List of missing people from Nepal

Hi. I stumbled upon List of missing people from Nepal. Merge the few notable articles and delete article as the rest are non notable? Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 19:18, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

People were convicted in the murder of John D'Amato, however, his body was never found, so doesn't that make the case still technically unsolved. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 12:36, 22 August 2019 (UTC)

October 2019

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Sayeed Salahudeen, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 14:41, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

Junk sources

David - Please stop using peoplepill/upclosed as a reference. The site is an open-editing platform that also scrapes data from other sources without attribution, including Wikipedia. I'm not clear how you evaluated that as a WP:RS. Kuru (talk) 13:15, 12 October 2019 (UTC)

@Kuru: Okay, thanks for letting me know that, I won't use it from now on. Davidgoodheart (talk) 22:16, 12 October 2019 (UTC)

I think that we can consider it an unsolved murder. Daniel Case (talk) 04:52, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

@Daniel Case: Just curious, is that because of the reasons that I gave? Davidgoodheart (talk) 04:55, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
Well, yes; it seems no suspects were ever identified, much less charged. Daniel Case (talk) 04:56, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

Roberto Solis

Hi Davidgoodheart. I reverted two sources you used for Roberto Solis because neither appear reliable. There's general consensus at RSN that therichest.com is not reliable. I've so far found no discussion about worthpoint.com. Why would it be considered reliable, especially for a BLP? --Ronz (talk) 17:02, 18 January 2020 (UTC)

Published mirrors

David - building on our earlier conversation, it looks like you're adding mirrors again at Kemar Jarrett. Note that there are several publishers that copy Wikipedia articles in fake "books" and then sell them. "Books LLC" and "General Books LLC" are two such publishers. Sometimes, when they're listed at bookstores, they clearly note this, such as that listing at abebooks which says "Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia". Other sellers are very deceptive about this. In every case, if you actually read the book, they give clear attribution. I assume you're adding these references after carefully reading the material, and not just adding refs based on the title of the reference? Kuru (talk) 20:16, 25 January 2020 (UTC)

@Kuru: I was trying to find other sources than peoplepill and had no idea that I was using "fake books" that contained Wikipedia info. In fact I made sure that what I using wasn't sourced from Wikipedia as I was just trying to find sources that seem okay to use. Do you know of any better sources to use? I'm not sure I know what you mean by "the place to make those edits", but really it's the references I mention above (Moore [ref 1], Lynch [ref 2], Rasch 1995 [ref 16] and Wallis 2007 [ref 17] in the current version) don't have full references to go with them. If you install Svick's script per these instructions, you'll see them flagged automatically. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 02:25, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

Information icon Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Vesna Vulović, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. Categories must also be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. While the "unsolved murder" aspect is debatable (Referring to Vesna Vulović herself or the crash? If the former, do you have a source?), the category you added refers to Unsolved Murders in the United States. Paris1127 (talk) 17:25, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

DorothyKilgallen.com

What leads you to believe that this website is a reliable source for use on Wikipedia? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 20:33, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi David. Just to follow up on Cullen's note above, Dorothy Kilgallen has seen a lot of attempts to insert fringy conspiracy theories and works promoting them into the article. It's been an ongoing headache and a lot of experienced editors have the page on their watchlist. I am quite sure you were not deliberately trying to promote conspiracy theories there, but be aware that just because something is on the web does not make it a reliable source. And this website is definite not RS. It is WP:FRINGE and its purpose is, at least in part, to promote conspiracy theories about her death. if you have any questions about editing that page and whether something belongs there or not, drop me or a Cullen a line first. Thanks... -Ad Orientem (talk) 20:58, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

