Hi C.Fred, I apologize if the content i left on a few pages was unwelcome. I fully intend to benefit the wikipedia users by adding those pages. The site I linked to is informational and give information regarding the advertising for these companies that has been used in the past and shows the market prices that were paid for the items that were sold. There is nothing for sale on the site i linked to and it is solely for informational purposes. Please let me know if i should refrain from linking to antiqueadvertising.com in the future and there will be no more links from me. I am sorry to inconvenience you, I am just very interested in this area and would like to share what i have found with other users. I am a huge fan of wikipedia and would never want to damage the site in any way.

Elton Mayo

Thanks for being even handed, and warning me and Barniecadd. Do you think you could adjudicate my disagreement with Barniecadd? Iss246 (talk) 18:17, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

@Iss246: I'm not sure what exactly you want adjudicated at this point. I see that Barniecadd threw out an olive branch of a suggestion of just retitling the section header to avoid the and/or issue; why not go down that path and see if there's some other title you two (plus other interested editors) can agree on? —C.Fred (talk) 18:30, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
I don't interpret Barniecadd's comment as an olive branch because he has knowingly goaded me by repeatedly calling me "comrade" although I asked him not to, and claiming that I did not explain my reason for using the word "or" when I clearly did. I want to ensure clarity of language by using the term "or," which I explained in my comments. I don't think the Mayo entry is sufficiently balanced. Individual scholars (rather than encyclopedias) favor the view that Mayo was not a psychologist but he passively let people think he was a psychologist (or a medical doctor). Iss246 (talk) 03:41, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
@Iss246: Yes, it's simpler language the way it's phrased now, but wouldn't a section header like Potential misrepresentation of credentials get to the same point without the and/or issue?
You may also have a point from the behavioural side about the persistent use of comrade, even after you asked him to stop, but I'm not sure what the best venue or method is to go forward with that. —C.Fred (talk) 12:38, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi. I meant no disrespect in any way, by using the word comrade, or friend. how could it be seen as such? Should be noted also that i ceased doing so a while ago now. The suggested resolution I left a number of times, to re-title the heading was very much throwing out an olive branch too, as u said. alas it has been ignored though.Barniecadd (talk) 04:21, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi again. My suggestion to simply re-title the heading has been ignored and iss246 just wants it their way or the highway. Also a new person has come in and deleted my work today. Instead of edit warring with this person, I did not revert their deletion of my work, just to keep the peace. However this person does not talk about it either. Is this how Wikipedia is s'posed to work? I introduced the point again in another section but I'm afriaid this new person will just delete it again without discussing it withg me first. Can u please take a look. I dont c for the life of me y we dont just re-title the heading as a compromise and to avoid the and/or issue as u advised.Barniecadd (talk) 05:43, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

I established that Mayo was not remotely a medical doctor, having attended a small medical school and dropped out in 6 months. I think we can put this business about Mayo's being a medical doctor to rest. Iss246 (talk) 16:11, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi. U were the one who introduced the medical doctor into the article not I. I just cooperated with u to keep peace. Also please don't be so offensive calling my addition "creakier" as u did, thats really offensive iss246, especially given u took offence at me simply calling u "friend" or 'comrade" earlier on. lets just cooperate on this instead.Barniecadd (talk) 01:48, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

Nemocnice Motol

Could you please rename the page Nemocnice Motol to page Nemocnice Motol (Prague Metro)? Nemocnice Motol as such, pointing to the largest hospital in Central Europe (in Czech -hospital- = nemocnice). Thanks. Lupinus (talk) 18:10, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

@Lupinus: Once there's a Nemocnice Motol (hospital) article, then we can look at which of the two is the primary topic. Until then, there's no need to move the page. —C.Fred (talk) 18:12, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

Gibson Gardens

Hi there C Fred - I am new to editing updates on Wikipedia and although I appreciate you taking the time to send me a note. I disagree with the reasons for removing my entry. Gibson Gardens is a historic apartment block here in London and although I appreciate the link may have been viewed as being self serving the content was not and so I am going to make a revised entry. I hope that makes sense and that I am commenting in the right place and in accordance to the rules? Many thanks, GG. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SaveGibsonGardens (talkcontribs) 18:35, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

Deleting my editing

Please stop deleting any content I add. What I am adding is correct and up-to-date. It is not in anyway 'disruptive behaviour', so stop removing it and leave me edit something so that it is correct.--Unknown521 (talk) 19:18, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

@Unknown521: The material you have added is lacking in reliable sources. If, for instance, your assertion about students' exam scores is correct, then provide a link to a newspaper or similar reliable, independent source that has documented it. —C.Fred (talk) 19:44, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

What is wrong with Posteezy. Here is their about page: http://posteezy.com/content/about-us — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smstal (talkcontribs) 18:31, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

@Smstal: As I said on your talk page, it is not a notable website. Further, the prior version of the article was a copyright violation. —C.Fred (talk) 18:51, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

How about these references:

https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/posteezy http://www.aboutus.org/PosTeezy.com https://www.addthis.com/services

Also, the copyright was from a press release and is the basis of the company. What right do you have to delete it? Please explain further. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smstal (talkcontribs) 19:15, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

@Smstal: Cruchbase is a directory listing, not an article about the company. Aboutus can be edited by the company, so it's not reliable. Addthis is just an entry in a list; there's no in-depth coverage.
Regarding the press release: the text in the press release belongs to the company. It's under copryight and cannot be freely reused. The same text also appears on the company's website, making it even less likely to be under a free license. —C.Fred (talk) 19:25, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

Hello Fred, subject article Carrie Mokadim (she may be new but all is accurate)By Yours truly was removed. I will reconsider and follow guidelines next time however would you please consider just deleting without hurting the subjects credibility in your reasons section agents request — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jan_Verschuren (talkcontribs)

@Jan Verschuren: The deletion summary had nothing to do with the subject's credibility. It had to do with the authors of the page failing to make a credible (valid, reasonable) indication that the subject is notable. Plus, that's standard text generated by the system; most articles deleted under CSD A7 get that text. —C.Fred (talk) 19:25, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

Reply from STravelli

I really appreciate your input and help. I truly want to follow the rules. And I'm trying to be objective. It just seems logical that if someone posts something saying that 1+1 = 5 and posts references it should be appropriate to post 1+1= 2 and post a reference accordingly. So if multiple people keep removing my post, which completely follows the rules, I need to go to the talk page of each "remover" and try to convince them that what I've posted is fair and appropriate? I really do want to know. Is that the process? STravelli — Preceding unsigned comment added by STravelli (talkcontribs) 22:54, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

Myaware

The 1968 date comes from our brief history page which can be found here http://www.myaware.org/a-brief-historyChrisam91 (talk) 13:49, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

@Chrisam91: "Our" brief history? Sounds like you have a conflict of interest. —C.Fred (talk) 14:24, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

I am simply trying to raise awareness for what is a rare muscular condition. Have you heard of it?Chrisam91 (talk) 15:06, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

I have changed the wording on the page and I hope that this will be okChrisam91 (talk) 15:14, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @Chrisam91: With respect, Wikipedia is not the place to promote your cause, no matter how good the cause is, see WP:PROMO. It's a place for writing neutral article about notable things. For your organisation to be notable, it would need to show significant independent coverage from reliable sources per WP:GNG and WP:CORP. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:15, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
In my first question on here I was asking people for help as I do not know how to create all of the citations. I didn't receive any help and now they might close the page. There are hundreds of pages similar to the myaware one, so I suggest that they should be closed down too?Chrisam91 (talk) 15:27, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
@Chrisam91: Other stuff exists. The only item of relevance for the Myaware page is whether Myaware can be demonstrated to be a significant or important organization, per WP:ORG. —C.Fred (talk) 15:35, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
Other stuff does not exist. When you type myasthenia into the search bar all that you get is information about the condition and not a way of help. I can see no difference between the myaware page and the cancer research UK and the british heart foundation pages in terms of wording. In fact their pages seem to self-promote quite often. I suggest that you talk to their editors about this?Chrisam91 (talk) 15:55, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
I think you're confused about what C.Fred was saying. They were referring to WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, which is a bad argument along the lines of "X and Y have a page, so we should have a page"- which is exactly what you were arguing. Joseph2302 (talk) 16:11, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
Also, they deserve a page because they meet Wikipedia notability requirements, WP:GNG and WP:CORP. Joseph2302 (talk) 16:24, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

I have now changed the date to 1976. The 1968 date is when the condition was first brought to the attention of people which is why I mentioned it.Chrisam91 (talk) 13:55, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

Minnesota Swarm/Georgia Swarm

Mr. Fred ~

My sincere apologies for the editing mishaps. One of my computers died, and I was in the middle of sourcing an edit. I am now adding more sources to my work, so if you need for me to add anything else, just holler.

Also, I wanted to ask: how should I properly cite a new page? I created the Georgia Swarm page, and cited the small amount of info there; yet, it received deletion, and you asked for sources. My question is: How shall I correctly cite an entirely new page?

Thank you for your fantastic help and direction.

Edit: Thank you very much for your help and work ethic. Because of your edits, the eorgia Swarm page looks ten times better; it is much neater, full of information, and is fully-sourced. I greatly appreciate what you have done.

Ty JP (talk) 01:35, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

@Ty JP: Since the Georgia Swarm will be a continuation of the same team, I've moved the article from Minnesota Swarm to Georgia Swarm. I've also cited the Pioneer Press story about the relocation. You can find the technical details on how to cite a source with <ref> tags and the {{cite news}} template if you look at the code for the section the 2016 relocation. —C.Fred (talk) 02:00, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

I simply want to make one change, if I may: The owner of the Swarm is Andy Arlotta. I would like for him to be included on the top-right summary box, right below the " |general manager= Jon Sullivan " input. I will wait for your approval.

Thank you again.

