February 2023[edit]

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to Amitabh Thakur, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 08:17, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It was not a mistake. It was a very old Photo of Amitabh Thakur. Hence I am replacing it with a new Photo. I hope it explains my move. Regards and Thanks. Goodwikie (talk) 08:20, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Goodwikie. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Amitabh Thakur, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Dear Mr/Ms Madaunt, I make it very clear that I have a direct conflict of interest with the following-
(1) Amitabh Thakur
(2) Nutan Thakur
I am not a paid employee nor are they my client but it is an extremely close association. It is for these reasons that I am specially interested in their pages and issues related with them on other pages. But at the same time, I make it clear that I have not presented a single incorrect or untrue fact on these pages nor will it be done in the future. It is also not advertising but merely an attempt to bring the true facts about them. Kindly allow me to look after the pages associated with them where I shall be immensely truthful and shall be based solely on facts and evidences.
At the same time, I shall also be undertaking editing ad contributing in all other possible ways to Wikipedia in an equally dispassionate, neutral and fact-based and evidence-based manner.
Regards,

Kindly do not remove the contents of Rajnath Singh page, which would be highly improper.
I have not added any defamatory content to Wikipedia, as in case of Rajnath Singh. Every thing I have stated is based completely on reliable and respectable magazines articles, already in public domain.
Every statement is based on facts, with definite evidences in public records.
Similarly there has been no violation of copyright infringement.
The material written by me needs to be presented in the article because it is based purely on public documents of extremely reliable acceptability.
Removing them would be shielding truth. Goodwikie (talk) 11:42, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I find that you have removed the contents related with Rajnath Singh, despite their being based completely on facts and statements in reputable public documents. Why? Goodwikie (talk) 12:00, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Are you being paid to edit any of their Wikipedia articles? If so, you must declare that according to Wikimedia Terms of Conditions. See WP:PAIDDaxServer (t · m · e · c) 11:30, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not at all. It is all a voluntary act. In fact, I have clearly declared that I am related to the above three, but it is not on some payment basis, but is a purely voluntary act, on my own sweeet will.
It is also being prayed that I have not added any defamatory content to Wikipedia, as in case of Rajnath Singh. Every thing I have stated is based completely on reliable and respectable magazines articles, already in public domain.
Every statement is based on facts, with definite evidences in public records.
I also did not remove the {{copyvio/core}} template from articles, in Rajnath Singh article. I don't know how it happened.
As said previously, I was only in the midst of process and there has been no intent to copyright violation in any manner. Goodwikie (talk) 11:36, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What is your relation to Azad Adhikar Sena ? — DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 11:47, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Azad Adhikar Sena is a political party with which I as well as Amitabh Thakur and Nutan Thakur are related.
At the same time, I once again request about my edits on Rajnath Singh which are purely in interest of truth. Goodwikie (talk) 11:50, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What is your relation with Kusum Rai? Goodwikie (talk) 12:51, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And what is your relation to Kusum Rai ? — DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 11:49, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No relation, but it is rather strange and troubling to see that the contents of Kusum Rai have also been removed, despite being based solely on facts on record and many documentary evidences being produced in support of the writings.
I shall certainly write them again because they are based only on materials on record in public domain, unless you have any specific logical reason against them. Goodwikie (talk) 11:53, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I find that it is you who have removed the contents from Kusum Rai. May I know the reasons please. This prima-facie seems completely incorrect and against the basic tenets of Wikipedia's policy Goodwikie (talk) 11:57, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Kindly undo your actions in Rajnath Singh and Kusum Rai case, unless you have definite reasons for doing so. Goodwikie (talk) 12:01, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Since you are deeply involved, you may propose your changes on the talk pages using {{edit COI}} template. — DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 12:29, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What is your relationship with Lalji Tandon ? — DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 12:31, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop adding bunch of gossip. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a tabloid — DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 12:43, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Kindly don't come in the way of truth and real facts. Wikipedia does not come in the way of truth in any manner.
I have not presented a single word without adequate proof from extremely reliable public documents.
You somehow seem to be associated with them and shielding them.
Now it is my turn to ask you a few questions to bring forth the reasons for your actions. Goodwikie (talk) 12:49, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have no relation at all with Lalji Tandon. No relation in any manner.
Similarly, I have no relation at all with Kalyan Singh, Kusum Rai and Rajnath Singh.
I have presented facts only and solely on the basis of documents on record. Goodwikie (talk) 12:46, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What is your relation with Rajnath Singh? Goodwikie (talk) 12:51, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What is your relation with Kalyan Singh? Goodwikie (talk) 12:52, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your recent actions and reactions vis-a-vis the writings made by me as regards Lalji Tandon, Rajnath Singh, Kalyan Singh and Kusum Rai seems to give a clear inference that you have close association with BJP.
Kindly state the truth in this regards please. Goodwikie (talk) 12:55, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 12:26, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have not made a single addition to any living person's page without being backed by definite evidences, in the shape of articles from reliable sources. Again, I have presented articles in large number which state the same thing, thereby forming a strong proof in this regards.
Kindly don't unnecessarily try to brand them as contentious without any definite reasons. Goodwikie (talk) 12:58, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please read WP:NOTNEWS. Wikipedia is not a tabloid. Just because something is in the news articles, doesn't mean we have to add them in Wiki. If necessary, get WP:CONSENSUS in the respective talk pages. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:21, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If there is one or two article anywhere, it can be a different thing, but when almost every news article states the same fact, it cannot be called rumour.
Kindly don't try to get confused between facts and rumours.
In all the articles, I presented many articles from reliable sources. they are widely circulated newspapers and magazines, which are no less conscious that Wikipedia, about any defamatory and unverified news.
Kindly don't try to ignore these articles from these sources of reliable nature, more so when the same fact is stated by many of them at the same time.
It is like curbing truth, which is against the basic intent of Wikipedia. Goodwikie (talk) 13:37, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I make it very clear that the attempts to scrap the edits made by me today are completely incorrect, to the best of my understanding. Goodwikie (talk) 13:41, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Rumors or facts, we do not add everything posted in news articles. Closeness between various leaders is a trivial thing especially in an encyclopedia. We are not a news outlest, see WP:NOTNEWS again. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:02, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What you state is certainly incorrect. Relationships between leaders of importance do count a lot. It is a known historical fact that personal relations have changed the course of history on umpteen occasions. Goodwikie (talk) 01:38, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Closeness and Interpersonal relations between people of influence is never a personal matter but it has huge political and social overtones. Goodwikie (talk) 01:39, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is not a new thing that I am stating, but is a well-known fact. Goodwikie (talk) 01:39, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you are not convinced, then I can cite any number of examples of personal relations between leaders with huge political, social and historical relevance. Goodwikie (talk) 01:41, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But kindly don't make non-historical and illogical statements and kindly do not come in the way of history and historical truth. This is against the interest of justice and defeats the purpose of Wikipedia. Goodwikie (talk) 01:42, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Summing it up, I am going to re-edit those facts, with even more basic material/sources, as they are matters of huge historic relevance and importance. Goodwikie (talk) 01:43, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