@Cullen: I am not really aware what are the best sites to use, so please understand that I am prone to mistakes sometimes, best regards. Davidgoodheart (talk) 21:12, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
Hi David. Please read WP:RS carefully as it provides a good guide for how to judge whether or not a source is reliable. When in doubt, ask for a second opinion. Thanks again for your work here. -Ad Orientem (talk) 21:20, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
@Ad Orientem: Do you think that is a good source to use for missing people: top 10 more disappearances notable people My guess is that you will say that it is not. Davidgoodheart (talk) 00:46, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
And you would be correct. See WP:RS. Articles should be based on reliable, independent, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. -Ad Orientem (talk) 00:57, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
Then I must be learning. Davidgoodheart (talk) 00:59, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
☺ -Ad Orientem (talk) 01:07, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi David. I see you are trying to send this page to AfD. I don't think it transcluded properly. Do you have WP:TWINKLE? If not, I suggest you activate it. It is a tool that will allow you to do a lot of things with just a few clicks including nominate articles for deletion. -Ad Orientem (talk) 04:34, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

@Ad Orientem: I wouldn't know how to do that, so could you please do so for me? Davidgoodheart (talk) 04:37, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
I can't activate Twinkle on your account. The directions are in the link I provided. They are very easy. Once you have done that you will be able to do all kinds of things with just a few clicks. -Ad Orientem (talk) 04:41, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
@Ad Orientem: I can't learn this right now. Could you please post another AFD? Also I don't have Twinkle. Davidgoodheart (talk) 04:45, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
If you are arguing that the article is a duplicate of two other pages, and this page has no information not found on the others, you can always just boldly blank the article and redirect it to whichever page is the best target. If there is some material that is not found on the other pages you can propose the page be merged. It's a lot easier than AfD. If somebody objects, and you still think the page should go, then you can always send it to AfD again. And on a side note you really should try to activate Twinkle. It's not hard and it will make your editing a lot easier. -Ad Orientem (talk) 04:51, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Done -Ad Orientem (talk) 05:33, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

It's late here and I am off to bed. I will have a look at this tomorrow if time permits. -Ad Orientem (talk) 06:05, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Quick info

Getting started
To enable Twinkle on your account and receive any future updates automatically, you can simply enable the "Twinkle" gadget in the Gadgets section of your Preferences page. (Don't forget to click "Save" at the bottom of the list of gadgets!)
Customizing Twinkle
To modify many aspects of Twinkle's operation, you can visit the Twinkle preferences panel. Make your changes, and click "Save changes" at the bottom of the page. Then make sure to completely clear your browser cache so your changes take effect.
Getting help
There is comprehensive information about Twinkle at the documentation page. If that page does not answer your question, consider asking at the talk page. IRC users can connect to the #wikipedia-userscripts or #wikipedia-en IRC channels.
Reporting bugs or requesting features
Twinkle is under active development, and we generally fix bugs reasonably quickly. If you find a bug, please help out by reporting it at our GitHub repository (you will need to have a GitHub account). If you don't want to create a GitHub account, or you have a request for a new feature that could be added to Twinkle, you can ask at the talk page.
Notes
  • If your account is very new, you will not be able to use Twinkle. You need to be autoconfirmed (at least four days old and have ten edits) to enable the Twinkle gadget.
  • It is no longer possible to use Twinkle on Internet Explorer (IE) versions 10 or earlier. If you are still using one of these IE versions, try switching to another browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, as Twinkle is functional on most other modern browsers (including modern smartphone browsers).
  • Some browser add-ons may interfere with Twinkle. If Twinkle still does not load after following the instructions above, consider disabling one or more of your add-ons and then restarting your browser.
  • If you're using a touchscreen device, you may need to tap and hold the "TW" button in the Vector skin to show the Twinkle menu.

Please preview, consolidate, and summarize

Hello David- Below are a few editing suggestions to make it easier for you and others to collaborate on the encyclopedia. Please preview, consolidate, and summarize your edits:

  • Try to consolidate your edits, at least at the section level, to avoid cluttering the page's edit history; this makes it easier for your fellow editors to understand your intentions, and makes it easier for those monitoring activity on the article.
    • The show preview button (beside the "publish changes" button) is helpful for this; use it to view your changes incrementally before finally saving the page once you're satisfied with your edits.
  • Please remember to explain each edit with an edit summary (box above the "publish changes" button).