Ty JP (talk) 02:11, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

@Ty JP: Go for it! Just add |owner = Andy Arlotta to the line below. —C.Fred (talk) 02:14, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

Vandal

Hi C.Fred. I'm fairly certain that DiCNeons+, a new user you admonished today, is a vandal. Possibly a sock of Maelbros, although I haven't put together enough pieces yet. A highly misguided PROD here. In this edit we see that he's changed a show title It's Itsy Bitsy Time to It's [[Curtain]] Time by [[Lorelei|Lorelei Villom]] among other odd changes like Ronald Reok's Boys. Many of his other edits today have introduced unsourced production companies and nations [1][2][3] which is something Maelbros does often. Questionable article creation at Nothing Like Fairytale (nommed for speedy delete). And the very odd plea I HATE BE BLOCKED at the AfD for the same article. So, there ya go. Please ping me if you need anything. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:03, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

@Cyphoidbomb: Yeah, I agree that something looks odd with that account. I haven't dug far enough to piece it all together yet, though. —C.Fred (talk) 15:06, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
I'm manually reverting most of their edits on general principle (namely, being unsourced). There are a few that look like he's restored some old version of an article. This is a comprehensive change and it smells funny to me. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:13, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
Closure: I guess it was decided that this was a sock of Maelbros. Blocked by Bbb23. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:39, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

Request

I don't know too much about Avalon Robbins but I do know she was born on May 19, 1999. Can you start a page for her? I could myself but I need your help. Gamerman1990 (talk) 08:52, 3 June 2015 (UTC)

@Gamerman1990: We'd need a lot more information than that to start a page on her. Who is she, how is she a notable person, and what independent reliable sources have written about her? —C.Fred (talk) 14:40, 3 June 2015 (UTC)

Well, I know Avalon Robbins provided the voice role of Millie and Melody Mouse from Minnie's Bow-Toons and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She also did live action roles for "The Three Stooges" and "Scarf". She started acting and worked for commercials at the age of 4. I heard that she started singing at the age of 8. Avalon Robbins provided the voice of Harper on "Disney's Special Agent Oso". OK, that's all I can think of. Does that help? Gamerman1990 (talk) 00:03, 4 June 2015 (UTC)

@AddWittyNameHere: I was going to give them a chance to move on and be productive. Since that isn't their interest, the block is in order. I think any other similar vandals (or the same user, if they hop to another IP) can expect to be blocked from their first edit. —C.Fred (talk) 20:18, 6 June 2015 (UTC)

About gypsies

Hello Fred

Too bad you have felt you had to change my edits before looking into the history of gypsies. I feel you are somewhat uninformed on the subject, so please do some research first.

As said before, the romani, roma, and romany terms are all made-up by the gypsy population in order to hide their origins, given their bad rap/ reputation worldwide.

Once you read more on the subject I hope you feel free to replace the terms roma, romani and romany used in conjection with the gypsy population with the proper word, namely gypsy, thusly putting a stop to the perpetuation of misinformation.

Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter,

Told be the truth (talk) 21:25, 6 June 2015 (UTC)Told be the truth

@Told be the truth: What's really relevant is that the article titled Gypsy is a redirect to the Romani people article. Your comment removed the hatnote explaining that, so one thing I did was restored that navigation marker. Secondly, your claim was not backed up with independent reliable sources, so it needed to be removed per WP:Verifiability. —C.Fred (talk) 21:30, 6 June 2015 (UTC)

OK, Fred, Let's try again. What I am trying to say is that there is no such thing as Romani, Romany, or Roma, as used in the Wikipedia in reference to the gypsies. It is made up. There is no historical proof for the "Romani people" article you mentioned. Just because someone publishes something on the Internet doesn't make it so. You cannot find the word Romani, Romany, or Roma with the meaning of gypsy in any credible source, e.g. a printed, non HTML-based dictionary.

For instance: just because Joe decides to call himself Jake doesn't make it so, unless he has the documents to prove it (ID, passport, birth certificate, etc.) Same with the gypsies. They have been called gypsies for hundreds of years, and yes, it is documented in many printed sources. To list just a few:

-- http://smithsonianeducation.org/migrations/gyp/gypstart.html: "Several groups, all known to outsiders as "Gypsies," live today in the United States. In their native languages, each of the groups refers to itself by a specific name, but all translate their self-designations as "Gypsy" when speaking English."

-- http://www.pbs.org/pov/americangypsy/: "There are over one million Gypsies living in America today", "i was born in nhizny novgorod russia...my mom is a gypsy.... ",

-- http://www.nytimes.com/1992/09/06/nyregion/the-hidden-minority-new-jersey-s-thousands-of-gypsies.html: "The Hidden Minority: New Jersey's Thousands of Gypsies"

Let me know if you need more references naming gypsies as gypsies.

On the other hand, the terms Roma, Romani and Romany that the gypsies are now using are only to distract from their origins, and mislead the public. Hope you understand. If you don't agree, let me know. I will send you more references. Thank you for your cooperation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Told be the truth (talkcontribs) 22:03, 6 June 2015 (UTC)

"You cannot find the word Romani, Romany, or Roma with the meaning of gypsy in any credible source, e.g. a printed, non HTML-based dictionary." Curious, then, that the Oxford English Dictionary is a cited source in the article. —C.Fred (talk) 22:14, 6 June 2015 (UTC)

Hello again, Fred.

Let me check the OED.

So far, I got the Romany, n. (http://www.oed.com/view/Entry/167139?result=1&rskey=XW7bCd&) as "Rome; the Roman Empire. In later use also: the region around the city of Rome." starting mid 13th century.

However, I want to give your argument the weight it deserves, so I will further check in a printed, latest edition OED, just so we get to the bottom of it...

Have a good time until then.

Hello,

First time doing this, so please forgive me if I'm writing this in the wrong place. Can you please add Canada to your page on Gypsies. There are 5,255 Roma living in Canada. That is the most recent count. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Green eyed stride (talkcontribs) 19:17, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

@Green eyed stride: According to what reliable source is that the current count? You'll need to cite that, and you need to mention that in Talk:Romani people so it can get considered for inclusion. —C.Fred (talk) 19:21, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

This is in regards to Jeremy Levitt - who says that he got the idea for service seeking. He got the idea from me. We met on http://www.adultmatchmaker.com.au and I gave him the idea. Also, I emailed him from my hotmail email. So it can all be proven. You need to contact him and verify. He is taking credit for my idea. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SeherzadaAida (talkcontribs) 20:26, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

@SeherzadaAida: The information needs to come from a published, reliable source. It is not feasible for every editor to contact an individual, and personal email is not a reliable source. So, for your claim to stand in an article, you need to show where it's been published in a newspaper, magazine, or the like. —C.Fred (talk) 20:32, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

New page patrol

If you tag a new article for anything (cleanup, deletion, etc.), please mark it as patrolled. Thanks! --I dream of horses (talk to me) (contributions) @ 04:01, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

@I dream of horses: Twinkle really needs a checkbox to curate the article at the same time. Is there one I worked on manually that I missed curating? —C.Fred (talk) 04:08, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
You're right, twinkle does need such a checkbox. It used to check if articles were patrolled all the time, no matter what, but now that doesn't always seem to be case.
This is a little embarrassing, but I forgot which article you tagged! You tagged it for deletion, if that helps. --I dream of horses If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message. (talk to me) (contributions) @ 04:11, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
@I dream of horses: And here's the odd thing: a page I tag for deletion, I almost don't want it mark patrolled. Some pages I delete on sight, but those are usually attack pages or pure vandalism. Anything else, I leave for at least 10 minutes to see if (1) the author adds to the page, (2) the author contests deletion on the talk page, or (3) another editor is able to improve the page. So, I want eyes during that window. —C.Fred (talk) 15:03, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

Tori Lyons

As you're an admin you have that power to instantly delete Tori Lyons but you nominated it for speedy. As it is an actress, I'd give the author a bit of time to prove the credentials with sources etc. I'd like to retag it but I thought I'd speak to you first. Creepy Cruiser (talk) 17:52, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

@Creepy Cruiser: Yes, I could delete it outright. By tagging the article, I've told the original editor that, in its current condition, it could be speedily deleted. I usually give a short bit of time for them to contest the deletion or expand the article; otherwise, I delete it. —C.Fred (talk) 17:54, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
The article is in flux enough that I've dropped the speedy deletion. Depending on how it develops, I'll probably send it through PROD or AfD rather than speedy delete it. —C.Fred (talk) 18:17, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Exactly what I was thinking of. Nicely done. Creepy Cruiser (talk) 18:24, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

Thanks I felt lost as I did not know how to add the references. I'll review the material you sent. Lalynn (talk) 17:26, 21 June 2015 (UTC)

You deleted the page Go To Sleep DP Sloan with the log entry "(A11: Obviously invented). However, this amazon entry and this review seem to indicate that this is an actual book, published by a real non-vanity/non-self-pub publisher, althoguh whether it is notable or not is a doifferent question. I don't think A11 covers that sort of thing. Please consider undeleting this. DES (talk) 22:05, 21 June 2015 (UTC)

@DESiegel: In the context of what I was presented with—including the page having been created by User:DavidPSloan—I accepted the A11 criterion. If the book is "legitimate", then the page may still be subject to deletion under criteria G11 or G12, since what was on the page felt like it could easily be a press blurb for the book. The book may well be worthy of an article, although it may be better to just start from scratch instead of salvage what was on the page. —C.Fred (talk) 23:05, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
I concur that G11 would be appropriate. The book is certainly real: "Spinetinglers" would appear to be a private imprint, but the DavidPSloan account that created the article is probably the DP Sloan that wrote it. I can't find much of anything independent about it, and given a sales position of 945,063 on the Kindle Store, it's unlikely that I will. It's hard to make absolute sense of Kindle positions, but I can tell you that my book barely bumps along in sales department and I'm 300,000 positions higher than that. On the other hand, it's had some commercial success as a paperback in the UK: it's actually in stock at Waterstones. Given that, I wouldn't create protect it unless there's trouble.—Kww(talk) 23:36, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
Fair enough, it probably was rather promotional. I came to this because I had observed some IMO unmerited speedy tags, and I was checking out other tags by the same NP patroller. And also, of course, because I tend to be rather a stickler for the letter of the CSD. Thanks for responding. DES (talk) 00:12, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

Incorrect speedy deletion of Family Planning Association of India, Pune Branch

@C.Fred:: You seem to have incorrectly speedily deleted the page because you didn't think it reach the notability status required. I'm citing Wikipedia on Speedy Deletion: "Speedy deletion is meant to remove pages that are so obviously inappropriate for Wikipedia that they have no chance of surviving a deletion discussion. Speedy deletion should not be used except in the most obvious cases."

