Stembel commanding in 1872[edit]

Although Stembel's DANFS bio states that he commanded the Pacific Fleet in 1872, no other sources can be found to substantiate the existance of a Fleet that early. Perhaps the Pacific Squadron is meant? Jinian 23:44, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Name change?[edit]

Would anybody object if I changed the name of this article to United States Pacific Fleet? RickK 19:33, Jun 17, 2005 (UTC)

I don't care as long as you do the redirects and change all the other US fleets for consistency. Jinian 21:07, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

CINCPAC redirect[edit]

Why does this redirect here? Shouldn't it redirect to the page on the Pacific Command? (Foreign Relations of the United States has CINCPAC as Commander in Chief, Pacific).

You're right. CINCPACFLT was Pacific Fleet and CINCPAC was Pacific Command. I've changed the redirect. Note that the term CINC is not in use at this time in the US, for anyone other than the President. Jinian 11:55, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Much disambiguation needed in Post-1945 section[edit]

Fellow editors - There are a TON of links in the Post-1945 section of this article that need to be disambiguated and pointed towards the proper article. I can start working on it, but I will hold off on it a little bit in case any of the other contributors to this article have a certain way they want to approach this cleanup. Please let me know if further discussion is needed. Thanks KConWiki (talk) 00:21, 14 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not having heard any comments, I am going to return to this and clean these up over the course of the next few days or so. Let me know if any concerns. KConWiki (talk) 02:46, 5 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