Thanks in advance for considering these suggestions. Eric talk 16:04, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Edit summaries

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to BitChute does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. If you are going to make a trivial change such as removing a blank line on a controversial article please still provide an edit summary to help avoid (several) people scrutinizing it for issues. Please also mark it as WP:MINOR. Thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 08:05, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

Gimmicks

I started cleaning out the Category:Professional wrestling gimmicks. Keep in mind that it says "This category lists professional wrestlers who were not individual people, but a gimmick and fictional characters played by many people in professional wrestling". I didn't realize it was you that added this to most of the "individual people" articles until I got started. In any case, please only use this for character-centric articles. Almost every single wrestler ever has had some sort of gimmick at some point in their career, the category would go in every wrestler article if the criteria was that loose. Also, when the "Fictional Russians" or "LGBT characters" subcat is used, you don't need to use this one too. LM2000 (talk) 20:40, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

Please respond concerning your choice of references

Hi Davidgoodheart. This is my fourth time (previously: [5][6][7]) notifying you about your use of unreliable sources, after coming across your recent additions to John Middleton (cowboy). The refs you used there are not reliable. Geni.com is listed at WP:RSP, which you should be checking whenever you have the slightest doubt about a reference, along with searching WP:RSN where you'd have found two discussions on thefamouspeople.com as well. Please at least let me know that you have seen this notification. Thank you. --Hipal (talk) 17:12, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
@Hipal: Yes, I have seen your message. I am not very good at choosing sources, but sometimes there are only a limited amount of sources available, So I just use what I can find. I am not adding bad sources on purpose, so please don't thank offense to when I do this. Davidgoodheart (talk) 19:23, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
Davidgoodheart, if you are not able to differentiate between a reliable source and an unreliable one, you need to cease adding citations to articles until you are able to understand the difference. While your intentions are good, just "using what you can find" is not acceptable under our policies and guidelines. -- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 19:35, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
@Ponyo: OK, I will keep that in mind. If I have doubts about a source perhaps then I can ask you if is suitable to use. Davidgoodheart (talk) 19:42, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
Do you check WP:RS/P when you're unsure? Do you have a mentor?-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 19:47, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
@Ponyo: No, I haven't checked WP:RS/P, but I can do so. What do you mean by mentor? Davidgoodheart (talk) 19:55, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
If you have difficulty determining whether a source is reliable or not, you should definitely be checking that link (as Hipal has advised above). If the source does not appear anywhere on that page, or if you're still uncertain, you can ask at the Teahouse or Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:01, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for responding, Davidgoodheart. Ponyo has given you some great suggestions on how to check the quality of references. Good luck! --Hipal (talk) 22:44, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

List of fugitives from justice who are no longer sought

Hi. I've added the entry you requested. You may wish to check the actual year he became a fugitive is correct as the main article is imprecise as to the actual year he became a fugitive.--Kieronoldham (talk) 00:28, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

Teahouse

Hello Davidgoodheart, you said you needed help at the teahouse - can I assist you? Pahunkat (talk) 11:03, 19 December 2020 (UTC)

@Pahunkat: Thanks for offering your help! For a start could you please add Vicente Zambada Niebla and Katherine Ann Power to the List of fugitives from justice who are no longer sought article. I have been adding multiple entries by myself, which I find very hard. Davidgoodheart (talk) 19:26, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
Sorry, but do you think you'd be able to write a short description of what they've done as per the rest of the entries? I'm not the best at skim-reading through articles. Pahunkat (talk) 14:11, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
@Pahunkat: Katherine Ann Power American fugitive who alongside Susan Edith Saxe was placed on the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Most Wanted Fugitives list in 1970 who turned herself in to the police in 1993.
Vicente Zambada Niebla was wanted for trafficking more than a billion dollars' worth of cocaine and heroin and was captured on 19 March 2009 was arrested in Mexico City.[19] and extradited to the United States. Davidgoodheart (talk) 23:46, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
@Pahunkat: Hi, now that I have left you the information that you need could you please add those articles, I would really like that. Davidgoodheart (talk) 14:55, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
Apologies, for some reason I didn't receive the initial ping. Susan Edith Saxe is  Done, however I was unable to confirm the year in which Niebla was wanted from (though I can find when he was arrested) - could you please check if it is correct? I'd recommend using the visual editor to edit tables if you're having trouble. Pahunkat (talk) 16:39, 24 December 2020 (UTC)