This is definitely not applicable to the page I created. A discussion about whether the page meets the notability criteria would have been alright, but speedily deleting that page is just plain incorrect.

I contested to the Speedily Deletion and argued why the page should not be deleted, that is, why I think the page meets the notability criteria. I also requested an explanation if you still did not accept my argument. I received an explanation from another user that local branches of national NGOs are usually not considered enough notable unless they also do work outside of their region, but I have not read anything like that in Wikipedia's guidelines and should such a guideline exist I still did not even get time to look up sources that could tell if the organization did work outside of Pune, before the page became deleted.

So will you please either clearly justify your speedily deletion of the page (with references to relevant Wikipedia guidelines supporting the correctness of your deletion) or put up the page again and then if you wish we can have a discussion about whether the organisation is notable enough to be on Wikipedia or not. Dmateh (talk) 05:56, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

@Dmateh: The explanation you received is correct per WP standards: local chapters of national organizations are generally not notable. See WP:NGO, where it's spelled out pretty much that way: the activities of an organization need to be national in scope before the organization qualifies for an article. —C.Fred (talk) 02:34, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

@C.Fred: Quoting from your link, regarding additional considerations for when an NGO can be considered notable enough: "Some organizations are local in scope, but have achieved national or even international notice." Again quoting Wikipedia on Speedy Deletion: "Speedy deletion is meant to remove pages that are so obviously inappropriate for Wikipedia that they have no chance of surviving a deletion discussion. Speedy deletion should not be used except in the most obvious cases."

How can you be so sure that the organization we're talking about is "so obviously inappropriate for Wikipedia that they have no chance of surviving a deletion discussion"? You did not even give me a chance to look for sources stating they are notable enough to have their own page. I even wrote a Talk comment that I would start looking for more sources. But the day after, the page was already deleted. In retrospect, you really think you made the right decision in speedily deleting that page? Dmateh (talk) 07:33, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

@C.Fred There is very little current information generated about Generation X. This blog is the foremost niche site on the subject of Generation X. It is much more current and relevant than the other external link you are leaving up. It's been cited in numerous media sites including National AP, Washington Post, CNN, ParentDish and many, many more. It ranks 4th in Google searches. Rodelyn onggo

Hey, thought I'd give you an update on this. It ended up being a pretty obvious hoax after I took a deeper look at the article and the other edits by User:Laurelievers. It looks like they were trying to create a page modeling themselves after Gretchen Ho, which explains the vandalism to that page. I can't tell exactly, but I think that they were either trying to turn it into a page about Onggo, changeenough of the information that they could use it to build legitimacy for Onggo's page, or they were cut/pasting from that article and forgot which one they were working on.

In any case, the hoax part was obvious enough after a while - especially with the images they uploaded. It was some obvious photoshopping and those were the ones that weren't all that bad - the ones on their Twitter account are pretty painful. I think that these two are my favorites. I do feel slightly like I'm kicking a puppy by highlighting those, but... the shooping is pretty bad.

Anywho, it looks like there was some sockpuppetry going on here so if you see any additional accounts trying to create this information (they'll possibly target Ho's article again), they're probably more socks. I'll put the page on my watchlist. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:26, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

The Universim Deletion

@C.Fred One of our fans created the page for us, and used a lot of the language from our website, which is advertorial in nature for obvious reasons. I, and a number of our fans, feel that the game is notable enough to add, having been featured in a number of news articles, the "List of God Games" article on here, as well as many fan sites. If you would kindly restore it, I will make sure that it is of a more referential and scholarly nature, and avoid promotion. I will try to do this ASAP once restored. Editing Zoltan Acs's Page

Hi,

I noticed that you suspended my ability to edit Zoltan Acs's page out of the possibility that there is a conflict of interest. I can assure you that I have taken the majority of the information from his CV that is posted on the George Mason University website. As I said in one of my edit summaries, I am working on updating this and am going to add the citations after I have written the text.

I am glad that you are taking wikipedia seriously and want to make sure that there are no conflicts of interest. However, I would be much obliged if you could make it a priority to proofread it so I can continue editing it. Again, I have been writing from a very neutral point of view.

Aghepfer (talk) 14:11, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

@Aghepfer: I have not suspended your ability. I have alerted other editors to the existence of your conflict of interest, since you're adding material on behalf of the subject. Actually, please do continue to edit the article; once the references are in place, then other editors and I can proofread the article and make sure it's in neutral tone. —C.Fred (talk) 14:12, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

Michelle Shocked

Hello C.Fred.. I am confused on why I am being stopped at updating Michelle Shocked wiki page. I am only putting in her history of what she has done and accomplished and removing the sensational stuff regarding her sexuality and religion etc. This is something she would like to have done as I am a personal friend of hers. I am new to working on wiki pages but I am at a lost for why giving her background and accomplishments is considered promoting considering that she is a public figure and all the information is true. thanks.. Trichey

Reply will be at your talk page. —C.Fred (talk) 23:12, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello C.Fred.. I have to tell you that I feel there is discrimination taking place and I would like to speak to someone who is a supervisor and who will take a look at my case. I can understand what you are saying regarding a conflict of interest but I am not saying Michelle Shocked is great, amazing, or using any sort of promoting language. I am also not challenging the statements about her life that are not misrepresenting her on this pagae. All I am doing is present facts of accomplishment, where she played, who she worked with, what she produced and her current projects. The statements are as dry as a resume without adjectives so I would like for you to provide me a supervisor and explain specifically word for word where i am violating wiki policy. I am being objective in every since of the word so if you are going to stop me from being able to provide facts I would like to see specifics. I would also like to speak to your supervisor...thank you. (Trichey (talk) 02:44, 2 July 2015 (UTC)).

@Trichey: There really isn't a supervisor to speak with. I'd start with discussion at Talk:Michelle Shocked, and if there isn't widespread participation, open a request for comment. —C.Fred (talk) 02:52, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

James Lee (Mixed Martial Arts)

Hi C. Fred. The one fight was for the light heavyweight championship. He won the fight and was therefore declared the champion for that year. He deserves to be recognized for his accomplishment. Wikipedia asked if I wanted to write an article about this man when I clicked on his name, so I did. He is recognized by his high school as a notable alumni. Thank you for your consideration.Donerpass (talk) 03:37, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

@Donerpass: Was that fight for the highest title of the organization, and is it a top-tier organization? Just winning Bad Boys may not be enough to qualify—and it was in his article when it was deleted before. —C.Fred (talk) 03:43, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Yes, It was for the light heavyweight championship. That is indicated on the source. The organization id legitimate. The fight was broadcasted nationally on of Fox Sports. This information is on the link used as the source. http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/f/B55FC4F481487E3D/James-Lee/Donerpass (talk) 09:22, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Answering my own question, according to WP:MMANOT, it's a second-tier promotion. So, Lee is still not a notable MMA fighter. —C.Fred (talk) 13:25, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Big East

The "old" big east has no relevance in basketball. The distinction only matters for football because of the AAC wanting to keep its BCS bid. As you can see at the Big East basketball media guide, all basketball history of the conference back to 1980 is owned by the current Big East. This is no different than the Southern Conference, that has had Kenticky, UNC, West Virginia, etc. in its history and now is a second-tier league. If you want to dispute this, do so in a discussion at the Big East article talkage, not by reverting my edits because I have grounds to make the edits I am making, and it is backed up by primary sources. Why you edited my post

Robert Durand is an actual soccer player for JCU. I am trying to find out more about him. The Rob Durand page that is currently up is a fake Rob Durand. My name is Jack Brach and I am an intern in the sports department of the Clevland newspaper. I was making a article about this kid but now I need to start over. How do I make a specific article instead of changing one? Jackthebrach (talk) 04:52, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

@Jackthebrach: First, please review WP:BIO and WP:NSPORTS to make sure that the soccer player is notable. As a rule, college athletes aren't. If he is, start an article titled something like Rob Durand (soccer player); the existing article needs to remain, at least for the time being, about the politician. —C.Fred (talk) 05:02, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Lol, you the one who mentioned me there! I have nothing against people following me unless they are doing something wrong. Nonetheless, come down. I am pretty much done with your personal attacks anyways and whatever the reason you have against understanding that I am unable to hid or delete edits on Wikipedia. When you finally decide not to constantly make attacks against me then we can return to continue or start any discussion you like. Have a nice day. AcidSnow (talk) 18:54, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Rob Durand

Thanks for getting back to me. I am new to Wikipedia so I was wondering if you could make the Rob Durand soccer page and I'll add info to it. I do not know how to make a page. Thanks. Jackthebrach (talk) 13:16, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

@Jackthebrach: You'll need to provide a list of reliable sources first, so I can determine that he's notable. —C.Fred (talk) 14:00, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

If you look up "Robert Durand soccer" there are plenty of unbaised articles on him. Thanks, Jack. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jackthebrach (talkcontribs)

I'm seeing some Maxpreps coverage and local news, but nothing of the scope for WP:GNG. Nor do I see anything that would make him meet WP:NFOOTY. —C.Fred (talk) 14:46, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Your saying that there is criteria for an athlete to have an article

Yes. Longstanding ones. —C.Fred (talk) 15:19, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
Yes, for a soccer player, the guidelines are WP:NFOOTY, which basically says they either have to have played in a fully professional league (which college football leagues aren't), or played for their country. There's also the general notability guidelines, and if they pass that, they can have an article. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:23, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Then why do other college athletes such as Conner cook have an article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jackthebrach (talkcontribs) 16:01, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

@Jackthebrach: Other stuff exists. We were discussing why Durand may not have an article. If you feel other articles have slipped through the cracks, you're welcome to tag them for attention.
As for Cook, he's not subject to the notability guidelines of WP:NFOOTY. He is subject to WP:NCOLLATH, and his two major MVP awards in single games appear to be enough to show he's gotten individual attention. —C.Fred (talk) 16:30, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

He has gotten attention through out the state of Michigan as well as multiple accolades for his play. He was recruited by division one teams such as Clemson, Boston College, Wake Forest, South Carolina, and Notre Dame. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jackthebrach (talkcontribs) 22:37, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

@Jackthebrach: What reliable sources covered him? —C.Fred (talk) 22:39, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

I interviewed his family and they talked to me about the recruitment of athletes. I asked to see the letters and there were 28 of them ranging from division one-division three. The article is being worked on by my editors and then it will be published. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jackthebrach (talkcontribs) 22:49, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

If you're working that closely with the family, it sounds like you have a conflict of interest. —C.Fred (talk) 22:51, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

I interviewed other families going through the process as well. He was the most notable of the group. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jackthebrach (talkcontribs) 23:21, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Your not posting my edits

Dear Fred I am Historical Artist John Paul Strain and someone is editing information about me that is inaccurate. I have tried to correct and update the page, but you are not allowing these changes to be posted. Art Reviewer Check (talk) 04:30, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

@Art Reviewer Check: The changes are not being allowed because the text is copied from another website whose license is incompatible with Wikipedia. You've already been notified about the copyright violation.
Further, if you are Strain, you should not be editing your own article because of your conflict of interest. —C.Fred (talk) 12:40, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

Dear Fred Accordingly to another editor, I am allowed to edit a page carefully. "All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible."

