Hello

hello sir. I am sorry misunderstanding and continuously undoing your edits, it's my fault. I owe you an apology, I apologise for disrupting the edit history of the article of Dhak (instrument). Thank you for always being there to support and repair the damages that we new, uneducated editors do. Shemsher2.o (talk) 00:51, 11 November 2023 (UTC)

I'd suggest you take a 6 month break from editing and start afresh after that period per Wikipedia:STANDARDOFFER. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:28, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
Hi @Hunan201p:, please see this comment at Austro's talk page. The person I'm talking about is most likely a sock of WCF. I've discussed with Austro in the same comment section before about this new user and he also believes the same. This specific edit at Ganj Dareh may be a case of OR. Please see. I've pinged you here to keep it confidential. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:39, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

Quotations

Hi! Aren't these quoted texts? Haoreima (talk) 12:45, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

@Haoreima: Thanks for pointing that out. Ran a script, but it is difficult to check thoroughly in text mode editing, hence the mistake. I've corrected it. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:57, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
I saw you were changing from Sino Tibetan to Tibeto Burman & the same thing from Indo European to Indo Aryan. I was wondering about Dravidian! Tamil is explained as a Dravidian language, and the same was found in numerous other languages of the same family, like Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, etc. Similar thing is followed in the articles like Greek language, Japanese language, Burmese language, etc. In these articles, topmost level of linguistic classification are mentioned instead of their lowest level.
On another note, for example, for Meitei language, I want to write the description as "a language belonging to the Tibeto Burman branch of the Sino Tibetan language family" exactly like that of Latin - "language belonging to the Italic branch of the Indo-European languages", or Sanskrit - "language belonging to the Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-European languages", or English language - "a West Germanic language in the Indo-European language family". They're all rewriting their sub branch as well as main grouping even though everyone knows that Indo Aryan belongs to Indo European family. Any ideas? Haoreima (talk) 20:33, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
@Haoreima:Articles like German, Pashto, Swedish do not mention super-family in the short description. It may be because the subfamilies they belong to (West Germanic, North Germanic and East Irenic) are vast and well studied, same is the case with Indo-Aryan branch of the family. The sub-families of the Dravidian group are not that notable and WP:READERS wouldn't benefit much if someone says Tamil belongs to "Southern" branch of the family. I believe that Tibeto-Burmese languages are well studied and notable as a major subgroup of the larger Sino-Tibetan family, not to mention the regional position of these languages. So, it is enough for me to be mentioned in the SD, besides in many cases, that classification is/has been the stable version of SD in the article. AS for lead, you can always write "a language belonging to the Tibeto Burman branch of the Sino Tibetan language family". Regards. I'll continue the discussion tomorrow if necessary. Good night. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 20:47, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
Could you please put the assessment report in the talk pages of the articles I have created? Most of them are remaining un-accessed! I have done some, but I believe a senior editor's assessment will be more helpful! Haoreima (talk) 08:44, 20 November 2023 (UTC)

Color => Colour breakdown

Hi Fylindfotberserk. With this edit [1] you actually disabled the color coding inside a technical template. Would you have a way to spare infobox codes from your orthographical corrections? Best पाटलिपुत्र (Pataliputra) (talk) 17:59, 22 November 2023 (UTC)

@पाटलिपुत्र: Hmm.. considering 'colour' being the most common iteration of the word in commonwealth countries and possibly many other countries, wouldn't it be wise to raise the issue with the technical team? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:07, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
Wikipedia being a US-based website, and most of the readership (and techs) being American, that's gonna be a hard sell I'm afaid... Maybe you can be more selective in your orthographical corrections? पाटलिपुत्र (Pataliputra) (talk) 18:10, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
@पाटलिपुत्र: To be fair, I didn't see any difference in the preview (considering my crappy eyesight) before publishing those changes. Guess I need to zoom it a bit more, and be more 'selective' in the process? Thanks for bringing it to my attention. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:20, 22 November 2023 (UTC)

Have a look

At this. It's a UNESCO's webpage. See the number of speakers! :-) :-) 9 million? What do you think about it? Will it be correct to acknowledge this in Wikipedia article too? Haoreima (talk) 12:52, 26 November 2023 (UTC)

@Haoreima: 9 million!😲 .. is too out of range. I wouldn't use it. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:30, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
😂😂🤣😂😂 Bro! It's UNESCO! Haoreima (talk) 14:31, 26 November 2023 (UTC)

Joshi Punekar

If you could give me a list of affected articles, I'll see if they need protection.RegentsPark (comment) 14:22, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

@RegentsPark: If I remember correctly, they seem to have a positive POV regarding Saraswat Brahmin and Gaud Saraswat Brahmin (possibly their own caste) as well as Chitpavan Brahmins. While 'not so positive' for Deshastha Brahmin, Karhade Brahmin. Also by extension they seem to be interested in Marathi Brahmin article as well as other Saraswat Brahmin groups. I believe these articles need protection. I'll notify you if I come across other articles. Thanks . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:05, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
  • Thanks. I've semi protected those articles and added them to my watchlist. RegentsPark (comment) 16:17, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