@Pahunkat: Hi, here are three more entries who you could add to the List of fugitives from justice who disappeared: 1. The Butcher of Mons is a media name given to an unidentified Belgian serial killer, who committed five murders between January 1996 and July 1997 in or near the city of Mons.[20] and has never been caught. 3. The B1 Butcher is an unknown serial killer in Namibia. The B1 Butcher murdered at least five women between 2005 and 2007, with all murders related to the National Road B1 and has never been caught. San Juan del Sur Psychopath is the name given to an unidentified suspected Nicaraguan serial killer, allegedly responsible for the deaths of 10 people that took place from 2000–2001.[21] He was never been caught and is still wanted to this day. @Pahunkat: Could you please add Giovanni Strangio to the List of fugitives from justice who are no longer sought. 1. Strangio was wanted for the Duisburg massacre on August 15, 2007, which made headlines worldwide.[22] and was added to list of most wanted fugitives in Italy as well as in Germany. Strangio was captured on 12 March 2009 after being arrested in Amsterdam.[23][24] Regarding rollbacking I thought that it could recover deleted articles, but I think that I was wrong. Davidgoodheart (talk) 17:54, 15 March 2021 (UTC)

@Pahunkat: Please add Christopher Coke to the List of fugitives from justice who are no longer sought. 1. Coke who also is known as "Dudus"[25] is a drug lord from Jamaica and the former leader of the Shower Posse, a violent drug gang who was started by his father. Coke became a wanted fugitive on 17 May 2010, after the government had issued a warrant for Coke's arrest.[26] Coke was located and arrested[27] on 23 June 2010. Davidgoodheart (talk) 21:20, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
@Pahunkat: Hi, thanks again for your help. Is it okay that next time that I ask you to add entries to a list that you would be able to get the information from the article that needs to added. For me to supply all that information takes almost as long as it does for me to add an entry by itself. This would really speed up the process of me getting other articles added to the list, which would make my job a LOT easier. Davidgoodheart (talk) 21:17, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
@Pahunkat: Great job! You are making it much easier for me. Please add David Stanley Jacubanis to the List of fugitives from justice who are no longer sought. Davidgoodheart (talk) 21:59, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

Our arrangement

Hello Davidgoodheart, we've had an arrangement for the past few months where I've been helping you to add articles to several lists on request. Unfortunately, I've decided that I don't think that I can continue this arrangement in the future. The main reason for that is my work patterns and real-life commitments have started to vary - some times I have lots of time to contribute to Wikipedia, but at others I just don't have time to spend longer periods of time here and can only make the quick semi-automated edit or two. I've come to notice that this probably hasn't been ideal for you neither - whilst you've been able to give multiple entries per time to other users in high-frequency, users like me have often taken a couple of days just to get round to adding one or two entries.

Apologies for any inconvenience that this brings, I hope that what I've done has been helpful to your aim of expanding the lists. Thank you for the work you do here :-) Pahunkat (talk) 19:26, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

This article is not sufficiently populated. Did he first become a fugitive in 1962, and last in 2020? Some articles read like fanzines or a collage of varying degrees of sensationalism. ("After he was arrested a crowd of schoolgirls gathered at the police station with cards saying "I love you" on them.")--Kieronoldham (talk) 02:52, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

@Kieronoldham: Since the last time that he was wanted is 2020, you can add him by that year. Davidgoodheart (talk) 05:09, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the first leader of ISIS isn't on the List of fugitives from justice who are no longer sought, he was one of the most dangerous terrorists in the world. Also his successor Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi should be added to List of fugitives from justice who disappeared. Thanks and I really appreciate your hard work. Kiro Bassem (talk) 01:31, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