Regards John

Art Reviewer Check (talk) 13:26, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

@Art Reviewer Check: You may, but you have to edit very carefully. That's why it's generally recommended that you should not edit your own article. —C.Fred (talk) 14:00, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
You'll notice that NeilN echoed my comments on your talk page: you should not be editing an article that is about you. —C.Fred (talk) 14:02, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi C.Fred, I wanted to correct your statement to Valleryking. That is the master account. The confirmed sock was created while Valleryking was blocked.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:34, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

@Bbb23: Can you revise the block message, then? The template on Valleryking's talk page says they were blocked as the puppet, not the master. Also, what was Valleryking's problematic edits that led to the block for sockpuppetry? Having multiple accounts isn't blockable, but abusing them is; was the nature of the abuse edit warring at the Summer Rae and Total Divas articles? —C.Fred (talk) 22:17, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
The block message is correct. Valleryking is blocked as the master, and True Real is blocked as the sock. As for disruption, first, even without disruption, it's block evasion. Second, they went back to one of the pages they edited before being blocked and edited it again, although not in the same way as before. Third, the message they left on my Talk page, although not completely comprehensible, I interepreted as a partial threat. It could be interpreted differently. The indefinite block of True Real is clearly warranted. Whether Valleryking's block should have been increased to indefinite is marginally debatable but ultimately, giving their history, justifiable.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:32, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
@Bbb23: My issue is with the {{uw-sockblock}} message on User talk:Valleryking, because that makes it look like Valleryking is the puppet, not the master. I think the masterblock=yes parameter should have been set. Now that I look at the log, I see what happened: Valleryking was blocked for abuse, created a new account to try to end run around the block, and then got the indefinite block. —C.Fred (talk) 22:48, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
Oh, I see the confusion. It's my misunderstanding of what you were saying (you were clear enough). I thought you were talking about the user page tag, not the talk page block notice. That's just an artifact of Twinkle. If it bothers you, you could suggest that Twinkle have two kinds of block notices, one for masters, and one for puppets. I'm so used to using it for both, I don't even pay attention.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:06, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
@Bbb23: There are some blocks I don't do through Twinkle for just that reason. —C.Fred (talk) 23:10, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
I understand your perspective, but if you knew how many socks I block as a checkuser. Sometimes huge lists from one SPI. I go through each account on the list (and I'm the one who created the list) methodically, blocking, notifying, and tagging, but I begrudge every click because it takes so long to finish. I'm sure I'm not the only checkuser or SPI clerk who uses Twinkle. I'm fairly fastidious, but I have my limits, especially when it comes to this kind of behavior.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:19, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
I see your point. Or, I know what happens with rollback with a user who has gobs of clearly bad contributions and one marginal one—the marginal one goes out the same way. —C.Fred (talk) 23:20, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

Michelle Shocked correcting wrong information.

I have a question, I have documentation proving that that sources for Michelle Shocked you have on her Wiki page are all wrong, beginning with the most basic biographical detail - her birth name Here is the question, would you grant me access to correct or verify other erroneous 'facts' or are you all committed to allowing lies to be on the wiki page of Michelle Shocked?....I appreciate your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trichey (talkcontribs) 17:42, 12 July 2015 (UTC)

@Trichey: Neither. Please list your sources, either here or on the article talk page, so they can be verified. If the sources are admissible, reliable, and check out, then I'll change the article myself. —C.Fred (talk) 18:36, 12 July 2015 (UTC)

Michelle Shocked correcting birth name?

There many things that are really wrong with Michelle Shocked's Wiki page. I will just start with one example. If I showed you a notarized, official birth certificate issued by the State of Texas for Michelle Shocked. Which has her real name and not the one that is published on Wiki, would you change it to her correct birth name? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trichey (talkcontribs) 01:57, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

@Trichey: Please review WP:BLPPRIMARY. A birth certificate should not be used as a source, nor should court records or similar public documents. —C.Fred (talk) 02:27, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

Please warn or block a very problematic vandal

Hi,

There's a serious problem with a user whose talk page is User talk:89.84.21.178. What you read on that talk page continues to happen. I suspect he/she is a Wikipedian that is evading a block, not your typical vandal. Some examples are here, here and here. I have not fully examined his/her edit history to see if there is more damage. Please take action, and for future situations, could you please tell me if a non-Administrator such as myself can slap a vandalism template on a talk page? Thank you very much in advance. Dontreader (talk) 20:03, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

@Dontreader: Any user can warn another user for problematic edits. The only special privilege an administrator has is the ability to block the user. (For non-administrators, they have to file a report at WP:AIV for persistent vandals or WP:ANI for other persistent problematic editors.) —C.Fred (talk) 20:09, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
Thank you very much for both the warning and the information. I was about to report to you the new instance of vandalism but you detected it before I did. I look forward to using the vandalism templates in the future! Have a great day... Dontreader (talk) 20:15, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi again. That user made this edit since the warning you gave him/her. I reverted it, as you can see. Please double check to verify that what I did was right, and if so, I hope we can get rid of that person with a block, if that's appropriate at this point. There's another new edit that I haven't checked yet. Thanks in advance... Dontreader (talk) 03:31, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
Hello once again. Please look at List of awards and nominations received by Eminem. He's still doing damage. I checked reliable sources to confirm that he vandalized the article. Hopefully you have issued enough warnings and he can now be blocked permanently. He's a difficult vandal because it takes time to prove that he's introducing misinformation, unlike the usual vandals that add stupid content that is obviously vandalism. A temporary block would be useless, in my humble opinion. Regards... Dontreader (talk) 19:18, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Few days ago someone changed tons of BLP unsourced to blp sources tags even though there were no refs just EL's

Okay the guy did stop-but still it is a mess-the user's history is here: Patchy1-I have undone quite a few though, but yeah it was crazy (the article of Wikipedia:Database reports/Biographies of living people possibly eligible for deletion now has tons of these no longer listed as unsourced even though they still are). Wgolf (talk) 00:18, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

Looks like the user Tehseenahmad96 is removing BLP prods yet again!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Tehseenahmad96 and still doing the unsourced/non notable BLP's also! Wgolf (talk) 00:00, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

Im josephyangjoombas. I removed the page because someone is keep changing the title.. and i want to revert it but it says that im not a specific level account holder to revert the tile back to the original or even change it.. If YOU could maybe help me by changing the title to Dean (Singer) or Dean (Singer-Songwriter) that will be appreciated! Although he is Korean, he is an active singer songwriter in the United States of America. If you could take the South Korean out, that will be thankful

Dear Sir,

We need you to remove our deleted page including page title from all search engines. We saw unprofessional, wrong comments after deleting our page like copy write infringement and other comments like that. We respect our work and need you to remove everything about this page from Wikipedia as soon as possible.

We are looking forward to your fast action.

Sincerely, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akaviani (talkcontribs) 20:45, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

@Akaviani: Sorry, but Wikipedia has no control over what data is retained by search engines. —C.Fred (talk) 21:30, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
Actually, I stand corrected. You can remove the search hits from Google yourself: see Wikipedia:Purging Google search results for directions.
As for the logs of the article deletion, we can't delete those. They'll be there, but they shouldn't turn up in Google searches. Plus, all the deletion for copyright infringement indicates is that somebody took material from the subject's web page and copied it onto Wikipedia. —C.Fred (talk) 21:36, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi,

FYI if you come across edits like that again, it may be worthwhile raising an SPI as it's likely to be this user. --5 albert square (talk) 02:50, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

@5 albert square: Thanks for the tip on who to report. Frankly, I figured one more edit, and there'd be enough quacking that I could block that editor, and the related accounts that showed up today. —C.Fred (talk) 02:53, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
No worries, wasn't sure if you were familiar with that editor. You'd think they'd have something better to do with their time! :)--5 albert square (talk) 03:07, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

Majin Buu

Listen i know when there is a typo and i know When i typed Majin Buu its because thats the direct spelling of the funimation dub as seen so i Have to put the uu in Buu

SliverSonic (talk) 18:54, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
@SliverSonic: Therein may be the problem. The Funimation dub is generally not relied upon for the articles; other translations and romanizations are. —C.Fred (talk) 18:55, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
Yep, confirmed that's not the spelling we use. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Dragon Ball/FAQ. —C.Fred (talk) 18:58, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

You wrote me. I say: Yeah, but the vast majority of the article lacks citation

Every sentence, therefore, to preserve fairness to me, has to be removed from the article if it lacks citation.

