I need to get on it. I just created Category:Mongolian shamanism. Please add to it as appropriate. LadyofShalott 03:06, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Urgh indeed. I need to do one more review for that double DYK (Writ Keeper is out of commission for a little while) and I just nominated another DYK of my own (one of those boring ones, haha). Getting all the reviews for the seven-fold DYK was a bitch as well. Hey, the baby appears to be sleeping, that's the good news. I need to get to bed before he wakes up. Drmies (talk) 03:54, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Sleep well while you can! :) I saw WK's unfortunate news. LadyofShalott 04:02, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
  • I did a second review (on an interesting article). I'm going to let it run; if you have anything to add before it gets reviewed, feel free to comment at the nomination, and drop me a line. Drmies (talk) 03:12, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

The following discussion has been closed. Please do not modify it.

I appreciate your previous consideration on David R. Hawkins. I still contest the deletion of the article. I feel that Wikipedia is primary source information for many people to inquire about people just like this author. I also think this particular deletion was the personal quest of primarily one person and not truly a consensus of informed people engaged in its content. I may cross check a site for WP:Reliable and it either meets or does not meet standard, and another person may interpret that standard differently, that is the nature of this forum; yet when one person consistently interprets a variety sources as "unreliable" on the same article and dedicates their purpose for editing it to solely that cause, that is merely bias and not the way it is intended to function here. I know that you are well aware of that concern but it is something that I must state in regards to this article and its multiple deletion requests in the last month by the same individual. The author is obviously notable, more so than many here, and this is not a "court of law" in that respect. Many sources and points listed previously by various editors were of reliable origin but simply contested to achieve the removal of article. I do respect your fair opinion. Iconoclast.Horizon (talk) 03:52, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Also, I feel that the notability issue has been "proven" on numerous occasions with this author by various contributions from several editors with reliable independent sources, not just this time but on previous incarnations. So though I contest the deletion, I do not take you up on your charge to further "prove it". Iconoclast.Horizon (talk) 03:58, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
So you say, but you never even tried to argue that this source or that source were good and showed notability. You just keep hollering "he's obviously notable" without discussing what specific sources you think make him so. LadyofShalott 04:04, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
I looked at the history, and the last AfD discussion is pretty clear; it was closed properly. You can make your case at Wikipedia:Deletion review, but I don't think you'll have much luck there. Sorry. Drmies (talk) 04:14, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
To clarify, I did discuss/dispute with the editor who has been deleting the majority of the text at the time of the articles recreation and there were other editors and admins involved in those discussions a few weeks ago, who agreed the article was sourced well enough. At the time those sources were agreed upon as reliable. I had not checked on the article in the last the last few weeks, while the primary editor targeting the article for deletion removed the references and attempted another speedy delete. I only became aware that the article's content had again been removed and targeted for both Speedy Delete and AfD. No matter, I won't "holler" any further in regards to this individual. Thanks. Iconoclast.Horizon (talk)
Your discussions with that editor individually are one thing. When an article is nominated at AfD though, the discussion is with more than one editor. That's where you really needed to make the case that "these specific sources..." (whichever they were) that you think show him to be notable do. It is not just a discussion between two editors. You may recall that I am one of the admins from a few weeks ago: I did the undeletion when you contested the prior prod, and I specifically said that it was poorly sourced and advised you to improve it lest it be nominated at AfD. LadyofShalott 04:44, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
I do recall your role in the undeletion and your specific comment. It was various editors and admins that agreed on the sources at the time, as to continue with the article content. It was pared down considerably but was left with enough content and sources to build upon. It was primarily one editor who attempted multiple Speedy Deletions on the first days it was recreated, who later came back to contest the sources again. So the work to improve the article at your suggestion was done by various editors. It has come done to primarily a single editor who chose to contest it for his own reasons. Regardless, I didn't catch that the article was targeted for AfD or Speedy Delete in the last week, until earlier today. Again, its fine and played out as it did. I made my points today about the article and ran out of time to locate sources. As I did a few weeks ago, I feel people should be able to find both the good and bad about this author from a concise quick source, and that is what I feel Wikipedia excels at. Beyond that people should further research people like Dr. Hawkin's of their own accord. Iconoclast.Horizon (talk) 05:06, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
Lady, I was unaware that posting that information on the AfD Talk was in violation of Wikipedia Policy, it was not intended to '"rehash" or recreate the article itself. Thanks Iconoclast.Horizon (talk) 03:31, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

