Just after finishing extensive revising of the above article. I aim to keep on at it over the coming weeks and submit it for peer review. Would very much appreciate your thoughts. Fergananim 20:04, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No article on Mac Fhirbhisigh would be complete without one on Nollaig. We're not short on good historians here in Ireland, but for my money Nollaig is head and shoulders above many. Besides citing a few more of his works, and maybe adding a photo, this article is nearly complete. Fergananim 23:44, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Much appreciated, Bobo. My mind is'nt always up to grammer and the like, so I do appreciate any and all help. Cheers! Fergananim 11:34, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Daler mendhi[edit]

The article Daler Mendhi has copyright infringement... the website that the article provides is the source of the information provided. Please tag this article and help clean up this article. Just thought you would like to know... 71.176.140.188 23:39, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, but it seems that this page should be deleted. The article is under the singer's correct name, Daler Mehndhi. This page is not correct as it lists his incorect name and has an article on it... I am not exactly sure what should be done about this. 71.176.140.188 04:36, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, not sure what the purpose of this edit was, I assume it was a mistake as it deleted cited sources and reintroduced spelling errors. Anyway, I've gone ahead and reverted. Cheers, DWaterson 21:03, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks for reverting the nonsense edit recently at the above article. However, please consider examining more closely all previous edits instead of just the most recent. You missed this, and I have therefore reverted the article further to remove that linkspam. Thanks. Refsworldlee(chew-fat)(eds) 18:40, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Yours, in the fight against vandalism. Refsworldlee(chew-fat)(eds) 18:51, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bobo, you deleted Pentz, but I could have sworn there was a legit article there before the vandalism hit. Can you check the edit history to make sure? Thanks. -SpuriousQ (talk) 06:54, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Truth or Ed"[edit]

I don't think that page was meant to be a nonsense page because "Truth or Ed" is an episode of the animated series Ed, Edd n Eddy. The episode aired as part of season five. Squirepants101 13:24, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do not understand why you deleted this entry when there are hundreds of similar (surname only) entries, any more of this and I will report you for nameism. Johnskitt 11:47, 7 March 2007 (UTC) Your idea sounds good, there needs to be the disambiguation for skitt's law as well. Johnskitt 16:11, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for helping to clear up the vandalism to my userpage :) I don't know what happened but there seems to have been a particulaly high level of vandalism around today ! Maybe it's someone I know, but whatever or whoever - thank you!

Sugar Act[edit]

I note that you reverted some recent edits to Sugar Act following a plague of gross vandalism, mostly by persons who were not signed in. I have reverted to a version just before that began. I hope that what I have done is appropriate. I did this because the vandals appeared to have destroyed what may be good text. I wonder whether the article does not need to be semi-protected or to have action taken against the vandals. I note that you are an Admin; I am a humble editor, trying to get rid of what I know to be inaccuracies where I find them. Peterkingiron 22:45, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cricketer trivia[edit]

If you google for "Edward Freeman" cricketer, you will find at least one article which seems to conflate an Essex cricketer of the early 20th century and a Tasmanian of the mid-19th, both named Edward Freeman! Just thought, if you are going to continue working on cricket as your sandbox indicates, that you might want to watch out for that. --Orange Mike 02:15, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bandal killa[edit]

Thank you for reverting vandalism on my page! V-Man - T/C 03:55, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just curious, why this revert [1] it seems to me that the text reverted is all relevant, civil and interesting. Personally I would prefer those comments remain as part of the discussion, which is presently about establishing both the existance and notability of the article topic, neither of which seems by any means certain yet. --Zeraeph 11:56, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In the future, please check the history before you delete something under CSD G2; one-off vandal edits need to be reverted, not cause the entire page to be deleted. Thanks! Kirill Lokshin 12:31, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vstyle[edit]

I created a page for music producer and hip hop artist, "Vstyle" in which you were one of the users that deleted this page. I provided accurate information in reference to his profile via several websites, album releases and recommendations. Why was his page deleted? He is making a strong name for himself and all of the info I input on his page was correct. Please review the page and "remark" and advertise on Wikipedia. I strongly believe that you deleted this as an error; for his information was more accurate than 20% of the profiles for other hip hop artists and producers. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jgray11 (talkcontribs) 18:18, 22 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Italian films[edit]

Hi, I just wanted you to know a newbie from Spain (apparently) is helping us compile the List of Italian films, after having helped with the List of Spanish films. Plenty of mistakes, but I am standing by and correcting. Also too many red links and untranslated titles will be dealt with soon. I corrected and put back two of the notes (not the invalid link), but if you think they are not needed, please let me know. I care not to discourage the user, as we are desparate for contributors familiar with each cinema's films. Hoverfish Talk 18:17, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chris Taylor (cricketer)[edit]