The alternative is to permit those sentences and my sentences along with them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nn9888 (talkcontribs) 03:19, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

That IP user

The IP user who took me to ANI is continuing to jump socks. It's super frustrating. He's now asking me to edit a page that was IP-protected, the Ellalan (monarch) page in question. User:112.134.74.110 (talk · contribs) 175.157.220.11 (talk · contribs). Ogress smash! 01:27, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

Something went hay wire when you added PP to the article, because the page wasn't actually protected. The page protection icon was also goofy. I added two-week page protection. If the length of protection or something else isn't right, feel free to change it. Bgwhite (talk) 05:12, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

@Bgwhite: It was NeilN that did the protection, not I, but I didn't catch the issue with the template. (And I hope I didn't unprotect the article as a side effect of undoing a pre-protection edit; I should've double-checked that.) Thank you for catching it and fixing it. —C.Fred (talk) 14:25, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
Bgwhite, can you define goofy? I'm not seeing anything obvious. [12], [13] --NeilN talk to me 14:31, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
@NeilN: Sorry, my mistake. I thought (there's my problem right there) C.Fred was the one adding protection. The icon contained a link to user space, thus it looked goofy. Sorry for causing the confusion. Bgwhite (talk) 19:50, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

Questions

Hello C.Fred, this is my first time as a wikipedian. Thats why I'm writing to you so that I could help you out as much as i could in order to fix all these screw ups i've made in two pages i have created. Let me first introduce myself to you. I am a former Joombas intern. After my contract as an intern had ended, i really fell in love with this company. Therefore as a favor, I made an wikipedia page for the Company and their newly released artist Dean. I am not trying to promote them or anything. I just want all the music lovers to really know who this company is and how much of amazing songs they have produced and written. I am sorry for all the misconceptions and causing hard time for you. So could we possibly talk about Dean's page? In order for him to be notable, what type of prove do i need to present to you guys? I will try my best to contact the company and get you the most reliable information as possible. Here's a link | Itunes. On this itunes page, you could see that Dean is a singer signed and released in the US by Joombas and Universal. You could also find him on Spotify if needed for more prove. Due to the fact that he is new artist and he does not have much to present. "I'm Not Sorry" was his first official single. He will soon be coming out with more song soon (as fast as in one week). All i can tell you is that Dean is getting very big at the moment. Which means more people are going to search him on up Wikipedia. Therefore, because i have worked for Joombas and Dean, i believe that i could be the best and most reliable person to start their page and would love to help them add contents for all the great experiences and love they have given me at this internship. If there is anything i can send to you, please let me know. I will be more than happy to cooperate with you. Sorry for the hardship i gave you. I was little frustrated at the fact that the title was changed to something that was very unexpected. I would like to apologize for that part. You could always contact me at josephyangjoombas@gmail.com. If i'm not suppose to put up my email. please erase it for me haha. Thank you very much. Your ribbon stack, help!

Hey, User:C.Fred.

I need help, i like the way you have arranged your ribbons, if you would look at my profile, mines aren't side to side, and they are in the4 left, i want them connected side to side like yours and in the middle between the first top two wing badges. anyway you could help, friend?

Thanks! --Luis Santos24 (talk) 03:27, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

@Luis Santos24: I use the direct code for the ribbon images rather than the placement templates, so I'm just directly arranging the images. Even so, I'd like to get the images tighter together, but I think the MediaWiki software inherently leaves some space between them. —C.Fred (talk) 03:35, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

User:C.Fred, I would copy, and paste it while putting my ribbons in place of yours, but I don't know how that coding works if I were to remove something. I apologize for my ignorance, is there any way you could make one specifically for my two ribbons? I tried talking to my adopter about it, but no help. I would greatly appreciate if you could, and I could edit something for you but I doubt that would help you are much more seasoned and experienced then I. Anyways, any help I can appreciate but I really want them, side to side in the middle on top of the two first badges. Feel free to go on my profile itself and take a look.

Thanks! --Luis Santos24 (talk) 03:44, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

@Luis Santos24: I went to Wikipedia:Incremental service awards (Ribbons) and looked at the table of ribbons, then used the code for the small ribbons. I set mine to be 90 pixels wide; I'm going with the same size for yours.
I had to do two tricks with mine. First, for the spacing, I forced the top row in by 45 pixels. Second, one of my ribbons is overlaid with a 3 pin.
Anyway, here's the ribbons for you:

Hi I recently wanted to work on this page and saw it had been deleted for poor notability and references. Thank you so very much for your time and will be here patiently waiting for your response at your earliest convenience. Vlolv (talk) 04:00, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

@Vlolv: You may want to start by creating a draft of the page at Draft:The Night Runners. Then you can submit it for review and get some guidance and updates. You will need to make sure you address all the issues raised at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Night Runners, including the band's failure to meet WP:NBAND.
Also, given the history of articles for this band, do not be surprised if your actions receive a lot of scrutiny. @NawlinWiki: Courtesy ping to make you aware of this discussion. —C.Fred (talk) 14:18, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

Hey User:C.Fred i see you have helped me with my Page. May i ask how there is a way to make the article meet wikipedia's guidlines for music. And also the artist i am submitting also has a verified facebook account how can i add that link to the external links. Thank you for your valued time. --NewRoyalty (talk) 17:33, 30 July 2015 (UTC)

@NewRoyalty: For Calvin Ross to meet the guidelines for music, he'll need to have his single hit the charts, or his album when it comes out, or release two albums on major labels. It's all spelled out in the linked guideline. As for the Facebook account...probably not. If there's a link to the Facebook page from the artist's main website, we only link to the official website. If the artist has no website, then the Facebook page may be acceptable instead of the website. See WP:ELMINOFFICIAL for more info. —C.Fred (talk) 18:29, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
User:C.Fred Thank you for your speedy responce and i understand the policies a lot better now. Will the page be deleted ? If so can it be created again at a later date. Or can i turn the page into a draft until he gets the correct material? --NewRoyalty (talk) 18:44, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
@NewRoyalty: It's not up for deletion yet, but since you appear to have a conflict of interest, since you've taken promotional photos of the subject, that might hasten the path to deletion. —C.Fred (talk) 18:51, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
User:C.Fred I didnt take the photos, neither do i personally know the individual who did. I submitted the wrong info when publishing it. The picture is of public domain. Should i delete the pictures. --NewRoyalty (talk) 21:13, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
@NewRoyalty: If it is in the public domain, you will need to show where it has been published and released into the public domain. Most images on the web are not PD. —C.Fred (talk) 21:15, 30 July 2015 (UTC)

Calvary Lutheran Church Stayton, Oregon

I am just trying to start an informational page for our church. And this is not allowed? We simply want to add history etc — Preceding unsigned comment added by OeltjenD (talkcontribs) 03:23, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

@OeltjenD: It is probably not allowed. You need to show that the church is a notable organization, and not just at the local level. While denominations and other national bodies are notable, individual churches are rarely, if ever, notable enough for their own articles. —C.Fred (talk) 03:29, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

Editing lies about the Bible in the Book of Luke.

I have attempted several times to edit but all have been deleted. I fail to understand your reasoning. You say verifiable sources must be used. I have used the "THE BIBLE" Explain this. There are several articles which give "human interpretation" of the Bible. They take scripture verses and then quote "humans" which give the scripture a different meaning of what the scripture is saying. I refute that. I can give no "HUMAN AUTHORS" to refute other "HUMAN AUTHORS" I can give you GOD's interpretation of the Bible. It's in the BIBLE. I am quoting the Bible. And you say you want me to giver a human reference? Outrageous. I am simply quoting the Bible verbatim ... word for word....and refuting those who have taken the scriptures out of context and added their own interpretations which suit their agendas and then giving "other" human authors" which agree with them" I HAVE quoted a verifiable source, IE, The Bible. "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this Book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this Book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the Book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the Book of Life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this Book" Revelation 22:18-19. This is clearly showing that no human is able to twist the words of the Bible out of context or add or subtract any words. You seem to think that HUMANS are able to change the Bible. They cannot. Why have you allowed a human to represent a "verifiable source"? GOD....is THE verifiable source. Why have you allowed humans to interpret and change the BIBLE? And further, what are you going to do about it?ChristianRand (talk) 15:54, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

@ChristianRand: There is implicitly human interpretation of the Bible. From the copying of the Bible into written versions, to errors in duplication, to translations, to addition or removal of books, to more translations, it is hard to say that the Bible is quoted "word for word".
To say that a scripture is taken out of context requires interpretation of the scripture. And that is a human activity. If you're putting your intrepration, that's original research. That's why, for matters of interpretation, we look to highly-regarded biblical scholars and go with their interpretations that have been accepted as scholarly literature.
The question "Why have you allowed humans to interpret and change the Bible" is better addressed to God, not me. He's better able to explain why he's let it go own for two thousand years plus.
As for what I'm going to do about it? Since we're on Wikipedia, I'm going to abide by Wikipedia's guidelines about original research and synthesis. —C.Fred (talk) 16:10, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

Djibrill Bassolé

Hello C.Fred,

I'm very new at Wikipedia. I recently met a professor who has written the official biography of Djibrill Bassolé which you can find on his official website: www.bassole.com His wiki page was very small and therefore I added few points about his career, education and family - ALL taken from his official biography. I don't understand what I have done wrong as this information is 100% official. I hope to hear from you very soon and I hope you will publish what I have added as Djibrill Bassolé is a known peace maker on the continent and deserves a better wiki page.

Regards Trueafrica (talk) 18:35, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

@Trueafrica: Part of the problem it is written so glowlingly about Bassolé that it violates WP:NPOV. Language of that kind is fine on the subject's website, acceptable in a biography, but unacceptable in a neutral encyclopedia article. —C.Fred (talk) 18:36, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Fine, I will rewrite more under a bullet point form but his career is quit something! Thanks. Trueafrica (talk) 18:40, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

@Trueafrica: It's not the formatting, it's the word choice. Here's an example: "Raised by an open and compassionate family, Mr. Bassolé learned the true meaning of generosity from his mother, who selflessly cared for dozens of orphans throughout his youth. He is married, a father of five children, and a proud grandfather of a little boy."[emphasis added] all the bolded phrases are peacock language, overly praising of the subject. —C.Fred (talk) 18:42, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

I see this was deleted as "not significant" yet Zac has been released on Ministry of Sound, has had a #1 on Beatport, ranked Top 16 DJ in Australia by leading InTheMix awards and is headlining a feature act at Roar Festival in 2016. Other artists are provided pages including Anja Nissan who Zac Produced the Dance Mix for her Song "I'm So Excited" with Will.i.am. Can you please explain? GLGosling 4th August 2015

Question about my article

Hi Fred,

I am new to Wikipedia and don't want to get off on the wrong foot. I just wanted to add my product to the list of network monitors and tried to create an article that was similar to the others. It is admittedly an attempt to let people know that the product exists so to that extend it is promotion. So I guess my question is, can I add my product to the list of networking monitoring applications? If not, how can I can my product listed?