{{{unblock| My reasons for requesting to unblock my two accounts @GenuineWikiuser and @Goodwikie are as follows-
1. I have never hidden any fact from Wikipedia and have always been completely transparent in my functioning, including the fact that I had personal interests in pages like Amitabh Thakur, [[Nutan Thakur, Azad Adhikar Sena etc, which I very clearly stated/mentioned it, even before anyone asked me.
2. I made edits for these pages but none of these edits was hypothetical, unwarranted or imaginary. Instead each of these edits was based solely on facts and was backed by a large number of reliable sources. That is the reason why all these pages still have many of the Edits made by me completely intact.
3. I also made many edits to various other pages. Some of them were small, while many of them were important contribution to Wikipedia. Hence it can be seen that I had been a valuable and useful contributor to Wikipedia, to the best of my abilities.
4. The trouble started when I edited a few pages related with [[Bhartiya Janata Party}} (BJP) leaders including Kalyan Singh, Kusum Rai, Ram Prakash Gupta, Yogi Adityanath, Lalji Tandon etc.
5. These edits were based on facts and reliable news articles. They were also historically relevant and none of them were irrelevant in any manner. Even when they were related with personal lives of these leaders, these facts had their independent and important political/historical reasons, as these issues had played important role in the course of political history.
6. These edits were almost immediately removed after being presented, despite the edits being truthful, genuine and based on reliable evidences.
7. Not fully acquainted with the Wikipedia way of functioning, instead of referring the matters to higher Editors, I got many of these pages re-edited and restored.
8. The same thing happened with three pages I created, on 2007 Gorakhpur Riots, on Pachrukhiya case and on Parvez Parwaz, all related with current Uttar Pradesh Chief 0Minister Yogi Adityanath in different ways.
9. All these events have extreme historic and political importance in UP Politics, but these Pages were also immediately removed.
10. Once again, instead of referring the matter to higher Editors, I myself tried to restore it, which I admit as being my mistake.
11. I also made certain comments as regards the Editors, who removed/deleted my Edits and Pages, which were personal in nature and should have certainly been avoided.
12. In the meanwhile, I have understood the functioning of Wikipedia in a much better way and shall not repeat these mistakes. I would also prove to be a useful hand for Wikipedia, given my enthusiasm for the work, my sincerity, my urge for truthfulness and insistence on reliable evidences.
13. In view of all these facts, I request you to kindly immediately revoke the ban/blocking done to me on Edit.
14. I give the most earnest and sincere undertaking that these inadvertent mistakes will not get repeated, and also that I shall take every measure to get fully assimilated in the large ocean of respected Wikipedia editors. I also assure you that I shall make as much valuable contributions to Wikipedia as possible.
15. Finally, I also make an open disclaimer that as righty pointed out, I work through two accounts, @GenuineWikiuser and @Goodwikie and the issues related with both these accounts is the same, which shall never ever happen again.
16. Hence, I most humbly request to kindly unblock both these Wikipedia accounts, @GenuineWikiuser and @Goodwikie.

@GenuineWikiuser / @Goodwikie}} Goodwikie (talk) 14:38, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You broke the template so no one will see it. Try again following the instructions carefully. Or use UTRS. Doug Weller talk 15:58, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Doug even I struggle with some of these templates-- Toddy1 (talk) 17:12, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Goodwikie: I think the feature that is defeating you is that your edit has lots of return characters. Maybe it would work if you wrote it all as one paragraph. The difficulty of completing the unblock template successfully seems like very good reason to try not to get blocked.-- Toddy1 (talk) 17:16, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, if you understand how Wikipedia works, then you will understand that your 16-point list will not not convince anybody to unblock you. You need to ask yourself: why did I get blocked?
In terms of UP politics, what you were trying to do was a good thing to try to do, if it could be done in a neutral point of view. But that is not relevant to you your block. -- Toddy1 (talk) 17:32, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have fixed the format errors in the template you pasted at User talk:Genuinewikiuser#March 2024 and removed the duplication of templates. If you want to complete these templates in a complicated way, the way you do it is to start with something simple, and then use the "show preview" button; once that works, you add some complexity, and then use the "show preview" button; and build up from there. It is easier to fix problems one error at a time, rather than having lots of complex features and not know which are causing the errors. I predict that your unblock request will be rejected - reading WP:GAB will reveal why I think that.-- Toddy1 (talk) 17:54, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