Hi, I'm removing the redirect from Chris Taylor (cricketer) to Christopher Taylor (cricketer) after another current player with the same name was found to be playing for Derbyshire. The issue was raised here. AMBerry (talk | contribs) 19:17, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The only thing original in the sub-stub I created quickly was the place of birth and the middle name, which I've now added. Really all that needs doing is disambiguation links put in place and a standard title thought of, I'd have thought? AMBerry (talk | contribs) 19:40, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Charles van der Gucht, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. List of articles created[edit]

Hi! I'm wondering: How did you get a list of articles you created, as well as the number? Punkmorten 11:21, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. I got a link from User:Interiot. Thought you might be interested. http://tools.wikimedia.de/~interiot/cgi-bin/dump/articles_created.cgi?user= Cheers, Punkmorten 09:48, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I note you've changed this article's name from "Worcestershire cricketer", and it's not a bad idea when cricketers have played for multiple teams, as many have. (I think the link from "[county] cricketer" should be there (as a redirect) for important players, though.) What are your criteria for making this change, though? At the moment we have article titles of the forms:

  1. Joe Bloggs
  2. Joe Bloggs (cricketer)
  3. Joe Bloggs (English cricketer)
  4. Joe Bloggs (Kent cricketer)
  5. Joe Bloggs (Kent and Surrey cricketer)
  6. Joe Bloggs (born 1884)
  7. Joe Middlename Bloggs

and probably several more! Do you have any particular thoughts on which of that lot, if any, we should aim to standardise on? Loganberry (Talk) 14:16, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Since he played 400 times in league football, but made only one first-class appearance in cricket, I would imagine that football sources would be more likely to provide the answers. Chesterfield FC's official site has a fair bit of info, but what it doesn't include, sadly, is his date of death (assuming he is dead). He can't have died in '38, though, since he was "During the war, Horace served as a PT Instructor in the Middle East, rising to the rank of Sergeant-major." It would appear that his glue-salesman says would have been post-war, too. Loganberry (Talk) 14:05, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Check history before you delete[edit]

Please check the history of articles before you delete them. You deleted Russo And Steele, which had 29,000 revisions since it was in fact Wikipedia:Tutorial (Editing)/sandbox, moved to a nonsense location by a vandal shortly beforehand. The deletion probably caused the whole wiki to go into read-only mode for a few minutes, and the undeletion required shell access to the servers to perform. -- Tim Starling 16:37, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: The best way to handle this situation[edit]

Thanks for your message, Bobo. I don't think you need to handle it any different from normal. We have the month of death, and we can do without the exact date. I've edited the article to do it that way.

By the way, I'm not sure if you already know, but if not you should be warned: there seems to be a majority view at the moment that cricketers who have not played a first-class or List A match are not notable enough for inclusion in Wikipedia and can be deleted. This is based on WP:BIO#Criteria for notability of people, which refers to "competitors who have played in a fully professional league, or a competition of equivalent standing in a non-league sport". This came up recently in this deletion debate, which concerned a cricketer who'd even captained Australia Under-19s. I was undecided on it, but the consensus was to delete it.

I nominated my article Tompkins Square Park Police Riot for FA status[edit]

From the nomination page:
(self-nomination)This article is simply excellent. Excellent writing, interesting subject matter, improved during its Good Article trial, and eye-witnesses have left notes on the Talk page that talk about the article being so accurate, it's like they were living it all over again. Written in a NPOV and heavily cited with the highest of sources, it includes GFDL media, is wikified to the fullest, a fantastic "See Also" section, and looks at the story from every angle. --David Shankbone 18:39, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My dear Bobo[edit]

Because the road was steep and long
And through the dark and lonely lands,
God set upon our lips a song
And put a lantern in our hands.

Through miles on weary miles of night
That stretch relentless in our way
Our lantern burns serene and white,
An unexhausted cup of day.

O lights like wine, and lights of gold,
How dim your boasted splendors are!
This lamp of friendship that we hold
It is more starlike than a star!

My dear Bobo,

It is not every day that I receive such a kind thoughtful and heartfelt message like the one you sent me a few hours ago, the kind of messages that makes me pause, read and re read as I cherish the beauty in the words... even tho I end up in tears of happiness. It's been a long time since we last talked, yet I remember like it was yesterday. I am always somewhat uncomfortable at words of kindness directed to me, and the thought that I can make a difference always seems too big for my little self, especially when bright, thoughtful and special people like you are around. But I've also learned to accept the idea that, sometimes, it is best no to have these inner struggles and simply accept the joy that gifts like the one you've granted give; those moments are too precious to let my silliness spoil them. So let's just let this be the shiny moment when our paths rejoin, hopefully to continue in touch for the years to come. It's not every day that I'm blessed to renew a friendship with someone as wonderful as you. Thank you, beyond any words I can possibly construe, my dear Bobo. You are truly beautiful :) Love you, Phaedriel - 08:29, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Murloc[edit]

An editor has nominated Murloc, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Murloc and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. - Tiswas(t) 13:55, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