Thanks for your help with this.

Sleep For Sleepers Edit

Hello,

I received a message from you about editing the page for Sleep For Sleepers. I'm sure you get this a ton, but I am definitely new to this, and really am having a hard time sifting through how to use this site. I edited the page for the band I am in, but it was deleted due to a possible conflict of interest. I understand that me being in the band can create some conflict, but I believe if you were to read through my draft, you would be able to see how even keel and well written it is compared to the incorrect information posted on our page currently. It's sad to see the information on their currently... barely any of it is correct, and it has many grammatical errors and incorrect timelines. I am including a link to the most recent revisions I made - please let me know where I go from here to get this information posted permanently, thanks!

Personal biasness shown by Cyphoidbomb

I had a talk page disscussion over article balouchistan Pakistan where my position was oposite from User Cyphoidbomb. All ended with a concensus. After that for another article Baluchistan I am here on DRN against User Cyphoidbomb https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard#Talk:Balochistan.23Recent_changes, but with out being relevant to another article's (Khyber Paktunkhwa) dispute (between me and User Jasimkhanum 10 on maintaning pre dispute version of article), Cyphoidbomb started persanol revenge game. 1. He misrepresented me on ANI read https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia%3AAdministrators%27_noticeboard%2FEdit_warring&type=revision&diff=675320060&oldid=675310006 2. Connecticut ComiCONN page deletion

It has been requested that the page originally started be removed. I was the original creator of the page, I went in and deleted the content on Aug. 10, 2015 and asked that the page be removed. I see it is back. Please note that the owner of the trademark is asking for this. He will replace page with new content. Normanwright227 (talk) 10:24, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

@Normanwright227: You were not the original creator of the current version of the page. However, you have contributed to the page, which is why it can't be speedy deleted under CSD G7: that only applies when a single editor has contributed.
Whether or not the trademark creator is asking for deletion is irrelevant: he does not own the article. Arguably, he shouldn't be editing the article at all; that should be left to independent editors.
All that said, I have my reservations on whether Connecticut ComiCONN should have an article at all; I nearly nominated it for deletion yesterday. If it goes through deletion discussion, then the page may not be recreated, at least not until the event becomes substantially more notable. —C.Fred (talk) 12:12, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

Ariana Grande's Religious Affiliation

Before anything, I do have to say: this is personal to her & I'm not sure we should be disclosing or discussing it on Wikipedia in the first place. Ideally this entire blurb would be removed entirely from her 'Personal life' section.

However, I noticed a bias in tone against Catholicism in the status quo & took exception to it—so I edited it. You mentioned that my edit wasn't neutral, but you brought back the demeaning language against Catholicism right after you rejected my edit. The word "disillusioned" came right back.

If you'd like to keep this neutral, then actually keep it neutral. Thanks.

TheALmighty66 (talk) 23:49, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

@TheALmighty66: If the source says she left Catholicism because she was disillusioned by it, then neutral POV says to state that.
Likewise, if you're going to assert that Kabbalism is more convenient, then you need to show a reliable source that says that's why she chose the practice (or a reliable source that refers to the practice as more convenient than Catholicism).
With all due respect, both halves of your edits suggest a pro-Catholicism bias.
As for it being her personal life, I'd agree with you, if she hadn't made public statements about her departure from the church. —C.Fred (talk) 02:09, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

Making my own page

Hi, I am a new user to Wiki. My purpose it to write articles that highlight unknown women in the arts. I am one of them. It has taken too long for my publisher to write my Wiki page, so I decided to. I need it for career validity. I did not write anything that has not been written about me by third parties in the press. Please let me keep my page up! All content from my page is meant as reference material and to give it validity- not for self-promotion. I am allowing this to be copied. Let me know. Thank you, Ash Thayer KC155 (talk) 03:33, 16 August 2015 (UTC)KC155

@KC155: Welcome to Wikipedia. A few things. First, you should not be writing your Wiki page, nor should your publisher. It should be written by independent parties. You do not need a Wikipedia page for career validity; a Wikipedia page would document that your career has achieved the level of notability per our standards. Once you're notable, then an article can be written based on third-party sources.
Generally the text on a subject's own website is not written from neutral point of view and may not be used for a Wikipedia. Further, from a legal standpoint, we do not re-use text that is under an all-rights-reserved license. To be able to re-use the text on here, it needs to be under a free license. Be advised that donating the text is irrevocable; once it's donated, anybody can re-use it for any purpose, including commercial re-use. —C.Fred (talk) 03:39, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

Adding links to Official Homepages of parishes listed in Episcopal Diocese articles

Hi C.Fred,

You said to respond to you if I thought you did something wrong by removing my link, so here I am, responding!

I think you were wrong because:

1) Plenty of other diocese articles have links to the official websites of the parishes that they list as member parishes. I wasn't breaking new ground here--there is ample precedent on Wikipedia for what I attempted to do. 2) What, may I ask, is the purpose of having a long list of anything on Wikipedia if Wikipedia is not open to enabling links to the official entity that is cited in the list? Isn't the whole purpose of Wikipedia to provide information, at whatever level that information is available, as long as that information has been validated as trustworthy? The URL I attempted to link to as "official" can be validated by checking both the official site of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta as well as the national Episcopal Church.

I await your response. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kbalexx119 (talkcontribs) 14:18, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)Three policies are involved here. Our policy on external links discourages such links, because Wikipedia is not a directory, but rather an encyclopedia. The third policy is WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS: i.e., just because you see something in one article, doesn't mean that you should blindly copy it in another: it is possible that nobody has yet gotten around to cleaning up the one on which you are modeling your own work. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:02, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
@Kbalexx119: Orangemike has it covered pretty succinctly. The other diocese articles should not have links to their parish websites. Each article stands on its own merits. Thus, the Diocese of Atlanta page needs to comply with WP:EL whether or not other dioceses' pages are in compliance. The other articles, when found, will likely have the links cleared out. Furthermore, the parish websites can be located by searching for the parish at the diocese website, so there's no need for us to have the redundant data. (This is true whether the diocese was hosting the website or whether it is just providing a link to the parish's site.)
Now, that policy applies to external links. Internal links are another matter, so the list entry might be "St. Clare's (Blairsville)", with a link to the article on Wikipedia about Blairsville. Most individual parishes are not notable, so they would not have their own articles; some individual churches do have articles, either due to the history of their building or of notable events that have taken place there.
Why have the list? It provides context to the reader to see the locations of the churches and the names. External links to the church websites, however, are to be avoided per Wikipedia policies. We're an encyclopedia, and the article is to provide information to readers about the diocese—not just to act as a directory for the parishes within it. —C.Fred (talk) 16:25, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

OK guys, I know when to wave the white flag when I'm outnumbered and being told I'm violating policy. ;)

If I can I winge briefly though, I think it's a bad policy. And I don't understand the justification for the policy, unless it's to prevent Wikipedia users from clicking out of Wikipedia-land to pursue information about listed items that they might be interested in. I'm also skeptical about the "notability" policy, since notability is an inherently subjective term, almost by definition. What's "notable" to you, I can assure you, will not always be "notable" to me, and vice versa. I'm pretty sure none of us have been given any supernatural powers to unfailingly decide what's "notable".

That said, I very much appreciate your patient instructions to a Wikipedia newbie. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kbalexx119 (talkcontribs) 21:11, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

@Kbalexx119: The purpose is to keep the articles from becoming littered with external links. There's a section at the bottom of each article for external links that are relevant to the subject of the article. Even then, why try to minimize the number, to keep it from overwhelming the article.
As for notability, yes, it is subjective, but that's why several guidelines have emerged over time to provide indicators of notability that are more objective. The main one is the general notability guideline: if a subject has gotten substantial coverage in reliable sources, that generally means the subject is notable. Reliable sources here are of regional or national scope: articles in the North Georgia News wouldn't suffice, since it's a local paper, but a write-up in USA Today, Newsweek, or the like would. There are also specific notability guidelines, including one for organizations, including nonprofits. —C.Fred (talk) 21:24, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

It looks like the edit war report on WP:ANEW got archived without any action, but they're at it again—specifically, on Henry Danger, going against MOS (a couple examples include WP:OVERLINKING and WP:MOSBOLD), removing references, and changing references without any explanation. Per advice from Cyphoidbomb on my talk page, Friday night when they again made their problematic edits, I left the article alone and left them a message on their talk page encouraging them to self-revert and discuss. Another user reverted them the next morning, but last night they again inserted their edits, so I reverted them without waiting this time as they failed to respond within 24 hours. Now, once again I reverted them a little while ago for the same reason. At this point, they're just being disruptive and are not willing to discuss anything, and, as mentioned in my report, they seem to have a history of this from looking at their contributions and talk page. If you could look into this, that would be appreciated. Thanks! Amaury (talk) 02:53, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

COI tag for The City Reliquary

Is there any way to resolve the current Conflict of Interest tag? The article for The City Reliquary is written from a neutral perspective, albeit by an employee. The content does not overtly promote the museum, but gives the reader an idea of what it offers and how it fits into the museum community of New York City. Scelentano81 (talk) 18:09, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

@Scelentano81: For it to be resolved, independent editors will need to review the article and determine that the article is written neutrally. Given that maintenance tags are getting added by other editors, I think the article has a ways to go before the tag gets removed. —C.Fred (talk) 18:11, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
@C.Fred:: There haven't been any tags added since an editor decided to remove the orphan tag on August 19. Since the article's creation, there have been no edits made with regard to content, but only regarding stylistic matters. No editor has raised an issue concerning the perspective from which the article is written. Wouldn't this mean that no editor has found a neutrality issue?Scelentano81 (talk) 18:20, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