I will add them as I soon as I can. Thanks for giving me this information. Davidgoodheart (talk) 01:35, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
Hello Davidgoodheart, I noticed that You added on the "See also" of Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi to the List of fugitives from justice who are no longer sought, He was believed to have been arrested, but the real guy who was arrested is Abdul Nasser Qardash. Thanks Kiro Bassem (talk) 12:50, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
Added as requested, Davidgoodheart. You may wish to verify the actual year that he became a fugitive though, given his extensive background in extremism.--Kieronoldham (talk) 02:59, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
Hello Davidgoodheart, I noticed two dangerous terrorists that can be added on the List of fugitives from justice who are no longer sought, the first one is the Egyptian Abu Ayyub al-Masri, the second leader of Al-Qaeda in Iraq, I have already added his predecessor Abu Musab al-Zarqawi to the list. The second one is the Iraqi Abu Ali al-Anbari, a senior ISIL leader. Thanks Kiro Bassem (talk) 00:39, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
Hello again Davidgoodheart, since Abu Ayyub al-Masri and Abu Ali al-Anbari to the List of fugitives from justice who are no longer sought I think you can help to improve them, I have improved as much as I could by fixing dates and some typos but I think your help would be useful. Thanks so much Kiro Bassem (talk) 19:41, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

Canvassing

I know this is from April, but I see you left a message on Copper1993's talk about an AfD he might be interested in. I don't know how many people you told. Be careful as in some cases, if you tell a number of people, it could be considered canvassing leading to a myriad of results other than a keep or delete. I made the mistake of telling people to make their thoughts known on something. That is WP:CANVASS. Basically, it's a notification that is sometimes done with the intention of influencing the outcome of a discussion in a particular way, and is considered inappropriate. It can be seen as disruptive to consensus discussion. Not saying that's what you did. Just want you to be mindful of that.Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 12:41, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

UBX search

Hi, Davidgoodheart. You can search for any userbox you like here: Wikipedia:Userboxes. Regards, --Kieronoldham (talk) 12:31, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
@Kieronoldham: I will get back to you shortly. I just had a corona shot that left me very drowsy. Even though that I am now feeling a lot better I am still recovering and may not be able to pick up my regular editing pace for a few days. Davidgoodheart (talk) 22:25, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
No worries, Davidgoodheart. As long as you are immunized that is of course what's most important.--Kieronoldham (talk) 22:39, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
@Kieronoldham: Thank you for understanding this. Davidgoodheart (talk) 23:23, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
@Kieronoldham: I am feeling much better now! Also if you could make me userboxes that don't currently exist I will only need one at a time. Davidgoodheart (talk) 19:46, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
I can try, Davidgoodheart. Cannot promise anything, though.--Kieronoldham (talk) 21:26, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

Hey can you check out the talk page on this article?

I'm not sure if you're aware, but I pinged you on Talk:List of formerly unidentified decedents and you haven't responded yet. Koridas (Heyyyyyyy) 22:38, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

Break

Hi. Hope everything is fine with you? I have been on a wikibreak to enjoy summer. The almost deletion of The Black Mamba (Portuguese band) brought me back here today. Clearly a notable band. Anyways, have started doing some edits. A bit rosty. :)BabbaQ (talk) 10:31, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

Help me removing empty see also section.

Hello, after List of fugitives from justice who are no longer sought has been deleted, there are so many empty see also sections that should be removed because they are useless. Thanks and I still appreciate your efforts on Wikipedia. Kiro Bassem (talk) 10:00, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

@Kiro Bassem: I will real soon, but can't at the very moment. Also I have kept a copy of it for future use. Davidgoodheart (talk) 10:13, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
@Kiro Bassem: The reason for this is I have my hands full at the moment, but I will do so when I have the time to get around to it. Davidgoodheart (talk) 10:13, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