I'll only have to stay in country one extra week to make it. Just have to convince Mrs. Kelapstick that I should attend (and work an extra few days). --kelapstick(bainuu) 06:19, 25 August 2012 (UTC)

WP:NRVE Clearly states: " Notability requires only the existence of suitable independent, reliable sources, not their immediate citation. Wikipedia articles are not a final drafts and an article's subject can be notable if such sources exist, even if they have not been named yet..."; if contested, "..if it is likely that significant coverage in independent sources can be found for a topic, deletion due to lack of notability is inappropriate.". --Iconoclast.Horizon (talk) 04:53, 25 August 2012 (UTC)

You are the only one arguing that it is even likely these sources exist though. In such a case, an article will be deleted unless they are shown to exist. (BTW, when quoting material and adding emphasis, you should note that the emphasis has been added.) LadyofShalott 05:05, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
There is more than sufficient evidence to show his notability, at least five major internationally known public figure endorsements, Oprah Winfrey Interview, Linus Pauling co-authored book, his Power vs. Force, etc and a half a page of secondary source links, etc. There were references there before one editor chose to delete them; found dozens references and added them. It was shown that this met NRVE. WOW! So are you suggesting that it is not likely sources would exist in this case? Hmmm, I just have to disagree. All of this had been shown and was also progressing early in the article re-creation. No need to answer that. --Iconoclast.Horizon (talk) 05:36, 25 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi! Hope everything's well. I was searching for the article titled Bangla (band) and found that it was deleted on 20 December 2007 because of lack of significance of the band. I want to rewrite the article with providing proper reliable sources claiming the band's notability. It would be helpful for me if you can userfy the deleted article in the draft space User:Kmzayeem/Bangla (band). Thanks --Zayeemtalk 17:07, 25 August 2012 (UTC)

 Done LadyofShalott 17:39, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks a lot, is it the full article which was deleted?? --Zayeemtalk 18:18, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes, the full article with its complete history. :) LadyofShalott 18:20, 25 August 2012 (UTC)

Please

Hi Lady, would you please take a look at this?. Am I wrong?. Thanks.Justice007 (talk) 01:59, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

Well, I'm not familiar with the MeriNews site which others have criticised; you might ask at WP:RSN for an opinion about it. The Google books links and the university bio though do nothing to establish notability. LadyofShalott 02:23, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

Ian's Walk

I moved Ian's Walk to mainspace. It is DYKable, but I couldn't come up with a hook. If you think of anything let me know. Thanks for the help with it (you too BG). --kelapstick(bainuu) 06:27, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

DYK... that a picture book can help children understand behaviors of those with autism?
Not terribly "hooky" maybe - except for those parents and teachers dealing with autism - but it's factual. LadyofShalott 13:20, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
Still suitable, I will see if I can drum up the time this arvo to nominate it. Thanks Lady. --kelapstick(bainuu) 22:53, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
Arvo? LadyofShalott 01:20, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, that's my Australian coming through. Afternoon. --kelapstick(bainuu) 02:07, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

Slightly better perhaps:

Why is Pankaj Biswas's redirect to Pankaj Kapur a valid redirect? §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 18:22, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

Well the speedy crirerion was that it was a self-redirect, which it's not. If you want to argue it's not a valid redirect for some other reason, go ahead. LadyofShalott 19:33, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
WP:CSD#G8 includes redirects to bad titles. §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 19:48, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
It's not a bad title though. I think you are thinking "from bad (incorrect) titles". Sounds like what you actually needed to use was R3. LadyofShalott 19:55, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
Would you delete it if i tag it with R3 now? §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 20:08, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes. LadyofShalott 20:10, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

Well, another admin declined it before I returned. LadyofShalott 01:19, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