The redirect was because I was trying to redirect Centralized Lubrication System to direct to this page... the machines are more commonly known as Centralized Lubrication System and not Automated lubrication system. but both are fine just wanted centralized to point to the page but failed on my first attempt ... still learning ... 4 September 2015 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jtcar (talkcontribs) 15:31, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

daa plc

Its commonly refered to as the Dublin Airport Authority or the DAA, like Microsoft not Microsoft Corporation. The move you reverted was an undo of his previous move literally 1 minute before. I will return it if there isn't a clear reason why not too. Murry1975 (talk) 19:46, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

@Murry1975: The clear reason is that the name of the organization is Daa plc, per the intro of the article. The supporting reason is that DylanMcKaneWiki has a history of inappropriate page moves. —C.Fred (talk) 19:55, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
Yes he moved it to daa plc and then back. Murry1975 (talk) 21:30, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
@Murry1975: Hang on, let me recheck the history of Daa plc. —C.Fred (talk) 21:41, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
Yep, I missed that the first time around. I'll take my trout grilled with a side of mashed potatoes and a Guinness, please. :) —C.Fred (talk) 21:44, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
You're alright bud. That's why I was asking in case I had missed something. Thanks for your help. Murry1975 (talk) 22:11, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

Fred, this is jack. Thanks for the changes. As you know, my page has been subject to much editing. It was clearly high jacked several years ago and thanks to John and some others was vastly improved. However, it still is somewhat ridiculous especially when compared with my colleagues and the Mayor. My is by far the longest with total trivia much used to embarrass me. The inclusion of my prior salary at central benefits almost 10 years ago is less relevant than Patton Boggs. And the council salary is not only wrong but does not appear in any other members page. Nor the Mayors page!!! The reference to the elected attorney general is several years old and again not accurate. I ended up supporting it. The paragraph should be deleted and indeed was until Bang added it back. These are just a few. I would appreciate your considering these changes. Also, is this the best way to communicate? Jack — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.190.115.106 (talk) 01:39, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

The best way to communicate, if it's about changes to the article, is at the article's talk page. It's on my watchlist, so I'll see the messages. —C.Fred (talk) 01:58, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
As for the salary, though, it's relevant because it shows outside employment while holding a high-paying job on the council. —C.Fred (talk) 01:59, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

I can't find the articles talk page. Can you leave a link on this page so I can go to it? Thanks. My overall question is "will you read my entire page and knowing you experience edit it accordingly." The page is a compromise between those who want to put on "snarky" information and a factual presentation you would find in an encyclopedia and elsewhere on Wikipedia. I have only asked that I be treated fairly. An example is my marriage. I checked all other council members pages. None mention their spouse. Phil Mendelson, the chairman, was recently divorced as was Mary Cheh. No mention even though cheh's children are mentioned. As one of your editors said it is no ones business. The constituent fund is not mentioned in any other members page even though several have been investigated. The attorney general paragraph is factually incorrect. And I can go on and on. Please take a look and I will accept your judgement. Thanks. Jack — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.190.115.106 (talk) 14:54, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

Curious you say that you can't find the talk page, since you participated in discussion there yesterday. As for the other members' articles, other stuff exists. Discussion of what's on Evans's page should be limited to whether it is appropriate for an article about Evans, not about parity with other councilmembers' pages.
With respect to the AG paragraph, demonstrate one of the following three if you want it changed: (1) the material is unsourced and should be deleted; (2) the material misrepresents the cited source and should be edited; or (3) other sources of equal or better reliability exist that present a different view, and the article should be edited. —C.Fred (talk) 14:58, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

The SMC Campus Chicken

Why did you delete it so prematurely? This page was not nearly finished, and yes it is notable to our (smc's)community. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Autusa7 (talkcontribs) 00:05, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

@Autusa7: The notability has to be beyond the campus. I did a Google search and found no reliable, secondary sources about the chicken; the only hits about it were the Facebook page. Thus, while it's not a hoax, it's clearly a non-notable animal. —C.Fred (talk) 00:10, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

Don't only judge what you have read on my article. Consider it as a gift of latent talent. Do you notice that my article is on the speedy deletion? So help me to improve it, not to judge it. @Albert.marcus29: We have an article on ALS already. There's no need for the article you created; if anything, we need to scrap the content and write about BALS. —C.Fred (talk) 00:42, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

Xixianykus

About my edit of the article Xixianykus, I did so to suggest that there are multiple trains of thought. As far as I know there are at least two trains of thought as of the possible time range that dinosaurs existed. Evolutionists say they died out approximately 65 million years ago, while creationists say they could still be alive because they haven't search the entire globe. It would appear as the evolutionists are assuming while creationists appear to aggree with what they observe and know. Now evolutionist do the same but they assume too much. It might sound biased of us to say that in any articles, so we dont need to unless it is for the good of Wikipedia. Just allow for clarification of whom believes what theory. It might be good to say "The evolutionary theory tells us/suggests the Xixianykus lived during the Cretaceous period..." or something like that. Please let know what you think. Christian Sirolli (talk) 21:43, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

@Christian Sirolli: Please review reliable sources: if we're going to mention the creationist view, they'll be held to the same standard as the evolutionist view. Be advised that some editors may view creationism as a fringe theory in this area, so you may be held to a stricter standard of providing secondary, scholarly sources. —C.Fred (talk) 21:46, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
Ok thanks for the input. But could we go add to the page what I suggested? Just to new more specific? Christian Sirolli (talk) 21:52, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
@Christian Sirolli: I suggest opening discussion at Talk:Xixianykus to see if there's support for your change. Make sure you show reliable sources. —C.Fred (talk) 22:44, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
Ok, I'll do that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Christian Sirolli (talkcontribs) 00:50, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

'Notable Residents"

It is useless to allow desperate cities to put that this or that "notable person" had some affiliation with that city at some point. THis actually goes against any idea of a neutrality policy and allows cities to write pages as an advertisement, making a fake impression that their city has so many famous people just because someone took a dump there once. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Frootertoot (talkcontribs) 00:57, 12 September 2015 (UTC)

The Destroyers redirection edit

Hi.

You edited my edit because i didn't leave a reason. i did leave a reason. The Destroyers are a UK band. George Thorogood's band are the Delaware Destroyers. Both bands have been going since the early 70s. I have submitted an article for inclusion in the wiki and obviously the page will be titled, The Destroyers. i was simply removing any ambiguity. I am content to wait for the edit until the article/page is published.

thanks for all you hard work on here. it is really appreciated by the rest of us. — Preceding unsigned comment added by The original destroyers (talkcontribs) 17:03, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

This title is creation protected, so I can't make it. You were the last sysop to delete it, and policy says to contact one who was previously involved. Grier will be on Dancing with the Stars, that should make him notable enough. I have a short draft ready, should be good enough this time, please move it for me: Draft:Hayes Grier/Rainbow unicorn Thanks. Rainbow unicorn (talk) 11:56, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

Done @Rainbow unicorn: Personally, I think the DWTS appearance pushes him over the top to notability. At the least, it's enough of a new development, coupled with the Charlotte Observer article, that the concerns of the old AfD no longer apply, so the article can't be speedy deleted via criterion G4. —C.Fred (talk) 19:56, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

Need help with creator of this LighterBro Multi-Tool

Hi C.Fred – I recently noticed that you have deleted this page LighterBro Multi-Tool and I would like to know who was the creator of that article? Since I'm guessing it was the same person who submitted a draft article at Draft:LighterBro LLC and I don't have a trace of this article's (LighterBro Multi-Tool) creator, I need your help in tracking the creator of the deleted page since I need to review the draft and find out it's the linked/similar articles before moving to the main space as I have no evidence on why that article was deleted. Any of your help in confirming whether Dansa Man is the creator or not, is greatly appreciated.  MONARCH Talk to me 21:34, 15 September 2015 (UTC)

@Alpha Monarch: The original create of the article was Sickright, who edited the page from 20:00 to 20:02 on 12 Sep 2015. Dansa Man edited the page later on the 12th, at 22:11 and 22:21. I hope that helps with your analysis. —C.Fred (talk) 02:34, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

Need help with paid editor at Draft:American Energy Partners, LP

Hi C.Fred,

This article American Energy Partners, LP was submitted by an editor that is associated with this company and he declared that he is a paid consultant in this company branch of PR agency. I would like to know is it permissible (for based on Wikipedia's policies) for an editor to create an article by receiving payments from the company? As I need to ensure that the article will not lead to WP:COI or AfD after approving this article via AfC. So you as an administrator, I need your opinions in this section whether this article may face WP:COI (or will lead to AfD) or not. Hoping to hear your feedback!  MONARCH Talk to me 22:08, 17 September 2015 (UTC)

Some of the rest of its edit history is quite problematic too. Jeh (talk) 20:17, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
@Jeh: Anything bad enough to go ahead and send it to ANI? Point out a diff if you think so. —C.Fred (talk) 20:18, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
I'm going through it. I first noticed a few misdirected redirects, which are not the worst things but I'm not sure where to redirect them to. If they're electric-wiring related I'll report them at talk:AC power plugs and sockets. There are a few sudden creations of large articles, which I don't believe he wrote from whole cloth, but I don't know yet where they came from. etc. Sigh... Not what I want to be doing. Oh, and thank you again for "butting in." :) Jeh (talk) 20:24, 19 September 2015 (UTC)

Well, that didn't take as long as I thought it would. Still, not what I wanted to be doing. I've tagged or fixed everything I think was a problem. Hip Hop Hurrà

Sorry, I didn't read the CSD A3 criteria carefully enough. For what it's worth, on the Hungarian Wikipedia, extremely short articles like this are tagged and deleted in a few days if they don't reach stub level. nyuszika7h (talk) 19:40, 22 September 2015 (UTC)

@Nyuszika7h: Speedy deletion here is for a limited set of article conditions. There is another tag, {{prod}}, that is useful to propose deletion for, among other things, short new articles. If they aren't improved in 7-10 days, they get deleted. —C.Fred (talk) 19:49, 22 September 2015 (UTC)

Edit requests

Too many users and IPs don't know how edit requests work; they think it's a permission for them to edit the article. Wish we could make it clearer what it actually is. — Confession0791 talk 14:43, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

@Confession0791: Well, they're finding the template to request the edit, so I guess we need clearer instructions in there about needing to request what the actual change is that they want to make, not just that they want to make a change. Or, more critically, stress that they won't be able to make the change themselves, but somebody else will make the change for them. —C.Fred (talk) 15:11, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
This is the page they see when they submit a request. The clarity should be here. — Confession0791 talk 15:21, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
@Confession0791: The false supposition, of course, is that IP editors read any of the instructions provided. :) —C.Fred (talk) 15:28, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

"Hello, I'm C.Fred. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Maksim Behar without explaining why. Appreciate your attention. It was not an experiment. I should mention the reason, which I did forget. But... For the past couple of months I am observing rude attacks on my profile. My name, under all my documents and international passport is spelled Maxim, but someone, not even recognised or registered is changing it to Maksim, with "ks", which is not the right spelling, I did also remove parts, which are not true, based only on media publications, which I many times denied and even not in English language... and finally, as I am divorced, I do not want to have private details on my profile.

