Fiat v FIAT[edit]

Ciao :) An interesting discovery - at least on overseas websites (e.g. http://www.fiatusa.com/en/ and http://www.fiat.com.au/), the name appears as FIAT® which is the registered trademark in capital letters only. On twitter too, they are @FIATUSA. Haven't found how or where on WP:Automobiles one can raise issues like this! CtrlXctrlV (talk) 13:26, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Here, on the talk page of the project. Yes, FCA US seems to use the upper case name, but it's just on the American market. The company itself is registered as Fiat Automobiles S.p.A.. Cheers –Cloverleaf II (talk) 14:14, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, finally got around to this! Keep up the good work on the Torino Motorshow. Buona Pasqua CtrlXctrlV (talk) 07:16, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Alfa Romeo Mille[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you renamed Alfa Mille truck>ALfa Mille, howover there is other Milles also like buss, trolleybus and truck or are you going to add all to that same page ? -->Typ932 T·C 19:49, 20 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's back to where it was now. Careless editing on my part, I was erroneously convinced the trolleybus went under another page name. On a side note, I was pretty sure another editor had already moved it back... And in fact when I tried to undo rom the history page "Edit already undone" popped up! Very weird. A barnstar for you![edit]

The Original Barnstar
First time I do this, and it's for the ongoing effort put into transforming - enhancing - the Turin Motorshow article :) CtrlXctrlV (talk) 11:10, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you CtrlXctrlV! I'm updating it every time I find myself editing an article about a car which was launched in Turin. Just.. uh.. some 60 more editions to tackle now. I appreciate your work too, especially that on the Ritmo article—which I could never bring myself to do. Cloverleaf II (talk) 11:44, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Palazzo Barbieri versus Palazzo Barbieri, Verona[edit]

I vote for leaving the title in the former fashion. While for some Palazzo Barbieri may only be linked to Verona, I for one, would not automatically make the connection, and I estimate many of the readers from the English-speaking world would not. For me it makes it easier when looking at category lists or other glimpses to assign it geographically. A minor point is that there is a second, much less impressive, Palazzo Barbieri at Padenghe sul Garda.

I advocate, whenever possible, adding locale to building. For example, for most foreigners to Italy, perhaps most Italians, the church of Santa Croce may point to Florence. But there are so many Santa Croce churches in Italy. Rococo1700 (talk) 13:24, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I won't have a fight about it, but I disagree. Basically you're needlessly disambiguating vs. a page that does not exist, not even on it.wiki. I find that confusing. "Palazzo Barbieri, Verona" is redundant and inconsistent with hundreds of other articles on the wiki. In my view also it'also in conflict with a bunch of titling guidelines, most notably WP:PRIMARYUSAGE.
Frankly if you maintain that all (Italian?) buildings and churches would better have their location specified in the title, you should propose a naming convention, rather than move pages one by one. —Cloverleaf II (talk) 15:16, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

July 2015[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Bugatti Type 57S Atalante (57502)‎. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges.

Deleting half of the content of an article is not an uncontroversial change. If reverted, it would then be appropriate to justify this at the article talk page: maybe some should go, likely some should stay. Simply repeating the same blanking is just edit-warring. Andy Dingley (talk) 12:58, 8 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Andy Dingley I haven't repeatedly undone any edits. I undid your undoing (pardon the wordplay) just once, to bring to your attention that my edit was something more studied than simply "blanking" as you put it. Byte count isn't everything. Please judge by yourself. —Cloverleaf II (talk) 13:59, 8 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lancia Appia Updates[edit]

I used the 'thanks' button to publicly thank you (I hope you're the correct recipient); but just wanted to add kudos here. I've been hoping for someone more competent than I was to clean up and clear up all the special Appias, especially the GT/GTS/GTE/Sport and the Vignale models. You did a fantastic job and it shows better than the Italian Wikipedia entry now. One question if you know: I've seen occasional references to an Appia GTA (as opposed to GTE). Is there such a beast?PVarjak (talk) 21:27, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much PVarjak. Actually I was lucky in finding lots of sources on the matter, Appia Zagatos for example are quite popular—though the early ones remain quite obscure. About an Appia GTA, I've never heard of one with such a name. Perhaps it was used to refer to one of the 3-4 one-off Appias by Allemano? But that's really just conjecture! —Cloverleaf II (talk) 22:10, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Ben tornato (after seeing your edits on the GTV/Spider article), I've been wondering where you've been! I don't know if you noticed the silly but resolved issue of another editor insisting on having 2 separate engine tables because he failed to consider that the difference in engine ouput was down to the use of different engineering standards in the USA (SAE) and Europe (CE/DIN). The same editor has since complained about my replacing of the claimed designer Andrea Loi from the info box, with the Head of the Centro Stile, Marco Tencone. In support of that, I used a Quattroruote video, feauting all design team members and clearly indicating that Loi is only the Senior Exterior designer. The other editor instead used a regional publisher who is exaggerating the role of Loi, because he bodes from the same region. I listed all design team members in a paragraph under the "History" section just in case. Having noticed your "designer" edits for the GTV/Spider, would you care having input on that of the Giulia? An independent view is needed, I think. Grazie CtrlXctrlV (talk) 16:20, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you CtrlXctrlV! Sadly I don't have much time to edit any more, though now and then I keep myself busy with the half a dozen of forever-work-in-progress articles in my sandboxes. Actually I noticed the numerous edits to the Giulia article, but I didn't think it was coming down to an edit war. Though Euro and US models probably use different engine maps, it's surely nothing warranting a double engine table; even Typ932 seems to have accepted it now. And by the way, since 276 hp is exactly 280 PS, what was the catch?? Hopefully in a couple months we'll finally know the full European specifications... About the designer, I support your point; see my recent edit. Cheers! —Cloverleaf II (talk) 17:35, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 16[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Alfa Romeo Giulia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dunlop. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits.