Form that respect I have tow questions to you as a proven professional. 1. Can I block or lock my profile and 2. Can I delete my profile?

Please, come back to me with professional explanation.

I will make again the necessary changes now with the proper explanation, you are right, it was my mistake.

Thanks for your attention and have a great day!

Matt Holt

October 1, 2015

Hello, C. Fred,

I would like to resolve this edit war as soon as possible. It is a pain for everyone.

Is there a way you and I, and/or Binksternet, could speak in a non-public forum? Email, perhaps? Or instant messenger? There are things I don't wish to reveal to the public, but I believe they may resolve this situation.

Thank you very much,

Leila Aria (talk) 04:21, 1 October 2015 (UTC)Leila Aria

@Leila Aria: As a matter of practice, I don't engage in email conversations with other Wikipedia users. I use email for a very limited set of circumstances. I've also had technical issues with the IRC servers, so I don't frequent any of the IRC channels related to Wikipedia.
That said, there is a mechanism for matters of non-public information. WP:Volunteer Response Team handles requests sent to it via email that are of a sensitive nature. For instance, photographers and subjects of articles have emailed the VRT to confirm that they have the rights to a picture used in an article and that they have placed the image under a free license. The VRT also handles checking the identity of a user who holds themselves out of a notable person.
For instance, if Matt Holt were to open a Wikipedia account, he would want to contact VRT to prove his identity. This would not give him free rein to change the article about him; he would still be bound by the WP:Conflict of interest guidelines that limit what an editor may do to an article about himself, his company, or his works. However, the verification by VRT would let other users on the talk page know that they are communicating with the actual subject and not an impersonator.
Again, if you have some kind of sensitive information that you don't want to share publicly but that you do think is relevant to an article, your best course of action is to contact the VRT. —C.Fred (talk) 15:25, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

I do not appreciate you editing my post and sending it to the administration for deletion. Please do some research before you make statements like you have previously made. He is a notable character. And was also a top player at the division II level. Nominated for the Harlon Hill Trophy. Ohhhhh! Thank you very much for your help. I will definitely look into that. It seems as though there have been multiple people posting on your talk page that have issues with you editing their work. But hey if it weren't for you then wikipedia probably wouldn't be able to function as a webpage. So keep up the good work. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kutztown Fan (talkcontribs) 21:43, 2 October 2015‎ (UTC)

Did you play football in college or professionally? Kutztown Fan (talk) 21:55, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

Ceco aneez

Hi there. I'm just about to go to bed and am too spaced out to handle this properly. [14][15][16]

Many thanks. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:06, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

@Anna Frodesiak: And I've almost woken up enough to handle this properly. :) Thank you for pointing it out; I'm keeping an eye on the user, who I have a bad feeling won't make it through the early afternoon (UTC). —C.Fred (talk) 14:25, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
I'm up again (still half asleep; a bit of a typhoon over here), and see that you and others have put a lid on things. Thank you so much! :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 18:12, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
I searched and found a total of 7 accounts, all with the same agenda. All blocked with headquartering at the first account registered: User talk:Aneez CECO. I'll do periodic searches. Cheers, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:38, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

Norbert Klassen

Dear C.Fred the article on wikipedia for Norbert Klassen contains on th eone hand, wrong information on tthe other hand information that was taken from websites and pages on the internet associated with me. Norbert Klassen is a German performance artist, his etate and all rights to his person and work belong to the ART-Nachlassstiftung fuer Kunstschaffende in Bern.

Though I understand the conflict of interest rules, i do not see how correcting incorrect information on the person of Norbert Klassen is a conflict of interest? Over twenty people have researched on the life of Norbert Klassen and we want to give a correct and accurate account of this information to the english speaking and german speaking people who are interested in work.

can someone at least save the work i did this afternoon and tell me how i can edit the article then? sincerely RenéeMagaña (talk) 15:07, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

Reply at your talk page. —C.Fred (talk) 15:10, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

I was about to file a 3RR report on Jugdev when I noticed your dialogue with him on his Talk page. If / when you have a moment, please drop by the subject article and its Talk page and offer a comment or two. ("Revised intro" is where most of the action is taking place at the moment.) I am - growing exasperated by the process and the persistent reversions. Thanks. JohnInDC (talk) 01:31, 5 October 2015 (UTC)

@JohnInDC: I'm staying out of the content issues and focusing on counseling editors on their behaviour so that I can take administrative actions if warranted. —C.Fred (talk) 02:37, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. I meant to be soliciting behavioral comment, and that being the case should more properly have directed you to Jugdev's Talk page. But since you're watching anyhow I will now just let things unfold as they will; thanks for the response! JohnInDC (talk) 02:55, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
I am now requesting your assistance, and possible intervention, at this page in your capacity as administrator. The immediate & precipitating event is set forth at Talk:Programmatic_media#Teletext. Despite very clear concerns expressed by several editors concerning the content and accuracy of that section, Jugdev has been repeatedly restoring his preferred version - he is at I am pretty sure he's over 3RR now, and not wishing to risk it a violation myself, I am turning to you.
For all of the Talk on this article, there is actually very little progress and I am despairing of ever making real improvement there so long as Jugdev is permitted to keep editing it. Thanks. JohnInDC (talk) 11:47, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
Since the foregoing, he has removed a comment of mine from the article Talk page, here, accused me of removing his Talk page comments (I can't find where I might've done that), and templated me on my Talk page to warn me about this claimed transgression. Things seem to be devolving pretty rapidly.
After the dust has settled on this latest eruption, I would appreciate any advice you may have on how better to handle circumstances like this. It seems as though the two or three other editors who've been working with me to try to improve the article have spent too much time on what now seems a futile process. Thanks. JohnInDC (talk) 13:47, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
I endorse JohnInDC's request for administrative intervention. I have tried many times to get through to this editor but I am starting to feel there might be NOTHERE or CIR issues but it is hard to tell which. JbhTalk 14:31, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
NeilN has blocked Jugdev for a week for edit warring, but I'd still be interested in any thoughts or advice about the way in which we (the other editors) or I have been handling this. Thanks. JohnInDC (talk) 14:54, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
I agree with all the above comments, in particular "despairing of ever making real improvement there so long as Jugdev is permitted to keep editing it" and "...have spent too much time on what now seems a futile process". The most assume-good-faith explanation I have for the content disputes is that Jugdev doesn't understand our WP:OWN policy (though he's been pointed at it several times). But I can't see any assume-good-faith explanation for his behavioral violations, which I documented in the talk page. In the past, I've seen disputes where we've been much too patient with persistent edit-warriers and wasted huge amounts of time (I'm thinking of User:Thrax's edits on Ancient Greek phonology, see also [17]) .--Macrakis (talk) 15:21, 6 October 2015 (UTC)

Good evening.

I have had an article removed in the past few hours due to something about 'Not being relevant'; However, As you could tell, It was in the early stages of the development and I need others (Who aren't in my office/locality/country) to help me with adding content and references. The St Helens RL team has a Wikipedia page, and have named us (Portico Vine ARLFC) on their page under 4.1 - Junior rugby in St Helens. You have not removed Pilkington Recs which falls into the same category as my page ... Please reinstate the page so I can continue building it.

Thanks.

@Iantumn: Each article is considered on its merits. Pilkington Recs meets the notability criteria for sports teams because it had previously competed as a senior professional club. No such assertion was made about Portico Vine in its article. As far as being listed on the St Helens RL page, it's reasonable for junior teams to be listed but not to have their own articles.
I stand by the deletion, but I am willing to give you an opportunity to develop the article. I will restore it to the draft space where it can be worked on. If/when it meets the notability criteria--either by showing some achievement that meets the sports-specific guidelines or because there's substantial coverage of the club in independent sources--then we can move it back to the main encyclopedia. The article will be at Draft:Portico Vine ARLFC. —C.Fred (talk) 20:32, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

I thought we might give her a few more minutes, will speedy if it is still test-looking. All the best Samir 02:39, 9 October 2015 (UTC)

@Samir: I usually wait about 10 minutes before actually deleting the article after tagging it; I use the tag as a "Your article will be deleted if not fixed" caution. When she copied in the sample bio, that screamed test to me. —C.Fred (talk) 02:45, 9 October 2015 (UTC)
absolutely, agree completely with you; it just seems she is taking longer than most to figure out how to edit. Amy Jo Burns looked legitimate for an article though. I'm around for the next hour and will likely edit it myself if she is getting nowhere. Take care -- Samir 02:54, 9 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi please do not delete my page. I need to create it for a project for school and I just don't know what I'm doing. I think I figured it out now but please don't delete it. Thank you ! Lpansini (talk) 06:12, 9 October 2015 (UTC)

Lpansini, I've replied at your talk page.
Samir: Oh, joy. Another instructor saying "Create an article on Wikipedia" without understanding its guidelines or getting in touch with the education Wikiproject. —C.Fred (talk) 15:39, 9 October 2015 (UTC)
I saw your cleanup. You may have gotten her an "A"! Samir 23:07, 9 October 2015 (UTC)

Thanking you in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 223.68.142.242 (talk) 09:55, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
